Bonifacia Nieto de Dominguez, 63, of Odessa, TX, passed from this life on Thursday, July 27, 2017. She was born in Cuchillo Parado, Chihuahua, Mexico on Friday, May 14, 1954 to the late Perfecto and Guillerma (Padilla) Nieto.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her beloved husband: Lorenzo Dominguez; sons: Lorenzo Dominguez (Olivia), Rafael Dominguez (Angelita) and Carlos Dominguez (Erica); brother: Ramon Nieto (Luvimi); sisters: Anna Maria (Roberto), Savina Garcia, Guillerma Garcia, Imelda Espinoza (Beto) and Claudia Martinez (Jose); as well as 14 grandchildren: Eddy Bejarano (Carmen), Amber, Josiah, Rafael Jr., Andres, Nally, and Neida Elena, Ruben, Vicente and Laila Dominguez, Eddie, Elysia, Evelyn and Eric Cantu and great-grandchildren: Isabella and Elias Bejarano.

Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm, Sunday, July 30, 2017 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, July 31, 2017 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Burial will be held at the Odessa Garden II section of Ector County Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Juan Gomez Martinez Sr.

Juan Gomez Martinez Sr., age 79, of Marfa, TX passed from this life on Friday, July 28, 2017 in Alpine, TX. He was born in Vado de Piedra, Chihuahua, Mexico to the late Trinidad Gomez Martinez. He married Rita Tarrango on October 27, 1962 in Balmorhea, TX.

Juan was also known to his family and friends as “Johnny”. He was a wonderful hard-working family man. Johnny attended school at Saint Mary’s and Blackwell in Marfa, TX, as well as in Valentine, TX. He married Rita Tarango Martinez of Candelaria, TX in 1962. Juan worked as a migrant worker for many years before making the move to Marfa and establishing his home with his wife and children. He was a gas station attendant for many years until he was physically unable to do so. Juan loved gathering all his family together and hearing his sons play music. Everyone that came in contact with him fell in love with the type of person he was. Never did any of our family hear anything bad about who he was in the past or in the present. I believe that I speak for all family and friends. Juan will be dearly missed, but never forgotten.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his beloved wife of 55 years: Rita Martinez; three sons: Noel Martinez of Lubbock, TX, Juan T. Martinez Jr. of Marfa, TX and David T. Martinez of Marfa, TX; two daughters: Martina Mendoza of Odessa, TX and Nancy Garcia of Marfa, TX; as well as 26 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm, Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Marfa, TX. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marfa, TX. Burial will follow at Cementerio de la Merced in Marfa, TX. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel. 

James Brown 2017
James Robinson (Rob) Brown

James Robinson (Rob) Brown was born in Muskogee, OK on September 24, 1909 to George R. Brown and Mittie Uhls Brown. He had one sister, Margaret and four brothers: Phil, George, Millar and Maurice.

The family eventually moved to Longview, TX, where his father owned and operated a laundry and dry cleaning service. Rob worked there for several years as head of the dry cleaning department. Rob married his wife Margaret McNaughton (deceased) of Longview, TX, before World War II began. He served in Co. E 184th Infantry. Rob participated in the invasion of Okinawa. His decorations and citations include Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with 3 Bronze Stars, Philippine Liberation, World War II Victory Medal, American Theater Campaign Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. Soon after his military service ended, he settled in San Francisco. After various jobs there, he moved to Dallas and opened up his own dry cleaning business. After his retirement, he moved to New Orleans and San Francisco for several years. Rob enjoyed traveling and made several trips to England. He finally settled in Odessa, TX to be near his brother.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his brother: Maurice Brown of Odessa, TX; nephew: Mark Brown; nieces: Suzanne of Odessa, TX, Sarah of Atlanta, GA and Georgeanna of Ft. Worth, TX; and grand-nephews: Alex and Michael of Odessa, TX

Eleanor “Kay” Griffin, age 76, of Odessa, TX passed from this life on July 30, 2017. She was born in Lamesa, TX on February 17, 1941 to the late Homer "H.M." Scott Jr. and Julie Jane (Stotts) Scott.  Kay was a licensed vocational nurse.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her daughter: Lyla Morris and husband James of Odessa; son: Scott Griffin of Odessa; her brother:  Don Scott of San Angelo; sister:  Joy Zas of Albuquerque, NM; and two beloved grandchildren:  Lily and Kael.

