Armando Vasquez Burrola, Jr. “A.J.”, age 25, of Odessa, passed from this life on Friday, August 16, 2013 in Odessa. He was born in Odessa on October 22, 1987, the son of Armando Burrola, Sr. and Silvia Vasquez. He was an employee at Standard Sales – Budweiser distributor. He studied with Jehovah’s Witnesses.

Vasquez; sisters: Cindy Burrola, Melissa Burrola and (twin) Amanda Burrola Galindo and husband Matthew, all of Odessa; half brothers: Marc Anthony and Fabian Ray Burrola, both of Odessa; nieces and nephews: Maliyah, Nathanyl, Edward and Matthew Jr. “Mateo”; girlfriend: Cathy Galindo of Odessa; and devoted cousins: Lully and Carolina Lara, whose outpouring of love and loyalty have been treasured.

Sandra Louise “Sandi” Drube, age 66, of Midland, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at her residence. She was born in Pine Bluff, Arkansas on July 3, 1947 to the late Robert Edward Wright, Sr. and Rosa Lee (Parr) Wright. She married Warren “Gene” Drube in Midland on September 14, 1985. He preceded her to their Heavenly Home on December 22, 2008. Sandi was a member of West Kentucky Baptist Church. Never idle, she was a waitress in a café until illness prevented her from working.
Those left to cherish her love and memory are her sons: Daniel Robinson of San Marcos and Michael Robinson of Big Spring; daughter: Rosa Robinson of Corpus Christi; sister: Shirley Mills of Ft. Worth; five grandchildren: Nicole Robinson, Camden Robinson, Michael Lee Robinson, Uriah Robinson, and Dany Robinson; and two great-grandchildren with one on the way.
In addition to her parents and husband, Sandi is preceded in death by her three brothers: Robert Wright, Jr., Jackie Wright, and Jimmy Wright; and four sisters: Jean Falkner, Dorothy Wright, Jerry Wright, and Quanah Wright.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at West Kentucky Baptist Church officiated by Pastor Bob Porterfield. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Halton Marvin “Jack” Trout, age 86, of Odessa, passed from this life on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at the Memphis Convalescent Center in Memphis, TX. He was born in Oil City, LA on Sunday, January 2, 1927 to the late Marvin and Myrtle (Gardner) Trout. He worked in the oilfield, drilling and mud engineer, then later for Ace Hot Shot Company. He was a WWII Veteran having served in the US Army.
Jack was a Mason, member of AF & AM Lodge #1385, Master of the Royal Secret of the 32nd Degree of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite.
He is survived by his son: Craig Trout and wife Sharon of Odessa; grandson: Harley Ross Trout of Odessa; nieces and their families: Debra Decoux and Pamela Kirby, both of Spring, TX; and his “Baby” pup: Trixie.
Memorial services with military honors will be 6:00 pm Friday, August 23, 2013 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, 8115 W. University Blvd. Odessa, TX, officiated by Rev. Jimmy Braswell. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Ricco Elario Camacho, 3 months, of Odessa, Texas returned to Jesus' arms on August 21, 2013 at Covenant Women's and Childrens Hospital in Lubbock, Texas. Ricco was born on April 30, 2013 in Liberal, Kansas.
He is survived by his parents: Rey and Claudia Camacho, Jr.; paternal grandmother: Jacqui Andrade of Granada, Colorado; paternal grandfather: Rey Camacho, Sr. of Garden City, Kansas; maternal grandparents: Cresensio & Guadalupe Morales of Odessa, Texas; paternal great-grandfather: Fidel Camacho of Uvalde, Texas; paternal great- grandparents: Juanita & Felipe Ortiz of Granada, Colorado and Vicente Andrade of Granada, Colorado; maternal great- grandfather: Pilar Rodriguez of Midland, Texas; maternal great-grandparents: Rita Alvarado & Juan Beroza of Granada, Colorado; brothers: Elias Camacho and Rey Camacho III both of Odessa; and sister: Naythia Hernandez of Odessa.

Hunter Lynn Jackson, age 10, of Odessa left his home in Odessa to go to his eternal home on Friday, August 23, 2013. He was born in Odessa on July 19, 2003. Hunter was a student at Burleson Elementary and would have started 4th grade this year.
Hunter loved comic books. He wanted to be an artist and he drew and wrote his own comic books. He enjoyed swimming, computers, and video games (X Box). Hunter hated to put on clothes, (he’d much rather run around in his underwear), and he had a quirky habit of wearing only one sock at a time. One of his favorite things was scaring his Granny – Juanita.
Those left to cherish Hunter’s memory are his mother: Robin Chew; father: Gordon Jackson; brother: Dustin Lee Henderson; maternal grandmother: “Nana” Alys Chew; and paternal grandmother: “Granny” Juanita McDaniel, all of Odessa. He is also survived by a host of uncles, aunts, and cousins who loved him dearly. Those include: Joseph and Nerisa Chew, Daniel Chew, Audie and Rhonda Jackson, Steven and Donna Jackson, and Kelvin and Honey Jackson, all of Odessa, and Richard and Darlene Jackson and Allen and Susie Jackson, all of Hobbs, NM.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather: William Daniel Chew, paternal grandfather: C. C. Jackson, and uncle: Bryan Jackson.

