Carmen Covarrubias, age 67, of Odessa, TX passed from this life in Odessa on Wednesday, March 22, 2017. She was born in Pecos, TX on May 3, 1949 to the late Secundino O. Lara and Margaret A. Lara.

Carmen was a very good person. She was strong, independent and stubborn. Carmen was a hard worker, she was always working. Carmen enjoyed gardening and loved being with her grandchildren.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her son: Adolfo Covarrubias and wife Brittany; daughters: Margaret Stallord and husband John; brothers: Secundino A. Lara Jr., Abel, Ruben and Ray; sisters: Emma, Virginia and Lupe, as well as 3 grandchildren: Jasmin, Sasha and Savanna.

No services are scheduled. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

David Wayne Hall, age 53, of Odessa, TX passed from this life at Palestine Regional Medical Center on Wednesday, March 22, 2017. He was born in Chili, OH on September 29, 1963 to the late Jarrett Ross and Mary (Thompson) Hall.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his son: Jeramiah David Hall and spouse Amanda Moore of Odessa; daughter: Erica Hall and spouse Joshua Fornash of Odessa; step-mother: Evelyn Clifton of Coshocton, OH; brothers: Charles Hall of Dresden, OH and Darryl Hall of Thorndale, TX; sisters: Jeanie Brown of Smithville, TN, Mona Parello of Fresno, OH and Jerri Rastorfer of Ohio; as well as 5 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Hope Rudd Hall; parents and brothers: Wesley and Jarrett.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 pm, March 28, 2017 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel. 

Daniel Gordon Werline

Daniel Gordon Werline, age 71, of Crane, passed away at the Veteran's Hospital in Big Spring on Thursday, March 23, 2017.  He was born in Scobey, Montana on January 25, 1946.  Daniel was retired and had served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his father:  Stanley Werline of Crane; two sisters:  Verna Lee Smith of North Carolina and Jeanie Sparks of Crane; a bunch of nieces and nephews and a bunch of grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother:  Margaret Gordon Werline and his son:  Martin Lee Werline.

A Celebration of Life will be privately held at the Werline residence.

Services are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel and Crematory of Odessa.

Our little angel, Immanuel Zechariah Prieto Perez was born and whisked away to the arms of Jesus in Odessa on March 23, 2017. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his parents: Robert Christopher Perez and Veronica Alvarado Valerio; siblings: Devon Omar Valerio, Ysabel A. Perez, Gloria C. Perez, Yesenia I. Perez, Gabriella E. Perez, Faith A. Perez, Ezekiel Ch. and Daria  E. Prieto Perez; maternal grandparents: George and Enedina Valerio of Balmorhea; paternal grandfathers: Raul M. Madrid of Chihuahua Mexico and Roberto Ch. Perez of Roswell; great-grandparents: Ysabel S. Prieto and Fransico C. Prieto; aunt Alma Rosa A. Marceleno and husband Terry A. of Odessa, aunt Cynthia A. Valerio and husband Junior Iniguez of Balmorhea, aunt Josephine Y. Perez and aunt Catalina M. Perez and uncle George A. Valerio Jr and wife Stephanie and uncle Leeroy A. Valerio and wife Kristi, both of Odessa; 26 first cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother: Daria Prieto Perez; maternal great-grandparents: Sostenes A. Valerio, Ignacia T. Valerio, Elvira B. Alvarado and Eliser H. Alvarado and paternal great- grandparents: Ysabel S. Prieto and Francisco C. Prieto.

Funeral services will be held at 6:00 pm, Wednesday, March 29, 2017 at Acres West 24 Hour Chapel, officiated by Brother Danny Fitzpatrick. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Susan Marie Henderson, age 69, of Odessa, TX passed from this life in Odessa on Saturday, March 25, 2017. She was born in Odessa, TX on December 17, 1947 to Lloyd Ralph Hill and Rita Mae (Boudreaux) Hill.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her mother: Rita Mae (Boudreaux) Hill of Andrews, TX; sons: Joseph Henderson of Odessa and Justin Henderson of Gardendale; daughters: Shelly Rojo of Mansfield and Connie Marichalar of Keller; brothers: Albert Hill of St. Francisville, LA, Curtis Hill of Andrews, TX and Carl Hill of Pacific, MO; sisters: Joan Gilchrest of Artesia, NM, Betty Hill of Odessa, Kay Middleton of Andrews, Kathy Morgan of Andrews, Donna Hill of Nashville, TN and Laura Hill of Arlington; 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father: Lloyd Ralph Hill; sister: Christine Butler and one granddaughter.

