Maria Teresa (Ramirez) Cornish

Maria Teresa (Ramirez) Cornish, age 72, of Odessa, Texas, passed away on Monday, December 13, 2010, at Regency Hospital Of Odessa.  She was born in Uruapan, Mexico on February 8, 1938 to the late Alfonso Ramirez and the late Evangelina (Osio) Ramirez.  She was a retired cook.  She was Catholic. 

Ms. Cornish is survived by her son:  Jose Larrocha, Jr. of Odessa; two sisters:  Rosa Campos Ramirez of Alice, TX and Angela Ramirez of Queretano, Mexico; one brother:  Juan Ramirez Osio of Queretaro, Mexico, and one grandchild.   

Graveside memorial services will be at a later date in Mexico.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel. 

Manuel Bursiaga Lujan

Manuel Bursiaga Lujan, age 94, of Odessa, Texas, passed from this life on Tuesday, December 14, 2010, at Sienna Care Center.  He was born in Amarillo, TX on September 8, 1916.  He was the son of the late Manuel Lujan and Felicita (Bursiaga) Lujan. He was a farmer. 

He is survived by his wife Cecilia (Sotelo) Lujan of Odessa; daughter:  Ciria Lujan of Odessa; son:  Cruz Lujan of Odessa; brother:  Santos Lujan of Odessa; fourteen grandchildren; thirty -seven great-grandchildren; and twenty-five great-great grandchildren.   

Funeral services will be at a later date in Ojinaga, Mexico.  Interment will be at Panteon de Canada Ancha in Ojinaga.   Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel and Funeraria De Valle in Ojinaga. 

Margaret Wells

Margaret Wells, age 84, of Odessa, passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Seabury Nursing Home.  She was born in Leeds, England on February 3, 1926 to Edward and Louisa (Walker) Cawood.  She was a homemaker.

Survivors include seven sons:  Kevin Shaw of Corpus Christi,  Andrew Shaw of San Antonio, Paul Shaw of Odessa, David Shaw of Odessa, Johnny Wells of Horheim, Michael Well of San Antonio, and Wayne Wells of San Antonio; one daughter:  Ann Childress of Phoenix, AZ; one sister:  Joan Whiting of Leeds, England; several grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.

Her parents, and her husband, John Wells, precede her in death.

Memorial services will be in England at a later date.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel of Odessa.  

Raul Hernandez

Raul Hernandez, age 56, died Wednesday, December 15, 2010 at Buena Vista Nursing Home in Odessa. He was born in Pecos, TX on November 5, 1954 to Ed and Micaela (Flores) Hernandez. He was a rancher.

Survivors include his brothers: Joe Hernandez, Art Hernandez, and Leroy Hernandez, all of Odessa, Ed Hernandez of Fort Stockton and Carmen Hernandez of Balmorhea; and two sisters: Minga Lopez of Odessa and Sheila Rodriguez of Lubbock.

Rosary will be said at 6:00 pm on Thursday, December 16, 2010 at Christ the King Mission in Balmorhea. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am on Friday, December 17, 2010 at Christ the King Mission in Balmorhea.   Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel. 

Carroll Franklin Carpenter, Sr.

Carroll Franklin Carpenter, Sr., age 82, passed away at Medical Center Hospital on Wednesday, December 15, 2010.   He was born in Litton, New Hampshire on July 26, 1928 to Alba and Alice (Bartlett) Carpenter.  He was a machinist and a US Army Veteran.

He is survived by his son: Carroll Franklin Carpenter, Jr. and wife Kathy of Odessa; daughter:  Karla Allen and husband Michael of Odessa; brother:  Morris Carpenter of Litton, NH; twelve grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

His parents and his wife:  Juanita Carpenter and son:  William J. Carpenter, precede him in death.

Graveside services will be 4:00 pm Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Sunset Memorial Gardens, officiated by Rev. Jimmy Braswell.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel. 

Juan De Dios Hernandez Ramirez

Juan De Dios Hernandez Ramirez, age 52, passed away on Wednesday, December 15, 2010, at General Regional Hospital in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico.  He was born in La Esmeralda, Ojinaga Chihuahua, Mexico on March 8, 1958 to Manuel Hernandez and the late Maria (Ramirez) Hernandez.   He was a mechanic.

He is survived by his father:  Manuel Hernandez of Odessa; seven sisters:  Maria Aranda of Odessa, Sabina Dominguez of Chihuahua, Mexico, Angie Hernandez of Odessa, Cecilia Alvarado of Weatherford, Manuela Levario of Odessa, Elsa Mendoza of Dexter, NM, and Bertha Chavez of Odessa; and two brothers:  Frank Hernandez of Odessa and Jesse Hernandez of Houston.       

