Pamela Jean (Clemons) Tarin, age 56, of Odessa, passed from this life at her residence on Wednesday, November 4, 2015. She was born in Borger, Tx on July 29, 1959 to the late James Clemons and Jean Elnora Copenhaver.
Pamela was a bus driver for ECISD for 13 years. She was a member of Bible Free Will Baptist Church for many years, as well as a member of Segunda Iglesia Bautista of Odessa. Pamela was also in many bowling leagues at Sherwood Bowling Lanes.
Those left to cherish her love and memory are her fiancé: John Anthony of Odessa; sons: Daniel Tarin of Amarillo; Joshua Clemons and Johnny Tarin, both of Odessa; grandchildren: Autumn, Andrei, Ashton, Rosie, Nevaeh, Nayeli, Gizelle and Michael; and lifelong friend: Teri Baca Ramirez.
She was preceded in death by her parents: James Clemons and Jean Copenhaver; one grandchild: Makayla and mother-in-law: Alice Tarin.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Monday, November 9, 2015 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Pastor Calvin G. Knighten. Burial will follow at Peaceful Garden section of Ector County Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.
|Joe Bailey (Toby) Bates, Jr.|
Toby was born in Odessa, TX on January 27, 1935. He passed away in Rockwall, Texas on Thursday, November 5, 2015 after an extended illness.
Joe was given the nickname Toby when he was a young boy. Most people only know him as Toby.
As a young man, he worked with his father at Bates Construction Company, where he learned skills that served him well in many projects over the years. He graduated from Odessa High School in 1953 and joined the US Marine Corp in December of that year. He served in Korea.
In 1967, Toby became the owner of Odessa Bumper Exchange and Supply. After retiring from running this business, he and his brothers, Johnny and James, worked together at Reliable Air Conditioning.
On February 6, 2001, he married Myrna Ruth Choate. In 2009, together with their dogs “Spot” and “Sister”, they remodeled a house at Lake Thomas.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe Bailey Bates Sr. and Fannie Bell (Waddell) Bates, and his brothers: John Walter Bates and James Keith Bates.
He is survived by his wife: Myrna Bates; son: Joe Bailey Bates, III and wife Belinda of Oregon, James Walter Bates of Rockwall, and Jerry Dean Bates and wife Kim of Midland, TX; daughter: Catherine Rose Campbell and husband Jeff of Heath, TX; step-sons: Robert L. Mims of Cedar Park, TX and Randall W. Mims of Roswell, NM; step-daughter: Jeanette R. Lewis of Odessa, TX; and his beloved buddy, “Spot”; eleven grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Family visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Monday, November 9, 2015 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Funeral service with military honors will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at Westwood Baptist Church, officiated by Dr. Weeks Dubose. Interment will follow at the Odessa Garden of Ector County Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Sostenez Beltran “Chicharron” Calderon, age 47, of Odessa, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2015, at Medical Center Hospital. He was born in Odessa, Texas on October 25, 1968 to Maria (Beltran) Calderon and the late Juan Calderon. He worked in landscaping and was a Christian.
Those left to cherish his memory are his mother: Maria Calderon; six sons: Jerry, Omar, Fabian, Sostenez Jr., David, and Juan Calderon; daughter: Destiny Calderon; brother: Johnny Calderon; and sister: Jessi Ann Calderon; all of Odessa.
His father and one brother, Faustino Calderon, precede him in death.
Prayer services will be at 7:00 pm on Monday, November 9, 2015 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at 1:00 pm at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Pastor Pete Landa. Interment will be at Peaceful Gardens section of Ector County Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jerry, Omar, Fabian, Sostenez Jr., Johnny Calderon and Ismael Casarez. Delores Anita Alexander, age 63, of Odessa, passed away at Deerings Nursing Home in Odessa on Friday, November 6, 2015. She was born in Monahans, TX on October 14, 1952 to Charles Junior and Deola Anita (Crawford) Covington. She was a carpenter and painter in the remodeling business.