Memorial services will be at 10:00 am on Friday, August 4, 2017 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Pastor Toby Clements.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Lora May McDonald, age 72, of Odessa, TX passed from this life on Monday, July 31, 2017. She was born in Edgewood, TX on January 15, 1945 to the late A. J. and Lora (Crimm) McDonald.  She worked at a dog groomer.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her sons:  Clyde Frank Morgan and Jerrell John "J.J." Bloomfield; daughters:  Melissa Morgan and Lora Bloomfield; brother:  Johnny "Junior" Hubnick; sisters:  Johnnie Kay Rosato and Maxine Headrick; fifteen grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son:  John Allen Morgan; and brother:  Jimmy McDonald.

Memorial services will be at Full Gospel River of Life Church at 6:00 pm on Saturday, August 5, 2017, officiated by Pastor Don Heatherington.

Dolores Rodriguez Ramirez

Dolores Rodriguez Ramirez, age 80, of Odessa, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, July 31, 2017.  She was born in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico on Thursday, January 28, 1937 to Francisco and Manuela (Sotelo) Rodriguez.  She married Samuel Ramirez in 1960 in Mexico.  They were loving parents to five children.

Dolores is survived and will be dearly missed by her husband:  Samuel Ramirez of Odessa; daughter: Luz Ramirez; sons:  Willie Ramirez and wife Maricela, Maurilio Ramirez and wife Amalia, Samuel Ramirez and wife Lucy, Jr. and Hugo Ramirez and wife Pamela; as well as fifteen grandchildren and twenty-four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, her siblings all preceded her in death.

Rosary will be recited at Acres West Funeral Chapel Thursday evening at 7:00 pm.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Friday, August 4, 2017 at 1:00 pm, officiated by Fr. Anthony Bala.  Interment follows at Odessa Garden II of Ector County Cemetery.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Celebramos la vida de Dolores Rodriguez Ramirez. Quienes la conocían como Lola. Su vida empezó en un jueves el 28 de Enero 1937. Su historia de amor empezó el día que llego Samuel Ramirez por ella en su caballo para llevársela antes de que la comprometieran con alguien más. Él le robo el corazón, su príncipe azul en vida real. Fueron bendecidos 57 años de matrimonio en donde Dios les concedió cinco hijos. Ella era una gran señora, madre incomparable y humildemente amiga de todos, su corazón no tenía límites, brindando alegría, compasión, y atención al mundo. Su caridad y nobleza llegaron a tocar el alma de todos quienes tuvieron la dicha de conocerla. Gozaba en atender, alimentar y proteger a todos quienes la amaban. Aunque la extrañaremos mucho, Dios a recogido un verdadero ángel para el cielo.

Tami Margaret Toler, age 50, of Odessa, TX passed from this life on Wednesday, August 2, 2017. She was born in Las Vegas, NV on April 14, 1967 to the late Lee Becker and Norma Lyons.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her beloved husband: Russell Toler; sons: Zachary and Mitchell Toler; daughters: Kaci Szymczyk, Marci Spruell and Traci Toler; brother: Ritchie Becker; sisters: T. Idella B. Dunn, Terri Hussell and Tesa Becker; as well as four grandchildren: Kyle, Milli, Cale and Jace.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister: Tina Humphries.

Agustine Muro, age 59, of Odessa, TX passed from this life on Wednesday, August 2, 2017. He was born in Ojinaga, Mexico on Wednesday, June 4, 1958 to Vincente and Maria (Valdez) Muro.  He was a mechanic.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his mother: Maria Muro; daughters: Betty Muro and Yulissa Muro; brothers: Armando and Oscar Muro; sisters: Alicia Muro, Dora Muro, Maria Muro, Loly Muro, Ceilia Muro and Juana Muro; 2 grandchildren: Krislyn Muro and Christian Muro and one on the way (who will be named Vincente).

He was preceded in death by his father: Vincente Muro.

Rosary will be recited at Acres West Funeral Chapel at 7:00 pm on Friday, August 4, 2017.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 9:00 am on Saturday, August 5, 2017, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, officiated by Fr. Sharon K. Brinlee, age 66, of Andrews, TX passed from this life on Thursday, August 3, 217. She was born in New Castle, Indiana on Wednesday, January 17, 1951 to Orbery Denton and Carrie Elizabeth (Kennedy) Stamps.

