Y’Anna Nevi Sanchez, our beloved Angel, went to be with our Lord on Friday, November 5, 2010. With the short time she was with us, she blessed us with a tremendous amount of laughter, love and joy. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her maternal
great-grandparents: Robert and Pauline Ponce; cousin: Kaliah Garcia;
and paternal great-grandfather: Pedro Sanchez.
Those left to cherish her memory include her
parents: Amanda and Fabian Sanchez of Odessa; ; two brothers: Fabien
Sanchez, Jr and Aries Dorian Sanchez, both of Odessa; grandparents:
Lisa and Ismael Martinez, Chantal Heinen, and Carlos and Elizabeth
Sanchez; great-grandparents: Maria Sanchez and Cecelia and Basilio
Madrid; aunts: Starr Madrid and husband Josh, Laura Belew, Brett
Heinen, Aide Melendez and husband Edgar, Abigail Sanchez, Miranda
Sanchez, and Andrea Sanchez; and uncles: Joseph Martinez and wife
Venessa and Brett Heinen. Y’Anna also had numerous great-aunts and
uncles and many, many cousins.

Guillerma Padilla de Nieto, age 75, passed away on Sunday, November 7, 2010 at Medical Center Hospital. She was born in Cuchillo, Mexico.
Survivors include her husband: Perfecto Nieto of Odessa; son: Ramon Nieto of Ojinaga, MX; daughters: Ana Sanchez of Pecos, Bonnie Dominguez, Nena Garcia, and Imelda Samaniego, all of Odessa, Salina Garcia of Dallas, and Claudia Martinez of Houston; brother: Melquides Padilla of Chihuahua, MX; sisters: Eufemia Fuentes of Odessa and Berta Padilla of Ojinaga, MX; 23 grandchildren; and 31 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at San Miguel Archangel Episcopal Church. Interment will follow at Los Angeles Garden of Ector County Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Erick Nieto, Cristian Nieto, Isaac Rejino, Ever Martinez, Carlos Dominguez, and Stephen Orozco. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Lee Vell Johnson, age 80, of Odessa passed away on Sunday, November 7,
2010, at Buena Vida Nursing Home in Odessa.
He was born on Thursday, February 20, 1930 in Marlin, Falls
County, Texas to the late Lillian Moody and William Johnson.
Lee served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Later, he met
Willie, and the two were married in 1955. They moved to Odessa in 1958.
Lee was a member of the Rose of Sharon Baptist Church.
One of Lee’s favorite pastimes was fishing. He also loved to watch any
kind of sport; especially football. His favorite team was the Cowboys.
Lee also coached Little League baseball.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife: Willie Johnson; two daughters: Yvonne Johnson and Gloria Joyce Davis and husband Chuck; five sons: Roy Johnson and wife Barbara, Larry Johnson, Albert Johnson and wife Gloria, Charles Johnson, Mark Johnson and wife Estella; two sisters: Archie Mae Smith and Bessie Williams; 21 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.
A funeral service with military honors will be held at Acres West Funeral Chapel at 3:30 PM Saturday, November 13, 2010, officiated by Reverend Reggie O’Neal.

