Maria Rodriguez Nino, age 80, passed from this life at Medical Center Hospital on Tuesday, February 16, 2016. She was born in Las Hacienditas, TX on May 4, 1935 to the late Francisco and Manuela (Sotelo) Rodriguez. She was a homemaker.
Maria grew up on a Ranch in La Esmeralda. She met her husband in 1951 and they spent 23 years together. After he passed away she took on the role of mother and father. Maria enjoyed all of her grandchildren and was a mother to Guadalupe’s children as well. Maria loved her family very much. She enjoyed making frijolitos for her grandchildren and chili macho for everyone. Maria also loved watching her Novellas on television.
Those left to cherish her love and memories are her three sons: Leonel Nino and wife Belsora, Oscar Nino and wife Lisa and Manuel Nino and wife Lori, all of Odessa, TX; daughters: Maribel Lara and husband Gildardo and Griselda Olivas and husband Hector, both of Odessa, TX; sister: Dolores Ramirez of Odessa, TX; 21 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband: Ramon Nino; parents: Francisco and Manuela Rodriguez; four sons: Omar, Roberto, Omero and Roberto Nino; two brothers: Valentine and Toribio Rodriguez; five sisters: Germana, Maria, Andrea, Cila and Ricarda Rodriguez and one grandchild.
Services will be held at a later date in La Esmeralda, Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico and burial will be at Cementerio de La Esmeralda. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Reyes Contreras de Santiago, age 75, of Presidio, passed away on Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. He was born in Mapimi, Durango, Mexico on January 6, 1941 to the late Manuel and Apolonia de Santiago Contreras. He was a ranch hand and a loving husband to his wife, Otilia Baeza Hernandez Contreras.
Funeral services will be at a later date in Ejido de Paradero with interment to follow at Cementerio Ejido de Paradero, Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel in Odessa and Funeraria de Valle in Ojinaga.
|John Rogers Greenwood|
John Rogers Greenwood, age 77, of Goldsmith, passed away at his home on Tuesday, February 16, 2016. He was born in Las Cruces, NM on December 13, 1938 to the late Earl Tatum and Janet (McClanahan) Greenwood. He worked as a truck driver and a manager for Texas LPG Storage.
John was a talented craftsman and fantastic woodworker. He had built a stained glass map of Texas detailing all of the counties, which is currently displayed at the Andrews Chamber of Commerce. He was also an accomplished cook and had taught Helen to cook. A quiet, loving, and principled man, he was big on respect and honor. He loved watching old Westerns, especially those starring John Wayne and enjoyed listening to old Country music. John was an animal lover and his dogs were like children to him.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife: Helen (Atwood) Greenwood of Goldsmith; daughters: Susan Greenwood and husband Michael Earhart of Virginia, Catherine Greenwood of Tulsa, OK, and Janet Varnell and husband Roy of Manford, OK; step-sons: Michael McDowell and wife Kayla of Hugo, OK and Clint McDowell and wife Wendy of Olympia, WA; brother: Frank Greenwood of Glenwood, NM; sisters: Ann Beasley of Longmont,CO, Janet Pursley of Deming, NM, and Margaret Nunez of Glenwood, NM; mother-in-law: Vohn Singleterry of Goldsmith; eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Reba Dail (Bryant) Miller, age 71, of Odessa, TX, passed from this
life at Medical Center Hospital on Wednesday, February 17, 2016. She
was born in Stanton, TX on Thursday, November 2, 1944 to the late
Walter Lee and Nancy Brooks (Etta) Bryant. She worked as a waitress
and was a Baptist.
Reba was very family oriented and she lived for all five of her kids. She loved her sisters, brothers and mother very much, she was always quoting her. Reba enjoyed her job and loved all of her regulars. She worked for Country Café and The Bluebird Café, as well as a number of Cafés over the years.
Those left to cherish her love and memories are her four sons: Charles Dewyane Bryant, Rodney McKinley, Terry McKinley and Donald McKinley, all of Odessa, TX; daughter: Denise Felkins of Odessa, TX; brother: Billie Bryant of Odessa, TX; four sisters: Clara Upchurch of Texarkana, Helen Dodson of Anson, TX, Pauline Lynn of Abilene, TX and Sue Hackney of Arizona; 12 grandchildren: Sandy, Charles, Kayla, Ashley, Amy, Tori, Reba, Leanna, Erica, Casey, DJ, Luke 20 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Walter Lee and Nancy Etta (Brooks) Bryant; three brothers: Johnny Bryant, Bobby Bryant and Jerry (Buck) Bryant and first husband: Luke Rodney McKinney of JH Rose.

