Janice Maberry Harrington

Janice Maberry Harrington, age 67, of Midland, passed away Friday, March 16, 2018 in Midland, TX. She was born Thursday, December 28, 1950 to the late Floy Mae (Rosentreter) and Robert Jefferson Maberry in Midland, TX.  Janice attended Odessa College and went to work for Mobil Oil as a personnel trainer.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are niece:  Tiffany McMillan Johnson; nephew:  Joseph McMillan; two great nieces and two great nephews:  Kailee Johnson, Kaleb Stevens, Jada McMillan and Seth McMillan.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband:  Gary Harrington; her sister:  Nancy Maberry; and her niece:  Michelle Holly.

No services will be held at this time.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Jerry Eugene Creel, age 72, of Odessa, TX passed from this life on Tuesday, March 20, 2018. He was born in Henderson, TX on May 30, 1945 to the late Norvel and Bonnie (McClure) Creel.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his son: Joe Creel and wife Erin of Odessa, TX and Jessy Creel and wife Vonnie of Odessa, TX; brother: Bill Creel and wife Jeanie; as well as grandchildren: Eric, Jayden, Bonnie, Jodie, Mya-lynn and Joshua and numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial services are planned soon at a time and date to be announced. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel. 

James “Jim” Harris Berg

James “Jim” Harris Berg, age 76, of Midland, TX, passed from this life on Tuesday, March 20, 2018. He was born in Hays, Kansas on April 26, 1941 to the late Max and Blanche (Wolfe) Berg.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his son, Joshua James Berg; daughter, Raney Berg; sisters, Ruthie Foster and Sandra Opie Berg; and grandchildren, Destiny, Braylee, Brayden, Ashton, and Leah Berg, Lucas Spence, Brooklyn Karpenko, and Abigail McDonald.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Joseph Mendel Berg.

Isaul Galindo 2018
Isaul Galindo

Isaul Galindo, age 77, of Odessa, TX entered eternity on Thursday, March 22, 2018. He was born in Mexico on February 22, 1941 to the late Santos Galindo Huerta and Esperanza De la O (Morales) Galindo.  He worked in construction as a brick mason.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his wife:  Maria (Natividad) Galindo; sons:  Joel Galindo, Enrique Galindo, Saul Galindo, Sergio Galindo and Lupe Galindo; two daughters:  Aurelia Galindo and Esperanza Galindo; twenty-five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

Rosary will be recited Sunday evening at 7:00 pm at Acres West 24 Hour Chapel.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 pm, Monday, March 26, 2018 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church followed by interment at Odessa II Gardens of Ector County Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

William Ralph “Bogie” Boydstun III

William Ralph “Bogie” Boydstun III, age 62, of Odessa, TX passed from this life on Thursday, March 22, 2018. He was born Thursday, September 8, 1955 to Winnie Weaver (Sprott) and William Ralph Boydstun II in Plainview, TX.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his two brothers: Bill Boydstun and wife Andrea of Eugene, OR; Art Boydstun of Crane, TX; two sisters: Gloria Lee Nelson of Fayetteville, AR and Carol Wilkerson and husband Milton of Odessa, TX.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Raymunda Rodriguez 2018
Raymunda Rodriguez

Raymunda Rodriguez, age 82, of Odessa, TX entered eternity on Friday, March 23, 2018. She was born in Mulato, Chihuahua, Mexico on June 5, 1935 to the late Cruz and Reymunda (Montoya) Gomez.

Raymunda was the rock of the family. She was a wonderful mom, wife, sister and grandmother. Raymunda had a huge heart and always took care of everyone. Her family was everything to her and she devoted all of her time to them. Raymunda was an unbelievable at sewing and very talented at knitting.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her sons: George Rodriguez (Cecilia), Johnny Rodriguez (Celia) and Rafael Rodriguez; daughter: Alma Rosa Clements (Scott); sisters: Alvina Alvarado, Eloisa Alvarez, Pina Gomez, Bertha Reyes and Gabina Gabarra; as well as 12 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years: Rafael Rodriguez and one brother.

Rosary will be held at 7:00 pm, Monday, March 26, 2018 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Rose Hill  section of Ector County Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Robert Laurence Prince

Robert Laurence Prince, age 56, of Odessa, passed away at his home on Friday, March 23, 2018.  He was born in Roswell, NM on April 29, 1961 to the late Nick James Prince and Barbara Lucille (Wilson) Prince.  Robert was a small engine mechanic.

Those left to cherish his love and memory are his sons:  Jessie Prince, Scott Prince, William Prince and Wesley Prince; seven grandchildren:  Ezekiel and Josiah Prince, Denver Lyndzie, Payton Prince, and Aniyah and Axton Prince; numerous nieces, nephews and uncles; and best friend:  Jacqueline Mossier.

His parents and his siblings:  Michael James Prince, Alan Prince, and Barbara Turner, precede him in death.

Memorial services will be at Tanglewood Baptist Churhc on Friday, April 27, 2018 at 7:00 pm..  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Beautel M Nelms 2018
Beautel Marie "Beauty" Nelms

Beautel Marie Nelms, affectionately known as “Beauty”, passed away Saturday March 24, 2018, after a brief illness. She was seventy-seven years of age.

