Terry E Perkins
Terry Eugene Perkins

Terry Eugene Perkins, age 65, of Odessa passed away at his home on Friday, January 29, 2016.  “Terry Baby,” as he was affectionately known to his family, was born in Vernon, TX on July 7, 1950 to the late Marion Franklin Perkins and Maudie Mae (Banks) Marshall.  He married Terry Gayle Morrison on July 7, 1968 and she preceded him in death February 29, 2008.  Terry married Susana Chavez in Odessa on July 12, 2010.  He was a truck driver for Key Energy and was a member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents and first wife, he is preceded in death by his siblings:  Tommie Watkins, Bobbie Mantooth, Troy Mantooth, Billy Mantooth, Lee Roy Perkins and Donnie Mantooth.

Those left to cherish his love and memory are his wife:  Susana Perkins of Odessa; sons:  Terry Eugene Perkins, Jr. and wife Tara of Hawkins, TX and Robert Keith Perkins and wife Shannon of Odessa; daughter:  Donna Marie Perkins of Dallas, TX; step daughter:  Amy Llanez of Odessa; brothers and sisters:  James Mantooth and wife Karen and Jimmy Mantooth, all of Whitehouse, TX, Fairy Mantooth of Odessa, Billie Patterson of Richland, TX, John Jerry Perkins and wife Rhonda of Odessa and Margaret Mantooth of Irving, TX; sisters-in-law:  Joyce Mantooth of Lubbock and Mary Mantooth of Tyler, TX and Donna Barbee of Odessa; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild. 

Viewing will be at Acres West Funeral Chapel on Monday, February 1, 2016.  Memorial services will be held at Chapel Hill Baptist Church on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at 10:00 am, officiated by Pastor Jeff Cleere.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel. 

Dale Schellhorn
Dale Floyd Schellhorn

Dale Floyd Schellhorn, age 83, of Odessa, passed from this life on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Deerings Nursing and Rehabilitation. Dale was born in Lawrence, KS on March 2, 1932 to the late Floyd Carl and Doris Oris (Klinow) Schellhorn.  He was a US Air Force Veteran.  Dale worked as a swamper in the oilfield for many years, then went on to a supervisor’s position with Refchem.  After retirement, he worked as a door greeter at the Westside WalMart.

Dale was a sweet and kind person who was a bit of a jokester.  He was a good step-father and brother.  He always talked about his service time in Alaska and shared his stories about the railroad.

Those left to cherish his love and memory are his wife:  Lorraine Moore of Odessa; daughters:  Denise Brinlee of Hawkins, TX and Cristi Hunter of Odessa; sisters:  Virginia Hammond of Scurry, TX and Phyllis Holley of Odessa; and two grandchildren:  Mitchell Healer and Brittany Brinlee.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded to his Heavenly home by his first wife:  Bobbie J. Schellhorn; brother:  Jerrald Schellhorn and two sisters:  Hazel Hughes and Luryle Schmuck.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Pastor Mike Bartlett.  Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Fred Manning
Fred Manning
Fred Manning, age 82, passed away on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at his Odessa home. He was born in Coryell County, TX on October 21, 1933 to the late William Cole and Lela Mae (Donaldson) Manning.

Fred was a man raised in the old ways of the west - he loved dogs and horses and history and little kids. He was a gentle, stoic man who preferred watching a deer to hunting it. He cherished his wife and thought Hank Williams, Sr. was the greatest American poet. He was and is a much-loved father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He leaves behind a devoted daughter, Kellye Manning of Odessa; a brother: Jack Manning of Gatesville; sister: Nita Brown of Honey Grove; five grandchildren: Leslie Bond-Strychar, Holly Cluck, Emily Pierce, Rachel Manning, and Cole Manning; and six great-grandchildren.

Fred was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Faye Ann Sizemore; and two sons, Fred Ray Manning, Jr. and Jeffrey Scott Manning.

