Inez Franco Ramirez |

Inez Franco Ramirez, age 69, of Odessa passed away Sunday, December 28, 2008 at a hospital in Weatherford, TX. She was born August 14, 1939 to Salome Franco and Isabel Gomez Franco in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico. On May 16, 1958, she married Jose Ramirez in Ojinaga. The couple lived in Odessa, TX. Inez loved taking care of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister: Juana Franco, and her daughter: Leticia Ramirez. Those left to cherish her love and memory include her husband: Jose Ramirez of Odessa; two sons: Arnulfo Ramirez and Sergio Ramirez, both of Midland, TX; six daughters: Estrella Ramirez of Odessa, Elizabeth Ramirez of Odessa, Sandra Ramirez of Arlington, TX, Azusena Ramirez of Arkansas, Sonia Ramirez of Aledo, TX, and Melissa Ramirez of Odessa; five sisters: Maria Gonsalez of Hale Center, TX, Lupe Pando of Midland, Manuela Franco of Guadalajara, Mexico, Alicia Franco of Ojinaga, Mexico, and Natividad Franco of Juarez, Mexico; one brother: Jose Franco of Colorado; twenty grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. A prayer service will be held 7:00 pm Thursday, January 1, 2009 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will also be at the funeral home chapel at 10:00 am Friday, January 2, 2009, officiated by Pastor Humberto Porras. Pallbearers will be Branson Ramirez, Alfonso Varela Jr., Alejandro Rangel, Arnulfo Ramirez Jr., Pedro Roman Jr., and Edgar Borunda. Interment will follow at Los Angeles Garden of Ector County Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Salazar Chavez, age 36, passed away Saturday, December 27, 2008 in
Odessa. He was born in Pecos, TX
on June 4, 1972 to Jose Luis and Bibiana (Salazar) Chavez.
He is survived by his mother:
Bibiana Chavez of Odessa; one son: Angel Chavez of Pecos; three
daughters: Mariah Chavez of Synder, TX, Gabriella Chavez of Andrews,
TX, and Jazz Newbanks of Odessa; one brother: Joe Chavez of Big
Spring, TX; and one sister: Rachel Jimenez of Odessa.
Graveside services are set for 2:00
pm Monday, January 5, 2009 at the Los Angeles Garden section of Ector
County Cemetery officiated by Pastor Pedro Emiliano. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral
Chapel.

Dola Watkins, age 87, passed away Monday, December 29, 2008 at her residence in Odessa. She was born July 30, 1921 in Breckenridge, TX to Mike Edward Thompson and Jettie Pearl (Beeman) Thompson. She was an Odessa resident for over 40 years, having previously resided in Kermit. She worked as a hostess for the Barn Door. She was a member of Crossroads Fellowship. Dola was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, five brothers, and two sisters. Those left to cherish her love and memory include her son: Mike Thomas and wife Alma of Odessa; daughter: Bonnie McCary of Houston; step-daughter: Jane Wilson of Homa, LA; six grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, officiated by Roni Hampton. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Raymond Joseph Laundre |

Raymond
Joseph Laundre, age 81, passed away Monday, December 29, 2008 at
Medical Center Hospital. He was born in Marquette, Michigan to the
late Edward and Elise (Lancour) Laundre on March 22, 1927. He was a
US Air Force veteran. He installed sprinkler systems.
He is
survived by his wife: Bobbie Barker of Odessa.
Memorial
services will be 6:30 pm Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at Faith Community
Baptist Church officiated by Brother Wayne Shelton. Arrangements are
entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.
