Beverly (Pearson) Kasparek

Beverly (Pearson) Kasparek, age 75, of Odessa, TX, passed from this life on Saturday, April 29, 2017. She was born at Fort Bliss in El Paso, TX on Saturday, December 6, 1941 to the late Cecil Pearson and Deverne Jackson.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her sons: Jerome and Kelly; daughters: Cindy and Lisa; brother: David; sisters: Karen, Becky and Celia; as well as 8 grandchildren: Nicole, Christina, Preston, Cassi, Elisha, Joshua, Danielle and Ian, followed by 7 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Friday, May 5, 2017 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Elvis Allen Hackworth II

Elvis Allen Hackworth II, age 58, of Odessa passed away Saturday, April 29, 2017.  He was born in Odessa on August 30, 1958 to Elvis Allen and Carrie Ellen (Commander) Hackworth.  Elvis married Lisa Ann Story in Odessa February 28, 1981.  He was a welder.

Elvis is survived by his wife:  Lisa Hackworth of Odessa; father: Elvis Hackworth of Odessa, daughters: Leigh Ann Meador, Noee Hackworth, Chloe Hackworth, Linda Hackworth, and Lisa Marichalar of Odessa, Chastity Robertson of Midland, sons: John Hackworth, Isaiah Hackworth, and Christopher Chavez of Odessa, his grandchildren: Rihannon Meador, Lillean Meador, Jeremy Meador Jr., Isabella Meador, Pandora Meador, Rowan Meador, Ian Hackworth, Dutchess Marichalar, Judah Marichilar, Jagger Robertson, Maximus Robertson, Ellie Mae Robertson, Chano Chavez, King Chavez, Chris Chavez Jr., his sisters and his brother.

He is preceded in death by his mother Carrie Hackworth and grandson Seamus Allynn.

Private services will be held. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Baby Monty Alcarez
Monty Reed Alcaraz

Our little angel, Monty Reed Alcaraz was born and whisked away to the arms of Jesus in Odessa on Sunday evening, April 30, 2017.  Although only in this world for 10 short minutes, his memory lives on in our hearts for eternity.

Those left to await a Heavenly reunion are his parents: Tommy and Samantha Alcaraz; maternal grandparents:  Karen Courtney and Chris and Dona Reed; paternal grandmother:  Francisca Escarsega Garcia; brothers:  Tommy Alcaraz Jr. and Joshua Alcaraz; and sister:  Makayla Alcaraz.

Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Melvin D Handy
Melvin Derrald Handy

Melvin Derrald Handy, age 81, of Odessa, passed away at Madison Medical Resort on Monday, May 1, 2017.  He was born in Royalty, TX on November 14, 1935 to the late Manley Hayden Handy and Zertha Bay (Klock) Handy.  Melvin was a plumber and owned and operated Handy's Plumbing for 20 years.  He was also a US Marine Veteran.

Those left to cherish his love and memory are his sons: Mike Handy and wife La Donna of Odessa and Steven Handy and wife Julie of Roswell, NM; sisters:  Vida Meyer of Odessa and Manetta Brown of Phoenix, AZ; five grandchildren:  Genene, Reese, Michael, Brooke and Bradley; and ten great-grandchildren.

His parents and his brother, Manley Handy, precede him in death.

Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm on Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Acres West Funeral Chapel in Odessa, officiated by Rev. Jimmy Braswell.  Interment with military honors will follow in Grandfalls, TX at Tamarisk Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

 
Maxi M de Lujan
Maximiana Martinez de Lujan

Maximiana Martinez de Lujan, age 84 of Odessa, passed away at Medical Center Hospital on Tuesday, May 2, 2017.  She was born in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico to Maria Martinez on April 2, 1933. Maxi was a homemaker.

She is preceded in death by her mother:  Maria Martinez; husband:  Juan Rios Lujan; and one son:  Johnny Lujan.

Nine children survive her.  They are Jimmy Lujan of Sherman, Auden Lujan, Manuela Navarrette, Bertha Navarrette and Gloria Lujan, all of Odessa, Tina Lujan of Midland, Corrina Navarrette of Pecos, and Lorena Lujan and Elsa Padilla, both of Odessa.  Maxi is also survived by her siblings: Catarina Martinez, Ramona Lucero Lucero, Santana Lucero, Fidel Lucero, Crescencio Lucero, Gorgonio Lucero and Victoriano Lucero; and 24 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren, and 14 great-great grandchildren.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm on Sunday evening, May 7, 2017 at Acres West Funeral Chapel.  Funeral services will be at Acres West as well at 10:00 am on Monday, May 8, 2017.  Interment follows at Rose Hill Gardens Section of Ector County Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Tommy Edward Good

Tommy Edward Good, age 70, of Odessa, TX, passed from this life on Wednesday, May 3, 2017. He was born in Levelland, TX on May 18, 1946 to the late Stanley and Willie Dee (Musgrave) Good. Tommy was a Special Education teacher for 24 years.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his mother: Willie Dee Good; son: Nekoda Good and wife Tabrina of Bokoshe, OK; daughters: Dosha Furr and husband Gary of Pickens, OK and Natasha Lowe and husband Matthew of Spiro, OK, and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father: Stanley Good.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm, Friday, May 5, 2017 at Grandview Church of God. Burial will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, May 6, 2017 at the City of Levelland Cemetery in Levelland, TX. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel of Odessa.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Grandview Church of God Missions Department.

