Donna Kay Babcock

Donna Kay Babcock, age 53, of Odessa passed away Tuesday, January 22, 2008 in San Antonio.  She was born Monday, September 20, 1954 in Levelland, Hockley County, Texas to the late Hubert Boyd Rust and Dorothy Velma (Scott) Rust.  She married Leland Babcock in Stephenville, Texas in 1975. They enjoyed 32 happy years marriage until separated by his death May 27, 2007.  Before retirement, she worked as a beautician and nail tech.

Donna is survived by her sons - Dennis “ Buster” Brooks and  Shaun Babcock, both of Odessa;  two daughters - Terri Renee Tucker of Odessa  and Latonnia Gripon of League City, TX; two sisters – Edna Fullen of Odessa; Dean Daniel of Port Lavaca, TX; and ten grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband - William Leland Babcock, and three brothers – Bobby Jo Rust, Leon Rust, and Billy Rust.

Funeral services will be 2 pm Monday, January 28, 2008 at Acres West Funeral Chapel with Pastor Mike Bartlett officiating.  Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Jack J. Pearce
Jack J. Pearce, age 57, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2008 at his residence in Odessa.  He was born Monday, January 30, 1950 in Morristown, NJ to Everrett Johnson and Edna Gladstone Pearce.  He was a welder for Marrow Manufacturing.  He loved to bar-b-que and to combine his talent for welding with it in welding up BBQ pits.  He also enjoyed photography.
 
Those left to mourn his loss are his wife of over 20 years:  Lydia Pearce of Odessa; son: Christopher Pearce of Odessa, daughter:  Lisa Pearce of Odessa; brother:  Ed Pearce of Rowlett, TX; and one grandchild on the way.
 
A prayer service will be held 7 pm Monday evening, January 28, 2008 at Acres West Funeral Chapel.  Graveside services will be 2 pm Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at Los Angeles Garden section of Ector County Cemetery.  Services are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Jose Israel Lujan
Jose Israel Lujan, age 66, passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at Medical Center Hospital.  He was born Thursday, August 14, 1941 in La Esmeralda, Ojinaga Chihuahua, Mexico to Cayetano and Maria (Carrasco) Lujan.  He was a truck driver in construction.  He was an Odessa resident and attended church at Life Challenge.
 
Israel is survived by his wife of 26 years - Maria Lujan of Odessa; four sons - Jose Lujan, Jr., Juan Lujan, Victor Lujan and wife Vanessa, and Jorge Lujan, all of Odessa; four daughters - Maricela Ramirez and husband Willie, Mireya Gomez and husband Richard, and Leticia Chavez, all of Odessa and Rosa Kaiser and husband Carl of Borger, TX; brother - Maurilio Lujan of Odessa; five sisters - Rosa Chavez, Minerva Rivera, Blanca Palma, and Alma Sanchez , all of Odessa and Elsa Birden of Temple, TX; seventeen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
 
Funeral services will be 2 pm Thursday, January 31, 2008 at Acres West Funeral Chapel officiated by Pastor Felipe Molinar.  Interment will follow at Los Angeles Garden section of Ector County Cemetery.  Services are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Thomas Enrique Alvarado
Thomas Enrique Alvarado, age 34, passed from this life Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at his residence in Lubbock, TX.  He was born October 23, 1973 in Artesia, NM to Jose E. Alvarado and Mercedes Ramona (Sanchez) Alvarado.  He was a waiter.  He was a member of the Catholic Church.
 
Those left to cherish his love and memory include his father: Jose E. Alvarado of Lubbock, brothers:  Jose Antonio Alvarado and Angel Gabriel Alvarado, both of Odessa and Jesus Manuel Alvarado of Lubbock; and two sisters:  Rosario Alvarado of Odessa and Rosa Maria Alejandro of Lubbock.
 
