Cloyed Vernon Wallace Jr.

Cloyed Vernon Wallace Jr., 67, of Odessa, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2017 in Odessa, TX. He was born Tuesday, October 10, 1950 in Midland, TX to Patsy Ruth (Harris) and Cloyed Vernon Wallace Sr.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his mother and one brother: Charlie Wallace.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Jolene (Sanders) Wallace and his father.

Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Robert Lee Barton

Robert Lee Barton, age 72, of Odessa, TX passed from this life on Sunday, October 29, 2017. He was born in Albany, CA on March 8, 1945 to the late Alvie Franklin Barton Sr. and Lois Eugenia Scales.  

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his sons: Bill and Steven Barton and brother: Al Barton; as well as 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his brothers: Franky and James Barton and sisters: Ruby Newton, Helen Barton and Gladys Stanley.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, November 3, 2017 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Burial will be held afterwards at 2:00 pm at Hillside Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Debra (Buck) Kuitu

Debra (Buck) Kuitu, 61, of Odessa, passed away Sunday, October 29, 2017 in Odessa. She was born Sunday, May 6, 1956 in Midland, TX to the late Eva Nadine (McAdoo) and Thurman Buck.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her spouse: Richard Kuitu; one son: Kevin Kuitu; three daughters: Karen Grauvogel, Erin Hamilton and Elizabeth Brown; and four grandchildren: Conor and Cora Rose Brown; Gabe and Hannes GrauvoGel.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Open visitation will be Wednesday, November 1, 2017 until 9:00 pm. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM, Thursday, November 2, 2017 Redeemer Lutheran with interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Gabina Gonzalez
Gabina L. Gonzalez

Gabina L. Gonzalez, age 74, of Odessa, passed from this life on Tuesday, October 31, 2017.  She was born in Durango, Mexico on March 19, 1943 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Victorano and Florencia (Morales) Lopez.  Gabina married Jose Gonzalez in Juarez, MX on April 5, 1970.  She was a homemaker, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother.  Gabina was a member of the Iglesia de Cristo.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her husband of over 47 years:  Jose Gonzalez of Odessa; four sons:  Jose Gonzalez and wife Brenda, Jack Gonzalez, Jesse Gonzalez, and John Ramirez and wife Elizabeth, all of Odessa; three daughters:  Lupita Gonzalez and husband Steve Turner, and Luz Campos and husband Carlos, all of Odessa, and Gabriella Gonzalez of San Antonio; brothers:  Augustine Lopez of Mexico and Jose Lopez of Colorardo; sister:  Maria Delgado of Mexico; numerous nieces and nephews; and eleven grandchildren:  Ariel, Adrian, Jessica, Ariana, Joaquin, Jason, Jacqueline, Judah, Eli, Ethan, and Elizabeth.

Her parents and nine siblings preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm on Friday, November 3, 2017 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Brother Ray Calsadilla.  Services are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations in her honor to Buena Vida Nursing Home.

JD Alexander
John David "J.D." Alexander

John David Alexander, age 77, of Odessa passed from this life on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.  He was born in Hedley, TX on September 2, 1940 to the late Bill Alexander and Velma Lee (Turner) Alexander.  J.D. was a welder as was a hard worker all of his life.

A  member of Bethel Assembly of God, J.D. was very active in his church.  He loved to help others.  Being with his friends, playing dominoes, and watching baseball and football were some of his favorite pastimes.

Those left to cherish his love and memory are his daughters:  Shawna Ashburn and husband Brian, Lisa Holmes, and Britnee Rodriguez and husband Jerred; grandchildren:  Lauryn Hazelet and Marissa Ashburn; and many cousins and friends.

Family visitation will be held from 4-7 pm, Thursday, November 2, 2017 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am at Bethel Assembly of God Church of on Friday, November 3, 2017, officiated by Pastor John VanHoose. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Harry Leroy Henderson
Harry Leroy Henderson

Harry Leroy Henderson, age 87, of Odessa, TX passed from this life on Wednesday, November 1, 2017. He was born in Odessa, TX on February 3, 1930 to the late Ed and Eunice (Henderson) Rogers. Shortly after birth, he was raised by his late grandmother Centennial Ellen Henderson.  He worked as a Mail Carrier for over 30 years and was  a PFC in the US Army. He did his service in Japan from May 1954 to May 1956.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his sons: Larry Leroy Henderson and Garry Lee Henderson, both of Odessa; daughter: Terry Ann Nelson and husband Otis of Odessa; siblings in Ranger, TX; ; as well as 5 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife: Dorothy "Dottie" Henderson after 62 years of marriage.

