Maria
Guadalupe Navarrete Porras, age 43, left this life Sunday, February
17, 2008 in Odessa. She was born in El Ejido, Mexico to Manuel and
Maria (Marquez) Navarrete. She was a nurse's aide.
She is
survived by her husband: Eduardo Porras of Odessa; three sons:
Arturo Navarrete, Andres Navarrete, and Lucio Navarrete all of
Odessa; one daughter: Lizbeth Navarrete of Odessa; one brother:
Damaso Navarrete of Ojinaga, Mexico; four sisters: Manuela Navarrete
of Odessa and Socorro Navarrete, Maria Navarrete, and Paula Navarrete,
all of Ojinaga, Mexico; and seven grandchildren.
Services
will be held in Ojinaga, Mexico. Interment will follow at Cementario
de Jardines de San Jose in Ojinaga. Services are entrusted to Acres
West Funeral Chapel.

Emmitt Nelson Wilson, age 80, passed away Sunday, February 17, 2008 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. He was born September 15, 1927 in Tahoka, TX. He was retired. He is survived by a sister, Modean Corley of Odessa. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife. Graveside services will be 9 am Wednesday, February 19, 2008 at the Los Angeles Garden Section of Ector County Cemetery, officiated by Brother John Lyons. Services are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Maclovio Montaño, age 71, passed away Saturday, February 18, 2008 at Medical Center Hospital. He was born Saturday, April 11, 1936 in Las Vegas, San Miguel County, New Mexico to Filemon and Alice (Barrera) Montaño. He married Dora Mary Sierra December 9, 1961 in Pueblo, CO. He was a retired farm worker. He is survived by his wife – Dora Montaño of Odessa; one son – Carl Montaño of Odessa; four daughters – Alice Rodriguez of Odessa, Loretta Montaño Lira and Velma Gentry, both of Hobbs, NM and Elaine Montaño; two brothers – Adan Montaño of Las Vegas, NM and Leo Montaño of Romeroville, NM; four sisters – Carmen Loera, Virginia Montour, and Isabel Gallegos, all of Albuquerque, NM and Tilli Chavarelle; six grandchildren – Rey Rodriguez, Jr. and wife Brenda Rodriguez, Rachel Rodriguez and husband Ivan Santana, Joe Rodriguez and wife Clavel Peña, Crystal Montez, Donna Montez, and Myda Saenz; and nine great-grandchildren – Rey Rodriguez III, David Moreno, Christian Rodriguez, Angel Rodriguez, Estrella Santana, Mya Muro, Felicity Muro, Lorilie Montez, and Donavan de los Santos. He is preceded in death by his parents - Filemon and Alice Montaño and four brothers – Steve, Eugene, LeRoy, and Amado Montaño. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2 pm Friday, February 22, 2008 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Joe Uecker officiating. Interment will follow at Los Angeles Garden section of Ector County Cemetery. Services are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one son – Michael Wray Nelson, and a brother – Eugene Nearberg. Left behind to cherish her memory are her husband: Kay L. Nelson of Odessa; son: Larry Nelson of Odessa; and sister-in-law: Gretchen Nearberg of Lake Way, TX. Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Thursday, February 21, 2008 at St. Andrew Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 1415 N. Grandview, with Rev. Jimmy Braswell officiating. Juanita
Lovett, age 86, passed away Monday, February 18, 2008 at her
residence in Odessa. She was born April 17, 1921 in Ryan, OK to
James Addison Miller and Abby Posey Miller. She was a homemaker.
She is
survived by her son James Lovett of Odessa and two sisters: Maxine
Wood of Lamesa, TX and Dorothy Hemphill of California.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband: Clifford Lovett.
Memorial
services will be held at a later date. Services are entrusted to
Acres West Funeral Chapel.