Graveside memorial services will be at the Old Andrews Cemetery in Andrews, TX on Friday, February 5, 2016 at 11:00 am, officiated by Rev. Jimmy Braswell. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Angela Arroyo
Angela Arroyo

Angela Arroyo, age 89, of Odessa, TX, passed from this life at Medical Center Hospital Hospital on Monday, February 1, 2016. She was born in Coyame, Mexico on July 26, 2016 to the late Cesario and Jovita (Leyva) Jasso.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her husband: Eduardo Arroyo Ramirez of Coyame, MX; three sons: Rogelio Arroyo, Mario Alberto Arroyo and Miguel Angel Arroyo, all of Odessa, TX; three daughters: Luzmila Arroyo of Coyame, MX, Maria Albecia Arroyo and Maria del Pilar Arroyo, both of Odessa, TX; 20 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and 4 great- great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Cesario and Jovita Jasso.

Services will be held at a later date in Coyame, Mexico with burial to follow at Panteon Municipal Coyame. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel in Odessa, TX and Funeraria de Valle in Ojinaga, Mexico.

Guadalupe Garcia “Lupe” Natividad

Guadalupe Garcia “Lupe” Natividad, age 72, of Odessa, passed away at Midland Memorial Hospital on Monday, February 1, 2016.  He was born in San Carlos, Chihuahua, Mexico on December 15, 1943 to the late Juan and Josefina (Garcia) Natividad.  He worked as a roughneck in the oilfield.

Lupe was a character and a very funny person.  Everyone wanted to be around him.  He was a family man who loved his beer. 

Those left to cherish his love and memory are his wife:  Esperanza Natividad of Pecos; his daughter:  Minerva Garcia and husband Luis of Andrews; three sons:  Jesus Natividad and wife Carmen, Lupe Natividad and wife Emilia, and Ernesto Natividad and wife Rocio, all of Odessa; four brothers:  Raquel Natividad, Ricardo Natividad, Prieto Natividad, and Mike Natividad, all of Midland; sisters:  Maria Natividad of Odessa and Quela Natividad of Pecos; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are scheduled for 1:00 pm Friday, February 5, 2016 at Acres West 24 Hour Chapel, officiated by Pastor Roman Arreola.  Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Section of Ector County Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Edward W Bailey
Edward Wayne Bailey  Sunrise 11-16-1946  Sunset 2-2-2016

Edward Wayne Bailey was born in November 16, 1946 in Razor, Texas, the eldest son to Winfred C and Katie Lee Bailey. As a teen Edward and his family relocated from Arthur City, Texas to Odessa in 1961.

Upon Edward’s graduation from Ector High School in 1965, he moved to Dallas and attended trade school, studying machinery. He worked for ECISD for three years working at Hood, Ross, and OHS.  Later, he spent a little over a year working in the mailroom for the Odessa American.  He will always be remembered and cherished for him being a very kind, loving and generous person who loved to travel. 

On April 16, 1999, Edward married Melanie Rollie of Odessa. With this union, he inherited three daughters. 

Edward was preceded in death by both his parents. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 18 years, Melanie A. Bailey; daughters, Deneshia Fay and Moleshia Jones (Travorak) all of Odessa and Trenishia Payne (Michael) of Abilene; three sisters, Mary Helen Edwards (Marvin) of Dallas, Alice (Peggy) Giddings and Debbie Stubbs both of Fort Worth; one brother:  Larry Bailey (Peggy) of Dallas; as well as 8 grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. 

A Wake will be held Monday, February 8th from 6 - 8 pm at Greater St. John Baptist Church with services to follow, Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 11 am with Pastor Donnie Rollie officiating. Interment will be held at Odessa Gardens #2 Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Pallbearers will include Johnny Rollie, Louis Stevenson, Michael Payne, Garrett Rollie, Sammy Gant, Anthony Wilfred and Travorak Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Jaylien Jones, Dristain Payne, JayBrion Jones, Vernon Fay, Jr., Davare Payne, and Daceion Fay.

Tillie Meeks
Matilda Weaver “Tillie” Meeks

Matilda, also known to many of us as Tillie Meeks, was born October 2, 1942 in Breckenridge, Texas.  She passed from this life on February 2, 2016 in Allen, TX.  She married Sydney “S. E.” Meeks, who preceded her in death.  They raised two sons together – John Daniel Meeks and Roger Wayne Meeks.

Tillie was a retired answering service manager in Andrews, TX where she lived.  In later years, she resided in Allen, TX with her son, John, and daughter-in-law, Lolly Meeks, who oversaw her care in her final years. 