Gabina Gardea
Gabina Gardea

Gabina Gardea, age 70, of Gardendale, TX passed from this life on Thursday, November 2, 2017. She was born in Ojinaga, Mexico on August 10, 1947 to Audelio Rivera and Concepcion (Valenzuela) Gardea.

Gabina was very devoted to the Lord and loved to read her Bible, pray and light her candles. She played a very big part in helping raise her grandchildren and great-grand child. Gabina enjoyed gardening and loved to sing when no one was watching. The simple things in life made her happy and she enjoyed doing word searches and Facebook. She will be loved and missed dearly.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her parents: Audelio and Concepcion Gardea of Kermit, TX; daughter: Socorro Gardea Montoya of Gardendale; brother: Ermin Gardea and wife Marisela of Monahans, TX; sisters: Olivia Ramirez and husband Ruben , Delma Gardea and Rosario Gardea, all of Kermit, TX; as well as grandchildren: Soraida Montoya and Sobeida Perez and husband Aaron, both of Gardendale, TX and great-grandchild: Altair Gabina Perez.

She was preceded in death by her daughter: Sobeida Gardea Montoya and brother: Trinidad Gardea.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 pm, Monday, November 6, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Burial will follow at American Heritage Cemetery in Midland, TX. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Ariana Amairany Dominguez Ramirez

Our little angel, Ariana Amairany Dominguez Ramirez was born and whisked away to the arms of Jesus in Odessa on Thursday, November 2, 2017.

Those left to cherish her memories are her parents: Jacob Ray Ramirez and Anette Zuzette Dominguez of Odessa; maternal grandparents: Jose Alberto and Veronica Dominguez; paternal grandparents: Irene Ramirez and Ray Jurado; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm, Monday, November 6, 2017 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Graveside services will be held at 9:00 am, Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at the Los Angeles section of Ector County Cemetery. Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Lloyd Blackburn
Lloyd Dean Blackburn

Lloyd Dean Blackburn, age 79, of Odessa, TX passed from this life on Thursday, November 2, 2017. He was born Saturday, May 7, 1938 in Bakersfield, CA to Carolyn Ada (Hill) and Albert Claude Blackburn.

He was lovingly known as “PaPa Pojos” and “(Insert Here) Old Fart.” Lloyd loved everything about racing, especially Nascar and building engines for race cars. He is a veteran of the US Air Force, having proudly served as a 2nd Engineer on a C-130 during the Korean War. He was a part of the “Pojos coffee crew.” Lloyd looked forward to spending time with his daughter and grandsons for Saturday lunches. He was a great father and a very independent man. He highly enjoyed his time with his grandsons; they were the light of his life.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his three daughters: Star Elliott and husband Michael of Odessa, Laressa Talavera and husband Joe of Odessa, and Tina King and wife Wendy of Ft. Worth; one brother: Keith Blackburn of Prineville, OR; one sister: Betty Trout of Bakersfield, CA as well as five grandchildren: Ethan, Tristan, Camden, Chase and Cody and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial services with military honors will be held on Friday, November 10, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Acres West Funeral Chapel with Jimmy Furrow officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel and Crematory.

Wilbur Ray Johnson

Wilbur Ray Johnson, age 77, of Odessa, TX passed from this earth on Friday, November 3, 2017. He was born in Bryson, TX on Friday, July 26, 1940 to the late Francis Wilbur and Elsie (Honeycutt) Johnson.

Ray opened and owned Ray's Vinyl Tops Auto Sound and Cody's Card and Comics in Odessa, TX for many years.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his beloved wife of 59 years: Mary Ann Johnson; oldest son: Ray Brent Johnson and wife Nita of Brownwood, TX; daughter: Tammy Hopkins of Granby, MO; as well as 6 grandchildren: Cody Johnson, Shay Johnson, Brandon Howard, Jeff Johnson, Russell Johnson and Colten Johnson and 5 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister: Sue Ellbrack; brother: Tommy Wayne Johnson and son: Mark Nathaniel Johnson.

No services have been scheduled at this time. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel. In lieu of flowers, Ray's wishes were for you to donate to a charity of your choosing.
