Cruz Quiroz McClure, age 83, of Odessa, passed away in Odessa on Sunday, October 25, 2015. She was born in Presidio on September 21, 1932 to the late Valente and Santiaga (Sanchez) Quiroz. She was a homemaker.
Cruz was a feisty old lady who lived life to the fullest. Cruz enjoyed playing Bingo and was a big time Facebooker. She played games with her grandsons and cheated, repeatedly competitively to win. Cruz loved the outdoors and would go mudding on a golf cart if she had the chance.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons: Brooks McClure of Odessa and Charles McClure of Lubbock; daughters: Norma McClure, Diana McClure and Donna Gomez, all of Odessa and Barbara Lightfoot and Tammy Gonzales, both of Iraan; twenty-three grandchildren and thirty-nine great-grandchildren and counting.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband: Charles McClure, and one daughter: Teresa McClure.

Francis Christine (Horton) Grimes, age 63, of Odessa, passed from
this life at Medical Center Hospital on Monday, October 26, 2015.
She was born in Colombia, Missouri on July 14, 1952 to Bufferd
Horton and Ruby Tomlinson. Frances married Tommy Grimes in Midland,
Texas on January 2, 1971. They raised three children and enjoyed 44
Francis was one of a kind. She was a wonderful mom, grandmother and wife. Francis was one of the best people you would ever meet. She would do anything for anyone, especially her children and grandchildren Francis was very set in her ways though. She liked her beer, cigarettes and TV shows.
Those left to cherish her love and memory are her husband: Tommy Grimes of Odessa; two sons: Robert Grimes and wife Wendy and Jordan Grimes, both of Odessa; daughter: Kristi Grimes of Cross Plains; brother: Bufferd “BB” Horton Jr. of Dallas; sisters: Betty Horton and Carol Mangus, both of Odessa, and Joyce Williams and Mary Denaro, both of Louisiana, fourteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Patrick Ira Harper, age 56, of Odessa, passed from this life at Medical Center Hospital on Tuesday, October 27, 2015. He was born in Hamlin, Texas on Friday, December 12, 1958. Patrick married Barbara Ann Sumrall on Thursday, April 29, 1982 in Anson, Texas.
Those left to cherish his memories are his mother: Beth Harper of Hamlin, Texas; four sons: Monty Harper and wife Crystal, Eric Lee Harper and wife Tara, Matthew Sanchez, and Patrick Ira Harper Jr., all of Odessa; one brother: Michael Harper and wife Tina of Hamlin; and one sister: Ivie Wade and husband Dickie of Hamlin; eleven grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

|Thelma (Ledbetter) Smith|
Thelma (Ledbetter) Smith, age 84, of Odessa, passed from this life on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Continue Care Hospital in Midland, TX. She was born in Causey, NM on August 11, 1931 to the late Charles Henry and Norene (Barger) Ledbetter. Thelma married Charles D. “C. D.” Smith in Dora, NM on September 3, 1949. She owned and operated Chaparral Camera Center in Carlsbad, NM. Thelma was a Christian and was a member of the Church of Christ.
Thelma met C.D. in the middle of a volleyball game where he said his first words to her, “Aren’t you just about the best on your team?!” After that, they teamed up together for the next 65 years. Thelma was witty and sharp. Back when C.D. worked for Continental Oil Company and they were heading to a big party, she and her friends planned an elaborate outfit. Her boss had won a mink stole and agreed to let her borrow it. Her neighbors all chipped in to help her create an entire ensemble to complement the stole. When C.D. ‘s bosses’ wife asked her how he could afford a mink stole on his salary, she quipped, “My husband loves me.” Thelma kept her mind and her memory until the very end. After having a stroke and being hospitalized and unable to talk for six weeks, it was Thelma who reminded C.D. that their Texas Safety Sticker was due for renewal.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son: Douglas G. Smith; daughter: Susan Elaine Howell; and two brothers: Truman and Tommy Ledbetter.
Those left to cherish her love and memory are her husband: C.D. Smith of Odessa; two sons: Roger Smith and wife Jana and Eugene Smith and wife Anita, all of Odessa; brother: Johnny Ledbetter of Portales, NM; two sisters: Nell Richards of Carlsbad, NM and Bonnie Hardin of Combine, TX; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Graveside services are scheduled for Saturday, October 31, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Sunset Memorial Cemetery, officiated by Justin Scott. Funeral services are under the direction of Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Jerry Lynn Horton, age 54, of Odessa, passed away on Sunday, November 1, 2015 in Odessa. He was born in Odessa on May 7, 1961. Jerry worked in the oilfield and, after he was disabled, he worked at Golden Corral.
Those left to cherish his love and memory are his daughter: Rochell Horton Richardsonand her mother: Mary Blaylock, both of Odessa; brother: Johnny Horton of Austin; sister: Linda Dilbeck of Huntsville; six grandchildren; two nieces and one nephew; and a host of other family and friends.

