Ray Sidney "Wolf" Rodgers, age 68, of Odessa, passed from this life at his residence on Sunday, December 13, 2015. He was born in Odessa, TX on August 30, 1947 to the late Charlie and Nellie Rodgers.
Ray met Brenda Snodgrass at Dart Drive-In in 1976. They married in Odessa on September 17, 1983. They raised one daughter and enjoyed 32 years together.
Ray was a veteran of the US Navy. He was also a lifetime member and past president of The Last Few, which he lived and breathed for 40 years. He was a leader, not a follower and he was very passionate in his beliefs. Ray loved his family very much and cared about all the kids in the neighborhood. His hobbies were his guns and he was an avid gun smith. Ray also loved to work on motorcycles and even built his own.
Those left to cherish his love and memory are his wife Brenda Rodgers of Odessa; daughter: Heather Greene and husband Galen of Odessa; sister: Sandy Ann Grissom of Weatherford, TX; four grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Charlie and Nellie South.

Maria (Martinez) Castillo, age 73, of Odessa, passed away at her Odessa residence on Sunday, December 13, 2015. She was born in Manuel Benavides, Mexico on September 7, 1942 to the late Manuel and Manuela (Armendariz) Martinez. She married Rogelio Castillo in Mexico on December 28, 1958 and they enjoyed 57 happy years together. Maria was a Christian.
Those left to cherish her love and memory are her husband: Rogelio Castillo of Odessa; three sons: Samuel Castillo, Jorge Luis Castillo, and Pedro Castillo, all of Odessa; four daughters: Esther Olivas of Ojinaga, MX, Elsa Burciaga and Eloyelia Montoya, both of Odessa, and Elodia Diaz of Denver City; brothers: Victor Martinez of Odessa and Juan Martinez both of Dallas; twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at Templo Romanos 8:1 on Thursday, December 17, 2015 officiated by Pastor David Campos at 1:00 pm. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Section of Ector County Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Catarina (Leyva) Lujan, age 81, of Odessa, passed from this life at Medical Center Hospital on Sunday, December 13, 2015. She was born in Alamos De San Antonio, Mexico on April 30, 1934 to the late Felix and Eufemia Leyva. She married Valente Lujan in Mexico in 1959 and they enjoyed 56 years together.
Catarina was a gentle spirit. She loved drinking her coffee and spending time with her great-grandchildren. Catarina was of Catholic faith and loved caring for everyone she knew. Her favorite color was light pink and she adored light pink roses.
Those left to cherish her love and memory are her husband: Valente Lujan of Odessa, TX; daughter: Noemi Terrazas of Odessa; two brothers: Martin Leyva and wife Francisca of Odessa, TX and Ruben Leyva and wife Baola of Fort Stockton, TX; four sisters: Librada Lujan and husband Crisoforo of Midland, Clara Hernandez and husband Espiridion of Odessa, Lourdes Marquez and husband Refugio of Lovington, NM and Mercedes Leyva of Mexico; grandchildren: Marco Terrazas and wife Senia, Karime Terrazas and Pamela Terrazas, all of Odessa; two great-grandchildren: Aiden Terrazas and Gerardo Hernandez Jr., both of Odessa and many nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be: Marco Terrazas, Omar Finn, Gerardo Hernandez, Enrique Lujan, Jaime Leyva and Marco Terrazas Jr.

Timoteo Jimenez Holguin, age 59, of Odessa, passed from this life at Medical Center Hospital on Monday, December 14, 2015. He was born in Taft, TX on August 22, 1956 to Manuel and Manuela (Jimenez) Holguin. Timoteo married Olivia Mendoza September 15, 1974 in Marfa, TX and they enjoyed 41 years together.
Those left to cherish his love and memory are his wife: Olivia Holguin of Odessa; father: Manuel Holguin of Presidio; two sons: Gabriel Holguin and Adam Mendoza, both of Odessa; six brothers: Luis Holguin of Odessa, Damaso Holguin of Pecos, Concepcion Holguin of Odessa, Juan Holguin of Tahlequah, OK, Mario Holguin of Presidio, and Felix Holguin of Houston; four sisters: Patricia Arenivas of Presidio, Monica Solis, Jessie Prieto and Guadalupe Holguin, all of Odessa; and three grandchildren: Christian, Yasmine and Naila.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Manuela Holguin.

Carolyn Jean (Wheeler) Thompson, age 64, of Odessa, TX, passed from this life at Medical Center Hospital on Monday, December 14, 2015. She was born in Odessa, Texas on May 20, 1957 to Orvel and Dorothy (Turner) Wheeler.
Carolyn enjoyed cookouts and hanging out with her family. She loved to gamble and slot machines were her favorite. Carolyn also enjoyed spending time with her friends in The Wild Bunch at The Eagles Lodge, which she was a part of for 25 years. She had a lot of great times and wonderful memories with the Wild Bunch.
Those left to cherish her love and memory are her son: Dink Thompson and wife DeeDee of Odessa, TX; two daughters: Kim Huffty of Odessa and Karla Thompson and husband Frazier of Courtenay Canada; one brother: Larry Don Wheeler Sr. of Odessa, TX; three sisters: Linda Gail Sanders, Margaret Ann Armstrong and Gayla Jean Wheeler, all of Odessa, TX; five grandchildren: Corey, Jimmy, Haley, Taylor and Randa; two great-grandchildren: Arwyn and Chloe and many extended family and friends all over.
She was preceded in death by her father Orvel R. Wheeler; husband: Dennis (Dink) Thompson Sr. and son-in-law Dennis Huffty.

