S Rardin
Samuel “Sammy” Lee Rardin

Samuel “Sammy” Lee Rardin, age 54, of Odessa, passed away on June 6, 2013 at his home.   He was born in Bryan, TX on November 8, 1958 to Edward and Mary Jane (Williams) Rardin.  He worked as a roustabout.

Sammy is survived by his daughter:  Brenda Kay Brittain of Midland; brother:  James “Jimmy” Rardin of Midland; and three sisters:  Judy Kimbrell, Cathy Heacock and husband Orvel, and Lori Kunkle and husband Daniel Cato, all of Odessa; and two grandchildren.

Memorial services will be 11:00 am Friday, June 14, 2013 at the family home, 10944 W. Love Drive, Odessa, officiated by Bro. Dewey Blevins.

Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Jenny Kay Huertas

Jenny Kay Huertas, age 42, of Odessa, passed from this life on Friday, June 7, 2013 at Hospice House.  She was born in Iraan, TX on December 21, 1970.  She was a certified nurse’s assistant. 

She is survived by her mother:  Patricia Butler of Odessa; son:  Joshua Anthony Weber of Odessa; four daughters:  Kriste Weber of Odessa, Kara Loya and husband Enrique of Ft. Stockton, April Huertas of Odessa, and Tassie Huertas of Midland; two brothers:  David Weber and Jimmy Weber, both of Odessa; sister:  Kathy Cluff of Phoenix, AZ; and three grandchildren:  Blake Dodson of Odessa, Aiden Loya of Ft. Stockton, and Enrique Loya III of Ft. Stockton.

Her sister:  Karen Rowlett, precede her in death.

Visitation will be at Acres West Funeral Chapel, 8115 W. University Blvd. Odessa, TX on Saturday, June 8, 2013 from Noon until 9:00 pm and Sunday, June 9, 2013 from 1:00 to 9:00 pm.  Memorial services will be held at a later date.

S BROCK

Sam Amon Brock

Sam Amon Brock, age 41, of Odessa and Mankato, KS, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2013 in Chandler, OK.  He was born in Meridian, MS on August 23, 1971.  Growing up, one of Sam’s grandfathers taught him gardening and the other taught him pipeline work.  Both were lifetime loves.  He always had an affinity for nature and had a great love for the outdoors.  He would go fishing and spent time whenever he could just enjoying life in the mountains.  He traveled around the country doing pipeline work and absolutely loved it and was truly at his best on the job.

A good old boy at heart, Sam was a really good person who would give the shirt off of his back to help someone else.  A lover of whiskey, women and song, he enjoyed dancing and shooting pool.  Another favorite hobby was aggravating his sisters. Although Sam’s life may seem short, he lived it to the fullest.  There was nothing on his bucket list that he did not get to do.

Those left to cherish his memory are his fiancée:  Gina Perkins of Mankato, KS; mother:  Peggy Lanell (Ponder) Chambers of Odessa; daughter:  Amber Brock of Odessa; and five sisters:  Loretta Hartsell, Elisabeth Mitcham, Peggie Snyder, Deana Glenn, and Amanda Mitchell, all of Odessa.

Memorial services will be 2:00 pm Thursday, June 13, 2013 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, 8115 W. University Blvd. Odessa, officiated by Elder David Ponder.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel. 

W Bosworth
William Eldon “Bill” Bosworth

William Eldon “Bill” Bosworth, age 66, of Odessa, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Hospice House of Odessa.  He was born in Odessa on June 20, 1946 to the late Guy E. Bosworth and Frances (Dierup) Bosworth.  He was a welder and mechanic and a US Army Veteran.  He also enjoyed working on boats.

He is survived by his daughter:  Patricia Moore of Pittsburg, TX; sister:  Dana Polson and husband Jerry of Durant, OK; and nephew:  Jeremy Polson of Durant, OK.

In addition to his parents, one nephew:  Brian Polson, precedes him in death.

Graveside services with military honors will be Friday, June 14, 2013 at 1:00 pm at Texas State Veteran’s Cemetery at Abilene in Abilene, TX.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel, 8115 W. University Blvd. Odessa, TX.

   

I Garza

Isolda Longoria Garza

Isolda Longoria Garza, age 72, of Odessa, passed from this life on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Medical Center Hospital.  She was born in Ozona, TX on January 29, 1941 to the late Manuel and Elida (Longoria) Garza.  She was a homemaker, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Those left to cherish her love and memory are her daughters:  Echo Chabarria, Crystal Granado, and Melissa Gonzales, all of Odessa, and Elaine Garza of Lewisville; brothers:  Arnulfo Ortega of Mexico and Alejandro Ortega of Spain; four sisters:  Amelia Granado and Ruby Urias, both of Dallas, and Susie Gomez and Sarah Ortega, both of Odessa; twelve grandchildren and thirty-one great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband:  Blas Tavarez; and two brothers:  Dario Garza and Arturo Ortega.

Prayer services will be held Tuesday evening, June 11, 2013 at 7:00 pm at Acres West Funeral Chapel, 8115 W. University Blvd. Odessa.  Funeral services will be 10:00 am Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Pastor Bob . Interment will follow at Peaceful Garden of Ector County Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Lynda Ann McCain

Lynda Ann McCain, age 52, of Odessa, passed from this life on Sunday, June 9, 2013 at her residence.  She was born in Abilene, TX on November 14, 1960 to Jim and Martha (Machen) Crownover.  She married Thomas McCain in Odessa at Temple Baptist Church on December 4, 1987.  She was a homemaker, beloved wife, daughter, mother, and grandmother.  She was a member of Life Change Baptist Church.

