Melissa Burleson
Melissa Ann “Missy” Burleson

Melissa Ann “Missy” Burleson, age 46, of Odessa, TX passed from this life at Medical Center Hospital on Tuesday, August 9, 2016. She was born in Odessa, TX on Thursday, January 29, 1970 to Robert and Marylou (MacArthur) Dickman. She was a homemaker.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her father: Robert Dickman and wife Patsy of Gardendale, TX; husband: Lance Burleson of Odessa, TX; step-son: Tyler Burleson of Odessa, TX; son: Jacob MacMurdo and Bailea of Odessa, TX; daughter: Haley MacMurdo of Odessa, TX; brother: Robert Dickman Jr. of New Braunfels, TX; three grandchildren: Carter, Hayden and Maddox and nieces: Shelby and Audrey.

She was preceded in death by her mother: Marylou Macarthur.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 Monday, August 15, 2016 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Pastor Terry Easley. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

William Drury 
William E. Drury

William E. Drury, better known to his friends as Bill D., peacefully left this earth on August 10, 2016. He was born on June 2, 1949 in Albuquerque, NM. He married Judy Ford, the love of his life, on May 22, 2003. He was a US Army veteran and served two tours in Vietnam and was honorably discharged. He had been employed by Cook Compression for 15 years and will be missed by his friends and co-workers. Bill was in an Anonymous 12 step program and over the last 20 years has helped countless individuals find a new way to live. He will be missed by many.

Bill was a voracious reader, who enjoyed NASCAR, history and making beautiful pieces out of wood.

He is survived by his wife: Judy Drury; children: Amber Ford, Corey Ford and Jamie and Scott Hubbard; grandchildren: Rayna Ford, Jayce and Sarah Hubbard and Jaylynn and Emily Ford, all of Odessa, TX; mother-in-law: Norma Batchelor; sister-in-law: Connie Moore and husband Barron of Odessa, TX; brother-in-law: Danny Batchelor and wife Lorinda of Katy, TX, as well as, many nieces and nephews in Texas, Kansas, and New Mexico. He loved his family and extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parents: George and Maxine Drury of Albuquerque, NM and his father-in-law: Oliver Batchelor of Odessa, TX.

The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 pm, Saturday, August 13, 2016 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm, officiated by Danny Batchelor. Burial will be held privately. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Terry Kennedy
Terry Earlynn Kennedy

Terry Earlynn Kennedy, 54, of Odessa, passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2016 in Coleman County. She was born October 17, 1961 in Odessa to Perry and Elaine (Jacobs) Kennedy.

She is survived by her girlfriend, Kimberlynn Kaye Ramby of Odessa; father, Perry Kennedy of Dallas; stepfather, Glen Ray Ross of Voss; one nephew in Washington; and many other friends.

Terry is preceded in death by her mother, Elaine Jacobs Kennedy; her brother:  Perry Earl Jacobs Kennedy; and grandparents, Earl and Froney Jacobs.

A memorial graveside service will be held Monday, August 22 at 10 AM at Los Angeles Gardens Section of Ector County Cemetery.

Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Ruby Viverette
Ruby Henderson Viverette

Ruby Henderson Viverette, age 94, of Odessa, died on August 11, 2016 at Madison Medical Resort.  Memorial services will be held on Tuesday August 30, 2016 at the Lutheran Church of the Risen Lord.  Pastor Larry Hood will officiate.

Born on June 24, 1922 in Smith County, Mississippi, Ruby was the daughter of James Monroe and Arrie Hawkins Henderson.  She attended high school in Forest, Mississippi and continued her education at East Central Junior College (Decatur, Mississippi) and Mississippi State College for Women (Columbus).

After completing her education, Ruby taught elementary school and was later employed as a stewardess for Delta Airlines.  She married Raymond Viverette on June 15, 1947.  They moved to Odessa in 1950 where she and Raymond raised two children.  Ruby was extremely active in her church and civic groups and was known for her concern for others as well as her excellent cooking and skill at the bridge table.

She is survived by her husband: Raymond Viverette; daughter:  Susan V. Milner and husband William; son:  Charles R. Viverette, Jr. and wife Connie; three grandchildren:  Joseph Milner, Whitney Viverette and Amy Viverette; one sister and three brothers.

Benjahmen Giles Wilson
Benjahmen Parker Giles-Wilson

Our little angel, Benjahmen Parker Giles-Wilson was born and whisked away to the arms of Jesus on Thursday, August 11, 2016.  He was born at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, TX to Justin Wilson and Logan Giles.

Those left to cherish Baby Ben’s love and memories are his parents: Logan and Justin Wilson of Odessa, TX; maternal grandparents:  Shawna and Darwin Giles of Odessa; paternal grandparents:  Sue Wilson of Odessa and Mike Wilson of Bartlesville, OK; maternal great-grandparents:  Regina and Morad Kasiri of San Antonio, Dwayne and Peggy Burt of New Caney, TX; maternal great-great grandmother:  Gloria Ator of San Antonio; paternal great-grandparents:  Elaine and Paul McHenry of Houston; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his great-grandfather:  H. B. Ator.

A family visitation will be at Acres West on Monday, August 15, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.  Funeral services will be at 10:00 am on Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Pastor Donnie Williams.

