Leta Batson, age 65, of Odessa, TX passed from this life in Odessa on Friday, March 17, 2017. She was born Thursday, November 10, 1951 in Wisconsin Rapids, WI to Walter and Evelyn (Neumann) Mancil. She worked for ECISD as a custodian for 20 years.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her son: Rodney Kawalec of Odessa, TX;  two brothers: Roger and Cliff Mancil both of WI;  two sisters: Janet Baker and Laura Mancil both of WI and one granddaughter Rebecca Kawalec of Odessa, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Memorial services will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, March 24, 2017 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Billye Joyce Riley

Billye Joyce Riley, age 58, passed from this life at her home in Odessa on Friday, March 17, 2017. She was born in Hobbs, NM on Sunday, July 6, 1958 to the late Bill and Beverly (Lewis) Hampton.  She married John Riley, Jr. in Andrews, TX on September 21, 1972.  Billye was a homemaker, beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her husband of almost 45 years: John Riley, Jr. of Odessa; two sons:  John Riley III  and wife Michelle of Eastland and Billy Don Riley and spouse Matthew Cantu of Killeen; daughter:  Carrie Steiner and husband Mark of Kaysville, UT; brother:  John D. Hampton of Farmington, NM; sisters:  Barbara Harrell of Odessa and Jennie Plale of De Leon; and five grandchildren:  Tyler Riley, Emily, Jason and Christa Steiner, and Jacob Tristan "J.T." Riley Cantu.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.  Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Pastor Dave Adkins.  Interment will follow at Odessa II Garden of Ector County Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Graciela Fuentes Vargas

Graciela Fuentes Vargas, age 62, of Odessa, passed from this life on Friday, March 17, 2017 at Odessa Regional Medical Center.  She was born in Pecos, TX on Saturday, August 21, 1954 to Pedro and Fidela (Ramirez) Fuentes. 

Graciela was a homemaker.  She was a strong, loving and caring grandmother and mother, who went out of her way to help everyone.  She will always be remembered and will live on in our hearts.

Those left to cherish her love and memory are her husband:  Jose Vargas; parents:  Pedro and Fidela Fuentes; daughters:  Anna Escobedo and Vanessa Vargas; six sons:  Anthony Fuentes, Joe Vargas, Jaime Vargas, Ruben Vargas, Leo Vargas, and Rylind Vargas; brother:  Arturo Fuentes; three sisters:  Irma Ramirez, Sandra Hernandez, and Susan Fuentes Wilson; and nineteen grandchildren, all of Odessa.

Rosary will be recited at Acres West Funeral Chapel at 7:00 pm on Tuesday, March 21, 2017.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 1:00 pm at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, officiated by Father Fernando Bonilla.  Interment follows at Odessa II Garden of Ector County Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Shirley Jean Davis

Shirley Jean Davis, age 77, of Odessa, TX, passed from this life at Odessa Regional Medical Center in Odessa on Sunday, March 19, 2017. She was born in Paris, TX on September 16, 1939 to the late Homer and Ruby Grace (Mitchell) Cannon.  Shirley married William "Bill" Davis in Colorado City, TX on July 24, 1957.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her husband of 60 years:  Bill Davis of Odessa; son:  William Dale Davis Jr. and wife Melody of Odessa; daughters:  Kaylene Rodgers and Debbie Moore and fiancée Mikey, all of Odessa; brothers:  Kenneth Edward Cannon of Colleyville, TX and James B. Cannon of Gladewater; sisters:  Kathy Diane Matlock of Colorado City and Dana M. Caldwell of Midland; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Jerry Don Cannon.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at 1st Baptist Church of Odessa, officiated by Dr. Byron McWilliams.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Beatriz (Campos) Rodriguez

Beatriz (Campos) Rodriguez, age 85, of Odessa, TX passed from this life in Odessa on Monday, March 20, 2017. She was born in Presidio, TX on Sunday, December 6, 1931 to Alberto and Dolores (Garcia) Campos.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her sons: Roberto Rodriguez and wife Diana, Sammy Campos and wife Amabelia, Leeroy Rodriguez, Jorge Rodriguez and wife Manuela and Luis Martin Rodriguez; daughters: Dora Rodriguez, Dolores Dominguez and husband Manuel, Carmen Rodriguez, Arcelia Rodriguez, Maria Castillo and husband Mariano and Cathy Cortez and husband Sotero, as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sons: Tomas and Jesus Rodriguez and daughter: Josefina Rodriguez.

Pallbearers will be Larry Rodriguez, Hector Dominguez, Mariano Castillo, Aaron Cortez, Sotero Cortez, Fabian Cortez, Rosendo Dominguez and Manuel Segovia.

Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm, Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 pm, Thursday, March 23, 2017 at St Joseph Catholic Church. Interment will be held at Ector County Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Dalton Ray Sanders 
Dalton Ray Sanders

Dalton Ray Sanders, age 68, of Odessa, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Monday, March 20, 2017. He was born in Knox City, TX on Monday, January 17, 1949 to the late Alvie and Evelyn (Corley) Sanders and married Debra Susan Clayton on March 6, 1970 in Crane.