Helen L. (Anderson) Black, age 89, of Grandfalls, TX, passed from this life at Medical Center Hospital on Friday, November 6, 2015. She was born in Eola, TX on September 22, 1926 to the late William Ellis Anderson and Bessie Alice St. Clair.
Helen had an illustrious career working early on as sign painter. Then becoming a teacher, a TV repairman, and a test driver for BF Goodrich. Finally, she owned and operated her own oilfield water business. She was not one to be idle. She loved sunflowers, birds and gardening.
Those left to cherish her love and memory are her son: John Black of Grandfalls, TX; daughter: Janet Vadney and husband Victor of Abilene, TX; two grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents: William and Bessie Anderson; brothers: William Ellis Jr., Howard Neil and Vernon Davis Anderson and sister: Anita Love.
Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at West University Church of Christ, officiated by Brother Roy Jones. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Ross Edward Holman, age 80, of Midland, passed away at Midland Memorial Hospital on Friday, November 6, 2015. He was born in Levelland, TX on September 14, 1935 to the late Clarence E, and Carnice (Mayfield) Holman. Mr. Holman worked as a custodian for MISD.
Ross was a huge sports fan who loved football and baseball. His favorite team was the Kansas City Royals.
Those left to cherish his memory are his sons: Del Holman of Odessa and David Holman of Midland; daughter: Deborah Presley of Midland; eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Maria F. Ortega, age 59, of Odessa, died Sunday, November 8, 2015
at her residence. She was born in Jalisco, Mexico on March 6, 1956
to Antonio and Beatrice (Vazquez) Perez. She was a homemaker.
Maria was Catholic and a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic

Darrell DWayne Hogan, age 77, of Odessa, passed away at Medical Center Hospital on Monday, November 09, 2015. He was born in Salt Gap, TX on May 3, 1938 to the late Manuel and Annie Pearl (Hudson) Hogan. DWayne was a twin and one of eleven children. He was an air conditioning service and repairman. He was Baptist.
Those left to cherish his love and memory are his sons: Darrell Hogan II and wife Laura and Deason Hogan and wife Alex, all of Odessa; daughter: Lynnell Brooks and husband Russell of Springtown; two brothers: Wayne Hogan (his twin) of Lake City, FL and Charles Hogan of South Carolina; three sisters: Opal Topper of Odessa, Judy Cooper of Lubbock, and Francis Tice of Odessa; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-grandbaby on the way.
He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers: Art, E.J., Floyd, and Roy; and one sister: Faye Allison.
Graveside services will be at 10:00 am Friday, November 13, 2015 at Rose Hill Gardens Section of Ector County Cemetery, officiated by Rev. Jimmy Braswell. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Ruth Baca Gonzalez, age 24, of Odessa, passed from this life at her residence on Thursday, November 5, 2015. She was born in Denver, Colorado on February 23, 1991 to the late Raul Gonzalez and Rita Carbajal.
Those left to cherish her love and memory are her mother: Rita Carbajal of Odessa; son: Xavier Fierro of Odessa; brothers: Samuel Gonzalez and Jose Gonzalez, both of Odessa; sister: Genesis Carbajal of Odessa.
She was preceded in death by her father: Raul Gonzalez.

Noble Blount, age 88, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 11, 2015. He was born on August 28, 1927 in Odessa to Noble Jackson Blount and Neoma Flora Blount (Peters) and was the oldest of 4 sons and 1 adopted son.
He served in the Army from 1948-1951 and loved planes and flying. After leaving the Army, he fell in love with Betty Ray Rider. They were married on April 7, 1951 in Carlsbad, NM.
He worked for Humble Oil Company in Goldsmith. He later worked for several companies and moved to El Paso, returning to Odessa in 1969. He had a love for Archery and competed in tournaments. He also worked for the E.C.I.S.D. and Kilgore Rat Hole Service. He fell in love with motorcycles and owned an Indian and BMW motorcycles.
He loved fishing and boating and enjoyed camping. He and Betty worked as gate keepers at Lake Summerville and Hordes Creek Lake where he made new friends every day. They moved to Lake Brownwood for a number of years to enjoy retirement, later coming back to Odessa to stay.
Over the last year, he enjoyed riding his “Jazzy” up and down the halls at Madison Medical Resort. He loved his children wife, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and had a soft spot in his heart for animals.
Noble was preceded in death by his father; mother; step-father Howard “Pete” Peters; brothers Wade, Gene, Tommy and Greg Blount; son Walter Wayne Blount; son-in-law Richard Kilgore and Stanley Williams; and grandson Daniel Williams.
Noble leaves behind his loving wife Betty of 64 years; daughters Sheila Kilgore Beckham and husband Junior, Annie Castle, Melva Williams Lane, Darla White and husband Dennis; and son Howard Blount and wife Pam. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
Noble was a member of Vine Baptist Church and Pastor Johnny Touchstone will be officiating at Noble’s funeral service to be held at 3:00 pm, Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Vine Baptist Church, with military honors. The family will accept visitors on Friday, November 13, 2015 from 6-8:00 pm at Acres West Funeral Chapel.
