Diego Madrid |

Diego Madrid, age 74, was called home on Monday, March 2, 2009 at Hospice House of Odessa. He was born in Presidio, TX on November 13, 1934 to Santiago and Praxedis (Gonzales) Madrid. He was an oilfield laborer. He was Catholic. Mr. Madrid leaves behind six children: three sons: Dino Contreras, Angel Madrid, and Arturo Madrid, and three daughters: Delma Contreras, Hilda Madrid, and Sandra Guerrero, all of Odessa. He is also survived by one brother: Andy Madrid of Odessa; and three sisters: Frances Lujan and Antonia Ramirez, both of Odessa, and Manuela Gonzales of Greeley, Colorado; fifteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters: Juana Rivas and Maria de la Luz Hernandez. Rosary will be said 7:00 pm Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Friday, March 6, 3009 at San Juan Catholic Church, 905 Edgeport Dr. Odessa, TX officiated by Fr. Mark Woodruff. Interment will be 5:00 pm Friday, March 6, 2009 at Desert Hill Cemetery in Presidio, TX. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Mildred
A. Hardy, age 93, of Odessa, passed away on Thursday, March 5, 2009
at Seabury Nursing Center in Odessa. She was born in David, TX on
February 22, 1916 to Augustus and Ruth Schuster. She was a retired
dorm mother for Odessa College.
She is
survived by her daughter: Kathryn Gayle Robins of Odessa; three
grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Ellis Hardy, and one son: Phillip Austin Robins.
Services
will be held at a later date. Services are entrusted to Acres West
Funeral Chapel.

Maria Valenzuela Flores, age 62, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at Hospice House of Odessa. She was born in Odessa on August 12, 1946 and was a lifetime resident.
A retired waitress, Maria loved to cook and made wonderful tortillas, enchiladas and menudo. Her refrigerator was always open to the kids. She was a loving mother and grandmother whose children and grandchildren always knew they could come to her for advice or a sympathetic ear. She liked to cruise around looking at everyone’s house and checking up on her family and loved dogs. Maria was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Those left to cherish her love and memory include six daughters: Kimberly Flores, Valerie Flores, Maria Flores Gonzalez Ibarra, Delma Flores, Beatrice Flores, and Diana Flores, all of Odessa; one brother: Juan Flores of Odessa; five sisters: Olivia Flores, Connie Flores, Cruz Flores, Josie Flores, and Susie Flores, all of Odessa; fourteen grandchildren and twenty-nine great-grandchildren.
Maria was preceded in death by her parents: Juan and Mariana (Valenzuela) Flores and her husband: Amador Gonzalez.
Rosary will be said 7:30 pm Thursday, March 12, 2009 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Friday, March 13, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church officiated by Father Mark Miller. Interment will follow at the Rose Hill Garden section of Ector County Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Arthur ‘Lynn’ White |

Arthur ‘Lynn’ White, age 66, died Thursday, March 5, 2009, at his home in Midland. He was born Friday, November 6, 1942 in Leesville, Vernon Parish, Louisiana to the late Charles and Mary (Haynie) White.
A US Air Force veteran, he had retired from Phillips Petroleum as an electrician. Lynn was an outdoorsman and loved spending his time fishing.
He is survived by two daughters, Cynthia Lopez of Odessa and Cheryl Stark of Bedford, Texas. He is also survived by step-daughter, Amy Parker of Midland; and step-son, Sean Lyssy of Corpus Christi, one half-brother, James White of Jacksboro, Texas and his step-mother, Mamie Lorraine White of Jacksboro, Texas, ten grandchildren, one great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
Art was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane (Smith) White, three brothers, Charles, W. R. “Bill” and Donald and two sisters, Melba Bowers and Barbara Rudd. He was also preceded in death by two half-brothers, Dennis and John.
Memorial services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Saturday, March 14, 2009 at Acres West Funeral Chapel with Pastor James Washburn officiating.

