Helen Louise Hayter

Helen Louise Hayter, age 55, of Odessa, passed from this life at Hospice House on Sunday, January 1, 2012.  She was born in El Paso, TX on June 14, 1956 to William and Cecil (Womac) Larremore.  She married Leslie Hayter in Odessa on July 28, 1985.  They are members of Cumberland Presbyterian Church.

Helen was a graduate OHS and had been very active in OHS Band.  She was very musically inclined and taught piano.  She was very involved with her children’s lives and everything they were in, Helen was in.  She went back to school after the girls were up in age in their elementary years and majored in music.  Helen was an excellent homemaker; beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. 

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 26 years:  Leslie Hayter of Odessa; mother:  Cecil Larremore of Odessa; two daughters:  Sarah Hayter and Rebekah Hayter, both of Odessa; son:  Jeffrey Kyle Hayter of San Diego, CA; brother:  Terry Larremore of Odessa; sister:  Lynnie Larremore of Odessa; and one granddaughter:  Scarlett Elizabeth Knight.

Her father, William Larremore, precedes her in death.

Memorial services will be 2:00 pm, Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 1415 N. Grandview, Odessa, officiated by Rev. Jimmy Braswell.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Hospice House in Helen’s name would be appreciated.  Hospice House, 903 N. Sam Houston, Odessa, TX 79761. 

Sue Runnels

Sue Runnels, age 89, of Odessa, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at Medical Center Hospital.  She was a retired cook and restaurant owner.

She is survived by her friend: Teresa Hunt of Odessa, and god daughters: Deidra Mitchell of Midland and Brandy Davis of Dallas. 

No services will be held at this time.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel and Crematory. 

David Wayne Weathersby

David Wayne Weathersby, age 51, passed from this life on Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at his Odessa residence.  He was born in Seguin, TX on March 30, 1960 to the late Charles Frank and Carrie S. Weathersby. 

He enjoyed visiting the duck pond near his home.

No services will be held at this time.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Elgin Knox Talley

Elgin Knox Talley, age 64, of Odessa, died Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at Medical Center Hospital.  He was born in Santa Anna, TX on August 12, 1947 to Cecil Eugene Talley and Margaret Ailene (Edmonson) Talley.  He did drywall installation in construction. 

He is survived by his wife: Teresa (Culpepper) Talley of Odessa; mother:  Margaret Talley of Pflugerville; two sons:  Bryan Talley and wife Stacy of Las Vegas, Nev. and Steven Walker Talley and wife Karen of Austin; one sister:  Louise Talley of Round Rock; two brothers:  Johnny Talley and wife Jackie and Rickey Talley, all of Pflugerville; and one grandchild.      

Memorial services will be 1:00 PM Saturday, January 14, 2012 at Kingdom Hall, 1750 E. 87th Street, Odessa.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel and Crematory. 

Faustino Rodriguez, Jr.

Faustino Rodriguez, Jr., age 36, of Odessa, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2012, at his home.  He was born in Odessa on January 2, 1976.  He attended OHS and worked in the oilfield as a lease operator. 

Faustino loved horses and horse racing and owned his own racehorse named “Finding Chicks”.  He also liked roosters.  He was a hard worker, and very friendly and outgoing person.  He was a loving son, brother, husband and father, who will be dearly missed. 

Those left to cherish his love and memory are his wife Maria Diaz; father:  Faustino Rodriguez; mother:  Socorro (Serrano) Rodriguez; two daughters:  Frances Marie Rodriguez and Michelle Alyssa Rodriguez; son:  Jacob Faustino Rodriguez; grandmother:  Consuelo Ramirez; four brothers:  Luis Levario, Fernando Rodriguez and wife Nilba, Jairo Rodriguez and wife Araceli and Jesus Jose Rodriguez and wife Yesenia, all of Odessa; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.    

His paternal grandparents:  Fernando and Magdalena Rodriguez, maternal grandfather:  Florencio Ramirez, and brother:  Jose Oswbaldo Rodriguez, precede him in death.     

