Robert “Bob” Frank Moss

Robert “Bob” Frank Moss, age 77, of Odessa, TX passed from this life at Madison Medical Resort on Wednesday, December 28, 2016. He was born in Goodman, Mississippi on Friday, January 13, 1939 to the late Frances and Monty (Bell) Moss.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his daughter: Tony Faye Mattice of CA; brothers: Eddie and Micky Moss, both of Odessa; sister: Mary Thomas of Mountain Home, AR and grandchild: Katrina Faye of CA.

Services will be held privately at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Danny J Halfacre
Danny Junior Halfacre

Danny Junior Halfacre, age 62, of Odessa, passed away at his home on Thursday, December 29, 2016.  Danny was born in Odessa on February 9, 1954 to the late Norvel Junio Halfacre and Hester Alene (Polston) Halfacre.  Danny married Iva Joyce Lisenbee in Odessa on March 10, 1971.  Together they worked as a team doing long haul trucking. 

Those left to cherish his love and memory are his sons:  Shane Halfacre and Dean Halfacre and wife Jennifer, all of Odessa; daughter:  Danna Charles and husband Marcus of Odessa; sisters:  Pam Robinson and Becky Walker, both of Odessa; grandchildren:    Victoria Choate, Alex Halfacre, Maritza Brand, LeeAnn McNutt, Kade McNutt, Tagein  Halfacre, Sabrina Charles, ShiAnn Charles, and D.J. Charles; and great-grandchildren:  Colton Oliver and Rylan Choate.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his beloved wife, Joyce, and his brother:  Joseph "Joe" Halfacre.

Memorial services will be privately held at Antioch Christian Church at a later date.  Pastor Matt Wilson will officiate.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Regena A Derrick
Regena Ann Derrick

The Honorable Regena Ann Derrick, age 60, of Mentone, TX passed from this life at Medical Center Hospital on Thursday, December 29, 2016.  Regena was born in Kermit, TX on November 18, 1956 to the late Gauvayne Wills and Leila Jean (Rushing) Creager.  She married Charles R. Derrick  and they enjoyed 23 years together.  Regena had a long career of service in Mentone as Justice of the Peace (10 years) as well as her cooking for the Boottrack Cafe which she owned and operated.  Most recently, she had worked for the NGL trucking company.  Regena loved the Davis Mountains and enjoyed treasure hunting.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her husband: Charles Derrick of Mentone; son:  William Biles and wife Stephanie of Phoenix, AZ and their children Sean Biles and Tiffany Sutton; daughters:  Barby Shahan and husband Russell and their children:  Nikki Martinez and Tasha Delcore; Sherrie Haygood and husband Scott and their children:  Todd Henson and Robert Hinchiffe; and Leann Patterson and husband Russell and their children Draven and Matthew Patterson; her great-grandchildren:  Noree, Lia and Bliss Martinez, and Aizlynn, Wylie, and Cooper Delcore; step-mother:  Reta Wills and her children:  Keith Davis of Austin, Greg Davis of Houston, and Lisa Davis Hall of Alvarado; and her niece:  Sheila Bradley.

She was preceded in death by her mother:  Leila Creager; her father: Gauvayne Wills; her siblings:  George Wills and Kathy Putman;  and her niece:  Teresa Bradley.

Funeral services in Odessa will be on Monday, January 2, 2017 at 12 noon, at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Pastor Larry Hood.  Graveside services will be at 12 noon, Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at the Burkett Cemetery in Burkett, TX, officiated by Pastor Gary Robinson of Clairette Baptist Church.

Terri Sue Clay

Terri Sue Clay, age 53, of Pleasant Hill, LA, passed from this life on Friday, December 30, 2016 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa, TX.  She was born in Dayton, OH on August 13, 1963.  She had been working in Midland at the Mighty Wash.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons:  Billy Ray Campbell III and Bobby Monroe Campbell of Pleasant Hill, LA; and her sister:  Tammy Clay of Dayton, OH.

