Wanda F. Scott, age 52, of Odessa died Thursday, January 1, 2009 at Medical Center Hospital. She was born in Shreveport, LA to Eugene and Robertha Wallace. She worked in housing. She was Baptist.
She is survived by her mother: Robertha Wallace of Markham, IL; her husband: Eugene Scott of Odessa; two sons: Darius Myers of Markham, IL and Eric Clark of Virginia; two daughters: Danielle Myers of Chicago, IL and Marka Wallace of Markham, IL; one sister: Trinette Moore of Calumet, IL and nine grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held next week in Illinois. Interment will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Chicago, IL. Arrangements are with Acres West Funeral Chapel in Odessa and WW Holt Funeral Home in Harvey, IL.

Hilario "Larry" Perez, age 69, passed away Friday, January 2, 2009 at his Odessa residence. He was born in Cuidad Anahuac, Chihuahua, Mexico. He was a retired roofer.
He is survived by his wife: Argelia Flores Perez of Odessa; one brother: Thomas Perez of California; and two sisters: Maria Orence Gallegos and Anita Zamora, both of California.
No services will be held at this time. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Robert Carrol Arnold, age 59, passed from this life on Monday, January 5, 2009 at Hospice House of Odessa. He was an Odessa resident. He was a floor hand and roughneck in the oilfield. He was born in Springhill, Louisiana on Saturday, January 8, 1949 to the late Jesse Stephens Arnold and Ester Lee (McAllister) Arnold.
Robert was a singer and songwriter. He was all about music. He was a free spirit who lived his life to the fullest.
He is survived by his four daughters: Madalyn Kerchner and husband Bill of Austin, TX and Jeanne Lake, Tracy Griffin and husband Jason, and Janelle Arnold, all of Odessa; four sisters: Ester (Darlene) Crabtree and husband James of Midland, Lillian Glenn and husband Robert of Haynesville, Louisiana, and Barbara Breckles and Mable Caddell and husband Lewis, all of Caldwell, TX; and seven grandchildren: Megan Kerchner and Reneé Letney of Houston, TX; Stephen, Josh, and John Griffin of Odessa, TX, Emily Atwood of Del City, Oklahoma and Abigail Lake of Odessa.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: Grady H. Arnold and Hugh Allen Arnold; one sister: Jeanette Bryant and one grandson: Kurtis Letney.
Memorial services will be 11:00 am Friday, January 9, 2008 at Northside Baptist Church with Brother Clydell Chapman officiating. Services are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.
Guillermo Dominguez, age 91, passed away Tuesday, January 6, 2008 at his Odessa residence. He was born in Tierras Nuevas, Chihuahua, Mexico to Matias and Gregoria (Madrid) Dominguez. He was a farm laborer. He was Catholic.
He is survived by his wife: Maria Dominguez of Odessa; son: Manuel Dominguez of Odessa; three brothers: Petronilo Dominguez of Hobbs, NM, Matias Dominguez and Lucio Dominguez, both of Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico; two sisters: Modesta Madrid of Van Horn, TX and Gregoria Dominguez of Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico; two grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be said 7:00 pm Thursday, January 8, 2009 at Acres West's 24 hour Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 1:00 pm Friday, January 9, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church officiated by Father Joe Uecker. Interment will follow at Los Angeles Garden of Ector County Cemetery. Linda Love Zambrano was born Monday, July 22, 1957 in Crane, TX to Zearl and Wilma Helen (Bearden) Schmitto. She was the mother of two daughters: Stephanie Lynn and Cindi Leann. She married Abel Zambrano on August 3, 1989 in Odessa. She was a registered nurse and worked for 33 years in nursing. She was an ER nurse in Monahans, Crane, Midland and Odessa at ORH and MCH. She was a very caring nurse and was loved by many in the medical field. On Wednesday, January 7, 2009, she passed away at Medical Center Hospital.
