James Franklin Scott, age 73, of Odessa, TX, passed from this life at Medical Center Hospital on Wednesday, September 21, 2016. He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on Monday, July 19, 1943 to Henry and Edna (Cox) Scott. He was a Welder/Welding Inspector.
James was a great father and grandfather. He took care of so many people and will be missed dearly. He enjoyed woodworking. James was affectionately known as Rafiki or Grumpy Grandpa to some. He was loved by all that knew him.
Those left to cherish his love and memories are his ornery-ass daughters: Tammy Joan Scott of Ralls, TX, Terrie Jo Acker of Ralls, TX, Tonya Jolene Rowland of Big Lake, TX and Katy Churchill of Melissa, TX; brother: Jack Scott of Odessa, TX; sister: Linda Scott of Missouri City, TX; close friend: Barbara; 15 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: and brother: Howard Scott.

Shirley Ann Ruddock, age 79, of Odessa, TX, passed from this life in Spring, TX on Thursday, September 22, 2016. She was born in Stamford, TX on Monday, October 12, 1936 to James and Cleo (Hash) Reynolds. Shirley worked at Star Home Hospice and Hospice House for many years as a nurse’s aide. Shirley really enjoyed working with her patients, being outside, fishing, traveling and she loved crafting and could make clothing without any patterns.
Those left to cherish her love and memories are her sons: Alvin Ruddock and wife Sandra of Midland and Terry Ruddock and wife Laura of Odessa; daughter: Sheila Grimes of Spring; brother: George Reynolds; sisters: Marie Loggains and Louise Saxton; son-in-law, Sonny Munoz; grandchildren: Leah Dion Sides and husband Bradley, Shannon Patton, Sonny Ray Munoz, Jeremy Lynn Ruddock and wife Bethany, Larissa Bannowsky and husband Alex and Jake Ruddock and wife Miranda; great grandchildren: Blaine Sides, Reagan Waddle, Drew Darr, AshLynn, Ramsey Kaye, Monroe Charlotte, and Harper Sue Ruddock, Lovell, Lauren, and Wyatt Bannowsky and Marlee Fisher; and great-great grandson, Levi Waddle.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ray Ruddock, her parents: James and Cleo Reynolds; daughter: Sherry Lea Munoz and grandchildren: Matt Ruddock and Joe Grimes and son-in-law, Paul Grimes.

Noama Estelle Mealer, age 85, passed away at her home in Odessa on Friday, September 23, 2016. She was born in Muleshoe, TX on July 11, 1931 to the late C.F. and Stella (Holley) Jordan. Noama taught ceramics at the Senior Center in Simi Valley, CA, where she lived with her sister for 27 years. She returned to Odessa in 2002.
Always in search of a bargain, Naoma was an avid garage sale shopper. She was as fast as the wind and should have been an Olympic runner. Noama loved to dance the Jitterbug with her brother Lloyd and had a beautiful singing voice. Her sense of humor was wonderful and at times quite colorful.
Those left to cherish her love and memory are her sons: Tommy Grimes of Odessa, Billy Grimes of Midland, and Lou "Jr." Mealer of Odessa; daughter: Wendy Mitchell of Odessa. She was an awesome grandma to eight grandchildren: Bobby, Jordan, Kristi, Angie, Jene, Brent, Taylor and Parker; seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings: Troy Jordan, Lloyd Jordan, Pike Jordan, and Esta Lee Evangelista.

Letty Jean Truelock Mayberry, age 88, peacefully passed from this life on September 23, 2016. She was born in Chickasha, Oklahoma on July 19, 1928 to Flossie and Othar Truelock. She married Paul Canon on March 8, 1946. Together they had four children.
Known to many people as “Miss Jean,” she moved to Odessa in 1967 and eventually opened her own business in 1977. Miss Jean was known for her generous heart and sass. She helped many people in the 36 years that she successfully owned and operated her businesses. She was a loving mother, devoted sister, aunt, and grandmother.
She is preceded in death by an infant daughter, her parents, sister, two brothers, one grandson, and one great-great grandson.
Those left to remember her life and legacy are her children, Teddy Canon and wife Carla, Timmy Canon and wife Rhonda, and Becky Henson all of Odessa; brother Cecil Truelock and wife Judy of Childress, Texas, six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and six great-great grandchildren, two nieces, and many nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Wednesday, September 28, 2016 at Faith Community Baptist Church, 9902 West University. Brother Wayne Shelton will officiate. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Camilo Escobedo Aguirre, age 75 of Odessa, TX passed from this life at his residence on Sunday, September 25, 2016. He was born in Ft. Stockton, TX on Thursday, July 17, 1941 to the late Nasario and Santos (Escobedo) Aguirre. He married Elizabeth Gutierrez in Kermit, TX in September 1961 and they enjoyed 55 years together. He worked for the State of Texas Highway Department.
Those left to cherish his love and memories are his wife Elizabeth Aguirre of Odessa, TX; son: David Gutierrez Aguirre and wife Teresa of Odessa, TX; daughters: Irma Valencia and husband Seviano and Ida Valenzuela and husband Danny, both of Odessa, TX; brother: Wenseslao “Chalo” Aguirre of Kermit, TX; sisters: Rosario Martinez of Kermit, TX and Ermenia Salas of Pecos, TX, as well as, 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Nasario and Santos (Escobedo) Aguirre and great-grandson: Elijah Valencia.