Brijida Vega de Ortega, age 82, of Odessa, TX passed from this life on Saturday, December 31, 2016. She was born in Rancho de Urrutia, MX to the late Jesus and Cruz (Renteria) Vega.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her sons: Juan Ortega, Margarito Ortega and Jesus Ortega; daughters: Hortencia Blair, Amada Soto, Trini Sotelo, Teresa Hernandez, Carmela Hernandez and Juany Hernandez; brother: Jose Felix Vega and Jesus Vega; sisters: Mariana Vega and Manuela Vega; 24 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Margarito Ortega; parents; brothers: Esteban, Asuncion, Cruz and Julio Vega and sisters: Maria Felix Vega and Lidia Vega.

Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm, Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Peaceful Gardens section of Ector County Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Jaime Roman Galindo, age 43, of Odessa, TX passed from this life at Medical Center Hospital on Saturday, December 31, 2016. He was born in Ojinaga, MX on Thursday, January 18, 1973 to  the late Simon and Angela (Galindo) Roman. He was a Welder.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his wife: Lisett Roman; sons: Isacc, Jaime Jr., Isaias and Elias Roman; brothers: Venacio, Ruben, Eriberto, Santos Ernesto and Gerardo Roman and sisters: Mary Gamino, Delma Nieto, Armida Roman, Machell Roman, Sivia Roman and Lilana Roman.

Viewing will be held on Monday, January 2, 2017 beginning at 11:00 am at Primera Iglesia Apostolica de La Fe en Cristo Jesus until Tuesday at 9:00 pm. Funeral services will be held in Ojinaga, MX with interment at Composanto Ejido La Esmeralda. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Maria Consuelo (Martinez) Adame, age 68, of Odessa passed from this life at Medical Center Hospital on December 29, 2016. She was born in Eagle Pass, TX on September 15, 1948 to the late Guillermo and Refugio (Rodriguez) Martinez.

Those left to cherish her love and memory are her beloved husband:  Elueterio Adame; two sons:  Jesus Adame and Eleuterio Adame Jr.; daughters:  Agustina Adame and Nancy Adame; brothers: Oliver, Richard and Willie Martinez; sister: Fina Martinez.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter:  Maribel Adame.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at Acres West 24 Hour Funeral Chapel, officiated by Alonso Padilla. Interment will follow at Ector County Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

James Raymond "Jimmie" Herman

James Raymond (Jimmie) Herman was born in Odessa, Texas October 26,1935 to John and Wilma Herman.  He took his last breath December 29, 2016 and stepped into complete healing with Jesus Christ holding his hand.

He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Betty McSpadden Herman, his step-daughter Robin Ann Seale of North Dakota, by David and Arlene Miller of Odessa who he called “his kids”. He is also survived by his step grandchildren Tiffany, Jessica, Codie, 3 step great grandchildren and numerous friends.

Jimmie knew Jesus Christ as his savior and was a member of the Open Door Assembly of God, 3102 E. University Odessa Texas, where his memorial services will be held at 11 o’clock on Saturday, January 7th, 2017. Officiating Jimmie’s services will be his Pastor Leland Hart, and his brother in-law, Pastor Rudy Fambrough of Abilene, Texas.

In lieu of flowers, please send all memorials to the Odessa Agape Center.

Prudencio Polanco, age 92, of Odessa, TX passed from this on Saturday, December 31, 2016.  He was born in Mulato, Mexico to the late Teofilo and Sipriana (Ibarra) Polanco.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his wife: Florentina Polanco of Odessa; sons: Humberto Polanco Taos, NM and Sergio Polanco of Odessa; daughters: Luz Armida Hernandez and Imelda Aragon, both of Odessa; sisters: Elva Baca of Odessa and Cuca Martinez of Marfa; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and  brother: Santos Polanco.

Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm, Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, January 6, 2017 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Interment will follow at the Los Angeles section of Ector County Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

John Alan Morgan

John Alan Morgan, age 49, of Odessa, TX passed from this life on Saturday, December 31, 2016. He was born in Odessa, TX on March 17, 1967 to Clyde Frank and Lola (McDonald) Morgan. He was an Artist and worked for SSP Remodeling for 19 years.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his wife: Shelly Morgan of Odessa; mother: Lola McDonald; son: John M. Blount of Odessa; daughter: Elizabeth Blount of Odessa; brothers: Frank Morgan Jr., Tony McCaslin and Cody McCaslin; sisters: Lora Bloomfield and Melissa Morgan; grandchild: Braysen Blount and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father: Clyde Frank Morgan.
