| Jeffrey Alan (Romeo) Smith |
|
Jeffrey Alan (Romeo) Smith, age 39, went to be with the Lord July 4, 2010 after succumbing to his injuries sustained in a motorcycle wreck June 21, 2010. He was born July 12, 1970 in Galesburg, IL and attended Scottsdale Community College in Arizona. Jeff was a fun loving enjoyable person who never met a stranger. He was Vice-President of the Odessa Chapter of “The Brotherhood of the 74” motorcycle riders and secretary for two years prior to that. He loved to ride with all his brothers and was very active in the club. His hobbies included cooking, computer programming, riding with the Club members, reading, art and going to social gatherings with family and friends. He lives on in our hearts forever. He now rides with God and the road to heaven will be his forever. Survivors include his mother: Deborah Stevenson and husband Kevin Stevenson of Odessa; Father: Richard Smith and wife Carol Edwards of Odessa; Grandmother: Beverly Straight of AZ; Sister: Stephanie Smith of Apache Junction, AZ; Brothers: Rick Smith of Mesa, AZ, Matthew Smith of Nacogdoches, TX and Patrick Smith of Odessa; and was loved by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Jeff loved animals and at the family’s request, memorials are to be made to the Humane Society of Odessa, 7012 Mockingbird Lane, Odessa, TX 79763. Tears that fall and are draped with sorrow, fall not for the dead, but the lonely tomorrow. Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 pm, Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Acres West Funeral Chapel officiated by Bro. Dewey Blevins. Interment will follow at Los Angeles Garden of Ector County Cemetery. Keadon Jaycen Douglas, two months old, passed away on Saturday, July 3,
2010 at Medical Center Hospital. He was born in Odessa to Andrew
Lynn Douglas and Naomi Elizabeth (Steele) Douglas on April 16, 2010.
Survivors include his parents: Andrew and Naomi Douglas of Odessa; maternal grandmother: Cheryl Steel of El Paso; maternal grandfather: William Steele of Sherman, TX; paternal grandparents: Marty and Sheila Douglas of Odessa; and one sister: Jadynn Douglas of Odessa. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Friday, July 9, 2010 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Cecil Maxey. Interment will follow at Los Angeles Garden of Ector County Cemetery. Patricia Ann Woods, age
77, passed from this life on Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at Seabury Center of
Odessa. She was born in
Fort Worth, Texas on September 24, 1932 to James Carney Lagrone and
Bertha Merle (Kail) Lagrone.
She was a Bronchette at Odessa High School and earned her
diploma there. She was a
member of the Baptist Church. Patricia was a people person.
She never met a stranger and loved to talk.
Her enjoyment of food and talking with others served her well in
her career as a waitress.
She worked at the Inn of the Golden West at the Golden Rooster in
Odessa. She always had a
smile for everyone and was the sweetest person you’d ever meet.
Everyone always said, “Your mom is so sweet!”
Those left to cherish her love and memory are her
sons: Wade Woods and Matt
Woods and wife Sheila, all of Odessa and Sam Woods and wife Vicki of
Big Spring; two daughters:
Kathy Schoeppner and husband Sam and Lisa Johnson, all of Odessa; five
grandchildren: Candis and
Amanda Richardson, Marisa Johnson, and Miranda and Ashley Woods; and
one great-grandchild:
Bentley Logan.
Her parents: James and
Bertha Merle Lagrone; husband:
Dwane Woods; and siblings:
Jimmy Lagrone and Murleen Calloway, all precede her in death.

Kathryn Loretta Anderson, age 52, passed away on
Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at her Odessa residence. She was born in
San Angelo, TX on October 16, 1957 to Arlon and Mary "Pat" (Myers)
Cave. She was a certified nurse’s assistant.
She is survived by her mother: Pat Cave of Odessa; two sons: Mac Cave of Lubbock and Chris Anderson of San Diego, CA; two brothers: Larry and Bobby Cave, both of Odessa; one sister: Sherry Little of Odessa; and four grandchildren: Mac Arlon Cave, Jr., Hagan Cave, Nathan Cave, and Tess Aleigh Lackey, all of Odessa.