Carmen
Tersero Orozco, age 87, of Odessa died Friday, March 13, 2009 at
Medical Center Hospital. He was born in Redford, TX on July 14, 1921
to Andres and Andrea (Tersero) Orozco. He was a Mason. He was a US
Army Veteran.
He is
survived by one sons: Carmen Orozco, Jr of Midland; step-son: Arturo Lujan of
Arlington, TX and four daughters: Nellie Hanson of Alpine, TX, Lydia
Carlson and Amparo Saenz, both of Kermit, Andrea Garcia of Odessa and
two step-daughters: Rosa Holguin of Odessa and Carmela Perez of
Arlington, TX.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife: Rosa Ruiz Orozco.
Funeral
services will be held at a later date in Redford, TX. Arrangements
are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Irigoyen Lopez, age 23, passed away Saturday, March 14, 2009 at his
Odessa home. He was born in Chihuahua, Mexico. He worked in
security.
He is
survived by his parents: Armando and Maria del Refugio (Irigoyen)
Lopez of Odessa; one brother: Edgar Lopez of Odessa; and two
sisters: Nubia and Karen Lopez, both of Odessa.
Funeral
services will be 9:00 am Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at Iglesia del
Camino, 903 South CR West, officiated by Pastor Humberto Porras.
Pallbearers will be Efrain Fabela, Edgar Lopez, Armando Lopez, Adan
Fabela, Omero Fabela, and Daniel Irigoyen. Interment will
follow at Los Angeles Garden of Ector County Cemetery. Arrangements
are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Angel Sebastian Bugayong, was borrowed from Heaven on March 14, 2009 for eighteen minutes before he was returned to Our Lord. He was born at Odessa Regional Hospital to Pete Bugayong Jr. and Michelle L. Montoya. In addition to his parents, he leaves behind a large family. They include his paternal grandparents: Pete and Gabriela Bugayong of Odessa; maternal grandparents: Edmundo Montoya of Goldsmith and Belia Montoya of Odessa; honorary grandmother: Rosa Barragan of Odessa; three brothers: Pete Bugayong III, Timothy Bugayong, and Reymundo White, Jr.; one sister: Arissa Bugayong; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins, including: Diane Jimenez of Juarez, CH, Mexico, Leticia Montoya and Rosalinda Montoya of Odessa; Eddie Carrasco of Farwell, TX, Nora Juarez, April Lopez, Stephanie Bugayong, and Tiffany Bugayong, all of Odessa. He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents and one sister: Claudia Bugayong. Graveside services will be 10:00 am Wednesday, March 18, 2009 officiated by Pastor John Lyons at Los Angeles Garden of Ector County Cemetery. Honorary pallbearers will be Gilbert Barragan, Joe Rodriguez, Raul Rodriguez, Jaime Zubiate, and Saul Benavides. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Alicia Sanchez Carrasco, age 77, of Odessa, passed on to be with Our Heavenly Father on Wednesday, March 18, 2009 at Presbyterian Hospital of Denton. She was born in Escobillas, Manuel Benavides, Mexico to Jose and Andrea (Almanzan) Sanchez on July 22, 1931. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband: Salvador Carrasco of Odessa; three sons: Jose Carrasco and Ricardo Carrasco, both of Odessa, and Elpidio Carrasco of San Antonio, TX; one daughter: Juanita Carrasco Franco of Denton, TX; five brothers: Gardencio Sanchez of Goldsmith, Ron Sanchez of Denton, Efrain Sanchez and Anselmo Sanchez, both of Odessa, and Arnulfo Sanchez of Andrews; four sisters: Concepcion Ortiz of Odessa, Romelia Armendariz of Fort Stockton, and Rosa Rangel and Nora Vasquez, both of Andrews; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Rosary will be said 7:30 pm Thursday, March 18, 2009 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be 2:00 pm Friday, March 20, 2009 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church officiated by Deacon Ruben Reyes. Interment will follow at Los Angeles Garden of Ector County Cemetery. Leticia Porras Diaz, age 48, of Odessa, passed away Friday, March 20, 2009 at Medical Center Hospital. She was born in Palomas, Mexico to Juan Porras and Luciana Valenzuela on February 16, 1961. Leticia loved to travel, especially to Ruidoso, NM. She was head housekeeper for Holiday Inn for many years. She was dedicated to her job and was a hard worker. She was ambitious, generous, and had a zest for life. She was a happy person, whose joy was her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her husband: Hector Diaz of Odessa; her parents: Juan Rios Porras and Luciana Valenzuela of Mexico; two daughters: Claudia Vasquez and April Vasquez and husband Laman Dominguez, all of Odessa; one brother: Arturo Porras and wife Irene of Odessa; three sisters: Mikaela Bustamante and husband Eduardo of Andrews, Manuela Salcido and husband Inez of Odessa, and Olivia Hernandez and husband Manuel of Mexico; and two grandchildren: Hannah Ramos and Laman Dominguez II. Leticia was preceded to Heaven by her sister: Juana Porras de Carrasco. Rosary will be said 7:00 pm Monday, March 24, 2009 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. She was a waitress. She is survived by two sons: Billy Camp, Jr. of Odessa and Tony Camp of Jefferson, TX; one daughter: Karen Camp Stevens of Odessa; one sister: Joyce Redwine of Eldorado, TX; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Billy Lee Camp, Sr; a sister: Dolores Ingram; brother: Harold Taliaferro; and a sister-in-law: Dorothy Taliaferro. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, March 25, 2009 at Rose Hill Garden of Ector County Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Jimmy Taliaferro. Texas. She was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She was a homemaker
and full time mother.
She is survived by
her biological mother: Louella Williams of Beaver Falls, PA, and
adoptive mother: Patricia E. Gregg of El Paso, Texas; two
daughters: Amber Nicole Grant of Mankato, MN and Kristin Michelle
Delis of Odessa, Texas; one son: David Carl Delis of Mankato,
MN; four brothers: Steven Ray Bearden of El Paso, Texas, Douglas
Troy Bearden of Fresno, CA, Bernard Etherington of Claysville, PA.
and Bryan Keith Etherington of Council Bluffs, IA; one sister:
Sirita Ann Urbina of Odessa, Texas.
Funeral services
will be Friday, March 27, 2009 at 1:00 pm at Acres West 24 Hr
Chapel, officiated by Major Hughes. Interment will follow at Los
Angeles Gardens of Ector County Cemetery. Pallbearers
will be Raymond Cox, Steven Bearden, Ricardo Urbina, Justin Folmer,
Kevin Lipe, and Darrell Emery. Arrangements are entrusted