Eddie Jesus Sotelo, age 19, of Odessa, TX, passed from this life unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 16, 2015. He was born in Odessa, TX to Jesus Edgar Sotelo and Myrna Cabello.
Eddie was a great son, brother and uncle, there was never a dull moment with him. He was very respectful, loving and gave the tightest hugs. Eddie loved techno, rap and bachate music. He played the keyboard and guitar. He enjoyed collecting coins and was a great artist. He loved his dog Spike very much. Eddie was also a hard worker and loved helping people, especially the ladies. He was a lady’s man. Eddie loved his family very much. He loved surprising his mother and enjoyed spending Christmas with his father and that side of the family. He was well known for always sleeping late. Eddie passed away doing what he loved doing, racing, despite efforts from his family.

Bartus “Bart” (Thomas) Spencer, 100, of Odessa passed from this life at Medical Center Hospital on Thursday, December 17, 2015. She was born in Egypt, Arkansas on Wednesday, February 10, 1915 to the late William and Agnes Thomas.
Bart married Ornal “Pug” Spencer in 1931 at Randolph County Arkansas and they moved to Texas August 1, 1945. They enjoyed 31 years together before his passing in 1962. Bartus then retired from State School in Lubbock in 1982.
Many wonder how the name Bart came about. Agnes was walking down the street and a piece of paper was floating in the air and landed in front of her. On that paper was the name Bart. She decided that would be the name of her first child. Bart was a jolly woman that enjoyed life and everyone loved her. She liked gardening, flowers, keeping a garden, garage sales, collecting books, and animals. Bart loved her family dearly and raised two of her granddaughter. She always called her granddaughter Sheila Mother hen and in return Sheila called her Granny Goose.
Those let to cherish her love and memory are her son: Jerry Lee Spencer of Pontotoc, Mississippi; daughter: Barbara Dillard and spouse Kenneth Monk of Odessa, TX; special friend: Arweeda Gillespie of Pontotoc, MS; eight grandchildren, 19 great- grandchildren, 33 great-great grandchildren and 2 great-great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents: William and Agnes Thomas and husband: Ornal “Pug” Spencer.
Pallbearers will be: Steve Garner, Kevin Williams, Jeffery Tutor, Mike Pickeral, Joseph Noah, and Dereck Kobernick.

Debra Diane Morris, age 61, of Odessa, died Thursday, December 17,
2015 at her residence. She was born February 27, 1954 in El Cajon,
California to the late Francis X. and Frances (Metz) Morris. She
was a homemaker.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons: Robert “Bobby” La Chance and Cory Morris, both of Odessa; two brothers: Robert Horton of California and Joe T. Horton of Pennsylvania; sisters: Yvonne McDuffee of Odessa and Cheri Horton of San Antonio; six grandchildren: Joey, Christian, Cecelia, Preston; Katarina, and Isabella “Bella”; two great-grandchildren: R.J. and Zyler; and great-niece and loving and caring caretaker: Ashton Edwards of Odessa.

Juan DeLaPaz, age 66, of Odessa, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 16, 2015. He was born in Sinton, TX on July 3, 1949 to the late Jose and Elvira (Guerra) DeLaPaz. He was a US Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Juan enjoyed fishing, drag racing and motorcycle riding. Softball and golf were his favorite sports to play and he was also an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. His best times were spent with family and friends. His favorite phrase was, “Oh, Hell!”
Those left to cherish his love and memory are fiancée: Lizette Moffett of Odessa; daughter: Melissa Marie DeLaPaz of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; his sons: Steven Wayne DeLaPaz of Arkansas, Juan Guerra “Johnny” DeLaPaz of Oklahoma, and Jesse DeLaPaz of Clovis, NM; brothers; Raul DeLaPaz, Gregory DeLaPaz and Frank DeLaPaz, all of Odessa, and Joseph DeLaPaz of Amarillo; grandchildren: Jordan, Silena, Rachael, and Mya; and one great-grandchild: Dawson. He had also gained two other daughters: Claudia Garcia of Odessa and Xylina Kerbow of Oklahoma, as well as a granddaughter: Phoebe.

Wanda Turner, age 56, of Odessa, passed away at Midland Memorial Hospital in Midland, TX on Sunday, December 20, 2015. She was born in Stamford, TX on August 7, 1959 to Johnny and Elizabeth (Muñoz) O’Con. She was a homemaker, beloved daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Wanda was a Christian. Although she hated snakes, she enjoyed going fishing and having a barbeque. She loved her pets and her friends.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband: Glen Turner; her father: Johnny O’Con; mother: Elizabeth Sipnefski; three sons: John Joseph Hernandez, Jessie Diaz, and Christopher O’Con; daughter: Nicole Henson; brother: Johnny Ray O’Con; sisters: Elisa O’Con and Donnie O’Con; six grandchildren and one great –grandchild, all of Odessa. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Wanda is preceded in death by one son: Jacob and her brother: Johnny O’Con, Jr.