Alma Jean “Jean” Polston, age 81, passed away on
Wednesday, July 07, 2010 at Hospice House of Odessa. She was born
in Mt. Carmel, Illinois on March 21, 1929 to William Norvel Halfacre
and Fern May (Lynch) Halfacre. She was a homemaker. Survivors are her son: Mike Polston of
Odessa; two brothers: Norvel Halfacre of Odessa and Dale Edward
Halfacre of Mt. Carmel, Ill.; one sister: Mary Lou Slunder of
Princeton, Ind.; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be 3:00 pm Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, officiated by Pastor Wayne Maass. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Carl Thomas Davidson (Baba), age 80, passed from this life on Wednesday, July 7, 2010 at Hospice House of Odessa. He was born on August 19, 1929 in Snomack, OK to Riley Franklin Davidson and Minnie (Durham) Davidson. He served in Korea in the Navy for four years and retired as an electrician for Mobil Oil. He married Jody Little on August 27, 1951 in Odessa .Over 45 years ago, he was burned over 65% of his
body. He also beat cancer.
Through all of this he overcame and never complained.
He had happy sparking eyes and a dry humor. Rarely seen without
a smile, he always kept others amused.
You never met a more content man.
He loved greatly and was greatly loved.
He enjoyed fishing, playing Bingo, watching sports, country
music and dancing. He
recently danced at a wedding with his granddaughters with big bows on
his oxygen tank. He dearly
loved his family and sacrificed much for them over the years. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife: Jody Davidson of Odessa; son: Dr. Dave Davidson (Cindy) of Odessa; three daughters: Jody Ren ée Hollander (Bob) of Odessa, Dee Dee White (Steve) of Saugus, CA, and Lisa Anne Summers (Chuck) of Castaic, CA; brother: Jimmie Davidson (Sandra) of Odessa; sister: Martha Boyd of Odessa; nine grandchildren: Marisa Baker (Clayton), Krystel Fleming (Caleb), Eric White (Emily), Megan Morales (Jonathan), Jared White, Katie Boley (Jeff), Rebecca Jacobs (Matt), Nichole Davidson and Zachary Bolf; three great-grandchildren: Hannah White, Cayden Morales, and Tyson Boley; and two great-grandbabies on the way.The family will receive friends at the funeral home
from 6:30 to 8:00 pm Monday evening.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Tuesday, July 13, 2010 at
Acres West Chapel, officiated by Reggie Baker.
Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Gregorio G. Medrano “Mr. G” age 47, passed away on
Thursday, July 8, 2010 in Fort Worth, TX.
He was born in Odessa on May 9, 1963 to Simon and Lucas G.
(Gonzales) Medrano. He was
an inspector in the oilfield. He is survived by his mother:
Lucas Gonzales Medrano of Odessa; one brother:
Mario Medrano of Odessa; three sisters:
Teresa Madrid, Rosa Martinez, and Gloria Medrano, all of Odessa;
and many nieces, nephews and extended family. His father:
Simon Medrano, and two brothers:
Manuel and Edmundo Medrano, precede him in death.
Rosary will be said 7:00 pm Monday, July 19, 2010 at Acres West 24 Hour
Chapel. Mass of
Christian Burial will be 10:00 am Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at St. Joseph
Catholic Church, officiated by Father Joe Uecker.
Interment will follow at Rose Hill Garden of Ector County
Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be David Madrid, Marco Suchil, Abel Alvarez, Andrew
Medrano, Tito Holguin, Oscar Valenzuela, Anthony Hernandez, and Mario
Nino. Honorary pallbearers will
be Christopher Medrano and Ramon Rodriguez Barreraz (may he rest in

Terrie Rea Rudd, age 54, of Odessa, passed from this life on Sunday,
July 11, 2010 at Medical Center Hospital.
She was born in Odessa on February 25, 1956 to Ulous “Bo” Bothe
and Mary Kail Bothe. She
married Scott Rudd on New Year’s Eve of 2007.
