Anita Ingebord Reyna Multhaupt, age 66, of Odessa, passed from this life on Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Medical Center Hospital. She was born in Frankfurt, Germany on February 19, 1946. Throughout her life she was self employed working in many areas from home healthcare to managing an apartment complex. She was a Christian.
First and foremost in Anita’s life was her love for the Lord and her studies of His word. She read the Torah and the Bible and meditated on His will for her. Anita was a very loving, caring, and forgiving person. She was the backbone of her family and was always there to offer a shoulder to cry on or a sympathetic ear.

Verlis William Johnson, age 95, of Odessa, passed away on Saturday,
July 7, 2012, at his residence.
He was a former Kermit resident and longtime pastor of the 11th
Hour Apostolic Sabbatarian Church.
He had worked as a house mover and welder.
He devoted his life to working and sharing the word of the Lord.
He was born in Johnson County, Arkansas on February 6, 1917 to the late
Lee Albert Johnson and Vora Angela (Curtis) Johnson.
He married Laura Mae Fuller in Kermit on November 10, 1938.
Prior to being, drafted Verlis was building Liberty ships in San
Diego, CA. He then served
in the US Navy Seabees during WWII.
He is survived by his wife Laura Johnson of Odessa; one daughter:
Debrah Ham and husband J. L. of Bastrop, La.; two sons:
Gran Johnson and wife Betty, and Dan Johnson and wife Rebecca,
all of Odessa; sister: Nuell Deitz of Anchorage, Alaska; nine
Johnson, Dan Johnson, Todd Johnson, Vonda Coleman, Rodney Johnson,
Chance Johnson, Chad Johnson, Stephanie De Prisco, and Melinda Morrow;
19 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents; one son:
David Johnson; and his brothers, precede him in death.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am at Acres West Funeral Chapel in
Odessa on Tuesday, July 10, 2012, Pastor Don Swindle and Rev. Jimmy
Interment with military honors will be at Kermit Cemetery in Kermit,

Annette (Hobbs) Parker, age 77, of Odessa, Texas, passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2012, at Medical Center Hospital. She was born in Tyler, TX on March 6, 1935 to the late Clyde Hobbs and Vera Mae (Mullins) Miller. She was a homemaker.
Ann was the “Boss”.

Ezequiel Estrada Reyes, age 64, of Odessa, passed from this life on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 in Odessa. He was born in Fabens, TX on April 11, 1948 to the late Andres and Ignacia (Estrada) Reyes. He married Imelda Benavides in Odessa in 2002. He was a heavy equipment operator.

Juan Salazar Montoya, 91, of Ojinaga, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. He was born in Ojinaga, Mexico on February 8, 1921 to Jose and Dominga Salazar.
Juan was a very hard worker. He worked for the Sauceda Ranch in Big Bend for 26 years, where he enjoyed hunting and trapping mountain lions. He also enjoyed walking, collecting arrowheads, and finding trinkets for his grandchildren at garage sales. But of all things in life, he loved his family and friends the most. Juan will be missed by all.

Jennie Colleen Williams, age 36, passed away Sunday, July 8, 2012, at her Odessa residence. She was born in Miles City, MT on January 18, 1976. On Valentine’s Day of 2006, she married her loving husband, Billy Williams in Odessa. She was a homemaker and a member of 1st Baptist Church.
Jennie had an awesome personality.
She lit up the room with a beautiful smile.
There was never a person that she would not befriend due to
their status in life.
She always found the positive in everyone.
When it came to her kids, she was the loudest to cheer for
them and the last one to sit down.
The love she had for her kids was second to none.

suddenly Saturday, July 14, 2012 in Odessa after a car accident.
She was born in Lamesa, TX on Wednesday, September 20, 1967.
She worked as a home healthcare provider.
Carmen was an angel on earth.
She enjoyed preaching, taught Sunday School at Templo
Romanos 8:1, and prayed continually.
For the past 26 years, she had devoted herself to the Lord.
She would go to the hospital – just to help out.
She always welcomed others with open arms and a smile.

Ralph Moreman Mallory, 65, of Odessa, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2012, at ORMC in Odessa. He was born in Odessa, Texas on March 10, 1947 to Robert and Lillian Mallory. Ralph served in the U.S. Navy and was a retired Chemical Engineer in the Oilfield.
Ralph did leatherwork for a hobby. He made belts, purses, and jewelry boxes. He loved to fish. Even though Ralph led a hard life he was the most generous man you would ever meet. He would put his last dollar in his shirt pocket and then give you the shirt and all. But most of all Ralph loved his family and his family loved him. Ralph will be missed by all.

