LeeAnn Urias-Tercero, age 25, passed from this life on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at Medical Center Hospital. She was born in Alpine, TX on April 14, 1984 to Facundo and Irene (Victorino) Urias. LeeAnn married Andrés Tercero on Valentine’s Day of 1999. She worked in food services for ECISD. Those left to cherish her love and memory are her husband: Andrés Tercero of Odessa; two sons: Andrés "A. J." Tercero, Jr and Alexavier Rene Tercero, both of Odessa; one daughter: Alexis Nicole Tercero of Odessa; father: Facundo Urias of Chihuahua, Mexico; mother: Irene Urias of Odessa; one brother: Ismael Urias of Odessa; and one sister: Irene Sanchez of Odessa. Rosary will be said 7:00 pm Monday, September 14, 2009 at Acres West 24 Hour Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, officiated by Fr. Mark Miller. Pallbearers will be Aaron Hernandez, Andrés Tercero, Auden Tercero, Benancio Tercero, Jr., Ismael Urias, Reyes Victorino, Ricky Victorino, and Jesse Victorino. Odessa residence. She was born in Clinton, Arkansas to John
Walter Hoyle and Nellie Jo (Cooley) Hoyle.
She is survived by her mother: Nellie Hoyle of
Odessa; two
brothers: Johnnie Carol Hoyle of Blackwell , TX and Bransford Lanny
Hoyle of Ballinger, TX; and one sister: Elizabeth "Liz" Bishop of
Odessa.
Services
will be privately held. A visitation will be Saturday,
September 12, 2009 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West

