Alfredo Molina Solis, 37, of Odessa passed away on August 7, 2013
at his residence. He was born on January 18, 1976 in Mexico. He was
Alfredo was a very happy, outgoing and sociable person. He had many, many friends. For fun he enjoyed music, cooking, going to see movies, and fishing, just relaxing by the lake.
Alfredo was into new things, he would try anything once. He learned to ice skate and loved it. Traveling and seeing different places was a favorite of his. Alfredo will be truly missed by many.
He is survived by his parents Joel and Martha Solis of Odessa and one sister Maria Solis of Odessa.
Services will be a viewing on Friday, August 9, 2013 from 8:00 am to 9:00 pm at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Cremation will follow. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel, 8115 W. University Blvd. Odessa, Texas 79764
|Charles "Chuck" Greer|
Charles Greer, 64, of Odessa passed away on Thursday, August 8,
2013 at his residence. He was born in Kermit, Texas on August 6,
1949. Charles served in the U. S. Army. On July 1, 1987 Charles
married the love of his life, Annie Murphy.
Charles was a truck driver and loved to party. He would party down with his Budweiser while he fished. Motorcycles and giving people a hard time were favorite pastimes of his. He was a jokester who loved to irritate his wife. He loved his dogs and PeeWee was his favorite.
Those left to cherish his love and memory are his wife: Annie Greer of Odessa; son: Roy Greer of Snyder, Texas; stepson: Larry Murphy of Lindenhurst, Illinois; daughter: Cheva Smith of La Porte, Texas; step daughter: Amber Jackson of Friendswood, Texas; sister: Flo Gosney; and five grandchildren.
Services will be privately held. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Louis Ancy Sutton, 89, of Odessa, Texas went to be with Our Lord
and Savior on the evening of August 9th, 2013. Louis was born on
January 9, 1925 in Anson, Texas and the family moved to Odessa in
the late 20”s. After high school he served in the Navy and was
stationed on the U.S.S. Enterprise during much of WWII.
After returning home he joined the Odessa Fire Department when he met and married the love of his life, Patsy Ruth Ellis in 1946. They were married for a blessed 62 years and had one son, Phillip. Together, Louis and Pat moved about different parts of the country but finally returning to Odessa where they built and ran a successful business in West Odessa for almost 40 years. He loved his family and friend and always kept everyone laughing with a good joke. His kind smile and contagious laughter will be missed by many.
Louis is survived by his son: Phillip and wife Gae of Odessa; sister: Ruth Wyatt of Ft. Worth; Granddaughters: Brittany Stewart of Midland and Leslie Reynolds of Odessa; Grandson: Josh Nelson of Odessa; Great Grandson: Conner Reynolds. Along with nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
Louis is preceded in death by his brother: Glenn Sutton and parents: Louis Sutton, Sr. and Bertha Ellis Sutton.
Visitation will be Monday, August 12, 2013 and Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Louis will be laid to rest next to his wife and parents at Resthaven Memorial Park in Midland, Texas following the funeral service.

Adelaida Chavez Natividad, 99, of Odessa, passed away on Friday, August 9,
2013 at her residence.
Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. Sunday at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church officiated by Father Lorenzo Hatch. Burial will be at Los Angeles Garden in the Ector County Cemetery. Arrangements are by Acres West Funeral Chapel.
She was born in Terlingua. She was a Catholic and a homemaker.
Those left to cherish her love and memory are sons, Marcelino Natividad, Florentino Natividad, Jesus Natividad and Cecilio Natividad; daughters, Maria de la Luz Garay, Margarita Carrasco, Concepcion Moreno, Maria del Guerrero Galindo and Carlota Padilla; and sister, Josefa Chavez Quiroz.
|Marvin “Sonny” Adams Jr|
Marvin “Sonny” Adams Jr., 65, passed away on Friday, August 9, 2013
in Odessa, TX. Sonny was born in Danville, Kentucky on May 9, 1948
to Chester and Ernestine Adams. He met then married the love of his
life Joyce Barner Adams on June 5, 1965. Sonny was self employed in
his later years.
Sonny was a Christian man who always tried to lead people to the Lord. He was a prankster and a jokester. He loved making people smile and laugh. Rescuing people and animals was one way he showed his love, always helping other people who fell on hard times and rescuing five dogs, two cats and a bird. His schnauzer “Troubles” was his buddy. Sonny was very big hearted and very generous. One of the happiest times in his life was when he worked for McVean & Barlow and was assisting with the auction. Sonny was a big ole happy fella as well as a wonderful Husband, Dad, Brother and Grandpa that will be missed by many.
Those left to cherish his memories are his wife: Joyce Adams of Odessa; Daughter: Rachel and husband Jerry Curtis of Odessa; Son in law: Tommy Adams; Sister: Jennifer Palmer of Casa Grande, Az.; Rescue Child: Kathy Thorman; Grandchildren: Caitlin Curtis, Matthew Jones, Natasha and husband Justin Stewart, Brandy Davis and Brad Templeton; Great Grandchildren: Bailey Jones, Jaycob Jones, Nyla and Jarrett Stewart.

