Carl Edward Nunn

Carl Edward Nunn, age 76, of Odessa, passed away on Monday, July 27, 2015 at his residence in Odessa. Before his retirement, he was an electrician. Carl was born on Tuesday, July 18, 1939 in Wetumka, OK. Carl was a U. S. Navy veteran.

Survivors include his son: Michael Nunn of Hobbs, NM; daughter: Sondra Hutson and husband Dale of Hobbs, NM; sisters: Karilyn Bebout of Purcell, OK, and Needra Gordon of Tulsa, OK; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, July 31, 2015 at Rosehill in Ector County Cemetery in Odessa. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel, 8115 W. University Blvd. Odessa, TX 79764.

Brissa Savannah Lopez

Brissa Savannah Lopez, age 20, of Odessa, passed from this life at University Medical Center of Lubbock on Wednesday, July 29, 2015. She was born in Plainview, TX on March 15, 1995 to Rosa Beatrice Lopez.

Brissa was an outgoing person. She was always trying to make everyone laugh. She would even talk the ear off of strangers. She loved playing the Spanish lottery and enjoyed various types of music. She loved her friends and family. She enjoyed family time playing with her sisters and brothers. Her children were her world and she loved being a mother.

Those left to cherish her love and memory are her mother: Rosa Beatrice Burciaga of Odessa; son: Isaiah James Mata of Odessa; daughter: Aaliyah Nyah Mata of Odessa; brothers: Michael Alfredo Urias and Javier Pineda Jr of Odessa; sisters: Criselda Celeste Lopez, Jacquelynn Amari Pineda and Jillian Amarissa Pineda all of Odessa.

Viewing will be Sunday and Monday at Acres West 24 Hour Chapel.  Funeral services will be 3:00 pm, Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Acres West 24 hour Chapel of Odessa, officiated by Demetrio Pineda. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Octaviano Bernal Rangel

Octaviano Bernal Rangel, 44, of Odessa was called to Heaven on Friday, July 31, 2015 in Odessa. Octaviano was born to the late Ramon Rangel and Raquel Bernal on March 22, 1971 in Allende, Coahuila, Mexico. He was Catholic.

Octaviano loved his family especially his little boy. He was a big Dallas Cowboy Fan. Octaviano’s favorite music group was “Conjunto Primavera”. His favorite food was homemade tortillas and beans and homemade meat with green sauce. 

Those left to cherish his wonderful memories are his mother: Raquel Rangel of Odessa; his son: Octavio Rangel Acosta of Odessa; brothers: Jose Bernal of FL, Gerardo Rangel of Dallas and Ramiro Rangel of Odessa; sisters: Griselda Rangel of Odessa, Blanca Edith Rangel of Odessa and Margarita Rangel of Allende, Coahuila, MX.

Rosary will be held Sunday and Monday, August 2nd and 3rd, 2015 at 7:00 pm at Acres West Funeral Chapel of Odessa. Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at 10:00 am at St Joseph Catholic Church of Odessa, officiated by Father Frank Chavez. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens of Ector County Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Joanne Julie Gill

Joanne Julie Gill, age 72, of Terlingua, TX, passed away at Medical Center Hospital of Odessa, TX on Friday, July 31, 2015.  She was born in Detroit, MI on February 27, 1943 to Floyd and Leona Dallaire.  Joanne married Archie Gill in Michigan on September 9, 1967.  She was a loving mother, wife, and homemaker.

Survivors are her husband:  Archie Gill of Terlingua; two daughters:  Amanda Willard of Terlingua and Diana Romine of Imlay City, Michigan; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

To honor Joanne’s request, no services will be held.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel of Odessa.

Ruben Mora
Ruben Mora

Ruben Mora, age 38 of Midland, passed away tragically in a traffic accident on Saturday, August 1st in Midland. He was born Friday, February 18, 1977 in Ojinaga, Mexico to Joel Leyva Sanchez and Minerva Monje.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife, Diana Mora of Odessa, his parents Minerva Monje and Joel Leyva of Midland. Three daughters: Kassandra, Victoria and Estrella Mora all of Midland; four brothers: Sergio Arturo Lara Mora of Mexico, Joel Leyva Mora, Mark Fernando Leyva Mora and Hugo Leyva Mora all of Midland and one sister: Elizabeth Leyva Mora also of Midland. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Viewing is scheduled to begin Tuesday at Acres West 24 Hour Funeral Chapel with services Tuesday and Wednesday night at 7:00 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, August 6, 2015 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Interment will be at a later date in Mexico. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel of Odessa.

Connie Jorena Dominey

Connie Jorena Dominey, age 60, of Odessa, passed away at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa on Saturday, August 1, 2015.  She was born in Odessa on January 24, 1955 to Cornelia Francis “Connie” (Gulley) Dominey and the late Robert Alvin Dominey.  She was a jack of all trades and a homemaker.