She was a lab tech at Medical Center and her fellow workers
considered her “delightful”.
They looked forward to work just to see Terrie Rea.
Terrie was an outspoken person who told you how it was.
She enjoyed anything with color – flowers and birds, reading and
playing pool. She was on a
pool league for a while and she and her best friend T.L. would go out
together for ladies’ night.
She was a good cook and made an excellent beef stroganoff.
She was the best friend anyone could ask for and a joy to be
around, always smiling with twinkling eyes.
She loved her family and was mom (not step-mother) to her step
children. Jackson was the
light of her life.
She is survived by her husband:
Scott Rudd of Odessa; father:
Bo Bothe and wife Thelma of Daingerfield, TX; mother:
Mary Williams of Odessa; three sons:
Shane Rudd, Chris Rudd, and Jackson Oliver, all of Odessa; two
daughters: Jonica Wilson
of Hughes Springs, TX and Nicole Dow of Odessa; three brothers:
Ebey Bothe of
Odessa, Jaime Williams of Weatherford, and Robert Williams of Salt Lake
City, UT; two sisters: Kim
O’Donnell of Odessa and Janet Allison of Magnolia, Ark.; and twelve
grandchildren. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 pm Wednesday, July 14, 2010. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Becky Hand. Interment will follow at Los Angeles Garden of Ector County Cemetery. Maria Bertha (Baeza) Quinonez, age 68, of Odessa, passed
away on Sunday, July 11, 2010, at Sienna Care Center.
She was born on March 25, 1942 in El Refugio, Mexico to Pedro
and Elotaria (Rubio) Baeza.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic church. She is survived by her daughters:
Geneva Aguilar of Odessa and Martha Camacho of Ojinaga, Mexico;
seven sons: Jesus
Quinonez, Socorro Quinonez and David Quinonez, all of Odessa; Sergio
Quinonez of Gonzales, La. and Felipe Quinonez, Rodrigo Quinonez, Jr.,
and Ruben Quinonez, all of
Ojinaga, Mexico; five sisters: Lazara Gonzalez of Odessa, Elma Gomez of
Midland, Candalaria Modesto of Alpine, Evila Modesto of Ojinaga, and
Maria Levario of Oklahoma City, Okla.; three brothers:
Cruz Baeza, Ciro Baeza,
and Domingo Baeza, all
of Odessa; and numerous
grandchildren. Funeral services will be at a later date in Ojinaga, Mexico. Interment will be at Jardines De San Jose in Ojinaga. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel in Odessa.

Barcie Ann Schoonover left this life to be with
her Lord and Savior on July 12, 2010.
She was born on September
16, 1948 in Ashdown, Arkansas to her parents:
Robert and Rosaile Johnson. Barcie is preceded in death by her parents:
Robert and Rosailie Johnson, grandparents:
Johnson and Ford, and several aunts and uncles. Barcie is survived by her husband and lifetime friend (the love of her life): Ray Schoonover; her best friend: Ed Snyder, one uncle: Garland Ford and wife Shortie; two very dear cousins: Scott Rowell and Sherrie Rowell; and special brother: Robert Prentice.
Barcie is also survived by five sisters:
Cathy Fraley and husband David of Odessa, Martha Pate of
East Texas, Gwendolyn Lout and husband Charles, Adele De’Sha and
husband Steve, and Robin Angelo, all of Odessa; one brother:
Bradley Johnson of East Texas; three special sisters:
Carol Rich, Mary Frazier, and Connie Frietag, all of Odessa;
a special Godchild whom she took under her wing:
Candice Derrick; God nephew: Henry J. Clark III (Bubba); a
host of nieces and nephews; and her special nephew (who she always
said was hers) Joshuwa Collins and wife Amy and their daughters
Tanya and Taije, who loved their Aunt Barcie so much; and many
cousins and friends from the Bingo halls and the South Seas.
Barcie touched everyone’s life with her heart of gold.
She loved all and was loved by all.