Rosary will be said 7 to 8:30 pm Sunday, January 8, 2012 at Acres West 24 Hour Chapel.  Funeral mass will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church at 10:00 AM Monday, January 9, 2012, Father Joe Uecker officiating.  Interment will follow at Los Angeles Garden of Ector County Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel. 

Jason Lesley Franklin

Jason Lesley Franklin, age 33, was called away suddenly on Wednesday, January 4, 2012, from his home in Odessa to his Heavenly home.  He was born in Odessa on August 8, 1978.  He worked in the oilfield in hot shot services and welding.  He was a hard worker who enjoyed his job and was proud of earning his CDL.  He also did tattoos and was a talented tattoo artist. 

Jason loved life and lived it to the fullest, always telling others they should do the same.  He was outgoing and happy and always in a good mood, making everyone laugh.  He was an all around good guy who liked to barbeque, go fishing with his father in law, Gary, (who he called his “Fishing Buddy”), and spend time with his family.  Jason was a “car guy”.  He liked drag racing, race cars, and had a passion for motorcycles.  He has just got a GSXR 1000 and was so excited about getting it ready and running. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Misty (Sims) Franklin of Odessa; two daughters:  Bailey Franklin of Whitehouse, TX and Kassidy Thompson of Odessa; three sons:  Blane Franklin of Whitehouse, TX, and Dylan Thompson and Hunter Mallory, both of Odessa; father:  Jimmy Franklin and wife Penny of Gardendale; mother:  Debbie Jones of Gardendale; maternal grandmother:  Jean Anderson of Gardendale; one sister:  Tonya Quezeda and husband Fausto of Midland; two nephews:  Rico and Joshua Quezeda; and many in laws and friends. 

His maternal grandfather:  R.D. Anderson and step father:  Joe Jones, preceded him in death. 

Funeral services will be at Acres West Funeral Chapel at 2:00 PM Saturday, January 7, 2012, Pastor Brian Serrano officiating.  Interment will follow at Andrews West Cemetery in Andrews, Texas. Pallbearers will be Gary Sims, Sr., Gary Sims, Jr., J.R. Skipworth, Fausto Quezeda, and Chris Cronk.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel, 8115 W. University Blvd, in Odessa.

Betty Lou (Archer) Gunn

Betty Lou (Archer) Gunn, age 75, of Odessa, passed from this life on Wednesday, January  4, 2012, at Hospice House in Odessa after a lengthy illness.  She was born in Big Spring on November 7, 1936 to the late Audrey and Katherine (Jones) Archer.  She married Paul Gunn in Odessa on February 22, 1965.  Betty was a homemaker; beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. 

Betty was very active in her church and in her community.  She was always ready and willing to do anything she could to help others.  She was a very loving and lovable person.  She loved crafting and won awards for her cake decorating.  She was devoted to her family and enjoyed having coffee with friends. 

Those left to cherish her love and memory are her husband:  Paul Gunn of Odessa; three sons:  Wayne Anderson and Mike Anderson of Odessa, and Bobby Anderson of Pryor, OK; two sisters:  Linda Kay Arnold of Stephenville and Kathie Sue Curd of Odessa; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and her beloved pet: Scooter.      

In addition to her parents, her sisters:  Darlene Whisenhunt, Carol Stamps, and Donna Fay; and three brothers:  Jerry Vaughn Archer, Rudy Earl Archer, and Donald Leon Archer, precede her in death. 

The family wishes to thank Home Hospice and the Hospice House staff for all their love and care. 

Funeral services will be 11:00 am, Saturday January 7, 2012 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jimmy Braswell.  Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel. 

 

Deborah Rae (Cobleigh) Sandretti

Deborah Rae (Cobleigh) Sandretti, age 59, of Odessa, passed away on Wednesday, January 4, 2012 in Odessa.  She was born in Michigan on August 11, 1952.  She was an assistant manager for Citibank (First American Bank).   

She is survived by two daughters:  Tara Hammerman of Roseville, CA and Mary McGee of Odessa; one brother:  Mark Cobleigh of Omaha, NE; and one grandson:  Sean of Odessa. 

No services will be held at this time.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel. 

