Jose Luis Galindo

Jose Luis Galindo, age 56, of Odessa, (formerly of Ft. Stockton) passed away in Odessa on Friday, November 25, 2016.  He was born in Pecos, TX on June 13, 1960 to the late Marcos C. and Alicia (Hernandez) Galindo.  He had worked as a prep cook for K-Bobs in Fort Stockton.

He is survived by his wife:  Jeanette Galindo of Riverside, CA; son:  Mark Anthony Galindo of Riverside, CA; daughter:  Angela Marie Armendariz of Pecos, TX; two sisters:  Polly Galindo of Pecos and Janie G. Jaramillo of Odessa; and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers.

Private services will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel Crematory.

Jerry Anne Fletcher

Jerry Anne Fletcher, age 73, of Odessa passed from this life at Medical Center Hospital on Saturday, November 26, 2016.  She was born in Monahans, TX on March 6, 1943 to the late Bill and Dosha Elizabeth (Divinie) Thomas.  She was a school crossing guard.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Tim Edward Fletcher; four brothers:  James Berton Thomas, Red Thomas, Bronc Thomas, and Eugene Thomas; and one sister:  Lois Wampler.

Those left to cherish her love and memory are her daughter:  Sandra Vasek and husband Todd of Odessa; sons:  Kendall Ross of Arkansas, Randell Ross of Denton, Timothy Fletcher of Midland, and Edd Fletcher of Brownwood; sister:  Billie Dee Christmas of Arkansas; fourteen grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel. 

Erasmo Ed Arredondo
Erasmo R. "Ed" Arredondo

Erasmo R. "Ed" Arredondo, age 91, of Odessa went to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 26, 2016.  He was born in Panna Maria, Texas on February 11, 1925 to the late Pedro Rodriguez Arredondo and Teodosita (Rodriguez) Arredondo.  He married Clara Molina Arredondo in Lamesa on October 25, 1943.  They were former members of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.

He is survived by his daughters:  Maria Elena A. Lopez  (Lorenzo Sr.) and Sylvia A. Saucedo (Rafael), all of Odessa, Connie Foret of Ft. Worth, and Berlinda Lopez Licon (Jose, Jr.) of Odessa; sons:  Jody Arredondo, Jr. (Sheryl) of Apache Junction, AZ, Ernie Arredondo (Martee) of Memphis, TN, and Sammy Arredondo of Odessa; sister:  Estella Robles of Corpus Christi, TX; sisters-in-law:  Maria G. Arredondo, Raymunda Arredondo and Viola Jacobo ; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 70 years:  Clara Molina Arredondo; son:  Edwardo “Bobby” Arredondo; grandson:  Javier Villa; great-grandson:  Christian Ray Saucedo; brothers:  Pedro, Alfredo, Benito, Isaac, and Lupe Arredondo and sisters:  Dora, Juanita, Francisca, and Ninfa.

Rosary will be said at Acres West 24 Hour Chapel, 8115 W. University Blvd. Odessa at 7:00 pm on Thursday, December 1, 2016.  Funeral Services will be at Acres West on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 10:00 am, officiated by Rev. Jimmy Braswell.  Interment will follow at Peaceful Garden of Ector County Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Donald Ray Benham

Donald Ray Benham, age 79, of Odessa, passed away at Parks Methodist Retirement Village in Odessa on Sunday, November 27, 2016.  He was born in Clarksville, TX on April 20, 1937 to the late Farris and Letsy (Taylor) Benham.

Those left to cherish his love and memory are his son:  Jeffery Benham of Odessa; daughter:  Meree Barron of Jacksonville, FL; sister: Rhonda Williamson of Granbury, TX; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, and his brothers.

Graveside services will be 10:00 am Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Los Angeles Gardens Section of Ector County Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Larry Hood.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Carmen A Porras
Carmen Acosta Porras

Carmen Acosta Porras, age 74, of Odessa, passed from this life on Wednesday, November 30 , 2016 at Medical Center Hospital.  She was born in Buenos Aires, Chihuahua, Mexico on September 23, 1942 to the late Cirilo Acosta Ornelas and Tarcila Salazar Olivas de Acosta.  Carmen married Abelino Porras Martinez in Buenos Aires on October 9, 1959.  He preceded her in death January 24, 2012.

Those left to cherish her love and memory are her sons:  Adolfo Porras of Odessa, Magdaleno Porras  and Abelino Porras, Jr. both of Ojinaga, MX, Jose Porras, Raul Porras, and Sergio Omar Porras, all of Odessa; three daughters:  Noemi Benavides, Carmen Aguirre, and Laura Venegas, all of Odessa; four brothers:  Irineo Acosta of Ojinaga, MX, Jose Paz Acosta of Juarez, MX, and Jorge Acosta and Mario Acosta, both of Farmington, NM; four sisters:  Celia Acosta and Olga Javalera, both of Monte Vista, CO, Isabel Flores of Odessa, TX, Francisca Heredia of Ulysses, KS; 40 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Carmen was preceded in death by her daughter:  Socorro Aida Porras; brothers:  Gualberto Acosta, Ramon Acosta, Manuel Acosta, Felix Acosta, and Macario Acosta; and four grandchildren:  Adolfo Porras, Jr., Jaylah Flotte, Alexis Porras, and Mari Carmen Porras.