Affectionately known as “Daddy Ray”, he worked as a physical science teacher in the ECISD for 20 years and was still an active sub at Odessa High. He was a very outspoken man who had a lot of wisdom and was always willing to share. He enjoyed collecting guns and was a member of the NRA, but in later years had decided to stop going hunting.

He was a big rock hound and had received a Major in Geology from UTPB and was very proud of receiving his teaching certificate because his college was completed late in life.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his beloved wife of 47 years: Debra Susan Sanders; daughter: Kara Harkins and husband Brantley; 2 grandchildren: Kailee and Brayson Harkins; sister: Gayle Clanton, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Ray was preceded in death by his parents as well as 2 sisters: Helen Young and Jolene Wallace.

The family will receive visitors Friday, March 24th from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. Services will be held Saturday, March 25th at 10 am at Acres West Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow at Crane Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Veronica Luna de Anzaldua, 50, of Odessa, passed away Monday, March 20, 2017 in Odessa, TX. She was born Thursday, March 2, 1967 to Juan Carlos and Alicia (Alfaro) Luna in Juarez, MX.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her mother: Alicia (Alfaro) Luna of Odessa, TX; two sons: Ernest and Adam Anzaldua both of Odessa, TX; one daughter: Amanda Anzaldua of Odessa, TX; two brothers: Juan Carlos Luna Jr. and Daniel Luna both of Odessa, TX; three sisters: Paty Torres of Midland, TX; Bertha Luna and Jackie Varela both of Odessa, TX and eight grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father: Juan Carlos Luna.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 23, 2017 at Bible Baptist Church with a prayer service at 6:00 pm, Rosary will be held Friday, March 24, 2017 at 7:00 pm at Acres West 24 Hour Funeral Chapel and Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 5:00 pm at Acres West 24 Hour Funeral Chapel. Roy Briones Hernandez, age 63, of Odessa passed from this life at his home on Monday, March 20, 2017.  He was born in Alpine, TX on Monday, May 4, 1953 to Jose Luis and Juanita (Briones) Hernandez.  He married Edelmira Molinar Flores on August 15, 1979 in Odessa.

Roy was a strong man, a fighter to the end, you never heard him complain and he always had a positive outlook.  He was generous and funny, and had a way of making you feel like family.  His doors were always open to all, and he loved animals.  He never met an animal that he couldn't be friends with.  He was a fan of hot rods, Western movies, cowboy clothes and Johnny Cash.

Those left to cherish his love and memory are his wife: Edelmira Hernandez; sons:  Roy Hernandez Jr. and Raymond Hernandez; daughters:  Cindy Hernandez, Maxine McGhee and husband Willie, and Julia Hernandez, all of Odessa, and Belinda Conelly and husband Jerry of San Antonio; sister:  Mary Luz Vasquez of Brownfield; and ten grandchildren.

A prayer service will be held at Acres West Funeral Chapel Thursday evening at 7:00 pm.  Funeral services will be at Crossroads Church at 1:00 pm on Friday, March 24, 2017.  Interment will follow at Ector County Cemetery in the Odessa II Gardens Section.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Wesley “Wes” Roy Bolton, age 75, of Odessa, TX passed from this life in Odessa on Tuesday, March 21, 2017. He was born in Van Zandt County, TX on June 28, 1941.  He was a US Air Force Veteran.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his son: Wesley Mark Slade; daughter: Iva Elaine Slade and spouse Jeffrey Ross; one sister and eight grandchildren.

Services will be held privately by family. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Thomas Walters
Thomas Aquino Walters, Jr.

Thomas Aquino Walters, Jr., age 68, of Odessa, TX passed from this life in Odessa, TX on Wednesday, March 22, 2017. He was born in San Pedro, CA on August 28, 1948 to the late Thomas Aquino Sr. and Ruby Beatrice (Pugh) Walters.

He married Cynthia Duncan in Mexico on November 7, 1964.  He was adoring and attentive to Cynthia and they had a beautiful giving relationship.  Thomas was the backbone of his family; his commitment to them was unfailing and his mentorship was priceless.  A proud and private person, he could be stern, but was also humble, honest and trustworthy.  His family described him as "authentic."  He was very connected to God, the Spirit, body and mind and prayed for the best for his family.  A perfectionist in every way, Thomas enjoyed working with his hands and loved to read and research.  Thomas was an animal lover and was a dog person.  His hobbies included shopping, martial arts and kick boxing.  He appreciated music and loved to dance, but only with Cynthia.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his beloved wife of 53 years: Cynthia Walters; two sons:  Thomas Aquino Walters III and wife Julie of Las Vegas, NV and Richard William Walters of Odessa; and five grandchildren.

Memorial services will be privately held.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.