Family visitation will be held from 5-9:00 pm, Monday, March 28, 2017 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at the Odessa Garden section of Ector County Cemetery, officiated by Larry Hood. Perfecto Puente, 79, of Odessa passed away, Sunday, March 26, 2017 in Odessa. He was born Wednesday, July 23, 1937 in Mexico to Francisco and Angelita (Salazar) Puente.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his three sons: Perfecto Puente Jr and spouse Lilia of Odessa, TX, Francisco Puente and spouse Lorena of MX, and Ricardo Puente of Midland, TX; three daughters: Maria Puente of Midland, TX, Blanca Puente and spouse Oscar Marquez of Odessa, TX, and Sonia Puente and spouse Raul Ruiz of Midland, TX; two sisters: Juanita Puente of San Antonio, TX and Hilda Puente of Laredo, TX; twenty-five grandchildren and forty-seven great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife: Rosa Partida Puente; three brothers: Raul, Francisco and Pedro Puente; and one sister: Gloria Puente.

Rosary will be recited at Acres West Funeral Chapel in Odessa at 7:00 pm on Thursday, March 30, 2017.  Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am Friday, March 31, 2017 at St. Stephens Catholic Church in Midland, TX with interment to follow at Serenity Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Steven Adam Gonzales took his precious life at the age of 24, on Saturday, March 25, 2017. He was born in San Jose, CA on Saturday, January 23, 1993 to Guadalupe Gonzales, Jr. and Cindy Mary (Williams) Gonzales.

Steven is survived by two kids, one precious beautiful daughter: Annabelle Envy Gonzales and a very handsome son: Fabian Cruzito Casanova Brito and their mother Gabriella Brito; a very beautiful wonderful fiancé: Carole McCutcheon; his parents: Guadalupe Gonzales, Jr. and Cindy Mary Gonzales; one brother: Guadalupe Gonzales III; one sister: Amanda Marie Gonzales; three nephews: Charles Faustino Gonzales, Jerry  and Javion; one niece: Serenity Lea Linda Peralta; a beautiful grandmother; Josephine Gonzales; seven aunts: Jennifer Gonzales, Sandra Gonzales, Esther Gonzales, Charlene Williams, Sandra Casares, Christine Servantes and Erminda Gonzales; three uncles: Richard Gonzales, Concho and Charles Williams; and many cousins, Juggalo family and homies.

Viewing will start at 9:00 am, Saturday, April 1, 2017. Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm, Monday, April 3, 2017 at Acres West Funeral Chapel and Funeral services will be 1:00 pm, Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West.

Yraelio Martinez Naranjo

Yraelio Martinez Naranjo, age 69, of Odessa, passed away at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa on Monday, March 28, 2017.  He was born in Cuba on October 12, 1947 to Antonio Martinez Toro and Hacenta Naranjo and immigrated to America in 1980.  He was a valued employee at Ervin Plumbing for 22 years.

He leaves behind his family of coworkers at Ervin Plumbing.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 am on Friday, March 31, 2017 at Odessa II Section, Ector County Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Doug Herget.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

We send a special "Thank you!," to Tera and Lupe and Crossland Care, Dr. Ramanathan and his staff, and to the doctors and nurses at Medical Center Hospital.

Lillian Maude Wescott Stains

Lillian Maude Wescott Stains went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at the age of 71. She was born in Seminole, TX on September 28, 1945 to the late Ivory and Lula May (Carr) Wescott.  She graduated from Seminole High School, class of 1964.  Maude attended McMurry University in Abilene.  She enlisted in the US Air Force and served from 1973 to 1975, then traveled with her husband and family until moving to Odessa in 1979.  Maude obtained her degree from UTPB in 1982 and spent over 25 years as a teacher and librarian with ECISD.  She was beloved by her students.

Maude was preceded in death by her parents:  Ivory and Lula May Wescott; her sisters:  Johnye Wescott Walker and Lou Wescott Tilley; and grandchildren:  Caleb James Aguero and Joshua Aguero.

Survivors are her beloved husband: Rick Stains of Cibolo, TX; sister:  Sue Wescott of Austin, TX; brother:  Claude Wescott and wife Cindy Wescott of Las Cruces, NM; daughter:  Cheri Aguero and husband Oscar Aguero of Marfa, TX; son: Jimmy Stains of Cibolo, TX; son:  Wally Stains of Universal City, TX; grandchildren:  Jayce Stains, Christopher Aguero, John Aguero, and Lily Aguero; and great-grandson: Dallas Aguero.

The family will receive friends on Friday, March 31, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be Saturday, April 1, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Asbury United Methodist Church in Odessa, TX with Pastor Matthew Gary officiating. Graveside services with military honors will follow at 4:30 pm at Gaines County Memorial Cemetery in Seminole, TX.

Patricia Adell "Patty" Stevens

Patricia Adell "Patty" Stevens, age 74, of Odessa, TX passed from this life at Medical Center Hospital on Wednesday, March 29, 2017. She was born in South Hampton, Long Island, NY on Sunday, April 12, 1942 to the late Helen (Warner) Stevens and Ralph Stevens, Jr.  Patty was retired and formerly worked as a manager for Lowe's Grocery Stores.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her sons:  Michael Nighswonger and David Nighswonger, both of Odessa; brothers:  Ralph Stevens, Jr. and Russel Stevens, both of Jacksonville, FL; and three grandchildren:  Megan Nighswonger of Surprise, AZ, Julia Nighswonger of Odessa, and Savannah Nighswonger of Abilene.

Memorial services will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.