| Bill Hall |
|
Billy “Bill” Wayne Hall was born September 20, 1946 in Waxahachie, TX to Delmon Hall and Della Mae McDonald (both now deceased). He passed away February 19, 2008 at Medical Center Hospital of Odessa. Bill attended public schools, and later in his life he took numerous courses at Odessa College. Bill was often recognized because he rode his bicycle all over Odessa. He also wore his derby hat everywhere he went. Bill loved riding the E-Z Rider, playing chess, cooking, and using his computer. He also loved shopping at his favorite store “Wally World” (WalMart). You would often find him listening to music and riding his “red scooter” to visit friends. He always had a smile on his face. Bill accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. He was a member of Carter Chapel CME. He was a retired truck driver. He united in marriage to Merl Gavin October 1978 in Odessa. To this union was born one daughter. He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie Denise Hall of Philidelphia, PA; two grandchildren: Eliakim and Jamai; step-son: Hinton Smith; special father figure: William O. Davis; ex-wife: Merl Hall; a special aunt: Lula Mae Johnson of Austin, TX; a close cousin Ruby Miles of Odessa; and a host of family and friends. The family would like to send out special thanks to Darrell and Crystal with Star Care Home Health. Visitation is set from Sunday, February 24, 2008 and February 25, 2008 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at Carter Chapel, 821 Humble, Odessa, TX with Rev. Andrew Nance officiating. Interment will follow at the Los Angeles Garden section of Ector County Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jackie Johnson, Darrell Burnette, Richard Eleby, Willie Mims, James Johnson Jr., and Darron Harris. Honorary pallbearers will be James Johnson, Sr., Leroy Hudgins, Bobby Taylor, WC Wallace, Arthur R. Anderson, Leroy Wallace, and Quincy Ervin. Services are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Concepcion B. Flores, age 76, died Wednesday February 20, 2008 at his
residence in Odessa. He was born December 8, 1931 in Ojinaga, Mexico
to Manuel and Maria Jesus (Baeza) Flores. He worked in road
construction.
He is
survived by two sons: Saul Flores of Odessa and Flabio Flores of
Fayetteville, AR; four daughters: Elida Serrano and Leticia Ramirez,
both of Odessa, Isaura Florez of Southwest City, MO and Adriana
Jimenetel of San Antonio, TX; two brothers: Rodulfo Flores of Odessa
and Candelario Flores of Ojinaga, Mexico; two sisters: Lidia
Calderon of Denver City, TX and Alicia Vasquez of Olton, TX;
twenty-five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife - Esperanza Valenzuela Flores, two sons - Cuthberto and Nahum Flores, one brother - Roberto Flores, and one sister - Ninfa Cepeda.
Rosary
will be said 7 pm Friday, February 22 at Acres West Funeral Chapel.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 1 pm Saturday, February 23 at Holy
Redeemer Catholic Church with Fr. Nilo Nalugon officiating.
Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are
entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Baray Najera, age 77, died Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at Odessa
Regional/ Alliance Hospital. She was born April 10, 1930 in Old San
Lucas, Chihuahua, Mexico. She was a homemaker.
She is
survived by her husband: Manuel Najera of Odessa; three sons: Jose
Najera fo Nuevos San Lucas, Mexico, and Adrian Najera and Armando
Najera both of Meoqui, Mexico; five daughters: Matilde de Franco of
Nuevos San Lucas, Mexico, Lourdes Baeza of Odessa, Clara Hernandez
and Antonia Hernandez, both of Meoqui, Mexico and Irene Jimenez of
San Antonio, TX; two sisters: Juana Dominguez of Juarez, Mexico and
Maria Luisa Najera of La Juntas, Mexico; twenty-seven grandchildren
and twenty-one great-grandchildren.
Services
will be held in Lazaro Cardenas, Mexico with interment to follow.
Services are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Cecil
Junior Sweat, age 78, went to be with his Lord Wednesday, February 20,
2008 at his residence in Odessa. He was born in Florence, AZ to
Cecil Clyde Sweat and Mary Opal Turner Hopson Sweat. He was a
wrecker and truck driver. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
He is
survived by his wife Carolyn Sweat of Odessa; two sons: Tommy Sweat
of Cody, WY and Shawn Sweat of Odessa; one daughter: Amy Hall of
Odessa; two brothers: Timothy Hopson of Jacksboro, TX and Guy Hopson
of Anchorage, AK; and one sister: Lula Mae Craft of Bailey, TX; and
three grandchildren.
Mr.
Sweat will have no services out of respect for his wishes.
Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Mildred Laverne “Mickey” Friend, age 78, of Odessa passed away Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at Hospice of Midland. She was born May 20, 1929 in Florence, TX to Jack E. Porter and Hattie (McClary) Porter. She was an office clerk and a member of Westview Church of God. Those left to cherish her love and memory are a step-daughter: Grace Ann Boyd of Hot Springs, AR; one step-sister: Nancy Raymond of Odessa; two step-brothers: Glenn Belote of Dallas, TX and Leon Belote of McAlister, OK; two nieces: Judy Holt and Mary Larmee, both of Midland; and two nephews: David Porter and Bruce Porter, both of Odessa. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: H. H. “Red” Friend, and two brothers: Marvin E. Porter and John D. Porter. Graveside services will be 3 pm Saturday, February 23, 2008 at Sunset Memorial Gardens officiated by Brother C. E. Shuffield, assisted by Brother Tony Conger. Mary Lee Mann |

Mary Lee Manus was born Friday, August 2, 1940 in Lexington, AR to Arthur William Manus and Mary Evelyn (Vest) Manus. She married L. B. Mann and became a homemaker; raising five children. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She passed away Sunday, February 24, 2008 at her residence in Odessa at the age of 67. In addition to her parents, her husband: L. B. Mann; two sons: Steve Mann and Roger Lee Mann; and one daughter: Virginia Mann also preceded her in death. Those left to cherish her love and memory include one son: Charles Mann of Biloxi, MS; one daughter: Margie Mann of Odessa; two sisters: Helen Rodgers and Mildred Manus, both of Clarksdale, MS; six grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday; February 29, 2008 at Acres West Funeral Chapel officiated by Chaplain Emmett Barnard. Services are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.