He was born in Durant, OK on August 20, 1930 to the late Earl William and Ida Mae (Matthews) Gilliam. He married Margaret Hirrill in Penwell, TX on August 20, 1949 and they enjoyed 67 years together.

on September 28, 2016 at her home at 1332 Tanglewood Lane in
Odessa, TX. She was born on March 12, 1939 in Shevlin, MN to Leo
and Evangeline (Murach) Hofmeister.
MaryAnn was preceded in death by the love of her life her husband Warren Elroy Thompson whom she married on February 4, 1959 in Winterhaven, FL. Together they visited many foreign countries and domestic historical places. Her most treasured place was always at home with her loving family. Our cherished Mother will be dearly loved and missed always.
Those left to cherish her love and memories are Pam and Terry Hughes of Aurora, MN, Quanah and Florecita Thompson of Chandler, AZ, Deanna and Randy Paine of Midland, TX, Karen Bates of South Sioux City, NE, Jennifer Thompson of Gardendale, TX and Cory Thompson of Odessa, TX, as well as five sisters, 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and one great great-granddaughter.

Charles Leslie Alexander, age 70, of Odessa passed from this life
at his residence on Friday, September 30, 2016. He was born in
Eden, TX on Sunday, September 1, 1946 to Bill Alexander and Rosie
Ann Jardin. He married Brenda Davidson on May 15, 1992 in Odessa
and they enjoyed 24 years together.
Charles was a very funny person. Brenda would tell him "I love you" and he would say "I love me too." He was famous for telling every woman he met that he was going to marry them. Charles enjoyed building things whether it was out of wood or concrete. He loved his puppy dogs and car races.
Those left to cherish his love and memories are his wife: Brenda Alexander of Odessa; son: Charles Alexander of Lubbock, TX; one brother: David; four sisters: Marilyn, Lisa and Denise, all of San Antonio, TX and Cathy of Dallas, TX.

Emilia Veronica Pergantis, age 47, of Odessa, TX gained her wings on
October 1, 2016. She was born in Odessa, TX on Tuesday, June 3, 1969
to Thomas J. and Dolores (Pacheco) Espinoza.
Emily enjoyed listening to Pat Green and other favorites. He hobbies included DIY projects, watching "Bud and Sissy", (Urban Cowboy), caring for her dog, Molli and watching the cooking channel. Emilia was always looking on Facebook for new recipes to make for everyone around her to try. She loved to make sure her parents were always well taken care of. If anyone ever needed anything, even if it meant the shirt off of her back, she would give it up in a heartbeat. Emilia was so full of love and compassion. She was someone who you knew would understand anything and everything.

at Medical Center Hospital on Sunday, October 2, 2016. He was born
in Andrews on October 28, 1977 to Curtis and Beverly (Maxwell)
Thomas, He married Chandra Busby in Odessa in 2005 and they enjoyed
11 years together. He was a Crew Hauler in the Oil Field.
Travis, also known as "Tech" was a believer in God. He was a loving father and his kids doted on him. He was a hard worker and always cracking jokes. He enjoyed playing video games, watching football and cheering for the Texas Tech Red Raiders, but mostly for the Dallas Cowboys.
Those left to cherish his love and memories are his wife: Chandra of Odessa; son: Travis Thomas Jr. of Odessa; two daughters: Aubree Thomas and Zoee Thomas, both of Odessa; parents: Curtis Thomas and Beverly Maxwell of Odessa; paternal grandmother: Fern Thomas of Dallas, TX; brother: Donnie Robinson of Lubbock, TX and two sisters: Amy Robinson of Odessa, TX and Melissa Thomas Hicks of Abilene, TX.
He was preceded in death by his two brothers: Ronnie and Cody Robinson.

Dora “Owana” Mills, age 90, passed from this
life at her home in Odessa, TX on Monday, October 3, 2016. Owana
was born April 11, 1926, in Millsap, Texas-Parker Co. to the late
Sylvester and Mabel (Thompson) Herring. She was the 2nd Child of
Ten and the first daughter. Owana graduated high school from Dennis
TX in 1944. She was married to Clifford “Bud” Mills in 1946 in
Eliasville, TX. He passed away in 1986.
Owana worked for Consolidated Air Force in Ft. Worth, Texas as a Riveter on the B29 Bombers. Owana had been a Sales Clerk, for Colonial Convenience Store, until she retired. She was a homemaker and a caregiver. Owana moved to Ward County in 1955 from Young County. Owana was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church of Monahans, TX.
Survivors include her three sons; Dale Mills and wife Linda of Monahans, David Mills and wife Barbara of Monahans, Johnny Mills and wife Doris of Odessa, TX; one daughter: Karen Mills Crawford and husband Rodger of Odessa, TX; brother: Charles Herring of Graham, TX; three sisters: Jolene McMillan of Stephenville, TX, Holly Jean Posey of Newcastle, TX, and Erlene Routon of Newcastle, TX; also six grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren, four great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband: Clifford “Bud” Mills; parents: Sylvester and Mabel Herring; three brothers: Ledford Herring, Don Herring and Ronnie Herring and two sisters: Nelda Anderson and Mary Kinser.
Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm, Monday, October 3, 2016. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Monahans Municipal Cemetery in Monahans, TX, officiated by Pastor Jeppie S. Wilson Jr.
