P McLemore  P N McLemore
Philip Norvell McLemore

Philip Norvell McLemore, age 52, of Odessa, passed away on Friday, February 01, 2013 at Hospice House.  He was born in Sweetwater, TX on January 4, 1961 to the late Harold and Doris McLemore.  He was a roughneck.

He is survived by his wife:  Sherry Dean of Odessa; and numerous brothers and sisters.

Memorial services will be 4:00 pm Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Zion Christian Church, officiated by Bro. Dewey Blevins.   Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

J Jones
James “Jimmy” Dale Jones

James “Jimmy” Dale Jones, age 67, of Odessa, passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at Medical Center Hospital.  He was born in Lamesa, TX on August 2, 1945 to the late Alva Willis Jones and Hettie May (Bussell) Jones.  He was a US Navy Veteran and worked as a roofer and security guard.

Jimmy was small in stature and his siblings usually introduced him as their “little older brother”.  He enjoyed bowling and was very people oriented.  Jimmy could be an hornery cuss, but had a big heart and loved animals.  He spent the last three years at Sienna Nursing Home, where one of the nurses would have him take care of her puppies.  In the Navy, he spent 4 out of 7 years on the USS Princeton.  He was last stationed in Kodiak, Alaska where he thoroughly enjoyed the fishing.  He was always talking about the shrimp and crabs there.  Jimmy had even caught a huge Alaskan king crab on a rake.  He proudly displayed its mounted shell for some time.  Jimmy was very creative with his hands.  One of his creations was a homemade airboat with a VW motor.  Unfortunately, when he took it to Lake Spence for a fishing trip, it sunk and he lost it and all of his fishing equipment.

Jimmy is survived by his two brothers:  Robert W. Jones of Lubbock, TX and Kenneth W. Jones of Odessa, TX; and his sister:  Jerri McKenzie of LaGrange, TX.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel. 

Ronald William Butler

Ronald William Butler, age 46, of Odessa, died Saturday, February 9, 2013 at his residence.  He was born in Monroe, LA on December 8, 1966 to Joyce (Bolton) Gaines and the late Ronald Butler.  He was an oilfield worker.

He is survived by his mother:  Joyce Gaines of Odessa, and two sisters:  Amy Becker of Odessa and Joy DuCrest of St. Joseph, LA.

Memorial services will be held in Louisiana at a later date.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel, 8115 W. University Blvd. Odessa, TX. 

Earl Anthony “Tony” Wolsey, Jr.

Earl Anthony “Tony” Wolsey, Jr. age 61, of Odessa, died Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Hospice House of Odessa.  He was born in Yuma, AZ on August 22, 1951 to the late Earl Anthony Wolsey Sr. and Rose Marie (Hernandez) Wolsey.  He was a machinist and built power tongs at Eckel Manufacturing.  He was Baptist and a Master Mason.

Tony was a passionate and loving husband and father.  He was quick to help even before anyone asked.  He was good with his hands and a “jack of all trades” - building, plumbing and mechanics, as well as a master at barbequing.  He loved animals and always had pets.  He was also an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Tony loved to travel and always made sure to include his children in his plans.  His grandchildren were the light of his life.  He was an amazing man who was loved by many and will be missed by all.

He is survived by his wife and best friend of almost 40 years:  Sharon (Parrent) Wolsey of Odessa; son:  Anthony Joshua Lloyd Wolsey and wife Brittney of W. Tawakoni, TX; daughter:  Katherine Rose Margie Wolsey of Racine, WI; brother:  Robert Albert Wolsey of Tulsa, OK; sister:  Lenore “Snooks” Blaker and husband Lonnie of Marceline, MO; three grandchildren:  Alana Wolsey, Vivica Wolsey, and Anthony Joshua “Bubba” Wolsey II; numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and sisters and brothers-in-law.

In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by one sister:  Genevive Rose Davis.

As Tony wished, no services will be held.  In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to Hospice House, 903 N. Sam Houston, Odessa, TX 79761.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel, 8115 W. University Blvd. Odessa, TX.

Ernesto "El Gallo" Dominguez Garcia

Ernesto Dominguez Garcia, age 77, of Pecos, passed from this life on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at Midland Memorial Hospital.  He was born in Ft. Davis, TX on December 29, 1935 to the late Concepcion and Carolina (Dominguez) Garcia.  He was self employed as a contractor and carpenter.  Ernesto was Catholic and a member of Santa Rosa Catholic Church of Pecos.