| George Robert Peer |

George Robert Peer age 84, passed away peacefully on Sept. 11, 2009 surrounded by his family.
He was born on July 29 , 1925 in Center, MO to Rex Peer and Wilma Parham Peer. He proudly served his country by enlisting in the Marine Corp and participated in the invasion and capture of Iwo Jima in World War 11. He was wounded in action and was awarded the Purple Heart for his bravery on Feb. 19th, 1945. George met the love of his life and was married to Wanda Laveta Cunningham on Feb. 2, 1952. They were married for 57 years and out of that union produced two children. He was a Journeyman Electrician and retired through IBEW. His life consisted of working and providing for his family. He was a faithful member of the West Odessa First Baptist Church for 25 years, where he served as Treasurer and a Trustee during that time. He especially loved to attend the Women's Ministry on Tuesday morning which he referred to as "The Old Hydes Club". George was a loving Husband, Dad, Grandpa and Great Grandpa. He had a unique sense of humor to everyone he met!
Because of health reasons, George and Wanda reluctantly had to move near their daughter to Cedar Park, TX during the last months of his life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Rex "Shakey" Peer and one sister, Mary Elliott.
Survivors include his wife: Wanda Peer of Cedar Park, TX, one daughter: Karen Hanson (Larry) of Cedar Park, TX, one son: Keith Peer (Kitty) of Lubbock, TX and five grandchildren: Ginger Mayfield (Ashley) of Cedar Park, TX, Jennifer Wenger (Jesse) of Denton, TX, Joshua Peer (Kari) of Odessa, TX, Jacob Peer (Rebekah) of Lubbock, TX, Chance Hanson (Bethany) of Cedar Park, TX, one step grandchild: Sara Jeffrey of Las Cruces, NM, and ten great-grandchildren: Tytus, Matthew, Patrick, Briana, Lawson, McKenna, Brandon, Kori Rain, Reese and Cash. Other survivors include four sisters-in- law, two brothers-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews including the "Elliott Clan".
The viewing will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 15th from 4:00 - 8:00 pm at Acres West in Odessa, TX. Services will be held on Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at 10:00 am at Acres West Funeral Chapel with the Reverend A.D. Kyle officiating. Graveside service to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Odessa, TX. In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested any donations be made to the Humane Society on Mockingbird Lane in West Odessa as George loved animals. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Thomas Alexander Choate Sr. passed away on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at his residence in Odessa. He was born in El Paso, Texas on Tuesday, October 4, 1949 to Clarence Barton Choate, Sr. and Mary Florence Guiterrez. He married the love of his life, Nancie Choate, on July 19, 1986 in Odessa. He was a correctional officer for Cornell Unit in Big Spring for twelve years. He enjoyed fishing, wrestling, camping and most of all, spending time with his grandchildren. Everyone who knew him will miss him dearly. Those left to cherish his memory are his sons: John and Tommy Choate, Jr. of Odessa; daughters: Shelly Stribling and husband Stacy of Midland, Christy Dickman and husband Casey of Odessa and Di Dammie Austin of Midland,; one brother: CB Choate Jr. and wife Kathy of Odessa; two sisters: Alice Mahurin and Sadie Reams of Midland; seven grandchildren: Dusti Dunham, Alyssa Chapman, Travis Pardue, Noble Stribling, Jacob Pardue, Skyler Dickman and Kayla Dickman; two great-grandchildren: Willow Ramirez and Jocelynne Chapman and his cherished buddy Brewster. Those preceding him in death are his parents and his wife. Services are scheduled for Friday, September 18, 2009 at 2:00 pm at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Brother Roy Jones will be officiating. Shirley Cuba (Edgar) Quick, age 73, of Midland, passed away on Wednesday, September 16, 2009, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. She was born in Carlsbad, NM on September 27, 1935 to Loy and Honor Mae (Stripling) Edgar. She worked for General Tire for many years and later worked in retail sales for Kirby, selling their shampooer. She is survived by her four daughters: Evelyn Evans of Odessa, Katherine Calvert of Fort Worth, Beverly Hatfield of Dallas, and Diana Bynum of Los Angeles, Calif.; two sisters: Mryna Shockle of Tyler and Joy Wimberly of Midland; two brothers: Richard Edgar of Visalia, Calif. and Charlie Edgar of Coolidge, Ariz.; fifteen grandchildren: Jessica, Amanda, Jimmy, Rodney, Justin, Tyler, Paul Michael, Tracie, Jeremy, Dustin, Michael, Jason, Angela, Veronica and Susan; and seven great-grandchildren: Dylan, Hunter, Koby, Tylor, Cheyenne, Chloe, and Teonna. Jerry Lynn McCord, age 67, passed from this life on September 17, 2009 at Odessa Regional Medical Center. He was born in Eastland, TX on April 3, 1942 to Raymond S. McCord and Mary Spurlen McCord. He served in the US Army (stationed in Germany) during the Vietnam War. Jerry worked in the oilfield for 32 years. He was a plant operator for American Oil and Gas Company. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Those left to cherish his love and memory include four daughters: Joyclynn Baker of Oklahoma, Jacinda Meek of San Angelo, TX, Kari Cooksey and Carol McCord, both of Odessa; one brother: Phillip McCord of Odessa; three sisters: Virginia Gregston of Arizona, Katherine Spear of Alvin, TX and Toni Livingston of Midland; fourteen grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Visitation at the funeral home will begin Sunday, September 20, 2009 at 1:00 pm. Memorial services with military honors will be 7:00 pm Monday, September 21, 2009 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Florence (Mercer) Garner, age 90, passed away Saturday, September 19, 2009 at her Odessa home. She was born October 12, 1918 to Walt and Sarah (Roberts) Mercer. She married Houston Garner in Breckenridge, TX on September 25, 1938. After almost 63 happy years together, he preceded her in death on July 10, 2001. She was a homemaker; beloved sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the Church of Christ. Those left to cherish her love and memory include two daughters: Delores Garner and Pat Carrell and husband Doug, all of Odessa; one son: Bill Edd Garner of Odessa; her sister: Lorraine Latner of Breckenridge, TX; brother: Marshall Mercer and wife Nell of Breckenridge; three grandchildren: Danny Kirby, Ricky Kirby and wife Tammy, and Jamie Kirby and wife Dawn; and nine great-grandchildren: Kenneth, Dakota, Sheyenne, Rado, Shelby, Acelyn, McKenzie, Mahailey and Mariah. Her parents, husband, and two sisters: LaVerne Mercer and Minnie Lee Mercer, preceded her in death. James Taylor “Jim” Harris, age 70, passed from this life on Saturday, September 19, 2009 at his Odessa residence. He was born October 14, 1938 in Perryville, Arkansas to Otis Taylor and Lenora Bell (Holbrook) Harris. He grew up in Imperial. Jim married Linda Carol Coppedge in Odessa June 25, 2005. He was a member of West Side Baptist Church. He traveled the world in his work as a welder. He and his family lived for 5 years in Alaska, as well as spending time in Russia, the North Sea, Scotland, and offshore in the Gulf of Mexico. The Gulf was his favorite. He enjoyed deer hunting, fishing, crafts and metal art. Anything he saw that was different, he tried to perfect in his own way. Those left to cherish his love and memory include his wife: Linda Harris of Odessa; one son: Jimmy Harris and wife Nancy of Odessa; three daughters: Debbie Chandler and husband Dudley of Midland, Vicki Moore of Brady, and Katy LeVacy of Krum, TX; two step-daughters: Christie Huff of Odessa and Kimberly Badgwell of California, MD; one brother: Jerry Harris of Mexico; eight grandchildren: Hayden, Courtney, Cegourney, Laramie, Colton, Stephanie, Alexandria, and Keziah; and one great-granddaughter: Cadance. He also leaves behind a very special friend: Bob Lovingood. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother: John Harris. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Funeral services to honor Jim’s memory will be 10:00 am Wednesday, September 23, 2009 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jimmy Braswell. Curtis and Laveda Warren. She was a member of Bible Baptist Church. She was a
store clerk. Cindy married Jerry Young August 22, 1972 in
Plainview, TX.

