Antonio Olivas

Antonio Isai Olivas, age 16, of Mexico, passed from this life in Fort Worth on Tuesday, April 18, 2017. He was born in Odessa, TX on Friday, June 30, 2000 to Sandra Veronica (Castillo) Olivas.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his mother: Sandra Veronica Olivas; grandparents: Ester Castillo Martinez and Margarito Olivas Porras; sisters: Alejandra Leyva and Alexa Layva; aunts: Armida Arroyo and husband Angel and Ruth Munoz and husband Erik.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday April 21, 2017 at Templo Betel, officiated by Ausena Jimenez. Burial will follow at the Odessa Garden II section of Ector County Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel. 

James P Teal  Jim Teal
James P. “Jim” Teal
James P. “Chance” Teal, age 74, of Odessa, TX, passed from this life on Wednesday, April 19, 2017. He was born in Holmes County, Fl on December 5, 1942 to the late James and Mabie Clara (Pruett) Teal.

Jim served in the National Guard. Jim was a cowboy and toured rodeo circuits, winning numerous belt buckles and bull riding all over the US and Mexico. He owned Teal and Teal Trucking and him and his wife Betty Lou traveled many miles together, known on their CB handle as the “Texas Twins”. Later Jim went to become a land developer and owned Rocking Bar 7 Ranch Estates, J-T Ranch and J-T Stables.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his son: James G. Teal and wife Starla of Bovill, ID; brother: Henry Teal and wife Pam of Ponce de Leon, FL and one grandson: Jesse Teal and wife Amanda.

He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved wife: Betty Lou (Pitman) Teal.

Graveside services will be held at 4:00 pm, Saturday, April 22, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Edith Rios, age 38, of Odessa, TX, passed from this life on Thursday, April 20, 2017. She was born in Andrews, TX on Tuesday, September 26, 1978 to the late Gonzalo and Florentina (Renteria) Amesquita.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her loving husband: Patrick Rios; sons: Eleazar and Patrick Rios Jr.; daughters: Ires and Natalie Rios; brothers: Jesse, Gonzalo Jr., Ramon, Efren, Victor, Ruben and Jorge Amesquita; sisters: Paula Molina and Cruz Amesquita; mother-in-law: Josefina Rios, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother: Jose “Joe” and sister: Mary Oñate.

Anna Elizabeth "Beth" Brice

Anna Elizabeth "Beth" Brice, age 83, of Odessa, TX, passed from this life on Friday, April 21, 2017. She was born in Robert Lee, TX on Saturday, January 13, 1934 to the late George and Carrie (Plumlee) King.

Beth was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed bowling and working crosswords and puzzles. Beth was a volunteer firefighter in south Ector County for several years. She will be missed dearly.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her daughters: Linda Scott (Ben), Ann Bedrick (Eddie), Georgia Collier (Steve), Jackie Brice and Christy McKinley; as well as 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Charles Brice; parents; brothers: Earl and Alvin King; grandchildren: Shannon Waldrep, Mychelle Woodard and Luke McKinley and great-great grandchild: Dustyn Wright.

Family visitation will be held from 6-8 pm, Monday, April 24, 2017. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Mike Bartlett. Burial will follow at the Rosehill section of Ector County Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Joe Rey Mora Nunez, age 53, of Odessa, TX passed from this life on Saturday, April 22, 2017 in Odessa. He was born in Pecos, TX on January 17, 1964 to Joe Nunez and Ramona Jimenez.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his parents: Enrique and Ramona Jimenez; sisters: Diana Fuentez, Angie Nunez, and Nora Gonzalez; brother:  Carlos Jimenez; nephews: Anthony Fuentez, Adam Minjarez Jr., Hector Jasso, Israel Jasso, Timothy Jasso and Leonardo Jasso; niece: Amy Jasso.

He was preceded in death by his father: Joe Nunez, nephew: Adam Minjarez and niece:  Ramona Vidales.

