|Charles Raymond Viverette|
C. Raymond Viverette, age 94, of Odessa,
Texas, died on October 19, 2016, at Madison Medical Resort. Memorial
services will be held on Saturday, November 5, at 2:00 PM, at
Lutheran Church of the Risen Lord. Pastor Larry Hood will officiate.
Born on October 8, 1922, in Union, Mississippi, Raymond was the son of Luther Elby and Mamie Smith Viverette. Raymond attended East Central Junior College (Decatur, Mississippi). He served in the Air Force from March of 1943 through April of 1947, and returned to marry Ruby Henderson on June 15, 1947. He graduated from Mississippi State University with a BS in Petroleum Geology in 1950.
Raymond and Ruby moved to Odessa in 1950, and lived in either Odessa or Midland since then. During his career, Raymond worked with Lane Wells Company (now Dresser Atlas), Hycalog, Inc., and Ram Guns, Inc. He also founded two businesses, Tracer Surveys and Tracer Drilling. In the early 1980's, Raymond began a consulting career, which he continued until his retirement in 2003.
Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby, in August. They were married for 69 years. He is survived by his daughter, Susan V. Milner and husband, William; son, Charles R. Viverette, Jr. and wife, Connie; grandchildren Joseph Milner and wife, Kali, Whitney Viverette, and Amy Viverette.
The family wishes to thank the entire staff at Madison for the loving care they extended to both Raymond and Ruby.

Reynaldo Flores Hill, age 80, of Odessa, TX passed from this life at Madison Medical Resort in Odessa on Wednesday, October 19, 2016. He was born in Millersview, TX on Tuesday, April 14, 1936 to the late Rumaldo and Elena (Flores) Hill. Those left to cherish his love and memories are his two sons: Reynaldo and Frank Hill of Odessa; daughter: Mary Mata of Odessa; two brothers: Willie Hill and wife Gloria and Rumaldo Hill, all of Odessa; two sisters: Mary Ann Ortega and husband Jesse and Lidia Cruz, all of Odessa and six grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife: Feliciana Bersosa.

Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Monday

Nelda Yvonne Norman, 86, of Odessa passed away in Odessa on Thursday, October 20, 2016. She was born in Rule, TX on July 6,1930 to the late Norville and Mondue (Carnes) Norman. She was a homemaker, a loving mother and grandmother.
Those left to cherish her love and memory are her son: Vic Reese and wife Mary Lou of Gardendale; daughter: Brenda Gass and husband Jimmie of Llano; two brothers: Paul Norman of Odessa and Edward Norman of Tow; three grandchildren: Stephanie Smith, Tammy Hight, and Kirk Reese; sixteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren; along with a number of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers: Larry and Jerry Norman; sister: Margie Weaver; and one granddaughter: Dorrina Fletcher.
Memorial services will be held at 1st Southern Baptist Church, 6849 Goldenrod, Gardendale, TX at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 12, 2016. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

James Rolls, age 61, of Odessa, TX passed from this life at his residence on Thursday, October 20, 2016. He was born in Cleburne, TX on May 22, 1955 to Bobby Joe and Peggy Jean (Whitten) Rolls.
James was eccentric, rebellious and cut against the grain. He liked things fast paced and his way, out of the ordinary. James was very compassionate and giving but had a strange mix of selfish generosity. He never met a stranger and had many friends, although he could hold a grudge and would remind you of it. James also enjoyed telling stories, especially the ones people wanted to forget. He loved motorcycles and riding his trike. If they have GoldWing trikes in Heaven, James most certainly has a new one, outfitted with the best bells and whistles that he so loves, and is cruising just as fast as he can through those streets of gold.
Those left to cherish his love and memories are his loving wife: Barbara (Sickler) Rolls of Odessa; three sons: Rick Rolls of Omaha, NE, Shawn Rolls and wife Tricia of Midland and Christopher Henderson of Odessa; daughter: Bobbijo Journey and husband Gregory of Odessa; brother: Marty Rolls and wife Leslie of Georgetown, TX; two sisters: Dona Edge and husband Dearl of Midland and Mary Layh and husband Mike of New Braunfels and two grandchildren: Gavin Rolls and Cameron Cross.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Peggy Jean Malcolm and stepfather, Conrad Wayne Malcolm; and father, Bobby Joe Rolls and stepmother, Emma Jean Rolls.

