David Paul Houghton, age 46, of Odessa, passed from this life and into eternal peace on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, TX.
David was born October 24, 1966 the first of five children born to Paul and Rita Houghton. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1985 and worked for Amphenal Steward Enterprises for more than 25 years. David married the late Billie Faye Stokes in June of 1988. In July of 1990, David and Billie were blessed with a son, Timothy Paul Houghton.
David was a kind and generous man. He was tenderhearted and completely dedicated to his family and friends. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. David was a hard worker. He worked for the same company from the time he was in high school until his death, working his way up from entry level to supervisor. David often kept to himself, but had a keen sense of humor that drew people to him. He enjoyed pranks and telling jokes. Making people laugh brought him great joy. He was a diehard Cowboys fan. Good, bad, or ugly, he always backed “the Boys”. David could often be found wearing Harley Davidson gear. He enjoyed riding and many of his friends knew him only as “Heavy-D”.
David is preceded in death by his loving wife: Billie Faye Houghton, his son: Timothy Paul Houghton, and his father: Paul George Houghton. He leaves his memories to be cherished by his mother: Rita Houghton; sisters: Melissa Johnson and husband Dwayne, Kerris Flowers and husband Warren and Martha McDougle; and brother: Ernest Houghton and wife Myna, all of Odessa, Texas. He leaves behind many adoring nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
The family will receive friends at Acres West Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, December 27, 2012 at Vine Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Robert Lamb. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Jacque Lee Morsey, 77, of Odessa passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Hospice House in Odessa. She was born in Sperry, Oklahoma on September 30, 1935 to Jack and Geraldine Crank. She met and married the love of her life, John Morsey in 1954.
Jacque accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior while attending a church camp when she was 13 and was baptized in Falls Creek, Oklahoma. After marrying John she was a housewife and mother for many years until John’s passing in 1977. She worked at Walmart as a clerk for 20 years where she retired in 2011. Jacque loved to read, sew and country and western dancing. She was an award winning bowler in leagues out of Eunice, NM.
Her grandkids were her pride and joy.
Those left to cherish her love and memory are her sons: Roger and wife Kristy Morsey of Morrill, Maine and Rex and wife Denise Morsey of Odessa; daughter: Debi Alves of Odessa and daughter in law: Debra Morsey of Roswell, New Mexico; sisters: Mary Cooper of Tusla, Oklahoma and Linda Garrett of Owasso, Oklahoma;
Eleven grandchildren and Four great grandchildren.

Myla Rae Madrid, infant daughter of Michael Madrid and Jessica Callahan of Odessa, was born and returned straight to the arms of Jesus on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at Medical Center Hospital.
She is also survived by her grandparents: Roger Madrid, Sr. of Odessa, Stephanie King of Houston, and Gloria Madrid of Odessa.

Ted Robert Luke Brown, age 31, of Odessa, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at his Odessa residence. He was born in Midland at home on June 27, 1981 to Timothy Parker and Lydia Jane (Blair) Brown. He was a musician and a landscaper.
Robert was a loner and an animal lover. He had always wanted to be a musician and played guitar. He played “death metal” songs. His hero was “Dimebag Darrell”. Robert was a Texas Ranger and Indianapolis Colts fan. He also loved to travel.
He is survived by his mother: Lydia Jane Cobb of Odessa; brother: Richard Lee Brown of Odessa; sister: Pamela Justice and husband Vitale of Odessa; aunt: Shirley Brown-Aycock of Odessa; and numerous cousins.
His step father: Roland Cobb, his niece: Pamela Ann Justice, his grandparents and two uncles, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be 10:00 am Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Carl Anderson. Interment will follow at Brunson Memorial Cemetery in Eunice, New Mexico. Robert will be buried there with his family - his grandmother, Boots Casey, niece, Pamela Ann Justice, and step-father, Roland Cobb. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

born on March 29, 1945, in Abilene, TX to Lora Emily Yarbrough Mann
and the late Boyd Wendell Jones. She
was a special needs education teacher for MHMR.
She is survived by her mother: Lora

Mann both of Bullhead City, AZ., John David Mann of Gilmer, TX; and
sister: Ann Irvin of Odessa.
She was preceded in death by her

Mary Spicer Roczniak, 62, of Odessa passed away on Friday, December 21, 2012 at Hospice House in Odessa. She was born on the isle of Malta on May 5, 1950 to James and Josephine (Zammit) Spicer. She married Joe Roczniak on July 28, 1971.
Mary worked as a custodian at Ector County
Courthouse and Odessa Sheriff Dept. for 20 years until her
retirement in 2004. She enjoyed taking pictures and dearly loved her only son, grandson and her husband very much.
Those left to cherish her love and memory are her husband: James Roczniak of Odessa; her only son: James Roczniak of Odessa; one brother: Tony Spicer of England; three sisters: Doris Spicer of England, Ann Spicer of Malta, Texas, and Carmen Tufigno; and one beloved grandson.