Lou E. Moore

Lou Ester Moore, age 77, of Odessa, passed away on Thursday, January 5, 2012, at Regency Hospital of Odessa.  She was born in Groesbeck, TX on March 12, 1934 to Fred Moore and Phoebe Jackson, who precede her in death.  She was a licensed vocational nurse and devoted her life to helping others.

Lou is survived by her son:  Roger Blane Campbell; grandson:  Roger Blane Campbell, Jr.; granddaughters:  Esther Rosemary Campbell and Collette LeShay Campbell; and three great-grandchildren:  Isaiah Jamar Campbell, Lucas Jeremiah Campbell, and Elijah Lee Faulkner, all of Odessa.  She is also fondly remembered by her Buena Vida family and friends.

A memorial service will be at Acres West Funeral Chapel at 3:00 PM Thursday, January 12, 2012, Brother Gene O. Collins officiating.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel, 8115 W. University Blvd, Odessa, Texas.

Donald James Hurley

Donald James Hurley, age 54, of Odessa, died Sunday, January 8, 2012, at Hospice House of Odessa.  He was born in Robson, WV on February 1, 1957 to the late Charles Colombus Hurley and Delda Agnes (Weeks) Hurley. He was a cook. 

He is survived by two sisters:  Brenda Huffty of Odessa and Delores King of Hot Springs, Ark.; five brothers:  Chuck Hurley of Hood River, Ore., Bill Hurley of Odessa, Merl Hurley of Phoenix, Ariz., Jerry Hurley of Seattle, Wash., and Darcy Hurley of Phoenix, Ariz. and one granddaughter: Taylor Marie Davis of Odessa.      

No services will be held at this time.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel, 8115 W. University Blvd, Odessa, Texas

William Hugh Luttrell, III

William Hugh Luttrell, III, age 61, of Odessa, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2012 in Odessa.  He was born in Ft. Worth, Texas on June 29, 1950 to the late William Hugh Luttrell, Jr. and Dorothy Lee (Cross) Luttrell.  He was a longtime Ft. Worth resident who had only been in Odessa for the past two years.  He was a maintenance worker at the Atrium.

He was a big hearted, happy person who always wore a big smile.  He had a good disposition, a giving heart, and a love for animals.  He loved his dog, Chewy.

He is survived by his sisters:  Paula Murrell of Odessa and Lisa Luttrell of Ft. Worth; and two brothers:  Mike Luttrell and Dwight Luttrell, both of Ft. Worth.

In addition to his parents, his brother:  Greg Luttrell, precedes him in death.

Pilar Carrasco

Pilar Carrasco, age 79, of Presidio, TX, died Monday, January 9, 2012 at Medical Center Hospital of Odessa.  He was born in San Carlos, Manuel Benavides, Chihuahua, Mexico on November 20, 1932 to the late Jesus Carrasco and Catalina (Garcia) Carrasco.  He was a rancher.

Those left to cherish his memory are his children:  Carlos Carrasco and wife Serena of Amarillo, Irma Carrasco of Chandler, AZ, Celia Parkman and husband Robert of Beeville, TX, Claudio Carrasco and wife Kathy of Evans, GA, Arturo Carrasco and wife Gloria of Fontana, CA, and Ricardo Carrasco and Iris Alejandra Carrasco, both of El Mirage, AZ; grandchildren:  Rocky and Samantha Roman, Bo and Chase Carrasco, Jodi, Joshua, Cori and Justin Parkman, Diana Wolfe, and Dominick, Monique, and Arik Carrasco; and five great-grandchildren:  Azy, Rhea, Tye, Shannon, and Kylie.

In addition to his parents, his beloved wife, Elvira Dominguez Carrasco, daughter:  Catalina Carrasco, and siblings:  Valentin Carrasco and Maria de la Luz Vasquez, precede him in death.

Rosary will be said Thursday evening, January 12, 2012 at Acres West Funeral Chapel and 7:00 pm.  Funeral services will be 10:00 am Friday, January 13, 2012 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Fr. Joe Uecker.  Honorary pallbearers will be Carlos Carrasco, Claudio Carrasco, Arturo Carrasco, Ramon Carrasco, Robert Parkman, Rocky Roman, and Bo Carrasco.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel. 