Rosary will be said 7 pm Thursday, January 31, 2008 at Acres West Funeral Chapel.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am Friday, February 1, 2008 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at the Los Angeles Garden section of the Ector County Cemetery.  Services are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Arturo Ortiz Santiesteban
Arturo Ortiz Santiesteban, age 60 died Thursday, January 24, 2008 in Galveston, TX.  He was born Friday, June 6, 1947 in Santiago Cuba.
 
He is survived by three sons - Mark Anthony Santiesteban, Daniel Ray Santiesteban, and Jose Luis Santiestaban; sisters - Mary and Teresa Izquierdo, and nineteen grandchildren all of Odessa.
 
A prayer service will be 7 pm Sunday, February 3, 2008 at Acres West Funeral Chapel.  Funeral services will be 2 pm Monday, February 4, 2008 at Acres West Funeral Chapel.  Interment will follow at Los Angeles Garden section of Ector County Cemetery.

Jose Luis Garza

Jose Luis Garza, age 47, was called to be with his Lord Tuesday, January 29, 2008 at his residence in Odessa.  He also maintained a residence in Willcox, AZ.  He was born Sunday, December 11, 1960 in Ojinaga, Mexico.  He was an apple orchard superintendent for Valley Farms.

He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years:  Angie Garza of Willcox, AZ; two sons:  Jose Luis Garza of Willcox, AZ and Gabriel Garza who is stationed in San Diego, CA; two daughters: Jennifer Garza of Tucson, AZ and Jessica Marie Garza of Willcox, AZ; mother:  Rosario Gonzales Garza; one brother:  Javier Garza of Odessa; two sisters:  Rosa Rodriguez and Gracie Hernandez, both of Odessa; and two grandchildren:  JT Garza and Zanati Garza, both of Willcox, AZ.

Rosary will be said 7 pm Saturday and Sunday, February 2nd and 3rd, 2008 at Acres West Funeral Chapel’s 24 Hour Chapel.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 am Monday, February 4, 2008 at St. Anthony Catholic Church officiated by Father Joe Uecker.  Interment will follow at the Los Angeles Garden section of Ector County Cemetery.

Oscar Manuel Muñoz
Oscar Manuel Muñoz, age 78, passed from this life Thursday, January 31, 2008 at his residence in Odessa.  He was born June 19, 1929 in El Paso, Texas to Oscar and Maria J. (Estrada) Muñoz .  He was a retired medical doctor.  He was a member of the Catholic Church.
 
He is survived by his wife of over 54 years:  Hermila Muñoz of Odessa; seven sons:  Javier Muñoz and Arquinedes Muñoz both of El Paso, TX, Oscar Muñoz of Presidio, TX, and Luis Muñoz, Vicente Muñoz, Marco Muñoz and Trinidad Muñoz, all of Odessa; two daughters:  Luz Spencer of San Jose, CA and Isabel Sanchez of Eunice, NM; one brother:  Hector Muñoz of Ojinaga Chihuahua, Mexico; four sisters:  Paquita Flores of Odessa, Hortencia Almance of Marfa, TX, Nena Acosta of Chihuahua, Mexico, and Doli Carlos of Ojinaga Chihuahua, Mexico; eighteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
 
Services will be in San Francisco, Ojinaga Chihuahua, Mexico with interment to follow at Cementario de San Francisco.  Services are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Maria Adame Estrada

Maria Adame Estrada, age 60, passed from this life Friday, February 1, 2008 at Hospice House of Odessa.  She was born December 25, 1947 in Mexico to Jesus and Andrea (Ramirez) Adame.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Templo Buenas Nuevas Assembly of God Church.

 

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband:  Pedro Estrada of Odessa; two children:  Peter Estrada and wife Jessica and Christina Acosta and husband Saul, all of Odessa; two brothers:  Efrain Adame and Manuel Adame and wife Belen, all of Pecos, TX; four sisters:  Ernestina Bustillo and husband Angel of Las Cruces, NM, Agustina Herrera and husband Antonio and Consuelo Gonzalez and husband Leonardo, all of Delicias, Mexico, and Lupe Jasso of Odessa; and four grandchildren:  Andrea, Alexis, Alex, and Adrian.