Linda was always willing to help others out and was a very supportive, wonderful friend. She was a loving wife, mother, and Nanna (but didn’t want to be called Grandmother.) She always went the extra mile for others and will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her husband: Abel Zambrano of Odessa; two daughters: Stephanie Acosta and husband Larry Acosta, Jr. and Cindi McDavid and husband Marcus, all of Odessa; her step-father: Ron Hardwick of Del Rio, TX; one sister: Norma Thornton and husband Sam of Bedford, TX: one brother: Boyd Paladin Schmitto of McCamey, TX; four brothers-in-law: Daniel Zambrano of Odessa, Tony Zambrano and wife Margie of Arkansas, Art Zambrano and wife Jeanine of South Dakota, Sam Zambrano and wife Hope of California; and four grandchildren: Marcus McDavid Jr., Chloe Nicole Acosta, Taliyah McDavid, and Asyah DeSha McDavid; one nephew: Casey Johnson of Keller, TX and niece Mia Linda Schmitto of McCamey, TX.
She was preceded in death by her father: Zearl Schmitto and mother: Wilma Helen Hardwick.
Visitation will be Saturday from 8 am to 8 pm, Sunday from 1 pm to 8 pm, and Monday from 8 am until the services. Funeral services will be 8 pm Monday, January 12, 2009 at Acres West Funeral Chapel officiated by Chaplain Farrell Ard. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Monica Kay (Bonner) Jones, much beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt, and loyal friend, died at home in Odessa January 2, 2009 at the age of 31.
She was born November 14, 1977 in Big Spring, TX to Bonnie (Dobbins) Fikes and David Bonner. Monica was preceded in death by her mom and her maternal grandfather: Al Dobbins.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughter: Journey Lynn Jones and husband: Jeremy Jones of the home; sister: Heather Ann (Bonner) Hill of Odessa; sister-in-law: Jeanna Williams of Lake Wales, Florida; brother and sister-in-law: Steven and Janessa Greene of Lubbock; brother-in-law: Richard Jones, Jr. of El Reno, Oklahoma; father: David Bonner; mother and father-in-law: Deanna and Brent Repstine of Lubbock; and father-in-law: Richard Jones of El Reno, Oklahoma. Surviving aunts and uncles include: Ronnie Dobbins, Allyn Dobbins, and Roy Dobbins of Odessa, Roseanne Dobbins of Arizona, Stanley and Patty Brown of Lubbock, Mertin (Buzzee) of Lamesa, Texas and Aunt Sherry of Colorado. Monica left behind a niece that was very close to her heart: Autumn Denise Mercer and Alana Jean Hill and two nephews: Andrew Lewis Hill and Ayden Andreas Sanchez (Bean), all of Odessa, and Seth and Jaci Williams of Phoenix, Arizona as well as many cousins. Special friends to help remember her life are Shelly, Robin, and Pat, Wallace and Leticia, Brandy and Leonard, Toni and Michael Thames, and Amanda Williams all of Odessa.
Special thanks to Carol, David, Allan, and Angela for all the love and support throughout the years. They have loved and taken care of Monica like she was another daughter, sister, and aunt.
Her family and many good friends will miss her special brand of brilliance, long spirited conversations, daily visits, and faithful friendship. She was an inspiration and courageous model for overcoming adversity. Monica was loved and her unique character will always be remembered and cherished.

Robert Allen Dodge, age 65 of Odessa, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2009 at Medical Center Hospital. He was born May 22, 1943 in California. He was a retired mechanic. He was a US Navy veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Madron of Odessa; two brothers: Walter Dodge of Cottonwood, Arizona and William Dodge of Escalante, Utah and one sister: Ann Sobley of Everett, Washington.
Visitation will take place from 8:00 am until 8:00 pm, Monday, January 12, 2009 at Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Elena De Lao Lozano, age 60, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2009 at her home in Odessa. She was born August 18, 1948 in Monahans, TX to the late Manuel E. De Lao and Jesusita S. (Mendoza) De Lao. She was a cook at the Ector County Detention Center. She was a member of the Highway Temple Assembly of God and Church of Christ.
She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She loved to cook and do for others. Elena was always ready to help others where ever she was needed. She loved music and loved to dance.