A prayer service will be held Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday evening at 7:30 pm in the 24 Hour Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, April 27, 2017 at Acres West 24 Hour Funeral Chapel, officiated by Pastor Jose Morales. Burial will follow at the Odessa Garden II section of Ector County Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Sergio Barron, age 64, of Odessa, TX, passed from this life on Saturday, April 22, 2017. He was born in Mexico City, D.F. on October 7, 1952 to Juana Barron.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his sons: Sergio R. Barron and wife Cindy of Odessa and Juan A. Barron of Colorado; daughter: Jesus B. Hughes and husband Jorge of Odessa; as well as 6 grandchildren: Adrian Barron, Jordan Bennett, Michael Bennett, Joaquin Barron, Brenda Hughes and Annabelle Hughes.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife: Gloria Barron.

Armando S. Marquez, age 67, of Odessa, TX, passed from this life on Saturday, April 22, 2017 in Odessa. He was born in Ojinaga, MX on February 23, 1950 to Casmiro and Jesus (Sanchez) Marquez.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his sons, Jorge and Edgar Marquez; daughters, Irma, Isabel and Iseala Marquez; brothers, Carlos, Reynaldo, and Ismael Marquez; sisters, Esther Alvarado and Yimelda Ybarra; 13 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

The Rosary will be recited Tuesday, April 25, 2017 7:00 pm at Acres West Funeral Chapel. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 10:00 am at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church followed by interment at the Odessa II section of Ector County Cemetery. Maria Lopez, age 72, of Odessa, TX, passed from this life on Thursday, April 27, 2017. She was born in Acuña, Mexico on Friday, October 27, 1944 to the late Nolberto and Juanita (Rocha) Ortiz.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her beloved husband: Daniel C. Lopez of Odessa; son: Daniel O. Lopez and wife Laura of Odessa; brother: Pancho Ortiz of Rocksprings, TX; sister: Carmen Coronado of Rocksprings, TX and 2 grandchildren: Freddy Young and wife Jessie of Odessa and Alejandro Daniel Lopez of Odessa.

Family visitation will be held from 3-9:00 pm, Friday, April 28, 2017 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. The rosary will be recited Friday at 7:00 pm.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Donnie Jack Ottaberry, Jr.

Donnie Jack Ottaberry, Jr. age 63, of Gardendale, passed from this life on Friday, April 28, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.  He began his earthly journey on December 16, 1953 in Waco, TX, born to Donnie Ottaberry Sr. and Nina Ruth (Wallis) Ottaberry.  Donnie married Paula Renea Ward in Monahans, TX on February 26,1980 and they had recently celebrated 37 years of marriage.  He worked as a truck supervisor and rig mover for Hooper Trucking in Odessa.

Those left to cherish his love and memory are his wife:  Paula Ottaberry of Gardendale; son:  Donnie Ottaberry III and wife Kimber of Andrews; three daughters:  Ashley Jones and husband Steve of Andrews, Natasha Sullivan and Sandy of Bronte, and Darlene Womack of Odessa; sisters:  Devonna Songer and husband Rusty of Midland and Devanna Likes and husband David of Hobbs, NM; fifteen grandchildren:  Karrington, Kenedy, Caleb, Kourtnee, Avery, Riley, Jordan and Ashlee, Jarrod, Jayden, Trent, Tiffani, Hannah, Morgan, Nathan and Lesli; three great-grandchildren:  Kasin, Annalee, and Brantlee; one great-grandson on the way:  Bentlee Jack; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister:  Debra Ewbank.

Memorial services will be at 6:00 pm on Monday, May 1, 2017 at the West Texas Cowboy Church on Highway 158 in Gardendale.

Raymundo Martinez Arenivas

Raymundo Martinez Arenivas, age 64, of Odessa, TX, passed from this life on Monday, May 1, 2017. He was born in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico on Saturday May 2, 1952 to the late Crispin and Gregoria Arenivas.  He married Edelmira Gonzalez in Ojinaga on February 23, 1974.  Raymundo worked in industrial installation.  He fought a long battle with cancer, strong as his roosters fight.  Although he lost the battle at the end, he never lost his passion.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his wife:  Edelmira Arenivas of Odessa; sons:  Ivan and Ivis Arenivas; daughter: Vanessa Lopez; brother:  Israel Arenivas; ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his siblings:  Armando and Lupe.

Visitation begins at noon on Wednesday, May 3, 2017.  Funeral services will be at 10:00 am Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Acres West 24 Hour Chapel, officiated by Deacon Manuel Luevano.