Cynthia Jean Schwartz, age 54, of Odessa passed away at her home on Friday, October 21, 2016. She was born in Mineral Wells, TX on October 6, 1962 to Anell (McMaster) Nicks and the late Charles P. Nicks. She married Alvin Schwartz in Bastrop, TX in 1981. She drove a school bus for ECISD.
Cynthia leaves behind to cherish her memory her loving husband: Alvin Schwartz of Odessa; mother: Anell Nicks of Stepenville; two daughters: Kirstie Nicks and Brandy Boen and husband Justin, all of Odessa; brother: Charles Nicks, Jr. of Brownwood; sister: Diane Hargraves of Murfreesboro, TN; seven grandchildren: Ashton Iness, Jacolby Schwartz, Haven Clary, Albree Schwartz, Laythen Mills, Braydden Mills, and Zackaria Boen; and two great-grandchildren: Haydden and Hayleigh Forgus.

Andres Ramirez Saavedra, 63, of Odessa, passed away at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa on Thursday, October 20, 2016. He was born in Mexico on September 24, 1953 to Antonio and Mercedes (Saavedra) Ramirez.
He worked in maintenance for the El Rancho Supermarket.
Mr. Ramirez is survived by his sons: Ricardo Ramirez, Francisco Gabriel Ramirez, Andres Ramirez, and Antonio Ramirez; one brother: Samuel Ramirez; and two sisters: Elena Ramirez and Susana Ramirez.
Funeral services will be at a later date in Juarez, Mexico.

Joe Concepcion Araiza, age 67, of Odessa went on to his Heavenly home on Saturday, October 22, 2016 from Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. He entered his earthly life on Thursday, September 22, 1949, born to the late Encarnacion and Maria (Herrera) Araiza. Joe was a faithful member of the Church of Christ since his teenage years. He was a mechanic and a US Navy Veteran.
Joe loved to share war stories and talk about his ship. He was an excellent mechanic and a hard worker, who taught his kids how to provide for their families and to never give up. He believed something you do should be not only done right, but done to the best of your ability. He was a faithful Christian who loved God and would give the shirt off of his back to help others. He welcomed all into his home. Joe enjoyed playing video games and attending church before his illness prevented it.
Those left to cherish his love and memory are his wife of almost 46 years: Linda Araiza; two sons: Joe Albert Araiza and Jason Araiza and wife Erika; three daughters: Doralee Araiza, Dayna Araiza, and Madonna Belis Amatone and husband Carlos; brother: Fernando Araiza and wife Tillie; sister: Pat Bustos and husband Manuel; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents, two brothers, Albert and Jimmy, and three grandchildren, preceded him in death.
Funeral services will be Acres West Funeral Chapel at 3:00 pm Saturday, October 29, 2016, officiated by Brother Israel Zavala. Interment with military honors will be at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio, Texas on Monday, October 31, 2016 at 2:00 pm. Amy (Tovar) Tarango, age 47, of Odessa, TX passed from this life at her residence on Monday, October 24, 2016. She was born in Crane, TX on Thursday, October 2, 1969 to Marcos and Eva (Villareal) Tovar. She was an active member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church since 2004.
Amy was a hairdresser and she owned and operated Amy's Hair Salon since 2005. She was a fighter and she never gave up the battle against Cancer. Amy loved baking, decorating and spending time with family during the holidays.
Those left to cherish her love and memories are her beloved husband of 18 years: Rogelio Tarango of Odessa; two sons: Zackery and Rogelio Tarango Jr, both of Odessa; three daughters: Kalysta Jasmin Tarango of Odessa, Marina Tarango and Maribell Tarango, both of Clovis, NM; Father: Marcos Tovar of Odessa and one sister: Paz Acosta of Odessa, TX.
She was preceded in death by her mother: Eva Villareal Tovar.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, October 28, 2016 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, officiated by Father Bernardito Getigan. Our borrowed angel, Gabriella Hanalei Ponce, was born and returned to Jesus’ arms on Monday, October 24, 2016 in Odessa.
Gabriella is survived by her parents: Maurelio and Desiree (Ortiz) Ponce of Odessa; her paternal grandparents: Ofelia Munoz , Maurelio Ponce Sr. and spouse Dalfina; her maternal grandparents: Sonya Lopez and spouse Philip, Romero Ortiz and spouse Elaine; three uncles: Isaiah Ponce , Luciano “Chano” Ponce, Philip Ortiz; and four aunts: Elva Tuuu, Alma Tuuu, Tori Tuuu and Alexandra Ortiz.
Graveside services will be held at 9:00 am, Thursday, October 27, 2016 at Los Angeles Gardens section of the Ector County Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Mike Bartlett. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.