She is survived by her son: Noel Lozano and wife Gabbie of Crane; two daughters: Lisa Lozano and Cynthia Lozano and husband Harvey Payen, all of Odessa; one sister: Teresa De Lao Moreno and husband Ernest Moreno of Texas City, TX; four grandchildren: Zenas Dominguez of Carlsbad, NM, Noel Lozano Jr., Kaleb Lozano and Zaniel Payen, all of Odessa; one great-grandson: Zenas Dominguez, Jr. of Carlsbad, NM; two nieces: Christie Ramirez and Carol Fairchild, both of Texas City; numerous cousins including Lollie Olivas; father of her children and special friend: Frank Lozano, Jr. and special friends: Jesus and Mary Ontiveroz.
A prayer service will be held at Acres West Funeral Chapel at 7:00 pm Friday, January 16, 2009. Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Saturday, January 17, 2009 at Highway Temple Assembly of God and Church of Christ, 3414 Santa Rosa, Odessa, officiated by Pastor Betty Yokham. Bruce Collin Fox passed away January 13, 2009 at his home in Odessa after a brief illness at the age of 51. He was born May 28, 1957 in Odessa to Dorothy Lee Fox and Jerry Lee Fox. His father preceded him in death. He was a machinist, a hard worker who loved his work. He was a devoted son. He talked with his Lord early each morning.
He is survived by his wife and dearest friend: Lisa. Although they were high school sweethearts, they were separated for several years, only to reunite. He is also survived by his mother: Dorothy of Odessa; brothers: Douglas Fox of Odessa and Jerry Fox, Jr. of Roanoke, VA; sister: Joy Ellen Babcock of Clinton, IL and Donna Spratt of Midland; son: Jamie Richard Fox of Portland, OR; many cousins across the country; his Aunt Madeline Wood of Pasadena, TX and his Uncle Gerald Dean Lee of Los Angeles, CA.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 am Monday, January 19, 2009 at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 201 East 91st St. Odessa, TX, officiated by Pastor Razon. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Henry Greg Greer, age 89, passed away Thursday, January 15, 2009 at Hospice House of Odessa. He was born in McNeil, Arkansas. He was a retired pumper for Phillips Petroleum. He was a US Army veteran. He was Baptist.
He is survived by one son: Terry Don Greer of Turner Town, TX; one daughter: Virginia Ulery of Odessa; one sister: Cecile Griffin of White Oak, TX; ten grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents: John Stanley Greer and Carrie Alice (McLaughlin) Greer; his wife: Myrtle Greer; one son: Henry Wayne Greer; eight brothers: Johnny, Edwin, Charlie, Barnie, Guy, B.G., Bernice and Duke Greer; and two sisters: Mattie Mae Kirkpatrick and Lenora Haulk.

William Garten Payne, age 71, of Odessa passed away Thursday, January 15, 2009 at his residence. He was born in Colorado City, TX on Saturday, October 16, 1937 to Jesse G. Payne and Neva L. Payne. He was a truck driver.
Bill is survived by his “Mom” Madge Payne of Stephenville, TX and his previous wife: Jan Payne of Albuquerque, NM; two sisters: Virginia Priddy of Stephenville, TX and Betty Miller of Lubbock, TX; two brothers: Wayne Payne of San Antonio, TX and Buddy Payne of Tyler, TX; three children: Vikki Campos, Lana Perez and husband Eric, and Travis Payne; eight grandchildren: Amber Campos and husband Juan Murguia, Christian Perez, Briana Perez, Nadia Jianisirat, Alize Perez, Julian Payne, Sophia Perez, and Eric Perez, Jr. (E.J.); two great-grandchildren: Juan Antonio Murguia and Elliana Teresa Murguia; nine nieces and four nephews; two previous children-in-law: Rush Jianisirat and Jennifer Cintas; dearest friends: Archie Lueras, J.W. Collins, Floyd Cockrun and Steve Walker.
He was preceded in death by his father: Jesse G. Payne, his birth mother: Neva L. Payne, and his first wife: Joyce Payne.