The Wake will be at 7:00 p.m. Friday, March 30th at Greater St. John Baptist Church in Odessa, TX followed by a celebration of her life that will be held at 11:00 a.m. March 31, 2018, at the Greater St. John Baptist Church with Rev. Reginald O’Neal officiating. Burial will take place 10:00 a.m. Monday, April 2, 2018 at Odessa Garden II.

Beauty was born September 2, 1940 in Reagan, TX to the late Maurice Nelms and Dorothy Lee Davis Nelms. She was a 1958 graduate of Blackshear Jr. /Sr. High School.

Beauty moved to Denver, CO in 1963 where she met and married Vince Ramos who preceded her in death. She was a dedicated employee of Wheatridge, CO State School, occasionally taking her special needs charges for weekend passes which provided her with much joy. Beauty returned to Odessa in the early 1990’s immersing herself in God’s work at Greater St. John Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. Jasper Williams and current pastor, Rev. E. J. Miller. She served tirelessly as a member of the Busy Bee, Sr. Choir, and Women’s Mission where she was the musician. She loved journaling, dominoes, and bingo.

She cherished time spent with her immediate family as well as her church family and friends. She enjoyed an extremely close bond and special friendship of over 62 years with Ms. Bobbie Edwards Palmer of Odessa, TX.

The family would like to thank Dr. Robert Vogel of Midland, TX and the 8th Floor Nursing Staff of Midland Memorial Hospital for the care you provided Beauty.

A special thank-you to Dr. Christine Wan of Odessa, TX for the wonderful medical care administered over the last fifteen years and the friendship bestowed upon Beauty.

Beauty was preceded in death by her father, Maurice Nelms; brother: Lynn C. Nelms; son-in-law Ronnie J. Hodges and nephew Jason S. Harrison.

Survivors include her loving mother: Dorothy Lee Nelms of Odessa, TX, who celebrated her 101 birthday August 2017; her two children: Janice Marie Hall Hodges of Pearland, TX and Keith A. Ramos of Denver, CO; sister: Shirley F. Marshall of Dallas, TX; brother: Morris (Mary) Nelms of Odessa, TX; two grandchildren: Yaboric “Beau” Hall and Whitley C. Hodges, both of Houston and four great-grandchildren: Erica and Emily Hall, Cameron Shaw, and Mi’Chelle Anderson, all of Houston, TX; sisters-in-law: Margaret Nelms of Waxahachie, TX and Luella Johnson of Dallas, TX; aunt: Ethel J. Nelms of Houston, TX; special cousin: Minnie Richardson of Long Beach, CA and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. 

Jeffrey Ben Riggin 2018
Jeffrey Ben Riggen

Jeffrey Ben Riggen, age 36, of Odessa, TX passed from this life on Sunday, March 25, 2018. He was born in Bakersfield, CA on July 3, 1981 to Franklin Ben and Cassie Jean (Hamilton) Riggen.

Jeff was a selfless, beautiful person. He was an amazing husband, father, son, brother, and friend. He married his best friend and love of his life, April Hardison, on August 27, 2005. He was very involved in his sons' lives; they were his world. He even coached their football team. Jeff was employed by Diamond Fleet and worked in outside sales. He enjoyed cars, motorcycles, and racing and worked the starting line at Penwell Knights Raceway. He was a bright light and never hesitated to be there for anyone in a time of need.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his beloved wife of 12 years: April Riggen; sons: Jayden Ben Riggen and Kyle Allen Riggen; nieces and nephews: Franklin Allen and Jaxson Tyler Riggen, Blake and Brenner Hicks, Naomi and Audrey Schuster, Avery Durfee, Adrian Sisneros, Noah Chirrahmonte, and Sklyar Marez; parents, Cassie Hicks (Richard Tercero), Franklin Riggen (Katria) and David Soza; brothers: Neil Riggen (Tessa) and Michael Hicks (Heather); sisters: Emily Hunt (Steve), Erin Cole (Matt Schuster), Amanda Cole and Amber Cole; and grandparents, Doyle and Carol Hamilton.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Wednesday, March 28, 2018 from 6-8 PM at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, March 29, 2018 at Odessa Christian Faith Center. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Dendy Faye Ellis 2018
Dendy Faye Ellis

Dendy Faye Ellis, age 65, of Odessa, TX went to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 25, 2018. She was born in Waco, TX on Sunday, August 17, 1952 to Jimmy and Faye (Lasseter) Gardner.

Dendy was a Karaoke DJ and bar owner of Hillbillies. Singing was her talent and she made sure everyone around her enjoyed it as much as she did. She made everyone feel like her family and was a mother figure to numerous people. Dendy loved fishing in her earlier years. She had a love for life and will be missed dearly by all who knew her.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her beloved partner: Danny Smith; sons: Eric and Dustin Rice; daughters: Courtney and Brittany Rice; sister: Lana Sprague; as well as grandchildren: Kelsea Hernandez, Charlize Rice, Kymberly Rice and Evan Lynch.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, April 7, 2018 at Acres West Funeral Chapel.