Frederick J Russol
Frederick Joseph Russol, MD

Frederick Joseph Russol, MD, age 73, of Midland, passed away on Friday, August 12, 2016 at Hogan Park Nursing and Rehabilitation in Midland. He was born in Queens, NY on August 28, 1942. He attended St. John’s University, Mary-Hardin Baylor College, University of Texas Medical Branch, and Wayne State University earning his doctorate and serving his residency at William Beaumont Hospital. Frederick also served in the US Army Medical Service from 1964-1973. He was retired from private practice in Odessa.

He is survived by his dear friend/daughter: Maribel Molina.

Graveside memorial services will be held at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Monday, August 29, 2016 at 3:00 pm.

Ruben Nuñez Granados

Ruben Nuñez Granados, age 60, passed away at his Odessa home on Monday, August 15, 2016.  He was born in Artesia, NM on January 13, 1956 to the late Antonio and Juanita (Nuñez) Granados.  He was a machinist at Eckel Manufacturing.  Ruben married Sylvia Diaz in Odessa on March 25, 1991.  He was Catholic.

He is survived by his wife:  Sylvia Diaz of Odessa; son:  Paul Granados of Odessa; daughter:  Viviana Casarez of Odessa; five brothers:  Richard Granados and Daniel Granados, both of Artesia, Seferino Granados of El Paso, Hector Granados of Odessa, and Tony Granados of Hagerman, NM; four sisters:  Jane Hernandez of Odessa, Olga Urias of Pecos, and Rosa Ornelas and Dora Gardea, both of Odessa; three grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Rudy Granados.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Father

Porfirio Sotelo Galindo, age 58, of Odessa, TX passed from this life at his residence in Odessa, TX on Monday, August 15, 2016. He was born in Ojinaga, MX on Wednesday, May 7, 1958 to Jose and Trinidad (Sotelo) Galindo.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his wife Martha Galindo of Odessa, TX; two sons: Porfirio Galindo Jr of Odessa, TX and Gererdo Galindo and wife Mariana of Odessa, TX; daughters: Jacky Galindo of Odessa and Dina Pena and husband Humberto of Odessa, TX; three brothers: Jose Galindo and wife Elida of Odessa, Lazaro Galindo and wife Veronica of Lubbock, TX and Adan Galindo and wife Maria of Ojinaga, MX;five sisters: Anita Hernandez and husband Helo of Midland, TX, Eva Castillo and husband Alfredo of Odessa, TX, Loly Galindo of Dumas, TX, Chelina Galindo of Ojinaga, MX and Elfida Galindo of Juarez, MX and 7 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Jose and Trinidad (Sotelo) Galindo.

Funeral service will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, August 19, 2016 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Odessa Garden II section of Ector County Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Rosa (Salcido) Laureano

Rosa (Salcido) Laureano, age 63, of Odessa, TX passed from this life at her home in Odessa, TX on Tuesday, August 16, 2016. She was born in Pecos, TX on Sunday, September 14, 1952 to Jose and Josefina (Tarango) Salcido. She married Juan Laurean in Midland, TX in 1982. She was a retired Nurses Aid.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her husband: Juan Laureano of Odessa, TX; three sons: Juan Alcorn and wife Desi, Tony Laureano and Danny Laureano, all of Odessa, TX; daughter: Anita Gentry; two brothers: Jose Luis Salcido of Arlington, TX and Roberto Salcido of Odessa, TX; sister: Mariana Salcido of Odessa, TX and 15 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents: Jose and Josefina Salcido; son: Paul Luaureano.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00, Friday, August 19, 2016 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Deacon Manuel Luevano. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Ora Byron Cavett
Ora Byron Cavett, age 84 of Odessa, TX passed from this life at Seabury Nursing Center in Odessa on Wednesday, August 17, 2016. He was born in Portales, NM on Sunday, June 6, 1932 to Charles and Ola (Haga) Cavett. He married Anna Beth Webster in Lovington, NM on December 5, 1952.

Ora was a veteran of the US Air Force. He served on the church board and was also a Sunday school teacher for many years. In the past, Ora was a board member of the Art Institute of the Permian Basin for the Wagner Noel Art Center. He enjoyed creating art in various media. Later he taught creative art at Gale Pond - Alamo. He was also fond of exploring. More than once he would say "let's go see what's down this road" before taking off on another adventure.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his wife Anna Cavett of Odessa, TX; son: Rusty Cavett of Stanford, TX; daughters: Carla Penick of Midland, TX and Dawn Boring of Stephenville, TX; 9 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Charles and Ola Cavett; sons: Troy and Craig Cavett; five brothers and one sister.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Faith Church of the Nazarene, officiated by Reverend Barry Reiswig. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

George Norman Smith

George Norman Smith, age 73 of Odessa, TX passed from this life at his residence on Wednesday, August 18, 2016. He was born on Monday, July 5, 1943 in Uvalde, TX to the late Emmitt and Delia (Caldwell) Smith.  George married Judy Durall in Odessa, TX on October 9, 1991. He was a Truck Driver and Ranch Foreman.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his wife Judy Smith of Odessa, TX; sons: Linley Smith and Richard Pease, both of Odessa, TX; brother: Clinton Smith of Mabank, TX; sisters: Barbara Martin of White Oak, TX and Emmitt Smith of Kaufman, TX and 3 grandchildren: Brooke-Lynn Thomas, Tera Pease and Courtney Babbin.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Emmitt and Delia Smith.