April 22, 1921 – November 8, 2010 89 years old
Leona Pasley Collett passed away November 8, 2010 at Hospice House with her beloved daughter by her side.
Leona was born April 22, 1921 in Arkansas. She came to Odessa in 1948 from Texarkana. She was a member of Terrace Hills Baptist Church. Mrs. Collett was a devoted Christian and Republican. She voted in every single election, and strongly encouraged her family to do the same. She never missed a single Rush Limbaugh radio show. He could be heard loud and clear throughout the house and down the street. Leona was loved by everyone she knew. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, always putting everyone else’s needs before hers. She will be missed beyond belief.
Mrs. Collett was preceded in death by her husbands: James Pasley and Harvie Collett; brothers: JC and Andy Fleming; sister: Leota Cunningham; son: Richard Pasley; and grandson: James Lee Pasley.
Survivors are her sons: Leroy “Jim” Pasley and Gary Collett; daughter: Gailya “GiGi” Brown and husband Randy; grandchildren: Toni Brightman, Susan Moore, Natalie Gilmore, Ricky Pasley, Steven Collett, Heather Massey and husband Bobby, Brian Collett and wife Stacy, Bradley Collett, Kent Copeland, and Kyle Copeland; and great-grandchildren: Bryce Gilmore, Nicolas Gilmore, Christopher Brightman, Chelsi Brightman, Colton Moore, Ashton Moore, Catrina Collett, Robby Massey, Seth Pasley, and River Collett.
Funeral services will be 10 am Friday, November 12, 2010 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Pastor Clydel Chapman. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.
Caroline “Kay” Metz/Smith
Caroline “Kay” Metz/Smith of Odessa, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 at Odessa Regional Medical Center. She was born October 2, 1956 to Walter Turner and Tegwen Price in El Paso, Texas. Kay was the most amazing mother, wife, sister, grandma, and great-grandma. She married Tommy Smith March 25, 1997 and loved him with all she had. Kay had six children, all of whom she loved and cared for and gave her last breath to make sure they had, even if she went without. Kay did so much for others, without asking anything in return and always had a smile on her face. Kay now walks hand in hand with Tommy and son Jason, smiling down on us.
She is survived by her son: Sean Metz and wife Jade of Odessa; daughters: Tracy Metz, Misty Metz, Ashli Smith and Paige Smith, all of Odessa; sixteen grandchildren and one great grandson; and best friends: Beverly Maxwell and Chris King.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Walter Turner and Tegwen Price; her husband: Tommy Smith; and her son: Jason “Buckshot” Metz.
Visitation with the family will be 5:00 to 7:00 pm Sunday, November 14, 2010 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Monday, November 15, 2010 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, officiated by Rev. Jimmy Braswell.

Vonnie Lee Coursey passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 11, 2010 at Sherwood Place of Odessa at the age of 101. She was born on August 27, 1909 in Edgewood, TX to Perry and Docia (Rainey) Smith. She was the postmaster in Pyote, Texas for thirty years, retiring in 1988. She was Methodist.
She is survived by her children, sons: Perry Coursey of Lubbock, Harold Coursey of Odessa, and Max Coursey of Houston and daughters: Lois Holt of Odessa and Mary Downing of Clifton; fifteen grandchildren, 37 great grandchildren, 21 great-great grandchildren and one great-great great-grandchild. What a legacy!
Her parents, Perry and Docia Smith; husband: Olen Coursey; daughter: Leta V. Russell; granddaughters: Donna Kirk and LaNeta Windham; and great grandson: Jason Windham, precede her in death.
Family visitation at Acres West Funeral Chapel will be from 4 to 6:00 pm Sunday, November 14, 2010. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Monday, November 15, 2010 at the Pyote Community Church in Pyote, TX, officiated by Bro. Bill Campbell, assisted by Pastor Ryan Dennis. Bryan Lee White, age 51, passed away on Tuesday, November 9, 2010 in Batman, Turkey. He was born in Sacramento, CA on July 7, 1959 to John Richard White and Bobbie Nell (Easley) White. He was employed as a tool pusher for Viking Drilling International.
Family came first for Bryan. He always said, “You can’t have too much love in your life.” He loved life and lived it to the fullest.
Those left to cherish his love and memory are his wife of thirty-two years: Paula (Lightner) White of Ft. Stockton; parents: John and Bobbie Nell White of Leakey, TX; son: Pacer White and wife Jessica of San Angelo; daughter: Jamie Horton and husband Joshua of Midland; son: Cody White and wife Brandy of Alvarado, TX; brother: Barry White and wife Jeannie of Cleveland, TX; and three beloved grandchildren: Jarrod Wade White, Jaelyn Emerie White, and Claire Elizabeth White.
His brother, Brent White, preceded him in death in 1984.

Teresa de Jesus Adame, age 41, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2010 at Central Kansas Medical Center in Kansas. She was born in Chihuahua, MX on December 9, 1968 to Francisco Adame and Librada (Tavarez) Adame. She was Catholic and a member of the Prince of Peace Parish in Great Bend.
Those left to cherish her love and memory are her parents: Francisco and Librada Adame of Mexico; daughter: Jasmine Adame of Great Bend, KS; brothers: Chris Adame of Great Bend, KS, Carlos Adame and Oscar Adame, both of Mexico; and sister: Sandra Adame and husband Gustavo Madrid of Great Bend, KS.
Her brother, Gerardo Adame, preceded her in death.

