Dickie Earl Fulfer

Dickie Earl Fulfer, age 60, passed away on Monday, March 15, 2010, at his home in Odessa.  He was born in Odessa.  He worked in an auto body shop.

He is survived by his wife: Daisy Fulfer of Odessa; one son:  Dickie Lee Fulfer of Beaumont, Texas; mother: Bonnie Foster of Odessa; sister:  Verna Melot of Odessa; three brothers:  Rodney Fulfer of Lake Elsinore, Calif., Charlie Fulfer of Hawkins, Texas and David Fulfer of Odessa; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.      

The family will receive friends Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Acres West Funeral Chapel from 7 to 10 pm.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel and Crematory.

Ernest Gilbert Byer, Jr.
Ernest Gilbert Byer, Jr., age 19, passed from this life on Sunday, March 14, 2010, at his Odessa residence.  He was born in Odessa on July 21, 1990.  He was a college student.
 
He is survived by his father:  Ernest Gilbert Byer, Sr. of Odessa and two sistersGinger Marie Mathison of Indianapolis, Ind. and Sadie Faith Byer-Rodriguez of Odessa.

His mother, Cynthia Elizabeth (Jones) Byer, preceded him in death on April 15, 2007.
 
Funeral services will be at Acres West Funeral Chapel at 3:00 PM Monday, March 22, 2010, Pastor Carrie Stanton officiating.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel and Crematory. 

Terry Dewayne Allen

Terry Dewayne Allen, age 56, of Odessa, Texas, passed away Sunday, March 14, 2010 in Navasota, Texas.  He was born in Big Lake, TX to John and Katherene (Wash) Allen on September 7, 1953.  He was a laydown machine operator.  He was a member of Zion Ministries.

He is survived by two sisters:  Judy Thomas and Freda Williams of Odessa; one brother:  Jimmy D. Allen of Odessa; nieces and nephews:  Jody William, Kimberly Norton, Heather Thomas, Jimmy Allen Jr., Laura Green, John Allen, and Daniel Allen, all of Odessa, Joshua Brindle of Maryland, and Jessie Allen of Gardendale; several great-nieces and nephews and many good friends who are saddened by his death. 

His parents:  John and Katherene Allen; and brothers:  Danny Allen, Kenneth Allen, and John Wash, preceded him in death. 

Memorial Services will be 6:00 pm Saturday, March 27, 2010, at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Bro. Dewey Blevins.  Arrangements entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel and Crematory.   

Ima Jean "Jeanie" Elam
Ima Jean "Jeanie" Elam, age 69, passed away on Monday, March 15, 2010 at Medical Center Hospital.  She was born in Lake Providence, LA on February 10, 1941 to the late O.L. and Ina L. (Thompson) Herrington.  She was a waitress.
 
Survivors include her husband:  Bill Elam of Odessa; two sons:  Richard Elam of Odessa and Ronnie Elam of Apache Junction, AZ; four daughters:  Julie Cichy of Frisco, TX, Connie Harris of San Antonio, Pam Robbins of The Colony, and Vickie Rossell of Apache Junction, AZ; one sister:  Carolyn Culver of Omaha, Arkansas; fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
 
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Acres West Funeral Chapel.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel and Crematory.

Rachel Galindo Elizondo
Rachel Galindo Elizondo, age 53, passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Hospice House of Odessa.  She was born in Pecos, TX August 9, 1956 to Marcos A. Galindo and Alicia (Hernandez) Galindo.  Her parents preceded her in death.
 
She is survived by her husband:  Theodore Elizondo of Odessa; three brothers:  Ector Galindo of Pecos, TX, Marcos Galindo of Odessa, TX, Joe Luis Galindo of Fort Stockton, TX; and two sisters: Polly Chandler of Pecos, TX and Janie Jaramillo of Odessa, TX.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Dream Center Church at 1618 E. Murphy in Odessa officiated by Pastor Jimmy Dennis.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel and Crematory.

Leisa Michelle Couch

Leisa Couch was born on April 17, 1963 in Amherst, Lamb County, Texas to James and Naomi Jarrett.  She passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas.  She suffered from Lupus.

Leisa married the love of her life, Glenn Couch, on September 22, 1981. They were married for 28 years.