Funeral mass will be at St Joseph's Catholic Church at 2:00 PM Monday, December 20, 2010, Fr. Mark Miller officiating.  Interment will be at Los Angeles Garden of Ector County Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel. 

Franklin H. Miller

Franklin H. Miller, age 94, of Roswell, NM, died Thursday, December 16, 2010, at Regency Hospital Of Odessa in Odessa, Texas.  He was born in Peru, NE on October 11, 1916 to Oscar D. Miller and Lucille Sears Miller. He was a mechanic for Clardie's Dairy. 

He is survived by his daughter:  Kathryn Bush of Roswell, NM and son:  Kenneth R. Miller of Las Cruces, NM; sister:  May Thornhill of Odessa; brother:  Leroy Miller of Vancouver, WA;  sister-in-law:  Lois Johnson of Artesia, NM; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.      

Graveside memorial services will be at Clovis Cemetery in Clovis, NM at a later date.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Bonnie Lea Awbrey Sullivan

Bonnie Lea Awbrey Sullivan, age 63, passed from this life on Saturday, December 18, 2010 in Odessa, TX.  She was born in Glen Rose, TX on Friday, February 21, 1947 to Stephen James and Bissie Lea (Shipman) Riggs. Bonnie was a longtime member of the Church of Christ. She enjoyed traveling and going to Senior Citizens. Most of all, Bonnie loved being a grandmother and spending time with her grandkids.

 

Those left to cherish her memory are her mother: Bessie Riggs of Odessa; three sons: Levis Awbrey of Kermit, Jimmy Awbrey and wife Yvonne of Wichita Falls, and Brian Awbrey and wife Claudia of Kermit; four sisters: Betty Baker of Norman, OK, Lois Riggs of Mt. Pleasant, Joyce McDougle and husband Richard of Odessa, and Carol Riggs of Odessa; two brothers: Donnie Riggs of Kerrville and Robert Riggs of Odessa;  nine grandchildren: Ashley Awbrey, Taylor Awbrey, Austin Awbrey, Devin Awbrey, Brayden Awbrey, Jayden Awbrey, Andrew Awbrey, Maria Awbrey and Matthew Awbrey.

 

She is preceded in death by her husband: Dale “Speedy” Sullivan; father: Stephen Riggs; brother: Billy Riggs; sister: Lorene Zorn; and nephew: Daniel Cobos.

 

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Acres West Funeral Chapel in Odessa, officiated by Brother Gene Collins. Interment will follow at West Texas Memorial Park, 4100 N. FM 1788, Midland, TX.  Arrangements are entrusted to Family Services Funeral Parlor.

Francisca Montoya De Ochoa

Francisca Montoya De Ochoa, age 87, of Odessa, passed away on Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Medical Center Hospital. She was born in El Amagre, Chihuahua, Mexico to Guillermo and Tibursia (Carbajal) Montoya.  She was a homemaker.

She is survived by three sons: Eucebro Montoya Ochoa of Sublette, KS, Manuel Montoya Ochoa of Ulysses, KS, and Ramon Montoya Ochoa of Odessa; three daughters: Antonia Armendariz of Kermit, Marcelina Valenzuela of Odessa, and Tibursia Lopez of Midland; 26 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. 

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Tuesday, December 21 at Acres West 24 Hour Funeral Chapel in Odessa, officiated by Father Joe Uecker.  Interment will follow at Los Angeles Gardens in Ector County Cemetery.  qArrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel. 

Tracy Joyce Woods

Tracy Joyce Woods, age 36, died Saturday, December 18, 2010 at her Odessa residence.  She was born in Toledo, OH on October 9, 1974 to Steven and Marylee (Mack) Dudley. She married James Woods on January 20, 2007 in Las Vegas. 

She is survived by her husband:   James Woods of Odessa; mother:  Marylee Dudley of Allentown, PA; father:  Steven Dudley of Odessa; grandmother:  Joyce Hurley of Carrolltown, TX; brother:  Robert Dudley of Odessa; and sister:  Leslie Cole of Pontiac, MI. 

Graveside services will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 20, 2010 at Los Angeles Garden of Ector County Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel. 

Johnnie Merl Williams

Johnnie Merl Williams, age 83, died Saturday, December 18, 2010 at her Odessa residence.  She was born in Corsicana, TX on October 4, 1927 to Chester Joseph Sikes and Ethel Hallie (Stovall) Sikes Rector.  She was a bookkeeper.

She is survived by her daughter:  Susan Kennedy of Odessa and her brother:  Dan Sikes and wife Mary of Anson, TX.

Her parents:  Chester Sikes and Ethel Rector and her grandson:  Kelly Shawn Kennedy, precede her in death.