left to cherish her memory are her

brother-in-law: Perry Young of Odessa; sister-in-law: Betty
Jean Richards of Mannford, OK; mother-in-law: Mildred Young; and two nephews: Scott and Preston.

Sunset Memorial Gardens, officiated by Pastor John Lyons.

He was born November 9, 1944 to George Cliffton and Lavida (Baily) Redding in Lubbock, TX. He married Eva Bures in Donalsonville, GA on January 25, 1965. He was a wire line operator. Teddy is survived by his wife Eva “Pepper” Redding of Odessa; four sons: Ricky Redding, Terry Redding, Gary Redding, and Cory Redding, all of Odessa; and five grandchildren. Memorial services will be 10:30 am Saturday, September 26, 2009 at Terrace Hill Baptist Church, officiated by Pastor Brian Serrano. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Donna Browning Tibbetts, age 37, passed away Thursday, September 24, 2009 at Medical Center Hospital. She was born in Dover, Delaware on January 10, 1972 to Millard Parker Tibbetts and Robin Lyn (Browning) Tibbetts. She was a homemaker. She was a member of Zion Ministries. She had a deep faith in the Lord. She was a unique individual; fun-loving and beautiful with a great personality. Though a little on the wild side, she was loving and giving and completely devoted to her grandbabies. She will be greatly missed. Harvey
Preston Hall, age 76, went home to be with the Lord on Monday,
September 28, 2009 from Medical Center Hospital of Odessa. He was
born Friday, January 13, 1933 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Harvey and
Panzy (Walker) Hall.
He
worked at Bowen's Truck and Automotive for many years, where
he treated Bobby Bowen like a son. He was a decorated veteran of the
US Navy, having bravely served for four years. Harvey loved to drink
and talk, and was a friend to all he met. He was well loved by his
family and many friends.
He is
survived by three children: Keith, David, and Tammy Hall, all of
Odessa; two grandchildren: Erica Bomar and Cody Wauqua; and two
great-grandchildren.
Memorial
services will be 6:00 pm Thursday, October 1, 2009 at Acres West
Funeral Chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral
Chapel.