He is survived by his wife:  Evangelina “Eva” (Subia) Garcia of Pecos; three sons:  Ernest Garcia, Jr. of Pecos and Danny and Israel Garcia, both of Odessa; five daughters:  Irma Chavarria of Midland, Sally Roman of Odessa, Irene Tarin of Midland and Marshella Garcia of Odessa, and Becky Marrufo of Odessa;  one brother:  Joe Garcia of Ft. Davis; four sisters:  Bertha Terrazas of El Paso, Juanita Vijil of Las Cruces, NM, Enedina Lopez and Mary Lou Hernandez, both of Surprise, AZ; twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-two great-grandchildren.

His parents and two brothers, Johnny and Chon, preceded him in death.

Rosary will be said at Acres West Funeral Chapel, 8115 W. University Blvd. Odessa at 7:00 pm Thursday, February 14, 2013.  A Memorial Mass will be 3:00 pm Friday, February 15, 2013 at Santa Rosa Catholic Church, 620 E. 4th Street, Pecos, TX, officiated by Father Fabian Marquez.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Robert James Devers

Robert James Devers, age 60, of Odessa, passed away at his home on Tuesday, February 12, 2013.  He was born in Alliance, OH on July 25, 1952 to the late Robert John Devers and Ann Marie (Frtalich) Devers.  He was a US Army Veteran and a US Border Patrol detention agent.

Robert was a devout Catholic and his Lord was extremely important to him.  He was proud of his service to his country as well having served ten years with the Army and 25 with the Border Patrol.  He was very interested in current affairs and history and enjoyed reading political and historical novels.  He enjoyed caring for his longtime companion, Sedona, and always treated her children as his own.

He is survived by his sister:  Kathy Linskey and her children:  Rachel Sinsel and Zacary Linskey, all of Canton, OH; companion:  Sedona Lubkeman, her children:  Chad Singleton of Odessa and Dana Rene Malizia of Waterford, NY, and grandson:  Jacob Singleton of Odessa.

Graveside memorial services will be held at a later date in Alliance, OH.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Bernadine Janell (Feagan) Jessen

Bernadine Janell (Feagan) Jessen, age 75, of Odessa, passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at Medical Center Hospital.  She was born in Pitcher, OK on January 28, 1938 to the late Bernard William Feagan and Nadine Susan (Kennedy) Feagan.  Bernadine married George Thomas Jessen in Las Vegas, NV on January 18, 1959.  They enjoyed 31 years together before separated by his death in 1990.

Those left to cherish her memory are two sons:  Mark Thomas Jessen of San Angelo and Christopher Dean Jessen of Ft. Worth; daughter:  Alisa Nadine Morris of Odessa; three sisters:  Deanna Lavon Feagan of Santa Rosa, CA, Linda Ruth Feagan and Lucinda Drucilla Feagan, both of Odessa; eight grandchildren:  Dixie Higginbotham, John Morris, and Brandi Roundtree, all of Odessa, Kayla Settle and Kendra Jessen, both of Burleson, Krista Fowler of Lubbock, and Joshua and Amy Jessen, both of Houston; and thirteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs. Jessen is preceded in death by her son:  Ronald William Jessen; two brothers:  Ronald William Feagan and Bill Joe Feagan; and one sister:  Patricia Kay Johnson.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Saturday, February 16, 2013 at Acres West Funeral Chapel in Odessa.  Graveside services will follow at 2:30 pm in Miles, TX at Miles Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Yolanda “Jodi” Laree Conn

Yolanda “Jodi” Laree Conn, 60, of Odessa, passed away on Thursday, February 14, 2013, in Dallas, Texas. She was born November 24, 1952 to Robert H. Pena and the late Darla Ann Simmons in Carlsbad, NM. She married the love of her life Joe Conn on April 14, 1973 in Odessa.

Jodi was a loving mother and wife who was a care giver. She loved and enjoyed helping other people.   Jodi was a bookkeeper by profession and worked for B-Line Filter, Diesel Testers, and United Bearing.  She also volunteered as the “Prop Lady” at the Globe Theatre. Yolanda was a Christian by faith. She was an avid reader, a music lover, and adored her grand dogs.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband: Joe Conn; son: Spencer Allen Conn and wife Tamara; daughter: Bethany Laree Wilabay and husband Andy all of Odessa; father: Robert H. Pena of Fort Stockton; brothers: Michael Pena and Carl Pena both of Odessa; sister: Laura Lites of De Soto, TX; and extended family; and her six grand dogs.

Funeral services will be 1pm, Tuesday, February 19, 2013, at Acres West Funeral Chapel  officiated by Bro. Lonnie Hamil. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens section of Ector County Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Maria Lourdes “Luly” Anchondo

Maria Lourdes “Luly” Anchondo, age 48, of Pecos, NM, passed away at her residence on Wednesday, February 13, 2013.  She was born in Cuauhtémoc, Chihuahua, Mexico on November 1, 1964 to Cezar Muñoz and Hilda Hernandez. She was a homemaker.