Juan Berajano Baeza, age 77, of Balmorhea, Texas, died Saturday, November 20, 2010, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas. He was born in El Mulato, Chihuahua, Mexico on August 2, 1933 to the Bernarda (Bejarano) Baeza and Bernardo Baeza. He was a roustabout in the oilfield.
He is survived by his wife: Fermana Baeza of Balmorhea; daughter: Irma Baeza of Odessa; three sons: Abel Baeza of Balmorhea, Sammy Baeza of Odessa, and Johnny Baeza of Round Rock; one sister: Eduvijes Galindo of Ojinaga, MX; two brothers: Pablo Baeza of Hobbs, NM and Pedro Baeza of Odessa; ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Rosary will be said at 7:00 pm Monday, November 22, 2010 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Balmorhea. Funeral mass will be at Christ the King Catholic Church in Balmorhea at 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 23, 2010. Interment will follow at Balmorhea Cemetery. Curtis Lee Wilson, Sr.
Curtis Lee Wilson, Sr. was born
May 23, 1945 in Big Spring, Texas to Lela and Harvey Clark Wilson.
After the death of Harvey Clark Sr., Lela and her children moved
to Seagraves, Texas. There
she met Ocie Thompson and the two raised Curtis and his siblings.
Curtis met Mamie Louise Evans and they were married May 23,
1965. To this union, six
children were born: Tina,
Cheryl, Tami, Curtis Jr., Jeanna, and Cassandra.
Curtis worked for years at McAdoo Chevrolet and Alex Langehennig
Construction. He became
very close friends to the McAdoo and Langehennig families and remained
that way until his death.
Years later, Curtis moved to Odessa, TX.
In 2000, he met Bonnie Wiles.
They were married on March 13, 2009.
Curtis was employed by Ector County for ten years.
He loved to play golf and watching his grandkids play sports.
Most of all he loved his entire family.
He would go above and beyond for every single one of them.
He passed away on Monday, November, 22, 2010.
His sense of humor and great smile will truly be missed.

Barbara Donovan passed away Tuesday, November 23, 2010. She went to be with the Lord after a full life on this earth and a painful battle with Parkinson’s disease. She was born on Sunday, February 5, 1933 in Deming, NM. She was a child, a sister, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, a great-grandmother, and a friend.
She was a friend of Bill W. and Doctor Bob for the last 45 years of her life. During these years, she devoted a lot of her time to her friends, her family, and her spiritual world. But, the real love of her life was her art. She was a natural artist, still life, portraits, and abstracts.
So, she pursued the love of her life with a Bachelor’s degree in art, from UTPB, and a Master’s degree in art from Sul Ross State University, at Alpine. She loved setting up an easel at Lake Whitney, where she spent a couple of years of her life being a part of the Chapel of Light. She owned her own art gallery in Eastland for seven years. She lived and experienced life in a lot of different places, with a lot of different addresses, but, her last address was Hospice House in Odessa, TX.
Those left to cherish her memory include her companion: Rick Dodge of Odessa; sons: Mark Williams of Arlington, TX and Leslie Glinn Williams of Midland, TX; daughter: Debra Starr Jamison of Andrews; sister: Shelly Mathews of Odessa; brothers: Burt Deason of California and Tommy Deason of Texas; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Monday, November 29, 2010 at Acres West Funeral Chapel in Odessa, officiated by Lorrie Roehl and assisted by Carl Raymond. Andrea (Nieto) Calanche, age 74, of Odessa, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, November 24, 2010, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, Texas. She was born in La Paz, Mexico. She was Catholic.
She is survived by her husband Julian Calanche of Odessa; four daughters: Socorro Valencia of Odessa, Romana Hernandez of Odessa, Gloria Quinonez of Gonzales, LA, and Leticia Medrano of Odessa, three sons: Ciro Calanche, Mario Calanche, and Martin Calanche, all of Odessa; sister: Catalina Navarette of Mexico; three brothers: Lalo Nieto, Pablo Nieto, and Angel Nieto, all of Mexico; twenty-five grandchildren and forty-two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at St Joseph's Catholic Church at 10:00 AM Monday, November 29, 2010, Father Joe Uecker officiating. Interment will be at Rose Hill Garden of Ector County Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Acres West Funeral Chapel, 8115 W. University Blvd, Odessa, Texas.