Lynda enjoyed reading, spending quiet time with a good novel.  A flower lover, gardening was also a favorite pastime.  She could also spend hours fishing on the boat, waiting for a bite.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband:  Thomas McCain of Odessa; parents:  Jim and Martha Crownover of Lewisville; sons:  Raymond McCain and Derek McCain, both of Odessa; daughter:  Jessica Guthrie of Manor; brother:  Glen Crownover of Ft. Worth; sisters:  Teresa Crownover of Lewisville and Dana Roberson of Amarillo; seven grandchildren; and eight nieces and nephews:  Kathy Almonza, Sharon Matlock, Jesse Roberson, Larry Wayne Roberson, Daryl Roberson, Jamie Roberson, Mallory Carlson, and Andy Cramer.

Memorial services will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Life Change Baptist Church, 1000 N. Texas, Odessa.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Leroy Ross

Leroy Ross, 81, of Odessa departed to be with Our Lord on June 9, 2013, at Medical Center Hospital. Leroy was born on April 25, 1932 to Allison and Ruth Ross in Live Oak County, Texas.

Leroy retired from The Western Company where he worked for 30 years. Leroy was very active in the community always helping others. He was a member of West Odessa First Baptist for over 30 years. Leroy contributed to Gods Learning channel and was a member of the Lions Club for over 20 years.

Those left to cherish his love and memory are one daughter: Elaine Gollaher and husband George of Odessa.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Margret Ann (King) Ross in 2006.

The Funeral Service will be at Acres West Funeral Chapel, 8115 W. University Blvd, on Friday June 14, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. officiated by Brother Wayne Shelton and Pastor Glenn Clark. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Jesus Gomez Reyes

Jesus Gomez Reyes, age 65, of Odessa, Texas, passed away Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.  He was born in Grandfalls, TX on January 29, 2013 to the late Guadalupe and Ciria (Gomez) Reyes.  He worked in the oilfield on the rigs.  He was Catholic. 

He is survived by his four daughters:  Elizabeth Reyes of Midland, Maricela Reyes, Linda Rueda, and Leticia Reyes, all of Odessa; son:  Jesus Jose Reyes of Odessa; thirteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren and one on the way.      

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm at Acres West 24 Hour Chapel on Sunday, June 16, 2013.  Funeral services will be at Acres West 24 Hour Chapel at 2:00 PM Monday, June 17, 2013, Fr. Joseph Mamachen officiating.  Interment will be at Peaceful Garden of Ector County Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel, 8115 W. University Blvd, Odessa, Texas.

Felipe Contreras Pallan

Felipe Contreras Pallan, age 76, of Odessa, passed from this life on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at Hospice House.  He was born in Balmorhea, TX on August 23, 1936 to the late Leonor and Angelita (Contreras) Pallan.  Felipe married Susana Falcon in Saragosa in September of 1963, this year would have been their 50th anniversary.  He was a farmer and a member of the 7th Day Adventist Church.

He is survived by his beloved wife:  Susana Pallan of Odessa; two sons:  Robert Payan and wife Debbie of Cleburne and Manuel Payan and wife Michelle of Odessa; six daughters:  Delia Chavez and husband Sammy Green, Teresa Hernandez, Yolanda Rayos, Diana Payan and husband Adam Valdez, Crissy Pallan and husband Auden Hernandez, and Priscilla Olivas and husband Albert, all of Odessa; brothers:  Tito Pallan of Midland, Pete Pallan of Caramillo, CA, Arturo Pallan of Pecos, and Sammy Payan of Crane; sisters:  Damas Garcia of Westmoreland, CA and Susie Stringer of Dallas; twenty-six grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren and one on the way.

He was preceded in death by his mother:  Angelita Pallan; father:  Leonor Pallan; the mother who raised him:  Toribia Bustamante; son:  Felipe Pallan Jr.; brother:  Lupe Pallan; grandson:  Andrew Rodriguez; and two sons-in-law:  Greg Rayos, Jr. and Ruben Chavez.

Funeral services will be 10:00 am Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, 8115 W. University Blvd. Odessa, officiated by Pastor Villegas.  Interment will follow at Peaceful Garden of Ector County Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Preciliano G. Lujan

Preciliano G. Lujan, age 87, of Odessa, died Tuesday, June 12, 2013 at his home.  He was born in Boquilla, Mexico on February 4, 1926.  He was a welder in construction and was Catholic. 

He is survived by his wife:  Fransisca Lujan of Odessa; six sons:  Daniel T. Lujan of Odessa, Ruben T. Lujan of Segundo, CA, Rodrigo T. Lujan of Ojinaga, MX, Oscar T. Lujan of Odessa, Prisciliano Lujan of Norwalk, Calif., and Guadalupe T. Lujan of Odessa; three sisters:  Agricola Lujan of Kermit, Ezequiel Villa of Lovington, NM, and Librada Lujan Rubio of Midland; and brother:  Valente Lujan of Odessa. 

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 PM Friday, June 14, 2013 at Acres West Funeral Chapel.  Funeral Mass will be at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church at 9:30 am Saturday, June 15, 2013, Fr. Mark Woodruff officiating.  Interment will be at Peaceful Garden of Ector County Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel, 8115 W. University Blvd, Odessa, Texas.
