|Feleica Dale Sims Jeffers|
Feleica Dale Sims Jeffers, age 51, of Odessa, went to be with the Lord at 1:15 pm on Sunday, March 17, 2013. She was born in Odessa on October 31, 1961 to Johnny and Karen Dale (Ross) Sims.
Feleica had a free spirit and a heart of gold. She wrote the most beautiful poems that spoke to the heart and would make anyone smile. Feleica had an amazing voice and loved to sing. She believed that although God made all kinds of people, He did make them all and they deserved respect regardless of the choices we made. She wrote in her diary that although she had regrets while she was living, she tried hard to make amends and wanted her children, family and friends to know she loved them all. She never carried a grudge. Feleica loved her Lord and Savior and had repented for all of her sins.
She was preceded to her heavenly home by her parents: Johnny and Karen Sims and sister: Teresa Sims Steffey.
Feleica is survived by her sisters: Leisa Sims Farris of Odessa and Brenda Sims Bailey of Aransas Pass; four children: daughter - Lenna Jonette Hamilton of Odessa and sons – John Michael Roy Leathers of Ft. Worth, Donnie Lee Leathers of Midland and David James Lambert of Odessa; a host of grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and her beloved dog, Freddie. We also wish to recognize the love of her life: Joel Chaney.
Memorial services are scheduled for 2:00 pm Friday, March 22, 2013 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Rev. Cecil R. Kelley. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.
A special recognition by Brandy Delaney to Feleica’s sisters, Brenda Bailey and Leisa Sims Farris, who have always been there for her. They were her best friends. Leisa never left her side during her final hours, holding her in her arms until our sweet Savior took her in His. Feleica and Brenda were so close that Feleica called her “Mama”. These sisters were rebels that held strong no matter how hard life got, but they knew that if it weren't for the Lord they would not have had strength at all.
Rest in Peace, Feleica. See you in Heaven our lovely sister.