Tillie is survived by her sons:  John Daniel Meeks and his wife, Lolly Meeks of Allen, TX and Roger Wayne Meeks of Andrews, TX; four grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. 

Thank you to these angels who made such an impact in her life and were such a comfort to Tillie during her difficult times:  Curtis Ray Beaty, Evan D’Wayne Beaty, Victoria Breane Beaty, Abigail Michelle Beaty, and especially Elizabeth. 

Graveside services will be Thursday, February 4, 2016 at Andrews Cemetery North in Andrews, TX, officiated by Pastor Mario Martinez.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel. 

Tillie will be missed by many and was loved by all who knew her.

Manuela Chico Soto

Manuela Chico Soto, age 72, of Odessa, passed away on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Medical Center Hospital.  She was born in San Francisco de Oro, Chihuahua, Mexico on October 11, 1943 to the late Antonio and Refugio (Ibarra) Chico. She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.

Those left to cherish her love and memory are her daughters:  Lourdes Soto of Odessa, Maria Barrientes and husband Miguel of Stanton, and LeAnn Soto and husband Shawn of Odessa; son:  Tony Soto and wife Maria of Odessa; brothers:  Guerro Chico and Roberto Chico, both of Mexico; sister: Santos Flores of Mexico; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Rosary will be recited at the funeral home at 7:00 pm on Thursday, February 4, 2016.  Funeral services will be 10:00 am Friday, February 5, 2016 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Father Michael Rodriguez. Interment will follow at Peaceful Gardens Section of Ector County Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Susana Gathitinag
Susana Gathitinag

Susana Gathitinag, age 79, of Odessa, passed away Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Medical Center Hospital.  She was born on Yap Island in the Federated States of Micronesia on February 17, 1936 to the late Paulino Falagrong and Antonia Crisotomo.  She was a homemaker.

Susana was a Christian and loved her God. She was a hard worker and liked to keep busy working in and around her home. Susana kept a garden and taro patch. She was very friendly and loved everyone. Susana’s grandbabies meant the world to her. She will be laid to rest next to her husband who preceded her in death in 2000. They were married in the 1950’s.

Those left to cherish her memory are her four sons:  John Yugammang, Jr., John Lirad, John Dafrad and Joseph Ayin; eight daughters: Mariana Rungun, Augusta Layan, Mary Pinag, Juliana Rungun, Martha Gurwan, Agnes Tinag, Bridget Darog and Kathy Chur; one sister: Helen Galliag and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Paulino and Anotonia (Cristomo) Falagrong; her husband:  John Yugummang, Sr.; brothers: Jesus Gibay and Blas Fangalbuw; and sisters: Josephine Rungum and Concenicion Tinag.

Services and burial will be held at Rumung Cemetery in Yap, Federated States of Micronesia. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Lelia Turner
Lelia Mae Turner

Lelia Mae Turner, age 75, of Odessa, passed from this life on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at Medical Center Hospital.  She was born in Providence, TX on June 10, 1940 to the late Edward and Louise (Wylie) Jones.  Lelia married Donald Ray Turner in Plainview, TX on February 25, 1960 and they enjoyed 56 happy and loving years together.  She was retired from working as an assistant manager at Cloth World. She was a member of the Church of Christ.

Lelia was a true homemaker and the classic Grandma.  Her passion was quilting and sewing and she enjoyed other crafts and painting.  Family was her first priority.  She loved caring for them and was an awesome Grandma.  She was loved by everyone she touched.

Those left to cherish her love and memory are her husband:  Donald Ray Turner of Odessa; two sons:  Eric Turner and wife Sherry of Clovis, NM and John Turner of Las Vegas, NV; daughter:  Margie McAnear and husband Revis of Jefferson, TX; two brothers:  Noland Jones of Odessa and Edward Jones of Snyder; three sisters:  Letha Hooper of Odessa, Edna Jo Lindsey of Ransom Canyon, TX and Gayle Cosgrove of Glen Heights, TX; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her infant son:  Michael Travis Turner.

A family visitation will be at Acres West Funeral Chapel on Saturday, February 6, 2016 from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.  Graveside services will be at Silverton Cemetery in Silverton, TX on Saturday, February 13, 2016 at 1:00 pm.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.
