Jose Mendoza Lozoya, age 88, died on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, TX. He was born on May 1, 1926 in Chihuahua, MX to the late Ignacio and Catalina (Mendoza) Lozoya.
A hard worker, Jose had to start work at an early age. He loved riding in the rodeo and was very good at breaking horses. As a youngster, he enjoyed playing baseball. Always a very happy man, he enjoyed listening to music and telling stories about himself to his grandchildren. The grandkids would listen to each story over and over with as much excitement and enthusiasm as if they had never heard his stories. He worked as landscaper at Odessa Country Club until his retirement and always loved working in his family’s yards.
He is survived by one son: Enrique Lozoya and wife, Olivia of Odessa and three daughters: Anna Rascon and husband David of Snyder, TX, Sylvia Flores and husband Alfredo of Chihuahua, MX and Rosario Lozoya also of Chihuahua, MX; 10 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
A rosary will be said at 7:00 pm on Tuesday,
April 21, 2015 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian
burial is scheduled for 10:00 am on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at
Holy Redeemer Catholic Church with Father Michael Rodriguez

Early Sunday morning on April 19, 2015, our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went home to our Lord. Mariana Castro Langford was 80 years old.
Mariana was born in Sanderson, TX on December 7, 1934 to Salvador and Senaida (Rios) Castro. She was one of six children. Mariana married Roger Langford in Acuña, Mexico on August 28, 1962.
Mariana is preceded in death by her father and mother, her brothers: Mariano Castro and Miguel Barron, and her sister: Irene Rubio.
Mariana is survived by her loving husband of 53 years: Roger Langford of Odessa; a daughter: Cynthia Langford of Wichita, KS; her sons: David Langford of Odessa, TX and Juan Vargas and wife Jan of Round Rock, TX; step-son: James Langford of Odessa; grandchildren: Matthew Langford, Roger Ruvalcaba, Victoria Ruvalcaba, Jason Vargas, and Casey Vargas; great-granddaughters: Claudia, Lisi, and Paulina; sister and brother: Merced Lopez and Salvador Castro, both of Ft. Stockton; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Rosary will be recited at Acres West Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at 7:00 pm. Funeral Services will also be at Acres West at 10:00 am on Thursday, April 23, 2015 followed by committal services at Rankin Cemetery in Rankin, TX. Natividad Chacon Magallanez, age 83, of Odessa, passed away at her home on Sunday, April 19, 2015. She was born in Marfa, TX on December 24, 1931 to the late David and Manuela (Ramirez) Chacon. She cooked at the Thunderbird Restaurant in Odessa for many years. Natividad married Andres A. Magallanez in Marfa in 1952. She was Catholic.
Natividad loved to play bingo and do scratch off tickets. She enjoyed joking around and visiting with her family. She also enjoyed cooking for them. A strong woman, she was an awesome provider. Molly and Polly were her beloved baby dolls.
She was preceded in death by her parents, by her husband Andres on June 9, 2014; three grandsons: Javier Chacon, Jr, Benjamin Magallanez, and Jose Antonio Diaz; great-granddaughter: Jaylah Marie Rodriguez; brothers: Joe Walker and wife Rita and Ruben Chacon and wife Maria; and her sister: Aurora Dominguez and husband Vivian.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons: Juan Magallanez and his wife Hilda, Bernardo Magallanez, and Andres “Andy” Magallanez and wife Beatrice, all of Odessa, and Leonardo Magallanez of Austin; daughters: Maria Delfa Rodriguez and Annabel Chacon and husband Javier, all of Odessa; brother: Raymond Chacon and wife Mary Ann of Odessa; sisters: Anita Lujan and husband Ernest and Amparo Gutierrez, all of Odessa and Leonor Chavez and husband Juan of Alpine; twenty-two grandchildren; fifty-eight great-grandchildren; and twenty great-great grandchildren.

