M Andrews
Mamie L. Andrews

Mamie L. Andrews, a devout Jehovah’s Witness, who passed Wednesday, January 8, 2014, now awaits the resurrection.

She was born November 17, 1939 in Purdy, OK to Finis Leroy “Slick” Ivy and Dovie Lenora (Johnson) Ivy.  On May 11, 1954, she married the love of her life, Melvin G. Andrews.  They were blessed with a daughter, Jeanie A. Phillips and son, Darrell G. Andrews both of Odessa. Her life was enriched with five grandchildren: Natalie J. Uranga & husband Paul of League City, Lori D. Tomlinson & husband Chance of Odessa and Elizabeth Ballanger & husband Ethan of Dallas, Texas; and the loving memory of grandsons: Jeffery “Blake” Andrews and Phillip D. “Flipper” Andrews.

She absolutely relished making her milestone of becoming a great-grandmother or “GG” as she was sweetly called each great grandchild: Lillian Grace, Charlotte Rose, & Abigail Kate of Odessa & Joaquin and Zoey Adella of League City.

Anyone and everyone who ever met this precious, endearing woman always warmly felt her deep giving love and was sincerely touched by her contagious smile.

Our lives have all been FULLY blessed with the privilege of knowing her.  We feel so honored to have had the opportunity for Melvin to have had her as his loyal wife for almost 60 years, for her children to call her “Mommy”, and for her five grandchildren to call her “Granny”.  Most especially those last five young ones enjoyed calling her “GG”.

We now faithfully entrust her life to our heavenly father as we await our reunions.