She was a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, and grandmother.  She was a very loving, gentle, and forgiving person. She was a big helper and always there for those who needed her. Leisa was a good cook. She was a member of the Beit HaDerekh Messianic Congregation.  She read and spoke the Hebrew language. She was a Messianic dancer. 

She was preceded in death by her father: James Jarrett.

Leisa is survived by her husband: Glenn Couch of Odessa, TX; son: Timothy Couch and wife Sara of Odessa, TX; two daughters: Tasha Lodge and husband Patrick of Odessa, TX, and Amber Couch and husband Kevin Wadley of Little Rock, Arkansas; mother:  Naomi Jarrett of Lamesa, TX; three brothers: Jim Jarrett of Odessa, TX, Travis Jarrett of Phoenix AZ, and Mike Jarrett of Lamesa, TX; four sisters: Rhonda Huckins of Claremore, OK, Laura Weatherman and Christi McGee, both of Lamesa, TX, and Dana Womble of Athens, TX; seven grandchildren: Bralea Couch, Matthew Couch, Daniel Lodge, Haleigh Wadley, Gage Wadley, Kolby Wadley, and Ryan Wadley.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am on Monday, March 22, 2010, at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Benjamin Burton and Richard Womble.  Pallbearers will be Aaron Weatherman, Matthew Jarrett, Adam Womble, Kody Amos, Zack Holdridge, and Ethan Weatherman. Honorary pallbearer is Brent Couch.  Interment will follow at Los Angeles Garden of Ector County Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Vickie Lynn Payne

Vickie Payne was born on January 24, 1951 in Abilene, Taylor County, Texas to John Henry Davis and Gloria (Walker) Davis.  She passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2010 at Sienna Nursing Home in Odessa, Texas.

Vickie married the love of her life, Coye Payne, on November 21, 1986

She was preceded in death by her daughter: Tamara Gardner. 

Vickie is survived by her husband: Coye Payne of Odessa, TX; stepmother: Lola Davis of Abilene, TX; son: Dickie Lee Fulfer of Beaumont, TX; two brothers: James Davis of Orlando, FL and Michael Davis of Tilton, RI; two grandchildren: Heather Helton of Plano, TX and Jennifer Gardner of Odessa, TX. 

Funeral services will be 5:00 pm on Tuesday, March 23, 2010, at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Brother Roy Jones.  Interment will be Wednesday, March 24, 2010 at Sunset Memorial Gardens.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel. 

Jessica Rodriguez Urquidi

Jessica Rodriguez Urquidi, age 23, was taken from us suddenly on Thursday, March 18, 2010.  She was born in Fort Stockton, TX on September 14, 1986.  She worked as a waitress at Fast Eddie’s.

Jessica was a beautiful young lady who loved to dance.  She enjoyed talking on the phone and playing on the computer.  She always wore a smile.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband:  Marcos Hernandez of Odessa; mother:  Maria Urquidi of Odessa; grandmother:  Maria Luisa Ramos of Ojinaga, Mexico; one son:  Adrian Ivan Hernandez of Odessa; brother:  Ramon Urquidi Jr. of Odessa; three sisters:  Veronica Alvarado and husband Omar of Houston, Anna L. Urquidi and husband Jose Montes, and Marcela Hernandez and husband Enrique, all of Odessa.

Memorial services will be 7:00 pm Saturday, March 20, 2010 at Acres West Funeral Chapel officiated by Rev. Juan Gaona.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel. 

Jackie Lee “Jack” Brooks

Jackie Lee “Jack” Brooks, age 58, passed away on Friday, March 19, 2010, at his residence in Odessa.  He was born in Eunice, NM on January 24, 1952.  He worked in a warehouse for Weatherford Completion Services for over 30 years.

He was a very caring man who dedicated his life to his job and to his sons.  He loved his grandchildren and his son’s friends.  He enjoyed music, listening to classic rock and playing his guitar.  He also liked western books and movies. 

Jack is survived by his three sons:  Jackson Brooks and Jon Brooks, both of Corpus Christi, and Ben Brooks of Odessa; and two grandchildren:  Caleb and Jocelyn Brooks.

