Carlos David Nuñez-Ruiz, age 36, of Odessa, died Saturday, April 12, 2014 in Odessa. He was born in Juarez, Mexico on October 8, 1977 to Ramon and Manuela Nuñez Gallardo. He was a ranch hand.
He is survived by his wife: Dolores Ruiz de Nuñez of Juarez, MX; one daughter: Ilce Daire Nuñez; three sons: Asael Ruiz, Carlos David Nuñez Ruiz and Saul Humberto Nuñez Ruiz, both of Juarez; and four brothers: Socorro Nuñez Ruiz of Roswell, NM and Jesus Antonio Nuñez Ruiz, Ramon Nuñez Ruiz and Marcos Fermin Torres, all of Juarez, MX.
Funeral services will be at a later date in Mexico. Burial will take place at Panteon Municipal in Satevo, Chihuahua, Mexico. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel in Odessa and Funeraria de Valle in Mexico.
|Josephine “Josie” Gloria Henson|
Josephine “Josie” Gloria Henson, age 60, passed
away on Monday, April 14, 2014 at Odessa Regional Medical Center in
Odessa. She was born on July 3, 1953 in La Luz, New Mexico. She
married Tom on February 23, 1973 in Tularosa, New Mexico.
Josie attended Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
A big hearted woman, she always put others
before herself. She was patient, loving, and devoted to all her
nieces, nephews, and godchildren and loved her sisters a lot. Josie
was a phenomenal cook, and she enjoyed making desserts, which Tom
would devour. She was a very creative individual, and she loved to
crochet. Josie also liked to gamble. Josie had two dogs that she
treated like her children. She also loved novellas, and when they
were on, you could bet that she was watching them, and everybody
knew they had better not interrupt her.
Those left to cherish Josie’s love and memory
is her husband, Tom; her sisters Veronica Miramontes and Marvin
Aragon, and Mary and Peter Lopez, all of Odessa; her five
godchildren, Angel, Karris, Alexia, and Crystal Lopez, and Alex
Huertas; and all her nieces and nephews.
Josie was preceded in death by her
grandparents, her mother: Crucita Madrid, her daughter:
Ashley, and her brother: Richard.
Rosary for Josie will be held Monday, April 21,
2014 at 7 pm at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be
held Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Holy Redeemer Catholic
Church, officiated by Father Michael Rodriguez. Arrangements

James H. “Cowboy” Conditt, age 82, of Odessa, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2014 at Medical Center Hospital. He was born in Hillsboro, TX on February 12, 1932 to the late Harold and Gladys (Johnson) Conditt. James was a US Army Veteran. A ladies’ man of many facets, he was a carpenter, poet, and artist.

Elisa A. Tercero, age 85, of Marfa, passed from this life on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at her home in Marfa. She was born in La Hacienda, TX on September 3, 1928 to the late Sabino and Tomasa (Madrid) Aguirre, Sr. She married Reynaldo Y. Tercero in Marfa on September 2, 1947 and they shared almost 37 years together before separated by his death March 30, 1984. She was a maid and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
Very active in her church, Elisa was a member of the “Guadalupana” and “Catholic Daughters” organizations for over 30 years. Her greatest regret was her inability to have children. Children were a delight to her and she was devoted to her nieces and nephews. Everyone knew her as “Madrina”. An excellent cook, Elisa loved to bake and was famous for her Christmas fruitcakes. She found beauty in rocks and had a large rock collection.
Those left to cherish Elisa’s love and memory are her brothers: Sabino Aguirre of Monahans, Manuel Aguirre of Houston, and Oscar Aguirre, Sr. of Odessa; extended family and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
Her parents: Sabino and Tomasa Aguirre; husband: Reynaldo Y. Tercero; brother: Enrique Aguirre; and three sisters: Elvira Martinez, Maria Baeza, and Elena Tarango, preceded her in death.
Rosary will be said in Odessa at 7:00 pm Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Rosary will be recited in Marfa at 9:30 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marfa on Monday, April 21, 2014 with the Mass of Christian Burial immediately following at 10:00 am, officiated by Fr. Mark Salas. She will be laid to rest beside Reynaldo at Merced Cemetery in Marfa. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel of Odessa.