Thresa Annetta Harris, age 57, of Odessa, passed from this life on Saturday, December 22, 2012 in Zion, Illinois. She was born in Winters, TX on October 13, 1955 to Melvin Jarrell and the late Lavern Stevens Kimberlin. She was a homemaker first and foremost with family being her #1 priority.
Thresa worked at The Depot for 12 years and at Holloman Construction as a field secretary. She also worked with her husband running a ditching machine at Flint Construction. She was a busy person with many interests. She enjoyed working outside in her yard as well as staying busy with sewing and quilting. Thresa was also an accomplished cook and liked canning and Mexican food. When she needed a break, she would go to the Black Gold Casino in Hobbs and gamble.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband: Willie Harris of Odessa; father: Melvin Jarrell and wife Barbara of Big Spring; son: James Miller and wife Jesica of Odessa; four daughters: Shelia Rose and husband Don and Shirley Drugan and husband Bob, all of Odessa, and Kristy King of Springtown and Jamie Meek and husband Don of Midland; two brothers: Royce Jarrell of Odessa and Dwayne Jarrell of Longview; three sisters: Patricia Snowden of Big Spring, Deborah Barree of Dallas and Linda Lainer of Midlothian; fourteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and her beloved black lab: Buddy.
She was preceded in death by her mother and one brother: Clarence Whitfitt.

Aurelio Luis Romero, age 20, of Odessa passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, December 22, 2012 at Medical Center Hospital. He was born April 20, 1992 in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico to Aurelio and Andrea (Ramirez) Romero.
Luis, a second year student at Odessa College, truly loved wrestling and wanted to become a professional. He enjoyed listening to rock music and had previously played bass in the band, Avenged Sevenfold. He was frequently found writing poetry and songs and enjoyed playing video games.
Those left behind to cherish his love and memories are his parents: Andrea and Aurelio Romero of Odessa; one brother: Sergio and wife Flor Romero of Odessa; two sisters: Diana and husband Pete Trevino of San Antonio and Zahayra and husband Stephen Salgado of Odessa. He also leaves behind his maternal grandmother: Esperanza Olivaras and his paternal grandfather: Toribio Romero, both of Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico.
Rosary is scheduled for 7 PM, Friday, December 28, 2012 at Acres West 24 Hr Chapel. Mass is to be celebrated at 9 AM, Saturday, December 29, 2012 at St Joseph Catholic Church with celebrant Father Frank Chavez. Interment will follow at the Peaceful Garden section of Ector County Cemetery. Pallbearers are Sergio Romero, Pete Trevino, Stephen Salgado, Aaron, Valenzuela, Jacob Ramirez and Salvador Aranda. Pedro G. Martinez, beloved father of Sara Ofelia, Dora, Rudy, and Elena, departed this earth to be with his Heavenly father on Sunday, December 23, 2012.
“Pete” as he was lovingly known by his friends and family, was born on January 2, 1930 in Kenedy, TX to Enrique and Guadalupe Martinez.
He cherished his brothers, Celestino and Lalo, and twin sisters, Ofelia and Bertha.
He married Sara Vigil on September 11, 1953. He was a man of faith and religiously read his Bible. He loved spending time with his family and friends, listening to music and barbequing. He was a very caring and loving grandfather and great-grandfather and was adoringly called “Dad” by all of his grandchildren. He put everyone before himself and was always available when he was needed.
He is survived by his son: Rudy Martinez and wife Rosa of Hobbs, NM; and daughters: Sara Ofelia Lopez and Dora Martinez of Odessa, TX, Elena M. Kivett and husband Patrick of Austin, TX. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren: Rolando Jr., Erica, Ariana, Elizabeth, Armando, Veronica, Carlos, Matthew, Jared, Luke, and Jace, and fourteen great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, parents, brother (Lalo) and sister (Bertha).
The family wishes to send special thanks to all of the staff at Seabury Center and Hospice House. Words cannot express our gratitude for the love and care given to our loved one. We also greatly appreciate the prayers and support of Pastors Daniel Hernandez and Frank Cedillos.

Maria Herrera, age 74, of Odessa, passed away on Sunday, December 23, 2012 at Hospice House of Odessa. She was born in Ojinaga, Mexico on February 12, 1938 to the late Concepcion and Dominga (Mijares) Hinojosa. She was a homemaker.
She is survived by her husband: Humberto Herrera of Presidio; son: Aldo Herrera of Greeley, CO; five daughters: Emma Rey of Odessa, Gloria Flores of Monahans, Julieta Lucero of Ojinaga, Yesenia Villalobos of Julesboro, CO, and Yadira Herrera of Odessa; two brothers: Isidro Hinojosa of Odessa and Amadore Hinojosa of Ojinaga; four sisters: Cruz Holguin, Gregoria Subia, Dolores Rios, and Anita Lozano, all of Ojinaga; fifteen grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.
