Linda Ann Hodges

Linda Ann Hodges, age 68, of Midland, TX, passed from this life at Midland Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, November 16, 2016. She was born in Tallulah, Louisiana on Friday, August 27, 1948 to the late Roy Earl and Jewel Mae (Davis) Hodges. She was an electrologist and owned Linda’s Electrolysis. 

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her daughter: Kim Rhyne and husband Darrell of Odessa; brother: Timothy Hodges of Round Rock; aunt: Jennie Soloman of Odessa; grandchildren: Elizabeth and Tatum and great-grandchild: Lyla Rhyne. 

She was preceded in death by her parents Jewel and Roy Hodges; son: Jack Hodges; brother: J.C. Hodges; aunt: Bessie Knust and uncle: Ross Soloman.

Ellen Margaret Carroll

Ellen Margaret Carroll, age 59, of Midland, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2016.  She was born in Odessa on February 16, 1957 to the late R. M. Carroll, Jr. and Rachel (Petry) Carroll.  She was a drilling engineer technician for Exxon Mobil.  Ellen had worked for Exxon Mobil for 30 years and was preparing for retirement in December.  She had many friends within the company.

Ellen was a very sweet person who would do anything for anyone.  She helped with Meals on Wheels and with the animal adoptions at Pet Smart.  She loved cats and enjoyed knitting and gardening.

Those left to cherish her love and memory are her brother:  Brent Carroll and wife Julie of Midland; Lynn Carroll and Mike Smolen of Paonia, CO; one nephew:  Robert Carroll; nieces:  Jana Yerges and Melissa Gilbert; and seven great-nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Robert “Bob” Jack Wright Sr

Robert “Bob” Jack Wright Sr., age 58, of New, Mexico passed from this life at his residence on Thursday, November 17, 2016. He was born in Fort Bliss, TX on Saturday, April 12, 1958 to the late Robert Edward and Mary Helen (Harmon) Wright. He was a Gas Plant Operator and Compression Mechanic for 16 years.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his sons: Bobby Wright and wife Rebecca of Albuquerque, NM, Casey Martin and wife Sarah of Seminole, TX and Russell Martin and wife Chelsea of Waco, TX; daughter: Amanda Cavett and husband Scott of Eunice, NM and brothers: Laramie Wright and wife Keiko of San Jose, CA, Billy Wright and wife Donna of Ehrenburg, AZ and Edward Wright and wife Alice of Phoenix, AZ, as well as 6 grandchildren and one on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents and daughter: Sedelta Wright.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at First United Methodist Church in Eunice, NM, officiated by Pastor Matt Williamson. Burial will follow at Brunson Memorial Cemetery in Eunice, NM. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Libbie Mendivil Villa

Libbie Mendivil Villa, age 15, of Odessa, TX, passed from this life at United Medical Center in Lubbock, TX on Wednesday, November 16, 2016. She was born in Odessa, TX on October 19, 2001 to Joe and Rosa Villa. She was a student at Odessa High School.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her parents: Joe and Rosa Villa of Odessa; paternal grandmother: Julia Villa of Odessa; brothers: Joe and Jacob Villa of Odessa; sisters: JoAmber Villa, JoAnne Villa, Julia Villa and Bobbie Jo Villa, all of Odessa and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Acres West 24 Hour Funeral Chapel, officiated by Pastor Elias Marin. Burial will follow at Ector County Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Geneva "Neva" Guinell Bird

Geneva "Neva" Guinell Bird, age 82, of Odessa, TX passed from this life at her residence on Saturday, November 19, 2016. She was born in Rockwood, TX on Wednesday, September 12, 1934 to the late Roy and Nettie (Shields) Bible.

Those left to cherish her love and memoires are her sons: Albert Lee Royce Bird and Robert Dell "Bobby Dell" Bird; daughters: Deborah Jane Pollock and Brenda Denise Fikes-Bird; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband: Albert Franklin Bird.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 pm, Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Asbury United Methodist Church, officiated by Pastor Russ Nebhut. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Magdalene Margaret (Glover) Simons

Magdalene Margaret (Glover) Simons, age 72, of Odessa, TX, passed from this life at Medical Center Hospital on Monday, November 21, 2016 at 1:31 pm, surrounded by many family members. She was born in Olean, New York on August 5, 1944 to the late Joseph and Helen (Griffin) Glover. She was a homemaker and also worked in different areas of the service industry.  Magdalene demonstrated to everyone that it is never too late.  She went back to school at the age of 46, completing and receiving her GED.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her two sons: Jeffery and Richard Wheaton; three daughters: Charlene Granado, Laura Riggs and Jennifer Doss; brother: Richard Glover; sister: Ruth Elaine Washington; 26 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband: Sherwood Simons.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at Acres West Funeral Chapel.   Additional services for family and friends from out of state will be held later this coming summer.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Rita Kay (Brinson) Robins

Rita Kay (Brinson) Robins, age 65, of Odessa, TX, passed from this life at her residence on Monday, November 21, 2016. She was born in Kermit, TX on Thursday, February 8, 1951 to Albert and Burnece (Townsend) Brinson. She was a 1969 graduate of OHS with a degree in Cosmetology and an Operations Manager for Clover House.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her son: Robert Allen Smith of Odessa; daughters: Lisa Ann Smith of Arlington and Heather Norman of Odessa; sister: Evelyn Browning-Newman; nephew: Colton Maynard and 7 grandchildren: Kyle, Tiffany, AJ, Aaron, Tyler, Cody and Brianna.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years: Philip Austin Robins.