Andy Vasquez

Andrew Fierros Vasquez, “Andy”, departed this life on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Hospice House of Odessa at the age of 50.  He was born Wednesday, August 9, 1961 in Madera, CA to Jose and Juanita (Fierros) Vasquez.  He graduated from OHS and went on to a career as a painter and machinist for a body shop.  Andy was a work-a-holic who loved his job.  He married Ester Vargas in Odessa on November 1, 2004.

Andy was a good son, brother and wonderful husband.  He was a devoted and loving father who always took wonderful care of his kids.  He was an easygoing person, who liked to joke around and had a great sense of humor.  He loved life and enjoyed eating.  His favorite was Ester’s cooking, but he also liked a good cheeseburger and a Diet Coke. 

He surrendered his life to Jesus and was baptized on July 3, 2011 and he has now gone to spend eternity with Him along with his father, sister (Mary Torres), and beloved baby boy, Cesar.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife:  Ester Vasquez of Odessa; mother:  Juanita Vasquez of Odessa; sons:  Andrew Vasquez, Jr., Ezequiel Cardoza, and Bryan Vasquez, all of Odessa; daughters:  Elizabeth Vasquez and Diane Vasquez of Odessa; brothers:  Charlie Vasquez and Valentine Vasquez, both of Odessa and Joe Vasquez III of Kansas; five sisters:  Maria Vasquez of Odessa, Irene Guzman and Juanita Vasquez, both of Fort Worth, and Felisha Vasquez and Lupe Martinez, both of Odessa; and grandchildren:  Amarie, Harvey, and Alyssa Benavides, Ishreal, Angel, and Moses Villa, and Kadyn Lee Vasquez.

A prayer service will be held Monday, January 16, 2012 at Asamblea Apostolica de la Fe en Cristo Jesus at 2309 S. Fort Worth in Midland at 7:00 pm.  Funeral services will also take place at the church on Tuesday morning, January 17, 2012 at 10:00 am, officiated by Minister Anatalio Bracamontes.  Interment will follow at Los Angeles Garden of Ector County Cemetery in Odessa.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel. 

Fulgencio Flores Huertas

Fulgencio Flores Huertas, age 92, passed from this life on Thursday, January 12, 2012 at his Odessa residence.  He was born in Mexico on Friday, January 9, 1920 to the late Santiago Huertas and Isidra (Flores) Huertas.  He was a rancher.

Those left to cherish his love and memory are his wife:  Maria (Grado) Huertas of Odessa; son:  Adan G. Huertas and wife Juanita of Odessa; five brothers:  Matias Huertas, Raul Huertas, and Paulino Huertas, all of Odessa and Gilberto Huertas and Nato Huertas, both of Ojinaga, Mexico; one sister:  Sara Herrera of Odessa; three grandchildren:  Maria Simona Licon, Marisela Huertas, and Adan Huertas, Jr.; eight great-grandchildren:  Kyara, Carlos, Itzen, Xasha, Xsavian, Aden, Adan III, Adamariz; and two great-great grandchildren:  Arisela and Eisha. 

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at Acres West 24 Hour Chapel.  Interment will follow at the Rose Hill section of Ector County Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Carlos Licon, Jr., Ivan Sanchez, Adan Huertas, Carlos Licon, Jr., Itzen Licon, and Adan Huertas, III.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel. 

Sandra Jo Graves

Sandra Jo (Dismuke) Graves, age 68, of Goldsmith, passed from this life on Thursday, January 12, 2012, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.  She was born in Pampa, TX on October 29, 1943 to Albert Franklin “Al” Dismuke and Margret Fay Jones.  She was a devoted wife and homemaker. 

She is survived by her husband:  George Graves of Goldsmith, her brother:  Richard Dismuke of Pampa, one step-brother and one step-sister.

Gravesides services will be at Los Angeles Garden of Ector County Cemetery at 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 17, 2012, officiated by Brother Wayne Shelton of Faith Community Baptist Church.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel, 8115 W. University Blvd, Odessa, Texas.