Cruz Cepeda Olivas, age 21, of Odessa, was killed in a car accident in Andrews, TX on Sunday, August 25, 2013. He was born in Ojinaga, CH, Mexico. He worked as a welder in the oilfield.
He is survived by his wife: Joselin Aguirre Cepeda of Odessa; parents: Alfredo and Olga Cepeda of Ojinaga; maternal grandparents: Cruz and Ramona Olivas of Presidio; paternal grandparents: Marcelo Cepeda and Maria de Jesus Cepeda of Ojinaga; son: Armando Cepeda of Odessa; and two brothers: Yuren Cepeda and Jose Alfredo “Nuno” Cepeda, both of Ojinaga.
Funeral services will be at a later date in
Ojinaga, CH, Mexico with interment to follow at Panteon Colinas del
Eden in Ojinaga.

Adolfo “Fito” Porras, Jr. age 33, of Odessa, passed away tragically in Juarez, Mexico on Monday, August 26, 2013. He was born in Odessa on July 12, 1980 to Adolfo Acosta Porras and Martina Muniz. He graduated from OHS and Union College in Tyler, TX. He was a promoter for the Los Diamantes de Ojinaga.
He was a very happy person, very friendly with a beautiful smile that would brighten anyone’s day. A soccer enthusiast, he played in high school for OHS and in college. Fito was always very helpful with everyone in need. He was a great husband, father, son, brother, nephew, grandson, uncle, cousin and friend.
Fito is survived by his wife: Yolanda Porras of Odessa; father: Adolfo Acosta Porras and wife Rosa of Odessa; mother: Martina Muniz and husband Antonio Pedroza of Ojinaga, Mexico; paternal grandmother: Carmen Porras of Odessa; maternal great-grandmother: Donicia Martinez Porras of Odessa; one son: Adolfo Porras III “Adolfito” of Odessa; brothers: Jose Alfredo “Pepeyo” Porras, Ethan Porras and Alejandro Porras, all of Odessa; sisters: Ruby Idaida Guillen and husband Diego of Atlanta, GA and Cecilia Porras of Odessa; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.

Larry Scott Owens, age 47, went to be with our Lord on August 27, 2013. He was born on December 2, 1965 in Pomona, California to Donna Kay (DeCou) Otto. Scott was currently employed with Double D Tongs and had also worked about 15 years for Lewis Casing Crew.
Scott was a very caring person with an awesome, ever present smile. He was willing to help anyone at anytime. His favorite pastime was watching Netflix and spending time with his buddy “Bully”. Scott loved motorcycles. Scott was a hard worker and cared deeply for his coworkers. He was loved by all and will be missed deeply.
Those left to cherish his memories are his mother and father: Donna and Alfred Otto of Odessa; stepdaughter: Sarah Inman of Georgetown, TX; one brother; Chris C. Oscar Rocha Bejarano, age 61, of Odessa, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at his home. He was born in Chihuahua, Mexico on May 27, 1952 to the late Jose and Simona (Bejarano) Rocha. He worked in construction and masonry.
Oscar was a loving and happy man. He enjoyed music, dancing and BBQ. A friendly man, he loved to be with his family and friends.
Those left to cherish his love and memory include two daughters: Maribel Nieto and husband Carlos and Aideli Martinez and husband Javier, all of Odessa; sons: Elizer Rocha and wife Adriana and Oscar Rocha Jr. and wife Xochilt Casteñeda, all of Odessa; brothers: Jose Rocha and Miguel Rocha, both of Odessa and Jesus Rocha and wife Josie of Carlsbad, NM; sisters: Licha Juarez and husband Francisco, Antonia Ortega, and Bertha Juarez and husband Juan, all of Carlsbad, NM, and Leonila Rocha of Mexico; grandchildren: Selena, Aideli, Korina, Carlos, April, Arlette, Mia, Oscar Jr., Alexis, Alyssa, and Camila; and great-granddaughter: Khloe Morales.

|Nita Allene (Askins) Mattson|
Nita Allene (Askins) Mattson, age 49, of Odessa, passed away in Odessa on Wednesday, August 28, 2013. She was born in Loraine, TX on July 8, 1964. She was a secretary.
Nita was a warm hearted person with and engaging smile who mothered all the neighborhood children. An animal lover, she raised dogs and was always a friend to any lost fur baby. Nita would feed and care for little baby birds until they were able to fly away. She was a talented gardener who enjoyed raising flowers. Nita was a good wife and mother, loving daughter, and was very close to her sisters, her mother, and her father.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of over 26 years: Scott Mattson of Euless, TX; daughters: Amy Mattson of Euless and Ashley Mattson of Tiffin, OH; parents: Leon and Nell Askins of Odessa; three sisters: Pamela Ward and husband Jay of Gardendale, Sue Turner and husband Bobby of Greenwood, and Rita Kerley and husband Craig of Cabot, AR; and her special friend: Rodney Shives.