 

A prayer service will be 7 pm Monday, February 4, 2008 at Acres West Funeral Chapel.  Funeral services will be 2 pm Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at Templo Buenas Nuevas Assembly of God Church with Pastor Rosario Hill officiating.  Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.  Services are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Veronica Isela Perez

Veronica Isela Perez, age 36, was carried to Heaven on angel's wings  Monday, February 4, 2008 at Medical Center Hospital.  She was born February 28, 1971 in Juarez, Mexico to Francisco and Raquel (Bertauth) Perez. 

She is survived by her mother:  Raquel Perez of Juarez, Mexico; two brothers:  Julio Gonzalez of El Paso, TX and Victor Gonzalez of Odessa; and three sisters:  Rosa Gonzalez and Maria Gonzales, both of Juarez, Mexico, and Raquel Olandez of Odessa.

She was preceded in death by her father:  Francisco Perez

Funeral services will be 2 pm Thursday, February 7, 2008 at Acres West Funeral Chapel with Pastor Humberto Porras officiating. Pallbearers will be Pilo Regalado, Auden Melendez, Victor Gonzalez, Miguel Villagrana, Francisco Villagrana, and Danny Castillo.  Interment will follow at Los Angeles Garden section of Ector County Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Patsie Wells
Patsie Wells, age 72, passed away Monday, February 4, 2008 at Hospice House of Odessa.  She was born February 18, 1935 in Decatur, IL.  She was a homemaker.
 
She is survived by one son:  Johnny Lee Wells of Odessa, two grandchildren, and her dear friend: Liz Moffett of Odessa.
 
A memorial service will be held 3 pm Monday, February 11, 2008 at Joe's Place.  Services are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

J. Scott Connelly

J. Scott Connelly, age 91, passed away Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at his residence in Odessa.  He was born October 25, 1916 in Coleman, TX to William Samuel Connelly and Lola Minnie (Eastham) Connelly.   He married Hazel Lee Hughes in Ballinger, TX May 15, 1942.  They enjoyed 54 years of marriage together until separated by her death August 13, 1996.  He was a retired farmer and carpenter and a member of Victory Assembly of God Church.

Mr. Connelly is survived by one son:   Jerry Connelly of Odessa; five daughters:  Louise Giddins, Linda Bullard, Shirley Floyd and Deborah Moss, all of Odessa, and Connie Roberts of Bridgeport, TX; two sisters:  Hazel Bushong of Odessa and Marie Walker of McCamey, TX; twenty-four grandchildren, fifty great-grandchildren and eleven great-great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and one daughter:  Patricia Connelly.

Funeral services will be 10 am Friday, February 8, 2008 at Victory Assembly of God Church on the corner of FM 1936 and Dunn with Pastor Randall Mitchell officiating.  Pallbearers will include Dustin O’Banion, James O’Banion, Leonard Manning, David Floyd, Thomas Lovett, Matthew Roberts, Jody Moss, Jerry Connelly Jr, and Dillon Roberts.  Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.  Services are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Patricia Culp

Patricia Culp, age 63, of Terlingua, TX passed from this life on Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at Medical Center Hospital of Odessa.  She was born February 1, 1945 in Ingham, NE to Albert and Ethel (Justice) Clevenger.  She was a hotel manager. 

Patricia was a loving mother and grandmother and great friend.  She was an independent, strong-willed woman who was dedicated to her work.  She also volunteered with the Salvation Army and was a member of the Baptist Church. 

She is survived by five children: Jerry M. Culp of Lakewood, CO, Robert B. Culp of Terlingua, TX, Mary Gonzales of Pueblo, CO, Elizabeth Culp of Denver, CO, and Tracie Culp of Odessa; one brother:  Lloyd Clevenger of Colorado Springs, CO; three sisters:  Donna Rich and Wanda Green, both of Colorado Springs, CO and Barbara Robles of Cleveland, OH; twelve grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be 10 am Thursday, February 7, 2008 at Acres West Funeral Chapel with Brother Wayne Shelton officiating.  Services are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.
