Pamela Jan Epperson

Pamela Jan Epperson, 65, of Odessa, passed away Monday, February 12, 2018 in Odessa. She was born Thursday, April 24, 1952 to Roy Gordon and Thelma Lomesia (Whitehead) McDaniel in Big Spring, Texas.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her two sons: Chuck Shelton of Springdale, AR; Sam Shelton of Odessa, TX; three brothers: David Lee James of Odessa, TX; Troy McDaniel of El Paso, TX; Steve McDaniel of Odessa, TX; one sister: Tootsie McDaniel of Odessa, TX; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband: Mickey Don Epperson and three sisters: Aundria, Kay and Lynn.

Public viewing will begin at the funeral home Wednesday at 2:00 pm.  Funeral Services will be held 4:00 pm, Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel with Dr. Donnie Rollie officiating.

Andre-Allen Jose Zuniga, infant, was placed in the arms of Jesus on Sunday, February 11, 2018. He was born to Fernando Zuniga and Reyna Salgado. 

He is survived by his parents; sister, Maliha Zuniga; grandparents, Thomas and Audrey DiMase, Claudia and Bill Parker, and Benjamin Salgado, Jr.; uncles, Johnathon DiMase, Devan DiMase, Kyle Baker, and Benjamin Salgado III; and aunts, Alexia Salgado and Noami Rodriguez. 

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at 1 PM at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel. 

Kevin Rusty Cavett 2018
Kevin Russell "Rusty" Cavett

Kevin Russell "Rusty" Cavett, age 60, of Odessa, TX passed from this life on Tuesday, February 13, 2018. He was born in Kermit, TX on Wednesday, May 1, 1957 to Ora Byron and Annabeth (Webster) Cavett. 

Rusty liked to help others and always did everything in his power to help others, whether he was in uniform or not.  He was a dedicated peace officer who served with and retired from both the Brownfield and Stamford Police Departments. His memorable career included service as a K-9 handler, a campus police officer, and a volunteer fire fighter.  An avid hunter and fisherman, he collected guns as well as hand crafting them.  In addition, he taught gun safety courses.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his mother:  Anna Cavett; two daughters:  Emily Paige Cavett and Erin Bryne Cavett; sisters:  Carla Jean Penick and Dawn Michelle Boring; and beloved grandson:  Jeremy Rayshawn Stinnett, Jr.

He was preceded in death by his father; his loving wife:  Martha Jane Cavett; and two brothers:  Byron Troy Cavett and Anthony Craig Cavett.

Memorial services are scheduled for 10:30 am Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Faith Church of the Nazarene, 3501 Golder Avenue, Odessa, TX, officiated by Pastor Barry Reiswig.

Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Lois Constance Reed

Lois Constance Reed, age 95, of Odessa, TX passed from this life on Tuesday, February 13, 2018. She was born on Monday, January 5, 1923 to the late Merle and Amelia (Norbit) Seward.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her daughters: Sharon Brown and husband Norm of Odessa, TX and Diana Reed of Champagne, IL; as well as grandchildren: Jake Goldstein, Carnaby Snow and husband Brock, and Scott Brown and wife Mary; and great-grandchildren: Meagan, Stephanie, Elizabeth and Isabel.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband: Merritt Reed; parents and four brothers.

No services have been scheduled at this time. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Felix Porras 2018
Felix Uribe "Paisano" Porras

Felix Uribe "Paisano" Porras, age 64, of Odessa passed away at home on Thursday, February 15, 2018.  He was born in Barrancos de Guadalupe, Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico on Tuesday, March 31, 1953 to the late Donaciano and Clara (Uribe) Porras.  He was Catholic and attended Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.

Felix loved working and was a hard working man and was very proud of his business, Felix U. Porras Trucking.  He enjoyed construction, running a blade or a maintainer and welding.  Providing and caring for his family was very important to him.  Felix never hesitated to help someone in need and would give anything for anyone.  He loved his family with all of his heart and spending time with his grandchildren was a special blessing. Another favorite pastime was a good game of dominoes.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his wife:  Emma Muñiz Porras; two sons:  Felix Porras Jr. and wife Crystabel and Fabian Porras and wife Olga; two daughters:  Rosie Porras Simental and husband Javier and Lori Salas and husband Jose; all of Odessa; eleven brothers and sisters:  Santana and Elva Porras, Alicia and Martin Baeza, Eliseo and Hilda Porras, Benjamin Porras, Irma Porras, Martin and Teresa Porras, Donaciano and Jesus Porras, Leticia and Victor Serrano, Edith and Amador Ramos, Rogelio and Josie Porras, and Rene and Linda Porras; and thirteen grandchildren:  Diego Simental, Yasmine Simental, Dante Porras, Julian Salas, Felix Porras III, Alessandra Simental, Jonathan Salas, Xavian Porras, Isaiah Porras, Sasha Porras, Felicity Porras, Gianna Porras, and Josiah Salas.

Rosary will be recited at Acres West 24 Hour Chapel on Thursday and Friday, February 15 and 16, 2018 at 7:00 pm.  Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.  Interment will follow at Odessa II Gardens of Ector County Cemetery. 