Yolanda Valdez, age 32, of Odessa, passed from this life and into eternity on Friday, May 5, 2017.  She was born in Whitney, TX on Sunday, September 30, 1984 to Emilio Valdez and Elda Perez.

Those left to cherish her love and memory are her sons: Eric Gabriel, Mendoza and Steven Mendoza Jr., all of Odessa; daughters: Rosemary Mendoza, Angel Leanna Valenzuela and Raelynn Isabel Santalena Vasquez, all of Odessa; brother: Johnny Valdez and sisters: Margarita Rios, Sophelia Valdez, Emilia Valdez and Chriselda Perez.

She was preceded in death by her son: Caden Mendoza.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, May 8, 2017 at First Baptist Church. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Criselda Nabarrette

Criselda Nabarrette,  age 40, of Odessa, TX, passed from this life on May 6, 2017. She was born in Odessa, TX  on August 24, 1976 to the late Joseph Jernigan and Estella Nabarrette. She was a bus driver for ECISD for 5 years.

My mother loved to wake up and always look her best for every occasion. She enjoyed reading her Bible and drinking coffee. Crissy loved to dance and make people laugh. She had a big heart and always had a smile on her face.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her sons: Joshua Anthony Nabarrette, Luis Enrique Nabarrette, Timothy Aaron Nabarrette and Jonah Reigh Nabarrette; brother: Mack Jernigan, Michelle Curry; as well as 2 grandchildren: Yamira Joyce Nabarrette and Ya'naida Vanice Nabarrette.

Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm, Monday, May 8, 2017 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at Manna for Life Ministries, 1312 S. Christopher Lujan

Christopher Lujan, age 20, of Odessa, TX, passed from this life on Saturday, May 6, 2017. He was born in Odessa, TX on December 14, 1996 to Elizabeth Lujan.

Lil Chris was very kind, caring and loved everyone. He was always asking if everyone was ok. Lil Chris stayed positive and cherished being around his family. He enjoyed playing video games and even though he was sick, Lil Chris always had a smile and high spirits.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his mother: Elizabeth Lujan; uncles: Miguel Porras (Sylvia) and Jose Lujan Jr.; aunt: Sandra Lujan; brothers: Jose Rene Lujan, Cesario Juarez and Eliseo Navarrette; sister: Desiree Nichole Galindo and girlfriend: Vivica Lopez.

He was preceded in death by his uncle: Willie Lujan.

Louis Martin Hall

Louis Martin Hall, age 79, of Odessa passed from this life at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa on Sunday, May 7, 2017.  He was born in Pittsburg, TX on December 6, 1937 to the late Earl Martin and Ruth Allen     (Smith) Hall.  He served in the US Navy.  Following his service, he married Dorothy Rowe in Pittsburg, TX on May 3, 1960.

Those left to cherish his love and memory are his wife:  Dorothy Hall of Odessa; three daughters:  Patricia Ann Hagman of Odessa, Janice Ann Hillyer and husband Rick of Colorado, and Florence Marie Lesly and husband Tommy of Odessa; sisters:  Annie Marie Farley, Dorothy McClain, JoAnn Shurtleft, and Ruby Pate; seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

Louis is preceded in death by his parents; one son:  John Martin Hall; his brother:  Roby Smith Jr. and sisters:  Peggy Pate and Glenda Smith.

Graveside services with military honors are scheduled for Wednesday morning, May 10, 2017, at 10:00 am at Odessa Gardens II Section of Ector County Cemetery, officiated by Pastor Carrie Stanton.  Services are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Ethel K Roberts King
Ethel Kay Roberts King

Ethel Kay Roberts King, age 83, of Odessa, TX, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 7, 2017. Ethel came into this world on Sunday, March 4, 1934 to the late Guy and Alma (Embler) Roberts of Asheville, NC.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her sister: Juanita Sprouse of Asheville, NC; daughter: Donna Sapp of Albuquerque, NM; son: James Sapp and wife Yolanda of San Antonio, TX; daughter: Diana White and husband James of Odessa, TX; daughter: Vickie King and Greg Staats of Ft. Worth, TX; as well as 14 wonderful grandchildren, their spouses and so many great-grandchildren.

The family would like to thank the entire staff at Terrace West Nursing and Rehab and Star Care Hospice for the exceptional love and care they gave.

Graveside services will be held at 4:00 pm, Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.