She is survived by her husband:  Miguel Aceves Rodriguez of Pecos, NM; mother:  Hilda Hernandez of Silver City, NM; son:  Jose Rendon and wife Faviola of Odessa; four brothers:  Omar Hernandez, Tony Hernandez, Bobby Hernandez and Arturo Anchondo, all of Silver City, NM; three sisters:  Marisol Hernandez and Yvonne Hernandez, both of Silver City, NM and Maria Garcia of Odessa; and one grandson:  Jeremiah Rendon of Odessa.

She was preceded in death by her father, one son:  Eric; and her sister:  Marisella Jiminez.

Visitation and prayer services will be held at the church, Templo Piedra Angular, 209 W. Wolcott, Midland, TX.  Funeral services will be 10:00 am Wednesday, February 20, 2013 at Templo Piedra Angular, officiated by Pastor Jose Luis Chavez.  Interment will follow in the Peaceful Garden section of Ector County Cemetery in Odessa.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel of Odessa.

Scott T. Sommers

A gathering of family and friends will take place from 1:00-3:00 pm on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at the Williams Dingmann Family Funeral Home in St. Cloud, MN for Scott T. Sommers, age 51, of Odessa, Texas and formerly of St. Cloud who died in an auto accident Sunday, February 17, 2013.  Memorial services for family in friends in the Odessa area will be held at Acres West Funeral Chapel in Odessa; 3:00 pm Sunday, February 24, 2013, officiated by Pastor Brian Serrano.

Scott was born on January 24, 1962 to Donald and Dorothy (Leaf) Sommers in Hibbing, MN.  He grew up in St. Cloud and attended Apollo High School.  After high school Scott moved to Texas to begin working in the oil field, and for the past 20 years has been driving truck for Valley Protein.  Scott loved talking to family and friends on the phone day and night. While living in Texas Scott met and married Deborah Ballard; the couple was married for over 20 years.  He liked to tell folks in Texas “how they do it in Minnesota.”  Scott enjoyed telling stories and making people laugh with his great sense of humor.  He was sensible, sensitive, and a great caregiver.  Scott looked forward to coming back to Minnesota every year for the annual family reunion.  His family meant the world to him and he will be dearly missed. 

Scott is survived by his loving mother Dorothy of St. Cloud; siblings, Steven of Forreston, Sue (Dave) Souba of Mora, Gary (Janell) of Spicer; step-son, Guy (Irene) Ballard of Cool, TX; step-grandchildren who will forever miss their Pappy’s great sense of humor, Abigail, Zachary, Emily and Kyle Ballard.  Scott is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Holly, Ryan, Katelyn, Callie, Laura, Mitchell, Stormy, and Cole.

Scott was preceded in death by his father, Donald and wife, Deborah Ballard.

Bobby Lynn “Bob” Hukill

Bobby Lynn “Bob” Hukill, age 81, died Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Medical Center Hospital.  He was born in Amherst, TX on July 9, 1931.  He worked in oilfield sales. 

He is survived by his sons:  Joe Hukill and William Hukill both of Aztec, NM; and one granddaughter:  Sarah Hukill. 

He is preceded in death by his parents:  William and Myrtee (Warren) Hukill, and his wife:  Berneldia “June” (Ponder) Hukill.

Harold M. Curnett

Harold M. Curnett went to be with his Lord at 11:40 pm Monday, February 18, 2013 at the age of 72 years and 21 days.  He was born in Abilene, TX and was raised in Odessa.

He is survived by his children:  Harold Raymond Curnett of Weatherford and Ray’s mother, Dottie Fay of Abilene, and Harold Wayne Curnett, Frances Ann Woygesin and Sheila Lynn Jumper, all of Houston, and their mother, Mary; his sisters:  Sheila Long King and husband Bobby of Snyder and Sally Melson and husband Leslie of Odessa; nephews:  Johnny Harold Garrison and wife Connie of Odessa, Robert C. Long and wife Sandra of Breckenridge, Samuel R. Ricky Long of Odessa, Richard Dean Long Melson of Odessa; nieces:  Denise Bullock and husband Sam of Graham, Deana Lewis and husband Terry of Anson, Selena Melson of Odessa; special caregiver nieces:  Sally Jo and Jessica Melson of Odessa; four grandchildren; and several great-nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents:  John Pete and Juanita Schoonover; grandparents:  Charlie and Effie Nichols; and his uncles:  Woodrow and William Nichols.

The family wishes to thank the staff of Hospice House for their love and attention.

No services will be held at this time.
