Celebration of Abel Martinez
Our beloved Abel Martinez left this world on Wednesday, February 7, 2018, after fighting a lengthy illness. He was surrounded by his family and friends who loved him very much. Abel was born on September 15, 1939, in McCamey, Texas to Abraham and Manuela Montes Martinez.
He grew up and attended school in McCamey. He was a member of the Badger Football Team as well as track. He graduated High School in 1958. After school, he dedicated himself to being a very hard worker in the oilfield. He retired from Chevron after 30 years of service.
He met the love of his life and married Darlene Williams on January 27, 2007. They resided in Odessa, TX up to his Home going. Abel was a very giving man. He gave countless hours of volunteering at Church where they fed the homeless. He loved being a part of this ministry. He was an active member of Temple and Life Change Baptist for 30 years.
Abel loved his family and friends. This was reciprocated by all that received his love. He was also a devoted Dallas Cowboy fan.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Abraham Martinez & Manuela Montes Martinez; sisters: Juanita Carrasco Martinez, McCamey TX, Manuela Carrasco Barraza Houston, TX, Maria Carrasco Pina, Rankin TX, and Magdalena Martinez Carrasco, Crane, TX; brothers: Arturo Martinez, McCamey, TX, Filemon Martinez, Indianapolis, IN, Federico Martinez, McCamey, TX, Alejandro Martinez, Gonzalez, TX, Refugio Carrasco, Snyder, TX, & Jose Carrasco, Snyder,TX; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is survived by his wife: Darlene Martinez, Odessa, TX; daughter: Lori Martinez, Midland, TX; son: Lenny Martinez, Farmerís Branch; daughter Tara Sharee Martinez, Abilene, TX; and son: Michael Martinez, Midland, TX. He is also survived by his step-children: John Williams, Odessa, TX and Tara Pena, Geismar, LA. He had 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
There will be a memorial service on Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at 6 PM at Life Change Baptist Church of Odessa, TX. Refreshment offered after the service.
Services were entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.
Leonardo Lopez, age 79, of Presidio, passed away in Odessa at Medical Center Hospital on Thursday, February 8, 2018. He was born in Zacatecas, Mexico on November 6, 1938 to Ambrosio Hernandez Lopez and Manuela Avila Gonzalez. He enjoyed leatherworking.
Leonardo is survived by his son: Juan Lopez of Ojinaga, Mexico; daughter: Rocio Calvillo of Roswell, NM; and five grandchildren.

Francisco Arreola Vargas, age 79, of Odessa, TX entered eternity on Wednesday, February 7, 2018. He was born in Zapotiltic Jalisco, Mexico to the late Bonifacio and Sara (Arreola) Vargas.
Those left to cherish his love and memories are his sons: Francisco Vargas (Margarita), Luis Vargas and Isaac Vargas (Amanda); daughters: Blanca Vargas, Flor Carretero (Sergio) and Sandra Fuentes (Victor); sisters: Josefina Vargas, Antonia Vargas and Graciela Vargas; as well as 16 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 44 years: Consuelo Salcido Vargas.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Acres West 24 Hour Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow at the Peaceful Garden section of Ector County Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Ella Mae Jones, age 66, of Odessa, TX passed from this life on Thursday, February 8, 2018. She was born in on March 13, 1951 to James Arthur and Bobbie Jean (Smith) Jones.