Beverly Diane Barina, age 41, of Odessa, passed away on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at her home. She was born in Clute, TX on January 27, 1973 to the late Harvey Goldman and Ruth (Blackstock) Freeman. She was a press operator’s apprentice.
Beverly was a great wife, mother, grandmother and friend. An all around wonderful person, she was loving and had a heart of gold. She enjoyed sitting down with a cup of coffee to laugh and visit. She also loved to watch movies.
Beverly is survived by her husband: Dwain Lee Barina of Odessa; three daughters: Ashley King, Allison Barina and Krystal Little, all of Odessa; step father who raised her: Eddie Freeman of Angleton; two brothers: Bruce York and Ricky Yorkshire, both of Angleton; sister: Shirley Watts of Angleton; six grandchildren: Nathan, Rey, Chance, Dawson, Tyler, and Austin; her caregiver and family friend: Aubrey Barina; god son: Caleb Joseph Barina of Odessa; and best friend: Jennifer Goodman Stewart.Graveside services will be 9:00 am Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at Peaceful Garden of Ector County Cemetery, officiated by Chaplain Mike Bartlett. Jose Dolores Dominguez-Adame, age 50, of Odessa, passed from this life on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Midland Memorial Hospital. He was born in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico on December 11, 1963 to the late Efren and Olivia (Adame) Dominguez. He was an oilfield laborer.
He is survived by two daughters: Olivia and Anahi Dominguez, both of Hobbs; brother: Julio Dominguez of Ojinaga; three sisters: Teresa Mondragon of Barstow, Rosalia Dominguez of Ojinaga, and Socorro Dominguez of Ft. Stockton.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Jesus Efren Dominguez and Daniel Dominguez.

David Loyal Chambers, 51, of Alvarado Texas, was called to Heaven on April 16, 2014 in Alvarado. David was born to Carl Arnold Chambers and Lou Ann Kennedy on February 15, 1962 in Odessa. David retired as a carpenter.
David loved to woodwork and play golf. He made ornamental work. David was an average guy and a day by day person. He loved old rock-n- roll music, and also enjoyed listening to Black Sabbath and Bob Seger. David enjoyed dancing, but not doing Karaoke with Guy. He was a very outspoken, and always spoke his mind.
Those left to cherish his memories are his father: Arnold Chambers and wife Darlene of Odessa, brothers: Guy Chambers and wife Velocia of Odessa, John Beckwith of Odessa, sister: Terry Allemon Chambers of Crane.

Denise Ann Waddell, age 46, of Odessa, passed from this life on Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at Sienna Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Odessa. She was born in Pecos, TX on March 8, 1968 to Kenneth Allen Stoican and the late Shirley Ann (Jarrett) Stoican. She was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith.
When Denise loved it was with her whole heart, and she loved her friends and family. Being surrounded by friends and family was her heart’s desire. Denise was a soap opera fanatic. She also enjoyed craft work with picture albums, shopping, drinking Dr. Pepper and spending time on her computer – facebooking, playing games, or just checking things out.
She is survived by her husband: James Waddell of Altus, OK; father: Kenneth Stoican of Ryegate, MT; grandmother: Juanita Jarrett of Llano; longtime companion: Robert “Bob” Banks of Odessa; three sons: Jay James “J. J.” Christesson and Jesse Christesson, both of Odessa, and Peter Christesson of Indiana; daughter: Amanda Fay Banks of Odessa; and sister: Cheryl Deann Stoican of Bowie, TX.
Her mother and brother, Allen Kenneth Stoican, precede her in death.

Sandra Sue “Sandy” Ming, age 72, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2014 in Odessa. She was born in Carlsbad, NM on Wednesday, February 25, 1942 to Marvin and Mable (Mayrhofen) Medlock. She was retired from waitressing at the time of her passing.
Sandy was a huge NASCAR fan, especially of Dale Earnhardt Jr. She loved the outdoors, and she enjoyed going hunting and fishing. She was a huge grouch, according to Dale Baker, aka “Asshole”. A former waitress of Pojo’s, it was a huge part of her life, she loved them all. She loved the fried chicken from the buffet at Pojo’s. If you weren’t doing your job right, you could bet she was the one who would line you out. She was the best waitress around and she could show the youngsters how to do it right. She was the one who would tell everyone not to put their silverware in the tray. Sandy liked old cars. She was also a Willie Nelson fanatic and a collector of Coca-Cola. She was a very good Granny-mom. She loved her grandchildren dearly and they adored her in return. While Sandy would talk to everyone about their problems, and she was cool to everybody, she didn’t like it when people called her pet names. She wanted you to use her name!

Tina Kay Simons, age 51 of Odessa, passed away on Sunday, April 20, 2014 at Medical Center Hospital of Odessa. Tina was born in Odessa on March 3, 1963 to Barbara (Davidson) Epperson and the late James Simons. She worked as a veterinary tech at University Small Animal Clinic until illness prevented it in 2003.
A “pretty, nice lady”, Tina was a kind hearted person who loved animals and was dedicated to her work. She was an outdoorsy person who enjoyed spending time at the lake, boating and fishing. She lived a simple life with simple pleasures. Her favorite pet was her horse, Jack. Tina also enjoyed Southwestern décor and collected Native American statues and art.
Those left to cherish her memory are her mother: Barbara Epperson of Odessa; step father: Mickey Epperson, Sr. and wife Pam of Odessa; two daughters: Nicki Parrish and husband Donnie and Brandi Simons, all of Odessa; brothers: Randy Simons and wife Tammie, Roy Simons and wife Tifni, and Mickey Epperson, Jr., all of Odessa; sister and best friend: Debbie Taylor of Odessa; and four grandchildren: Sean Dechant, Jr., Madison Parrish, Brittany Parrish, and Rylee Parrish.