Sharon was very strong, independent, outgoing, outspoken, stubborn and fun. She always spoke her mind and was known as “Momma Sharon.” She loved her family very much. Sharon enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family at the lake.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her sons: Ben Gray and Darin Gray, both of Odessa; daughter: Tammy Baird and husband James of Andrews, TX; brother: Jerry Stamps and wife Margaret of Odessa; sister: Betty Maw Walker and husband Doyle of Odessa; as well as 9 grandchildren: Ashley, Marie, Destiny, Javen, Keegan, Dakota, Carrie, Jayce and Jolie and 8 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her sisters: Judy Wells and Phylis Hinton and brother: Eddie Stamps.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, August 5, 2017 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Bro. Jess Little. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

John Hayward Schrock

John Hayward Schrock, age 76, of Midland, TX passed from this life on Wednesday, August 2, 2017. He was born in Thornton, TX on December 22, 1940 to the late Deward and Della Mae (Mitchell) Schrock. 

John was a US Marine Corps veteran and was a Purple Heart recipient. He had worked as a diesel mechanic for Permian Scurlock and Plains for 50 years.  In his 40th year with PAA, he was recognized as the number one tenured employee in all of truck operations and the company publicly honored him for his contributions toward making Midland one of the most critical and profitable operating areas for the entire company. He was the first person in the company to achieve this milestone.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his sons: Eric Schrock and Robert Banks; daughters: Lashell Schrock and Pamela Woodruff; brother: Anthony Schrock; sister: Debra Slade; thirteen grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and wife: Sonja Hensley Banks.

Memorial services with military honors will be held at Lighthouse Pentecostal Church, 200 N. Lincoln St. Midland, TX at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 26, 2017.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel of Odessa.

Jesus Bertha Carrillo de Rodriguez was born March 13, 1944 in Coyame, Chihuahua, Mexico and died August 2, 2017. She leaves behind her children with Jose Refugio Rodriguez of Pennsylvania: Luis (Michelle) of Delaware, Yolanda (Robert) of Odessa, Jose (Ana) of Pennsylvania and Erika (Jesus) of Georgia, 19 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and 3 soon to be born. They are as follows: (Mario & Michelle) Jonathan, Amber, Ashley and Luis Jr. and their children: Jayden, Emmanuel Jr., Micaella and expecting twins. (Yolanda & Robert) Brittany, Robert Jr., Brianna, Bridgett, Brianca & Rylan and their children: Kassandra, Kdyn, Kaileen (+), Neveah, Faith and expecting another one. (Jose & Ana) Jose F., Deanna, and Andre. (Erika & Jesus) Carime, Jesus, Mariah, Alina, Kendra and Kaleb and their children: Caiden and Ethan. Brothers and sisters are Rufina, Josefa, Elidia, Arcadio, Santana, Jose Luis (Ma Luisa) and Pablo Eduvijes (Mari). In addition, there are loads of family members and many good friends.

Preceding her in death are her parents: Jose & Rosa; brothers and sisters: Noel, Angelica, Noel (Manuela), Leonila Carmela, Lilia, and Arcadio; and great-granddaughter: Kaileen.

Mi nombre es Jesus Bertha Carrillo de Rodriguez, naci el dia 13 de marzo de 1944 en Coyame, Chihuahua, y mi atardecer fue dia 2 de agosto de 2017.

"Mi dios y mis padres me dieron el regalo de la vida y ahora tengo que devolverlo. Esto es difícil. Pero fui una mujer afortunada que llevó por delante una existencia llena de trabajo y mucho amor y por todo eso estoy agradecida. Mi enfermedad no me define y sé que mis hijos entienden que me voy porque no puedo seguir con esta situación de no cuidar de mí misma. Por favor acepten mi partida ya que siempre estaré cerca de ustedes. Con mi partida dejo atrás a mis hijos de mi matrimonio con Jose Refugio Rodriguez, Luis (Michelle) de Delaware, Yolanda (Robert) de Odessa, TX, Jose (Ana) de Pennsylvania y Erika (Jesús) de Georgia que siempre se mantuvieron cerca dándome mucho amor y cariño. A mis 19 nietos, 10 bisnietos y 3 más que llegaran pronto “los quiero mucho”! Por favor sigan las enseñanzas que se les inculcaron, trabajen y estudien mucho!