Billie Jean Melton, age 81, of Odessa, TX, passed from this life at Mo’s Country Living on Wednesday, November 23, 2016. She was born in McKinney, TX on Wednesday, June 26, 1935 to the late Joe and Connie Mae (Watson) Ramey.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her sons: L.V. “Butch” Foreman of Odessa and William Garfield Foreman of Florida and daughters: Mary Darlene Schaub of Tuscon and Lucy Jean Riley of Odessa.

Services will be held privately by the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel Crematory.

Guillermo “Willie” Fierros Ybarra

Guillermo “Willie” Fierros Ybarra, age 52, of Odessa, TX, passed from this life at Medical Center Hospital on Wednesday, November 23, 2016. He was born in Odessa, TX on Saturday, September 19, 1964 to the late Salvador and Maria (Fierros) Ybarra.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his three sisters: Lety Hernandez of Eden, OK, Patricia Ybarra, Andrea Robles and Mary Lou Lozano, all of California and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers: Adrian Fierros, Arturo Ybarra and Alfred Ybarra Sr.

Family visitation will begin at 1:00 pm Saturday, November 26, 2016. Going Home Celebration will be held at 5:00 pm, Saturday, November 26, 2016 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Brother Pedro Landa. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Camela Chandler
Camela “Cammy” Dawn Harrison Chandler
Camela “Cammy” Harrison Chandler, age 59 of Big Spring, TX moved to her heavenly home on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 after putting up a brave front fighting Cancer. Camela was born on October 30, 1957 in Houston, TX to Hancel Herbert and Jacqueline Smith Harrison.

Cammy’s parents, brother Larry Scott Harrison, and husband Robert Searcy Chandler III all predecease her.

Cammy was a beautiful, loving, free spirit who always did things her way.

Cammy leaves to grieve, her big brother and sister in law Rick and Carol Harrison of Crosby, TX. She will also be sorely missed by her beloved dogs, Magena (Bean) and Asha Fiona who were always by her side. Also surviving her are her close friends Mary Beth, Michelle, and Starla who comforted her along this journey.

A Private Service and Interment will be held.
Elizabeth Tisdale
Elizabeth Agnes "Liz" Tisdale

Elizabeth Agnes "Liz" Tisdale, of Odessa, TX passed away on Friday, November 25, 2016 at Medical Center Hospital surrounded by her family. 

Friends and family will gather to celebrate her life at Acres West Funeral Chapel at 1:00 pm on Monday, November 28, 2016 with  Michael Courtney of Life Change Baptist Church officiating.  Interment follows at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Skeeter Fulton, Dustin Courtney, Josh Brown, Durgon Horn, Scott Fulton and Drew Gasser.  Honorary pallbearers are Stew Mann and Jorge Gonzalez.

Preceding services, a visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday evening from 5 to 7:00 pm at Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Liz was born in Gladewater, TX on February 4, 1933 to the late Floyd and Alma Palmer and was the 5th of six children.  She was the proud mother of her only daughter, Deanie, and the grandmother to her two grandsons, Floyd and Aaron.  Liz lived an adventurous life and loved Willie Nelson, taking walks and rides on golf carts, playing slot machines in Vegas, and reminiscing on good times.  But most of all, she loved the time spent with her family.  She worked at Warfield Truck Stop for over 20 years.  She was baptized by her loving nephews Michael Courtney and Monty Hilliard on September 19th, 2015.

Liz is survived by her only daughter:  Deanie Rogers of Odessa, TX; her grandsons:  Floyd Rogers of Odessa, and Aaron Rogers and wife Allison of San Antonio, TX; her four great-grandchildren:  Blake Rogers of Odessa, TX, and Dakota, Nash, and Georgia Rogers of San Antonio, TX; her sister:  Sue Horn; and numerous nieces, nephews and all of their children.

Liz is preceded in death by her mother:  Alma; her father:  Floyd; three brothers:  Floyd, Doyle, and Johnny; sister:  Mary; nephew:  Andy; and nieces:  Sandra and Beth.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Odessa Christian School, 2000 Doran Dr., Odessa, TX 79761, or the charity of your choice.

Juan Orioll Reyes, Jr., our precious angel was born on Wednesday, November 23, 2016 and returned to the arms of Jesus on Friday, November 25, 2016.

He leaves behind his parents: Juan Reyes, Sr. and Elizabeth Balderama of Odessa, TX; maternal grandmother:  Bertha Garcia of Odessa; paternal grandmother:  Manuela Galindo of Ojinaga; and his brothers and sisters:  Jahaziel Reyes, Axel Reyes, Aranely Reyes, Claribel Balderama, Clarissa Martinez, Crystal Martinez, Christy Martinez.

A prayer service will be at Acres West Funeral Chapel at 7:00 pm on Monday, November 28, 2016.  Graveside services will be at 9:00 am Tuesday, November 29, 2016 at Los Angeles Gardens Section of Ector County Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Fernando Luna.