Ezequiel Saenz Olave, age 48, of Pecos, TX, passed away at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa on Sunday, November 1, 2015. He was born in Namiquipa, Chihuahua, Mexico on June 17, 1967 to Manuel Olave Hernandez and Atocha Saenz Rodriguez de Olave. He worked as a diesel mechanic.
Ezequiel was one of five brothers. He was a Dallas Cowboys fanatic who also enjoyed fishing and loved to drive trucks. He was a Mexican food fan. Ezequiel did a little bit of everything from mechanic work to carpentry. He was a family man whose children were everything to him and whose nieces and nephews adored him.
He is survived by his son: Ezequiel Olave of Kansas; daughter: Tiffany Olave of Kansas; two brothers: Alonso Olave of El Paso, TX and Jesus Manuel Olave of Wichita, KS; three sisters: Olga Olave of Amarillo, Maria Rita Olave of Wichita, KS, and Maria Lopez of Oklahoma City, OK; and six grandchildren.

JC Caston, age 78, of Odessa, passed from this life at his residence on November 2, 2015. He was born in Robert Lee, Texas on April 16, 1937 to Bessie Johnson and Joseph Clements Caston. JC married Beatrice Delores Gregory on December 23, 1959 in Maryville, TN.
JC was a veteran who served in the U.S. Army for 13 years and was also a member of the Robert Lee Masonic Lodge #696. He worked in oilfield sales. He was a longtime member and spiritual leader of Unity Church of West Texas.
Those left to cherish his love and memory are his three sons: Justin Duran Caston, Kregg Caston, and Jay Derek Caston and wife Celya; one sister: Evelyn Copple and husband Boyd; nine grandchildren: Amanda Torbert, Ashley Griffin, Steven Mers, Matt Caston, Cassie Caston Berry, Nicole Caston, Valerie Caston, Kirstin Caston, and Kaleb Caston; thirteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
JC was preceded in death by his wife: Beatrice Delores Gregory Caston, his parents: Bessie Johnson and Joseph Clements Caston, and six siblings: Mary Jo Harmon, Henry Caston, Betty Lou Harp, Clem Caston, Lowell Caston and Carlton Caston.

William Robert “Billy” Felts, age 52, of Odessa, passed from this life at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa on November 2, 2015. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on August 16, 1963 to Jack Felts and the late Linda Stracener.
Billy lived in Odessa most of his life and was known by many people. He had one of the best personalities. He could make you smile in any situation. Billy was as big as life in size and attitude. He will be loved and missed endlessly. “See you on the other side, BoogALoo.

Marie Nichole Avila, age 43, of Odessa, passed from this life at Medical Center Hospital on November 3, 2015. She was born in Odessa, TX on May 31, 1972 to Andres Avila and the late Nieves Villalobos.
Nichole was a good hearted woman. She never said no to anyone or anything. Nichole always saw the good in people and was there to listen to their problems. She loved God and was always sending up prayers. Nichole was also a fighter. She loved watching movies and eating shrimp at Red Lobster.