Maria Hendricks, age 90, of Odessa passed away at Odessa Regional Medical Center on Monday, April 20, 2015. She was born March 21, 1925 in Okemah, OK to the late Agustus Evans and Stella (Chaffin) Hail. She was a retired beautician.
Maria worked hard for her kids. She was a carhop for years while raising her boys and became a hairdresser in later years. She was very interested in politics and kept up to date on world events. Into her late 60’s, she enjoyed target shooting. Her kids and grandkids were her world and she loved them wholeheartedly.
She is survived by three sons: James Anthony Hendricks, Bob Meadows, and Timothy Eugene Meadows, all of Odessa; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Manuel Hernandez Carnero, age 67, of Ojinaga, Mexico died Monday, April 20, 2015 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. He was a rancher.
Funeral services will be at a later date in El Mulato, MX with interment to follow at Vallenuevo Cementerio in El Mulato, Chihuahua, Mexico. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel in Odessa.
|Michael Homer Wilson|
Michael Homer Wilson, age 58, of Odessa, passed away on Friday, April 17, 2015 in Odessa. He was born in Kansas City, MO on Friday, October 12, 1956 to the late Homer Newton and Frankie Jane (Carpenter) Wilson. Michael was employed in the oilfield as a machinist.
Michael, who was also affectionately known as “Papa Hog”, had a big heart. He was known for helping anybody in need, and giving his shirt off his back without hesitation. Michael enjoyed being outside, having his knees in the breeze and a Bud in his hand. Papa Hog will be greatly missed and loved by all.
Those left to cherish his love and memory are one son: Alex Wilson; and three daughters: Lisa, Laya, and Eylesha Wilson.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother: Larry Wilson.

Charley Lawrence “Chuck” Smith-Bennett, Jr. age 65, of Big Spring, TX passed away in Odessa, TX at Odessa Regional Medical Center on Thursday, April 23, 2015. He was born in Wenatchee, WA on December 21, 1949 to Lillian Mae (Brooks) Smith and the late Charles L. Smith, Sr. Chuck worked in construction doing tile work and carpentry.
He is survived by his son: Jimmy Bennett of Port Orchard, WA; two daughters: Kim Nielsen of Tenmile, OR and Shawna Bennett of Shallowater, TX; brothers: Donald Bennett of Odessa, TX and Arthor Bennett of Midland, TX; eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother: Gene Bennett; and two sisters: Rita Reed and Judy Hayward.
Memorial services will be at Grace Fellowship Church of God, 603 Tulane, Big Spring, TX on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at 11:00 am, officiated by Pastor Eddie Prince. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel of Odessa.

Joshua Roy Marquez, age 34, of Odessa, passed away in Odessa on Friday, April 24, 2015 at Medical Center Hospital. He was born in Roswell, NM on January 20, 1981 to Yvonne (Mendoza) Marquez and the late Hector Roy Marquez. He was employed by Downing Wellhead. He was Catholic and a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
He is survived by his mother: Yvonne Marquez of Odessa; maternal grandparents: Olivia Mendoza and Manuel Mendoza and paternal grandmother: Estella Marquez, all of Roswell, NM; one son: Joshua Roy Marquez, Jr and one daughter: Alissa Rene Marquez, both of Lubbock, TX; sister: Portia Marquez of Odessa; god-parents: Jesus and Emma Medrano of Odessa; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather: Richard Marquez, father: Hector Roy Marquez and one brother: Robert Ray Lara.

Timothy Nolan Lintner, age 27, of Odessa, passed from this life at his home in Odessa on Friday, April 24, 2015. Timothy was born in Odessa on October 9, 1987 to Jane Marie (Doty) Lintner. He was a machinist and a fabricator. He was a member of Calvary United Pentecostal Church in Crane.
Timothy was a real character who loved life. He was really “something else”. To know him was to love him and often to be entertained by him. He was a prankster, who loved to laugh and joke around. He was very active and enjoyed golfing and fishing. Timothy was a thrill seeker. Shooting and fast cars were favorite sources of an adrenaline rush. He loved his “Dodge’s” and was known to e-brake into his driveway. Timothy was strong, smart, and determined. His will to carry on and his intelligent choices produced a happy confidence and pride in his accomplishments. Most of all, Timothy loved God, his family and his friends.
He is survived by his mom: Jane Lintner and dad: Robert Joseph Turner, both of Odessa; his maternal grandmother: Kay Eenhuistra of Winamac, IN; four brothers: Charles Lintner, Nicholas Lintner and wife Shawna, Chris Emery and Jeremy Ross, all of Odessa; niece Shianna; nephews: Brian, Taylor and Bryson, and an entire community of friends.

Jimmy Earl “Skip” Skipworth, Sr. age 79, of Gardendale, passed away at his home on Saturday, April 25, 2015. He was born in Vernon, TX on November 21, 1935 to the late Cecil and Nellie Grace (Adkission) Skipworth.
Skip retired after more than 30 years with Austin Distributing. He was a past deacon at the Baptist Church in Portales, NM.
He is survived by his son: Jimmy Skipworth Jr. “J.R.” and wife Savanah of Gardendale; two daughters: Jan Cunningham of LaPorte, TX and Cristy Mendendorf of McKinney, TX; brother: Steve Skipworth of Gainesville, TX; sisters: Sue Mitchell of Vernon, TX and Sandy Foley of Prosper, TX; and numerous grandchildren.
His parents and his daughter: Pamela Cates, preceded him in death.