His parents:  Fredrick Brooks and Ruth Alvena (Harrison) Brooks; and three brothers:  Fredrick, Gary, and Steven Brooks, precede him in death.

Services will be held at a later date, with interment at Brunson Memorial Park in Eunice, NM.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel and Crematory. 

Charles Edward Ooley
Charles Edward Ooley, 72, of Odessa, passed away on Sunday, March 21, 2010, at Odessa Regional Medical Center.

He was born in Denver, Colo. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Ooley of Gardendale; son, Sean Andrew Ooley of Gardendale; daughter, Melinda JoAnne Ooley of Gardendale; and two grandchildren.

No services are scheduled at this time. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel of West Odessa.
Robert Einar Sundby

Robert Einar Sundby, age 67, died Wednesday, March 24, 2010, at his home in Odessa, Texas.  He had been in Odessa for over 20 years.  He was born in Wisconsin Rapids, WI on November 21, 1942 to Einar Sundby and Caroline Irene (Fischer) Sundby.  He served our country in the US Navy and worked as a pipe fitter.

He is survived by his sister:   Karleen Sundby and niece:  Sheri Baemmert, both of Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Marvin Luther “Andy” Anderson

Marvin Luther “Andy” Anderson, age 70, passed from this life Thursday, March 25, 2010, at his home in Odessa, Texas.  He was born in Melrose, New Mexico to Earl E. and Bertha Mae Anderson on September 16, 1939. His parents and five brothers:  Frank, Carl, Elmer, Harold, and Clyde Anderson precede him in death. 

He married Martha Polk on October 5, 1991 on his front porch in Odessa.  He served our country in the US Army and worked as a truck driver. 

He is survived by his wife:   Martha Anderson of Odessa; four daughters:  Lisa Bunch of Odessa, Sharron Albright of Aspermont, TX, Billie Sue Slocumb of Odessa, and Latrina Little of Crane; one son:  Darren Lee Anderson of Odessa; three sisters:  Lila Lilly of Odessa, Carrie Ruggles of Lebanon, MO and Alma Freeman of West Branch, Mich.; one brother:  Glenn Anderson of Lake Palestine, TX; fourteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.       

The family will receive friends at Acres West Funeral Chapel on Monday, March 29, 2010 from 6 to 9:00 pm.  Funeral services will be at Faith Community Baptist Church at 10:00 am Tuesday, March 30, 2010, Bro. Wayne Shelton officiating.  Interment will be at Rose Hill Garden of Ector County Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.   

Lee Tillman Harris

Lee Tillman Harris, age 83, passed away on Thursday, March 25, 2010, at Hospice House in Odessa, Texas.  He was born to Charlie Frank Harris and Alpha Susan (Clift) Harris in Cement, Oklahoma on August 22, 1926.  He was an Army Air Corps Veteran.

He is survived by his wife:   Lorene "Rene" Walker Harris of Odessa; daughter:  Karen Jones of Odessa; one son:  Ricky Harris of Midland; sister: Elaine Felton of Chickasha, Oklahoma; brother: Virgil Harris of Weatherford, Oklahoma; and four grandchildren.      

Funeral services will be at Belmont Baptist Church at 2:00 pm Monday, March 29, 2010, Pastor John McLemore officiating.  Interment will follow at Los Angeles Gardens at Ector County Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.  

Memorials in Mr. Harris's name may be made to Hospice House, 903 N. Sam Houston, Odessa, TX 79761.

George "Robert" Heard
George "Robert" Heard, age 57, died Friday, March 26, 2010 at his Odessa home.  He was born in Van Horn, TX.  He was a US Army Veteran.
 
He is survived by his wife:  Holly (Finney) Heard of Odessa; his mother:  Dorothy Olean (Blythe) Heard of Odessa; father:  Robert Glen Heard of Brownwood; two sons:  Robert Heard of Stanton and Chris Lorenz of Lubbock; four daughters:  Shelly Crawford of Pickton, TX, Shana Roberson of Colorado City, and Sheila McDonald and Kay Conley, both of Odessa; two brothers:  Wayne and Rodger Brooks, both of Odessa; one sister:  Patricia Brooks-Dury of Midland; and fifteen grandchildren.
 
Funeral services will be 3:00 pm Sunday, March 28, 2010 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jimmy Braswell.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.