Pallbearers will include Santana Porras, Donaciano Porras, Martin Porras, Rogelio Porras, Benjamin Porras, Rene Porras, and LeeRoy Porras.  Honorary pallbearers will be Josiah Salas, Xavian Porras, Jonathan Salas, Felix Porras III, Isaiah Porras, Diego Simental, Julian Salas, Dante Porras, and Oscar Aguirre, Jr.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Enrique Mendoza Lozano

Enrique Mendoza Lozano (Papa Kike), 90, of Odessa, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2018 in Odessa. He was born Friday, May 20, 1927 in San Bartolo, Durango, Mexico to the late Jose Ines and Apolonia (Lozano) Mendoza.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his wife: Maria (Diaz) Mendoza; eight sons: Arturo Mendoza, Salvador Mendoza, Adan Mendoza and wife Lorenza, Enrique Mendoza and wife Alejandrina, Juan Manuel Mendoza and wife Maria; Miguel Angel Mendoza and wife Esmeralda, Roy Mendoza,  Angel Olivo and wife Soila; five daughters: Eva Saucedo and husband Telo, Maria Mendoza Duran, Mirna Olivo and husband Jose Reyna, Maria Mendoza Lujan and husband Rigo, Evelyn Olivo; forty-four grandchildren; eighty-six great-grandchildren and eleven great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers: Heriberto Mendoza, Seferino Mendoza, Pedro Antonio Mendoza, one sister: Teresa Mendoza; one grandchild: Tomas Alfredo Saucedo; two great-grandchildren: Jose Saucedo, Jr.; Jesus Salvador Mendoza and one daughter-in-law: Catalina Mendoza.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 1:00 pm, Tuesday, February 20, 2018 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Los Angeles Gardens section of Ector County Cemetery. Rosary will be held 6:00 pm, Sunday, February 18, 2018 at Acres West 24 Hour Funeral Chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Cynthia Ann Burkett

Cynthia Ann Burkett, age 60, of Andrews, passed from this life on Friday, February 16, 2018 at her home.  She was born in Bakersfield, CA on October 6, 1957 to the late William Wallace Jr. and Katherine Long.  She was a homemaker, beloved wife, mother, sister, and grandmother.

Those left to cherish her love and memory are her husband:  Tommy Ray Burkett of Andrews; daughter:  Angela Sterlin and husband Dewey of Andrews; two brothers:  Bobby Cranford and Jimmy Cranford; five sisters:  Laura Cranford, Debra Cranford, Julia Hernandez, Shelba Cranford, and Carmela Vangone; and eight precious grandchildren.

Her parents and one brother, Billy Cranford, precede her to her heavenly home.

A celebration of Cynthia's life will be held to share barbeque, fellowship and memories at the family home in Andrews on Thursday, February 22, 2018 beginning around 2 pm. A private service for other family members will also be held on March 6, 2018.

Minerva Acosta de Guillen

Minerva Acosta de Guillen, age 78, passed from this life on Saturday, February 17, 2018 at Medical Center Hospital in Odessa.  She began her earthly journey in Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico on Thursday, April 20, 1939, born to the late Octaviano Acosta Gaona and Guillermina Acosta.  She was a homemaker, a beloved wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother.

Those left to cherish her love and memory are her husband:  Manuel Guillen Fernandez of Odessa, TX; sons:  Manuel Guillen of New Mexico, Adolfo Guillen of Odessa, TX, Alejandro Guillen of Sanderson, TX, Marco Guillen of Texas, and Adrian Gullien of New Mexico; daughters:  Minerva Guillen of Odessa, TX, Rosaura Cabral of Texas, Leticia Guillen of New Mexico and Iliana Guillen of Texas; two brothers:  Fernando Gonzalez of Texas and Maurico Olvera of Mexico; sister:  Guadalupe Acosta of Mexico; thirty-one grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Rosary will be recited at Acres West Funeral Chapel at 7:00 pm on Tuesday evening, February 20, 2018.  Funeral services will be at Acres West Funeral Chapel on Wednesday morning, February 21, 2018 at 10:00 am, officiated by Deacon Manuel Luevano.

Rosalba Espinoza 2018
Rosalba Orozco Espinoza

Rosalba Orozco Espinoza, age 53, of Presidio, passed away in Odessa at Continue Care Hospital on Saturday, February 17, 2018.  She was born in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico on June 11, 1964 to the late Daniel Olivas and Petra Orozco.  She was a homemaker, wife, mother and grandmother.

Those left to cherish her love and memory are her husband:  Alberto Espinoza of Presidio; son:  Daniel Espinoza and wife Griselda of Odessa; daughter:  Delilah Roxanna Espinoza and husband Eduardo of Odessa; and five precious grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her father:  Daniel Olivas; mother and step-father:  Petra and Francisco Orozco

Funeral services will be at a later date in Ojinaga, Chihuahua, Mexico with burial to follow at Cementerio de Cañada Ancha.

Vickie B. Watson-Jones

Vickie B. Watson-Jones, age 57, passed away at her Odessa residence on Sunday, February 18, 2018.  She was born in Kansas on November 18, 1960.  She was a teacher at Blackshear Elementary.

Vickie leaves to cherish her love and memory her husband:  Glenn Jones; son:  Shawn Srader; and her adorable rescue furbabies:  Rosie Mae, Gar Mae, Whitefoot Mae, Goofie Mae and Emily Mae.

Visitation will be Wednesday, February 21, 2018 at Acres West Funeral Chapel.  Graveside memorial services will be privately held at Sipe Springs Cemetery, Sipe Springs, TX.