Memorial services will be 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church, officiated by Fr. Mark Woodruff.  Interment will follow at Ector County Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel. 

David Larry Henson

David Larry Henson, age 60, of Odessa passed away on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 at Hospice House. He was born on August 5, 1950 in Snyder, TX to the late William Larry and Velva Marie (Mealer) Henson.  He was a reserve deputy for the Ector County Sheriff Department and a Coors distributor.  He attended the Cowboy Church.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife: Becky Henson of Odessa; two daughters: Jeana Henson of Odessa and Amanda Henson Morgan and husband Craig of Round Rock, TX; five sisters: Barbara Tyler and Evelyn Lamb, both of Odessa, Jaynie Short of Dayton, TX, Darlene Morgan and Sharon Tewksbury, both of Houston, TX; four grandchildren and one great-grandson.  

He was preceded in death by his parents: one brother: Jack Henson; and one sister: Shirley Minchew. 

Services are scheduled for 10:00 am Thursday, December 23, 2010 at Faith Community Baptist Church, officiated by Brother . Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Doyle Wayne Rodgers Jr. "Nevada"
Doyle Wayne Rodgers Jr. "Nevada" went to his eternal rest on Tuesday, December 21, 2010 due to injuries he sustained in a motorcycle accident. He was born in Eureka, California on July 27, 1954 to Doyle Wayne Rodgers, Sr. and Udel Faye (Hampton) Rodgers. Nevada was a family man. He loved his daddy and was a loving husband, son, father and brother.

 He was a national officer and member of The Last few Motorcycle Club for 28 years. He was a skilled motorcycle rider and had been riding for over 40 years. Nevada was a full time student at UTPB and was going to graduate in May with a degree in Social Work.  He made the Dean's list and Honor roll and had worked so hard on his studies. Nevada was president of the United Social Workers Club at UTPB. He was so excited about graduating and was looking forward to helping troubled veterans return to a productive civilian life. Nevada served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. Nevada gave it his all and approached life the same way.

Nevada will be greatly missed by his family and all the friends he made during his journey through life. He brought laughter and smiles to those who knew him. God needed another soldier to add to his army and he chose one of the best.

Nevada is survived by his wife: Kaylene Rodgers of Odessa; his father: Doyle Wayne Rodgers, Sr. and wife Louise of Salem, AR.; two sons: Richard Rodgers of Jasper, AL and Billy Rodgers of Lovington, NM.; four daughters: Jenny Rodgers of Odessa, and Mandy and Christina Rodgers and Melanie Rodgers Anderson, all of California; two brothers: Mark Rodgers and Matthew Rodgers, both of California; one sister: Margie Rodgers of California; numerous grandchildren; and many brothers and sisters of The Last Few MC.

His mother: Udel Rodgers and brother: Richard Rodgers, precede him in death.

A celebration of Nevada's life with military honors will be at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 1, 2011 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Danny "Ductape" Morriss.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

To participate in the memorial ride to the Chapel, please be at the Last Few Clubhouse at 1:00 pm.

 
Ana Alicia Rodriguez

Ana Alicia Rodriguez, age 47, passed away on Wednesday, December 22, 2010 at Hospice House in Odessa.  She was born in Ojinaga. Chihuahua, Mexico.  She was Catholic.

She is survived by her husband of thirty years:  Jose Rodriguez of Odessa; parents: Bernardo and Maria Anchondo of Pecos; son: Ricky Rodriguez of Odessa; brothers: Bernardo Anchondo of Pasadena and Guillermo Anchondo of Odessa; and sisters: Marisol Arredondo of Baytown, TX and Carmina Anchondo of Pecos.

One brother, Jesus Anchondo, preceded her in death.

Rosary will be held 7:00 pm Monday, December 27, 2010 at Acres West 24 Hour Chapel.   Mass of Christian burial will be 10:00 am Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, officiated by Fr. Bernardito Getigan.  Interment will follow at Los Angeles Garden of Ector County Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel. 

Harold Loyd Clough

Harold Loyd Clough, age 81, of Odessa, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2010, at his daughter’s home.  He was born in Pampa, TX on February 14, 1929 to Julian A. Clough and Corine (Petty) Clough.  He worked for many years for El Paso Natural Gas.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter:  Regina Chance of Odessa; son:  Eric Clough of Dallas; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. 

His parents:  Julian and Corine Clough; his beloved wife:  Deeon (Hill) Clough; and one daughter:  Carol Ann Lance, precede him in death.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4:00 pm Sunday, December 26, 2010 at Acres West Funeral Chapel in Odessa.  Graveside services will be 1:00 pm Monday, December 27, 2010 at Merriman Cemetery in Ranger, Texas, officiated by Rev. Paul Hamby.   Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.