Billy Gene Elam, 82, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, August
10, 2013 in Odessa Texas. Billy was born to Rufus Elam and Gertrude
Elam on December 6, 1930 in Wells Point, Texas. He retired with
Gulf Oil as a Supervisor.
He was affectionately known as “Poppy” to everyone. Poppy was an awesome and great dad and a great granddad. He was a good and very generous kind hearted person. Poppy was outspoken and stubborn at times. He had no exes in his life, if you were ever in the family you stayed in the family. Poppy was a hard worker and loved life and family. He stuck to his beliefs and loved animals, especially his dogs. He was a powerful and all around good guy. He will be missed and was loved by many.
Those left to cherish his memories are two sons: Ronny Elam and Ricky and wife Sherry Elam of Odessa, four daughters: Connie Harris and husband Nathan of San Antonio, Pam Robbins and husband Barry of The Colony Texas, Vickie Rossell and husband Jeff of Odessa, TX, and Julie Cichy and husband Dave of Dallas, TX. Fourteen Grandchildren and twelve Great Grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday August 12, 2013 at Double Tree Hotel, 117 W. Wall Street, Midland, TX, in the Civic Room. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel, 8115 W. University, Odessa,TX.

John Andrew Vassilion, age 54, of Odessa, passed from this life on Saturday, August 10, 2013. He was born in Chicago, IL on August 30, 1958 to Andrew and Mary Therese Vassilion. He graduated from Permian High School in 1976. He then served in the US Navy until he was honorably discharged. After his discharge, he worked for several years in California for Boeing. He later studied to become a chiropractor. After returning to Odessa in 2011, he had worked at Halliburton and was currently working in the medical field.
He is survived by a host of friends.
Graveside services with military honors will be 12 Noon, Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at the Texas State Veteran’s Cemetery at Abilene in Abilene, TX, officiated by Danny “Ductape” Morris. The Patriot Guard will provide escort to Abilene. Local memorial services will be 10:00 am Wednesday, August 21, 2013 at the Chapel of Crossroads Fellowship, 6901 E. Hwy 191, Odessa, officiated by Pastor Colston Copeland. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Derrick Joseph Current, 33, of Odessa, passed away on August 11,
2013. Derrick was the son of Doug and Karen Current and was born on
August 8, 1980 in Boise, ID.
Derrick’s kids meant the world to him and he always put them first and foremost. He was a very outgoing person who loved people and had tons of friends. One of Derrick’s favorite hobbies was fishing. He and his family moved to Odessa in 2006 to begin work in the oil field. He started working for Gabe’s Casing and Laydown Services. Derrick was loved by all and will be missed dearly by all who knew him.

Derrick is preceded in death by his father: Douglas Current and sister: Rebekah Current.

Gail Eugene Boman, 73, of Odessa, Texas, died on Monday, August 12,
2013 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa Texas. He was born in
Parsons, Kansas on May 8, 1940 to Gail Orville and Pauline Mae
Boman. Gail worked in construction.

Justino Hernandez De La Cruz, age 83, of Odessa, passed away on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at Deerings Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in San Luis, Potosi, Mexico on April 14, 1930 to Mateo Hernandez and Juana De La Cruz Hernandez. He worked maintenance for Interstate Gas Treating.
Justino was a hard worker and a family man. An early riser, he enjoyed working in his yard, digging and planting. He thought if he was up, everyone else should be up also. Justino was always happy and loved being with his family.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife: Eduarda Herrera Castillo De La Cruz of Mexico; three sons: Santana Hernandez De La Cruz and wife Mercedes of Odessa, Acencion Hernandez De La Cruz and Julian Hernandez De La Cruz and wife Patricia, all of Houston; four daughters: Clara Hernandez De La Cruz and Maria Hernandez De La Cruz both of Mexico; Rosa Hernandez De La Cruz Camacho and husband Nicolas of Odessa, and Olga Lydia Hernandez De La Cruz and husband Noe of Mexico; two sisters: Juana Hernandez De La Cruz and Dominga Hernandez De La Cruz, both of Mexico; and thirty-one grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