Barcie loved red.
Therefore, the family requests that if you attend her services you
wear something red in her honor.
She would love that. |

life on Thursday, July 15, 2010 in Odessa.
She was born in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico on June 9, 1956
to Reynaldo Gevara Pantoja and Juana Carrasco Pantoja.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Catholic church.
She is survived by her daughter:
Martha Yvonne Lopez of Eagle Pass, TX; two sons:
Luis Javier Torres and Pedro Angel Torres, both of Odessa;
four sisters: Graciela
Pantoja, Olivia Miranda, and Blanca Nieto, all of Odessa and Aurora
Santos of Albuquerque, NM; two brothers:
Arnulfo Pantoja of Odessa and Samuel Pantoja of Presidio;
and five grandchildren.
Rosary will be said 7:30 pm Sunday, July 18, 2010 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. on Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at her home in Odessa.
She was born in Big Spring to Joseph B. Moseley and Tassie
(Lawdermilk) Moseley.
She was a homemaker. She is survived by her two sons:
Johnny MacFedries of Odessa and Jackson MacFedries of
Smithton, MO; three sisters, Jody Arnold of Corpus Christi, Laverne
Barber, and Shirley Barrett of Odessa; two grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren.

Lola Beth Lybrand Bee, age 86, passed from this life on Thursday, July 15, 2010 at Lamun-Lusk-Sanchez TX Veterans Home in Big Spring. She was born September 8, 1923 to Kerby “Lefty” Lybrand and Eva Permelia Lybrand in Sulphur Springs, TX. Lola grew up in Wink, Kermit, and Pecos during the Depression. She went to school at Kermit High School and was a Yellow Jacket. She played the clarinet in the band. She joined the Navy after Pearl Harbor and served for two years. She was extremely proud of her service in World War II. She put up with a lot from her boys. She was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother. Her grandkids and great-grandkids were the joys of her life. Lola was a member of the Baptist church. She was a wonderful lady who was loved by all. She never met a stranger. Lola didn’t like driving a car unless it was a standard. She also loved drinking her diet Coke and eating her Cheetos. Lola, I am gonna miss our talks and laughs together. You were like a Mom to me instead of a mother-in-law. You said I was like a daughter you didn’t have. Love you always; you will be in my heart forever, Jeannie. She is survived by four sons: Lawrence Warren Bee, Jr., Lowell Jack Bee and wife Bea, Leonard Craig Bee, and Leslie Leland Bee and wife Jeannie, all of Odessa; grandchildren: Hope Bee, Neal Bee, Sanya Cortez, Patricia Bee, and Wesley Bee; and three great-grandchildren: Ally Bee, Meeghan Cortez, and Kasen Bee. She was preceded on death by her parents: Kirby and Eva Lybrand; husband: Lawrence Warren Bee; sister: Dolly Dimpel; brothers: Cecil Lybrand and Lowell Lybrand. Celeste Looper Upton, 86, was born to Elwood and
Mildred Looper on October 16, 1923 in Webbers Falls, Oklahoma. She
passed away on July 15, 2010 at the Hospice house. On December 7, 1946 she married Lawrence Upton in
Stigler, Oklahoma. They had been married 52 years at the time of his
death in 1999. Celeste is preceded in death by her parents,
husband, sister and brother-in-law, Sybil and Allen Daniel, brother,
Pat Looper, and son-in-law, Larry Porter. Celeste is survived by her daughter, Cheryl
Porter, granddaughters, Misty Upton and Michelle “Renee” Galle, her
husband, Justin, great-grandson, Zachary Upton, sister-in-law, and
Sandra Looper, all of Odessa, Texas. Brother and sister-in-law, Charles
and Billie Looper of Laurence, Kansas and numerous nieces and nephews
and her fur baby and companion sugar. Family visitation will be held at 2:00-4:00pm,
Sunday July 18, 2010 at Acres West Funeral Home. Graveside services
will be 3:00 pm Monday, July 19,2010 at Sunset Memorial Gardens,