Marion and Ollie Baker.

Eliacim Roman, age 10, of Odessa, passed away on Monday, February
15, 2016 at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Texas of injuries
due to a fatal car accident. Eliacim was born in Odessa on December
31, 2005 to Jose and Eliselda (Burrola) Roman. He was a 4th grader
at Murray Fly Elementary.
Roman was a happy, bubbly and a very photogenic boy. He was good in school and had lots of friends. Roman was always outside playing Hide & Seek with his twin brother. He enjoyed swimming, riding his bike, drawing and playing video games. He was always talking about a game called Uncharted IV.
Those left to cherish his love and memory are his parents: Jose and Eliselda Roman of Odessa; paternal grandparents: Juan and Carmen Roman of Mexico; and maternal grandparents: Filomeno and Margarita Burrola of Odessa. Also surviving him are his brothers: Jose Luis Acosta, Juan Roman, Zuriel Roman and his twin, Eliel Roman; and his sisters: Vanessa Segovia and husband Manuel Segovia, Isela Juarez and husband Albert Becerra, Noemi Acosta, and Carmen Roman and husband Bo Gonzales, all of Odessa.

Arettus Ann Sullivan, age 66 of Odessa, TX passed from this life at Medical Center Hospital on Saturday, February 20, 2016. She was born in Snyder, TX on Thursday, June 30, 1949 to the late Boe and Marie (Sumruld) Moffett. She was a Baptist.
Ann loved her children, grandchildren and her cat Sammy very much, they were her whole world. She was a very devout Christian and believer in God. Ann was baptized at First Baptist Church in Snyder as a young child. After her hip surgery she became a shut in and began to learn to crochet. She made quilts for everyone in her family and was very creative. Ann was a very strong and courageous woman. In the last few years she dealt with a lot of pain. She would often do without so others could have what they needed.

Michael Arthur Hoffman, 61, of Odessa, TX died on Sunday,
February 21, 2016, at his home.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held at 11am on Thursday, February 25 at Mid-Cities Community Church. Inurnment will be held at Rock Island Arsenal Cemetery in Rock Island, IL at a later date. Michael was born September 2, 1954 in Moline, IL, the son of James and Joyce Hendrickson Hoffman. He was honored to have served in the U.S. Army. He married Donna Decker on June 10, 1978 in Clayton, IL, who he met during his service in the military.
A St. Louis Cardinals and Chicago Bears fan, Michael also loved watching the Three Stooges. He met lots of friends while playing online games. Michael was a hard worker, whose kids and grandkids were his life. He had inside jokes for everyone. He was very smart about insurance and everyone counted on his wise advice.
Survivors include his children, Sheila (Chris) Davis, of Midland, TX, Jamie (Casey) O'Connell, of Odessa, TX, and Andrew Hoffman, of Gardendale, TX; grandchildren, Justin, Parker, Aniya, Paxton, Pace, and Bentley; mother of his children, Donna Hoffman, of Gardendale, TX; father, James Hoffman, of Naples, FL; brothers, Dan (Mindy) Hoffman, of Hilton Head, SC, Gary (Terri) Hoffman, of East Moline, IL, Kevin (Laura) Hoffman, of Moline, IL; and many nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce, and his beloved best friend and twin sister, Michelle (Dan) Kipp.

Ricardo Antonio Castruita, infant son of Alexandra Granado and Alejandro Castruita was born and went right back home to be with God on Monday, February 22, 2016 in Odessa, Texas.
Survivors include his parents: Alexandra Granado and Alejandro Castruita; grandparents: Antonio Granado Jr. and partner Denise, Andrew and Rosa Martinez, Maria Del Carmen Castruita and Hector Castruita, uncles: Antonio Cruz Granado and Joel Daniel Castruita, aunt: Itzel Maritza Castruita plus numerous great uncles, aunts, cousins and friends.
Visitation will begin Monday February 29, 2016 at 1:00 pm with a prayer service at 6:00 pm at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at 9:00 am at Los Angeles Garden of Ector County Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.