Connie may have been stubborn, hard headed and a pain in the ass but she was loved by many. She was a single mother that held down two jobs while going to school and raising her children. She was also a neighborhood mom. All the kids loved her. At one time, she had a curse jar and boy did she make a lot of money. In her down time, she enjoyed doing Sudoku Puzzles and Word Searches.

Survivors include her mother:  Connie Dominey of Odessa; son:  Jacob “Jake” Perry of Odessa; daughter:  Lacey Franks of Snyder; three brothers:  Robert, Tommy, and Michael “Mike” Dominey, all of Odessa; and eight grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 4:00 pm, Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at Acres West  Chapel, officiated by Brother Dewey Blevins. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Baby Adilenne Perez
Adilenne Idalie Perez

Adilenne Idalie Perez, an angel on earth for 1 ½ years, returned to Jesus’ arms on Monday, August 3, 2015 in Odessa.  She was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2014 to Yajaira Sarahy (Moreno) Perez and Antonio Perez. 

Those left to cherish her beloved memory are her parents:  Yajaira and Antonio Perez of Odessa.  She is also survived by her grandparents, all of San Julian, Jalisco, Mexico: maternal grandparents:  Irma Moreno De la Paz and Humberto Moreno Gutierrez and paternal grandparents:  Estela Soto Munoz and Heliodoro Perez Vazques.

Funeral services will be at a later date in Mexico with interment to follow at Cementerio de San Julian, Jalisco, Mexico.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel of Odessa.

Dale Wayne Lynch, Sr

Dale Wayne Lynch, Sr., age 56, of Odessa, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at his residence in Odessa. He was born in Mt. Carmel, IL on Thursday, January 1, 1959 to the late Bernie Leroy and Clara Evelyn (Harms) Lynch. Dale met the love of his life, Linda Gillihan, and married her on May 5, 1974 in Odessa.

Dale enjoyed being outside; he had a flourishing green thumb and he loved to work on cars. He was a very strong headed man. When Dale wanted to do something, he would always figure out a way to accomplish it. Up until his illness, Dale was very muscular. He took pride in himself. Dale loved music, and he really liked to listen to karaoke. Dale was a huge family man, spending his free time with his family and friends. He made sure his family knew he loved them very much. His grandkids loved and respected him. Dale will be loved and missed dearly.

Those left to cherish his love and memory are his wife: Linda (Gillihan) Lynch of Odessa; son: Dale Wayne Lynch, Jr. of Odessa; daughters: Tosha Lynch, Pamela Handlon and husband Robert, and Clara Evelyn Lynch, all of Odessa; brothers: Johnny Lynch of Odessa, and Richard Lynch of Denton; sisters: Linda Sue Fulkerson of Houston, Doris Festerman of San Antonio, and Laura Kirby of Houston; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services will be 2 pm, Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Brother Dewey Blevins. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Margarito Ortega
Margarito Ontiveros Ortega

Margarito Ontiveros Ortega, age 78, of Odessa, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2015 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. He was born in Mexico on Tuesday, August 11, 1936 to the late Juan and Trinidad (Ontiveros) Ortega.

Those left to cherish his love and memory are his wife: Brijida (Vega) Ortega of Odessa; sons: Juan Ortega of Mexico, Margarito Ortego, Jr. and wife Maribel of Odessa, and Jesus M. Ortega and wife Ivone of Mexico; daughters: Amada Soto of Odessa, Trini Sotelo and husband Servando of Odessa, Hortencia Blair of Menard, TX, Teresa Hernandez and husband Esmundo of Odessa; Carmen Hernandez and husband Alonso of Odessa, Juani Hernandez and husband Dulces of Odessa; sisters: Manuela Ortega, Cecilia Ortega, and Pilar Ortega, all of Chihuahua, MX; twenty- four grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Margarito was preceded in death by his brother: Anastacio Ortega; sister: Susana Ortega; and son-in-law Brooks Blair.

Rosary will be recited on Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 7 pm at Acres West Funeral Chapel.  Funeral Mass will be held Friday, August 7, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church officiated by Fr. Fernando Bonilla. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens in Ector County Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Rudy Orona
Rudy Orona

Rudy Orona, age 14, of Odessa, passed away at University Medical Center in Lubbock on Thursday, August 6, 2015.  He was born in Pecos, TX on Thursday, September 7, 2000. 

Rudy was one of God’s nine special children being cared for at Vicky’s.  He was a family member there for the past 13 years and was well loved by all the nurses and staff.  He was especially loved and cared for by his mom:  Vicky Thorp.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Pastor Mike Bartlett.  Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Section of Ector County Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.