Bessie Lea Shipman Riggs, age 90, passed from this life on Sunday, July 15, 2012 in Odessa, Texas.
Bessie was born near Glass Texas in Somervell County on December 22, 1921 to Daniel and Willie (Ice) Shipman. Bessie had a deep and abiding faith in a loving God that sustained her through the good times as well as the difficult times. During her journey of over ninety years on this earth, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed cooking for a large family, holiday meals, making everyone’s favorite dish. We all have fond memories of her chocolate cake, banana pudding, turkey & dressing, German chocolate cake and home-made biscuits. No one ever went home hungry. Bessie loved being a mother and grandmother with her house filled with the noisy laughter of children playing. She always looked for the good in life and in people. She was a gentle and caring lady. Her family was her life, her joy and her happiness. After her last child was in school, she continued her care giving as a CNA at Deerings Nursing Home. In later years, when she was home bound, she enjoyed reading and listening to gospel music.

Suzanne D. Clower, age 57, of Odessa, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2012 after an accident at home in Odessa. She was born July 24, 1954, in Odessa, the 4th of five children born to Walter and Thelma Ruth Clower.
Suzanne was a special child. She went to Ross Elementary until she was 21. Her teacher was Mrs. Mason, a wonderful caring person. She worked for the county helping to make napkins for airline companies. She was so proud of her $2.10 two-week salary. A great help to her mother, Suzanne was called “The Recycle Queen”. She never threw anything away. Suzanne believed in God wholeheartedly. She never missed a Sunday at church unless she was sick. A member of Crescent Park Baptist Church for many years, she had a wonderful teacher there – “Miss Mint”.
Those left to cherish Suzanne’s memory are her siblings – three brothers: Jeff and Linda Clower of Jacksboro, Steve and Marlene Clower of Gardendale, and Rod Clower of Odessa; and one sister: June Overton of Odessa; and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Junior and Thelma Ruth Clower.

Coy Dee Hedgpeth passed away, July 19, 2012 at his home. He was born March 31, 1929 along with his twin brother, Roy Lee Hedgpeth, in Ireland, Texas, to Oliver Newton “Buster” and Annabelle Hedgpeth.
He joined the
Navy and served during the Korean War and was stationed in Hawaii.
He met his future bride, Lorraine Bona in San Diego, CA.
They were married on September 4, 1954 in Ft Worth.
They later moved back to California until their daughter,
Roxane Mary was born.
Then they moved to Odessa in 1956.
He worked for Vance Supply, transferred to Hobbs NM from
1958-1960, and then moved back to Odessa.
He transferred to Texarkana for 6 months in 1973.
He then moved back to Odessa and worked for Motion Equipment
until he retired in 1991.
He was a Christian, and visited Agape Dream Center.
bowling, playing the guitar with Roy, and sister, Martha. He
enjoyed playing golf, even more after he retired.
He enjoyed playing solitaire and playing on his keyboard.
He was preceded
in death by his parents, Oliver Newton “Buster” and Annabelle

Clifton Alden “Al” Mercer, Jr., age 75, passed away
on Saturday, July 21, 2012 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.
He was born on October 29, 1936 in Plant City, FL to the late Clifton
Alden Mercer, Sr. and Elizabeth Alice (Romedy) Mercer.
He graduated Hillsborough High
School in Tampa in 1954, going on to serve in the Army National Guard
during the Korean Conflict.
Shortly thereafter, he also served as a police officer in Tampa.
He was a member of American Veterans of Odessa and a Mason.
Al had been a longtime member of the Odessa
community, living and working here for 40 years.
He graduated from community college having earned his master’s
license as an air conditioning technician.
He worked for Action Air Conditioning and owned and operated

Felix Saul Vargas- Ruiz, age 21, of Odessa, passed away on July 23, 2012 after a severe traffic accident. He was born in Madera, Mexico on May 21, 1991 to Manuel Vargas Garcia and Maria Concepcion Ruiz-Marquez. He married Nikie Jaquez in Pecos on March 1, 2011.
Saul was a hard worker and always eager to help others. He had been employed with C. Hollis Construction out of Midland for the past 2 years. He was a positive person, full of life and energy. Saul was a loving husband, brother, and son.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife: Nikie Vargas of Odessa; parents: Manuel and Maria Vargas of Madera, MX; two brothers: Ivan and Omar Vargas, both of Madera, MX; and two sisters: Blanca Vargas of Madera and Rafaela Vargas of Odessa.
Rosary will be said at Acres West Funeral Chapel on Sunday evening, July 29, 2012 at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be at Acres West 24 Hour Chapel at 10:00 am Monday, July 30, 2012, officiated by Father Joe Uecker. Burial will follow at Cementerio de Ejido Tres Ojitos in Ejido Tres Ojitos, Mexico. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.
