Claire Crosby Pratt

Claire Crosby Pratt, age 89, of Odessa, passed away at her home on Wednesday, May 17, 2017.  She was born in Ayre, MA on June 12, 1927 to the late Clarence and Salome Leticia (Barteau) Crosby.  Claire married Francis Gowdy Pratt on October 17, 1945.  She was a homemaker, a caregiver, and a nurse's aide.

She is survived by her husband:  Francis Pratt; three sons:  Earl Pratt, Randy Pratt and Jay Pratt; and daughter:  Alice Brown, all of Odessa.  Two grandchildren, Chris and Jeannie, also survive her, as well as three great-grandchildren:  A.J., Kerry, and Angel.

Claire is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, and one grandson:  Francis "Franny". 

Memorial services will be at a later date.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Gustavo Mendoza Sr.

Gustavo Mendoza Sr., age 98, of Odessa, TX passed from this life on Thursday, May 18, 2017. He was born in Candelaria, TX on Thursday, June 13, 1918 to the late Nestor and Francisca (Sanchez) Mendoza.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his beloved wife: Paula Mendoza; sons: Gustavo and Sergio Mendoza; daughters: Rosa Madrid, Bertha Garcia and Maria Perez; brother: Jesus Mendoza and sister: Antonia Mendoza, as well as 17 grandchildren, 38 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister: Cruz Garcia.

Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm, Sunday, May 21, 2017 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, May 22, 2017 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Los Angeles section of Ector County Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Aurelia Montanez Rodriguez, age 76, of Midland, TX passed from this life on Saturday, May 20, 2017. She was born in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico on November 12, 1940 to the late Guadalupe and Elisa (Rodriguez) Montanez.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her sons: Oscar Rafael Mata Montanez (Martha Leyva) and Jose Luis Mata Montanez; daughter: Martha Leticia Rodea (Martin); brothers: Hipolito Montanez , Benjamin Montanez and Jose Montanez; sisters: Guadalupe and Manuela Montanez; 11 grandchildren: Oscar Mata Leyva, Ilse Mata, Itzel Mata, Iskra Mata, Krisma Mata, Krisol Rodea, Martin Rodea Jr., Kaylen Rodea, Froilan Mata, Omar Mata and Itzamara Mata and 13 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings: Consuelo, Ester, Rosa, Hilario, Carlos and Jesus Montanez.

Services will be held at a later date in Mexico. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Truman A Wagoner
Truman Aaron Wagoner

Truman Aaron Wagoner of Odessa, TX departed this life on Tuesday, May 23, 2017. Truman was born in Hamilton, Ohio on June 14, 1946. Truman went to school at Sullivan Indiana where he excelled in all sports, especially football. He married his High School sweetheart and love of his life Joyce Anita Wagoner on December 11, 1964. They were soul mates who shared 51 years of marriage with one another. Amongst the many accomplishments in his life, he was a Veteran in the Vietnam War and proudly served his country in the United States Navy.

He was preceded in death by his mother and father: Roger and Mari Wagoner; daughter: Teresa Dawn Wagoner; sister: Carrie Stockburger and nephew: Moury Stockburger.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved by his adoring family:  his wife and best friend: Joyce Anita Wagoner; daughters: Tracie Noel Nicks and Turlaina Annette Franklin and their husbands Bryan Lynn Nicks and Roger Earl Franklin, as well as his many grandchildren: David Hugh Coats, Anita Faye Franklin, Ryan Earl Franklin, Garrett Lynn Nicks and Ashley Leighann Franklin and great-grandson: Caleb Allen Coats.

His family was his whole world and he was theirs. His smile was contagious and his laughter was infectious. You couldn’t help but to smile when he was around. He touched and impacted the lives of so many people and he will be missed and loved forever and always.

Services will be held privately by the family. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Harold Dean McLean

Harold Dean McLean, age 80, of Odessa, TX passed from this life on Tuesday, May 23, 2017. He was born in Deerfield, Missouri on October 14, 1936 to the late Emil McLean and Helen Johnson. He was a veteran of the US Army and had been a foreman in the oilfield.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his son:  Thomas "Tom" McLean of Odessa; and two grandchildren:  Kelsie Annell McLean and Joseph Matthew Thomas McLean.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife:  Hannalore Hedwigemma (Brockoff) McLean, one son:  Kevin McLean; and two brothers:  Glen Ray McLean and Dewey McLean.

Services will be privately held.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Francisco Montes Barriga Jr. of Odessa, TX, passed from this life on Wednesday, May 24, 2017. He was born in Presidio, TX on October 24, 1950 to the late Francisco and Socorro (Montes) Barriga Sr.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his wife: Theresa Viscaino; sons: Joe Frank Barriga and Benjamin Muniz; daughters: Veronica Armendariz, Elizabeth Corrales and Jessica Barriga; mother: Socorro Barriga; brothers: Eliseo Barriga, Zeke Barriga, Armando Barriga, Mario Barriga, Oscar Barriga and Ivan Barriga; sisters: Socorro Sotelo, Lorena Barriga and Ninfa Barriga, as well as 17 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Jesusita Barriga; father: Francisco Barriga Sr.; brother: Jose Barriga; sister: Georgina Barriga and great-grandchild: Aiden Francisco Leyva.

Family visitation will be held daily from 9:00 am to 12 midnight. Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm, Monday, May 29, 2017 at Acres West 24 Hour Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Burial will be held at the Los Angeles section of Ector County Cemetery. Judy Helen Webster Edwards

Judy Helen Webster Edwards, 75, of Odessa, passed away Thursday, May 25, 2017 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa. She was born Sunday, September 21, 1941 in Merkel, TX to John Charles and Anna Irene (Salter) Webster.  As a small child, Judy lived in Houston, then moved to Jal, NM where she attended school.  She graduated from Jal High School in 1959.  Judy and Tommy met in 1976 and married February 7, 1976 in Juarez, Mexico.  They enjoyed almost 42 years together.  She had retired from working for Bank One (Chase).

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her husband:  Tommy Edwards of Odessa; three sons:  Michael Allen Lane, Randall Wade Lane and wife Cindy, and Philip Todd Lane and wife Holly, all of Odessa; sister:  Annabeth Cavett; and grandchildren:  Monica Lane, Randall Lane II, Tessa Lane, Jessi Ogden, and Daniel Stephens and great-grandchildren:  Leilani Rose Lane, Xane Ogden, and Xaedyn Ogden.

She was preceded in death by her parents:  Irene and J.C. Webster; grandparents:  S.R. and Eliza Webster and Jesse and Maude Salter; and her brother:  Jerry Wade Webster.

Memorial services will be at Faith Church of the Nazarene, 3501 N. Golder, on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at 10:00 am, officiated by Pastor Gary Reiswig.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Basil Medrith Boatwright Jr., age 59, of Midland, TX, passed from this life on Thursday, May 25, 2017. He was born in Snyder, TX on August 23, 1957 to Basil Medrith and Maxine Boatwright Sr.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his sons: Brian Cox of Midland, TX; sister: Della King of San Angelo, TX and 2 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents and brother: Nathan R. Boatwright.