Visitation will be at Acres West Funeral Chapel Thursday and Friday, December 1st and 2nd.  Funeral services will be at a later date in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico with interment to follow at El Ultimo Refugio Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel of Odessa and Funeraria de Valle in Ojinaga.

Juan Manuel P. Mendoza, age 62, of Odessa entered into his eternal life on November 29, 2016.  He was born in Big Spring, TX on December 19, 1953 to Ramon Mendoza, Sr. and Maria (Perez) Mendoza.  Juan was a machinist for Odessa Babbit Bearing.

Those left to cherish his love and memory are his mother:  Maria P. Mendoza of Odessa; brothers:  Raymond P. Mendoza and wife Irene of and Frank P. Mendoza and wife Irma, and Johnny R. Mendoza and wife Jessie, all of Odessa; sisters:  Benita Luna and husband Jesse of Dallas, and Carmen Campos and husband Blas of Odessa, Mary Alcantar and husband Lee of Dallas, and Mary Ann Wolfe and husband Corkey of Odessa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father and two brothers:  David "Bivi" Mendoza and Joe P. Mendoza.

Rosary will be recited at Acres West Funeral Chapel at 7:00 pm on Sunday, December 4, 2016.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 pm Monday, December 5, 2016 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, officiated by Fr. Frank Chavez.  Interment will follow at Rose Hill Gardens Section of Ector County Cemetery.  Pallbearers will include Johnny Mendoza, David Mendoza Jr., Christopher Campos, Jesse Luna Jr., Javier Becerra Jr. and Jeremy Becerra.

Tammie Guerrero

Tammie Guerrero, age 59, of Odessa, TX, entered eternity at Medical Center Hospital on Wednesday, November 30, 2016. She was born in Whittier, CA on Sunday, November 3, 1957 to the late Joseph and Therma (Hansen) Stinson.

Tammie was very giving and everyone who met her loved her. She was thoughtful and would call to sing Happy Birthday to you. She didn’t have a bad bone in her body. Tammie was creative. She was a talented Cosmetologist for 30 years and she loved to draw and paint. Tammie would match her jewelry to her outfits and was very stylish. She also enjoyed telling jokes and watching movies and televison. Tammie was loved by her church and she loved her Heavenly Father, family, friends, and especially her grandchildren. She had a way of making everyone laugh with her jokes and stories. Her laughter was infectious.

Those left to cherish her love and memory are her daughters: Jada Chapman and husband Christopher of Baltimore, MD and Melissa Lopez of Odessa; brother: Marshall Stinson and wife Sherilynn of Sandy, UT and 5 grandchildren: Cassia Chapman, Micaylah Lopez, Deion Chapman, Maia Lopez and Ryan Carrasco.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Anthony Guerrero; parents and sister: Therma Kay Olson.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, December 5, 2016 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, officiated by Bishop David Martin. Burial will follow at Peaceful Gardens Section of Ector County Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Our little angel, Liam Elijah Tellez was born on Thursday, October 20, 2016 and was whisked away to the arms of Jesus on Wednesday, November 30, 2016 at Medical Center Hospital.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his parents: Jonathan Isaac Suarez and Kimberly Nikkol Ayala; maternal grandmother: Wilma Gonzalez and sister: Lydia Deligh Tellez.

Services will be held privately by the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Rachel "Jan" Pitchford

Rachel "Jan" Pitchford, age 80, of Odessa, passed from this life in Odessa on Saturday, December 3, 2016.  She was born in Stamford, TX on April 14, 1936 to the late Melvin Jasper and Mettie Bell (Simpkins) Dominey.  She was a homemaker and a prayer warrior.  Jan loved God and Jesus.  She faithfully prayed Psalm 91 over her children every morning. 

She was a huge George Jones fan, collecting over 1000 cd's and pictures. (More pictures of George than her own kids!) Jan loved to cook and her fried chicken and cornbread dressing were well loved family favorites.

Jan was preceded in death by her parents; her husband:  William Edgar Pitchford; her son:  Eddie Wayne Pitchford; three brothers:  Melvin Eugene Dominey, Robert Alvin "Tuddy" Dominey, and Jimmy Wayne Dominey; and sisters:  Joyce Faye Peel and Billie Lanice Bryan.

Those left to cherish her love and memory are her daughters:  Vickie Storie and husband James, Billie Evans, and Teresa Adams, all of Odessa and Janet Love of Fort Worth; sister:  Judy Gail Courtney of Caldwell; sister-in-law:  Gayla Dominey of Odessa; six grandchildren:  Terri Lynn Wolf, Kathryn Ann Rains, Tiffany Williams, Randy Lynn Adams, Cole Evans and Richard Love II; fifteen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday evening from 6:00 for 8:00 pm.  Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Friday, December 9, 2016 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Rev. Jimmy Braswell.  Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Kenneth Dale Saunders

Kenneth Dale Saunders, 72, of Big Spring, passed away at his home on Saturday, December 13, 2016.  He was born in Loraine, TX on March 11, 1944 to the late Phillip Wright Saunders, Sr. and Ollie Catherine (Reed) Saunders.  He married Nelda Henderson in Lovington, NM on October 4, 1971.  He worked as a manager for Home Depot.

Kenneth is survived by his wife:  Nelda Saunders of Big Spring; daughters:  Tonya Giles of Midland; brother:  Gary Saunders of Midland; and six grandchildren with one on the way.

No services will be held at this time.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel and Crematory.