Victor Daniel Everhart, age 66, of Odessa, TX passed from this life on Saturday, February 10, 2018. He was born in Brownwood, TX on June 9, 1951 to the late Robert James Sr. and Wille Faye (Neely) Everhart. He was a Veteran of the US Army.
Victor was a loving husband, father and Papa Danny/ Poppy. His family was everything to him and he loved his grandchildren dearly. Victor was always telling stories and tall tales. He had a wicked sense of humor and was always making others laugh. Victor was also a truck driver and would drive until he couldn't anymore. He enjoyed music, popcorn, ice cream, a good drink and motorcycles. Victor was innovative and once made his own tub bass guitar.
Those left to cherish his love and memories are his beloved wife: Connie Everhart; son: John Everhart; daughters: Lisa Todd and Kamie Anderson; brothers: Robert James Everhart Jr., William David Everhart Sr. and Reid Anthony Harris "Pepper"; sisters: Brenda Lucille Crowe, Martha Louise Everhart and Patricia Catheline Kubitz; aunt: Mary Teague; as well as 10 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son: Jack Daniel Everhart and brothers: John Zackrey and Horace "Hoss" Rayford Neely.

Denver Scott Robertson came into this life on February 10, 1995 in Odessa, TX, born to his mother, Jamie Robertson and a huge family. He departed this life on February 6, 2018 at the age of 22 years, 361 days. He was loved by many. He touched more lives than most at his age, but he was unique, the only grandson of his late Granny Barbara Ann Robertson. He loved his job as a mechanic for Targa, enjoyed working on vehicles, and has such a passion for speed. His latest project was his 2001 Chevy Silverado that had belonged to his late Granny, "The Blue Angel." Almost finished, it was fast enough to scare him. He also loved hanging out with his friends, brothers as he always called them, whom he LOVED HARD and with all of his HEART, making them all family (and of course, immediate family.) He will be missed and cherished by many. Remember - DON'T hesitate to communicate!
Those left to cherish his love and memories are his mother: Jamie Robertson and her boyfriend Rob Trabant of Odessa, TX; sisters: Nicole Robertson and Brehanna Robertson, both of Odessa, TX and Victoria English of Conroe, TX; brothers: Tyler Middleton and Zack English and many more (too many to list); his best bud and idol - aka "Uncle": James Robertson; his aunt: Ann Robertson; cousin: Lanndrie Robertson; girlfriend: KaRissa Hines; family friend: Crazy Nancy; as well as many friends whom he considered to be family.
He is also preceded in death by his great-granny, Georgie Avis Robertson.

Michael Keith Reed, age 60, of Odessa, TX passed from this life on Friday, February 9, 2018. He was born in Odessa, TX on Tuesday, October 3, 1957 to Monte Jay and Sharon Lynne (Meyers) Reed.
Michael was an avid hunter and he loved John Wayne.
Those left to cherish his love and memories are his beloved wife: Debbie Reed of Odessa; sons: Curtis Reed of Haskell, TX, Jacob Reed of Kansas City, KS and Chris Ybarra of Eureka. Ca; daughters: Valerie Elmore of Aiken, SC, Amber Looney of Weatherford, TX and Kayla Glass of Pensacola, FL; mother: Sharon Reed; brother: Larry Scott Reed of Midlothian, TX; sister: Netha Lynne Boucher of Midland, TX; as well as 10 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father: Monte Jay Reed.

Wanda Faye Edmondson, age 85, of Odessa, TX passed from this life on Sunday, February 11, 2018. She was born in Cooper, TX on September 7, 1932. Faye had served as vice president of Fritch State Bank in Fritch, TX.
Those left to cherish her love and memories are her sons: Scot Edmondson and wife Kelli and Terry Edmondson and wife Lynn; six grandchildren: Jared Edmondson, Jeremy Edmondson and wife Sonia, David Edmondson and wife Rachel, T.J. Edmondson and wife Katy, Cassie Benzenberg and husband Hank, and Brooks Berggren and wife Joani; and eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Walter and Lillie Mae Spradlin; first husband: Charles Dowlearn; second husband: James Edmondson; sons: Randy Edmondson and Ronnie Dowlearn; and her sisters: Helen Allen and Neta Parker.
Funeral services will be at Acres West Funeral Chapel in Odessa on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at 10:00 am. Graveside services will be the following day on Friday, February 16, 2018 at Restland Memorial Park Cemetery in Dallas, TX at 11:00 am.
