Felisa Heredia
Felisa Vasquez Heredia

Felisa Vasquez Heredia, 71, of Odessa, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2018 in Odessa, TX. She was born Wednesday, June 12, 1946 in Loraine, TX to Jose and Juanita (Fierro) Vasquez.  She was a homemaker, a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her husband of 22 years:  Israel Bustamante of Odessa; son:  Ramon Bustos of Odessa; daughter:  Julie Reschman of Odessa; two brothers:  Charlie Vasquez of Odessa and Joe Vasquez III of Newton, KS; sisters:  Lupe Martinez, Maria Talavera, Irene Guzman, and Pia Vasquez, all of Odessa; twelve grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.

Felisa was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter:  Monica Heredia; three brothers:  Andy, Valentin, and Luis; and one sister:  Mary Torres.

A Prayer Service will be at 7:00 pm on Friday, June 1, 2018 at Acres West 24 Hour Chapel.  Funeral services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, June 2, 2018, at Acres West 24 Hour Chapel, officiated by Pastor Pedro Landa.

Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Leticia Montoya

Leticia Montoya, 57, of Midland, went home to the Lord Wednesday, May 30, 2018, in Odessa, TX. She was born Tuesday, May 2, 1961, in Manuel Benavides, Chihuahua, Mexico to the late Anselma (Soltero) and Norberto Montoya. Leticia had a strong sense of ambition demonstrated by her hard work. She studied for her degree in Business Administration before moving to the United States. Her fierce work ethic was equaled only by her unbridled ability to nurture and care for others. Leticia was the rock of support to many around her and her love knew no boundaries as it was freely given to all. She was the best mother, grandmother and mentor; who was a true blessing to her family, friends and anyone needing a shoulder to cry on. Her nurturing nature for people was reflected in her love of planting and growing flowers in her garden. Like her flowers, her memories and her positive impact will continue to grow.

Those left to cherish her memories and continue her legacy of love are her daughter: Nereida Dominguez and her spouse Inez; four brothers: Reyes Montoya, Salomon Montoya, Salvador Montoya and Aureliano Montoya; four sisters: Maria Valenzuela, Manuela Galindo, Eloisa Ramos and Armida Montoya; two grandchildren: Damian and Sofia Dominguez; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents and the love of her life.

Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Interment is to follow at Odessa Gardens II section of Ector County Cemetery. Prayer Service will be held 7:00 PM, Friday, June 1, 2018 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Melton Tom Harber 2018
Melton Thomas "Tom" Harber

Melton Thomas Harber, age 68, of Gardendale, passed from this life at Medical Center Hospital on Thursday, May 31, 2018.  He began his earthly journey in Mitchell County, TX on Saturday, October 1, 1949 born to the late Dorothy Mae (Mote) and Marvin Harber. 

Those left to cherish Tom's love and memory are his daughter: Michelle Coffman and husband Mike; two sons: David Hudson and wife Sheri, Eric Hudson; eight grandchildren: Reagan, Josie, Michael, David, Sheridan, Lauren, Dana and Robert; and his cousin: Bobbie Wilkinson.  

Graveside services are scheduled for Monday, June 4, 2018 at 10:00 am at Odessa Gardens II section of Ector County Cemetery in Odessa, TX. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel of Odessa.

Manuela Galindo 2018
Manuela Galindo de Madrid

Manuela Galindo de Madrid, age 74, of Ojinaga, Chihuahau, Mexico, passed away at Medical Center Hospital of Odessa on Friday, June 1, 2018.  She was born June 24, 1943 in Alamos de San Antonio de Manuel Benavides, Chihuahua, Mexico to the late Valentin and Rebecca (Hernandez) Galindo.

Those left to cherish her love and memory are her sons:  Manuel Madrid of Borger, Jesus Madrid of Odessa, Noe Madrid of Mexico, Gumersindo Madrid of Odessa, and Edgar Madrid of Borger; daughters:  Luz Gallegos of Amarillo, Elia Saenz of Odessa, and Sandra Nieto of Longview; three brothers; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Her parents and five of her brothers, preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be at a later date in Ojinaga with burial to follow at Colinas del Eden.

Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel in Odessa and Funeraria de Valle in Ojinaga.

Nina Tinsley
Nina Pauline Tinsley

Nina Pauline Tinsley, age 86, of Odessa, passed away at her home on Saturday, June 2, 2018.  She was born in Lake City, Michigan on September 6, 1931 to the late Berlie Mae (Knapp) and August Kopischka, Jr.  Nina married Joseph Howard "Dick" Tinsley in Junction, TX on July 16, 1952.  They had three children.  Together, she and Dick built Tinsley and Son Drilling, which they owned and operated for many years.

Nina enjoyed gardening, painting, cooking and sewing.

Those left to cherish her love and memory are her son:  Howard Neil of Brady, TX; daughter: Paula Homsey of Odessa, TX; sisters:  Lethal Hamel of Michigan, Esther Randall of Weatherford, TX and Helen Burns of Lansing, MI; seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

In addition to her parents and late husband, she is predeceased by her daughter:  Pamela Scott and brothers:  William Kopischka and Jack Kopischka.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.  Funeral services will be Thursday, June 7, 2018 at 10:00 am at Acres West Funeral Chapel officiated by Rev. Jimmy Braswell.  Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.  Services are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Jose “Chalalu” Medrano

Jose “Chalalu” Medrano, 67, of Odessa, passed away Monday, June 4, 2018 at Medical Center Hospital. He was born Monday, May 7, 1951 in Ciudad Aldama, Chihuahua, Mexico to the late Luz Villanueva (Gomez) and Jose Medrano Granado.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his seven children: Jose Medrano, Jr., Olivia Ortiz, David Medrano, Irma Avila, Laura Trew, Lorena Medrano and Maribel Medrano; one brother: Manuel Medrano; one sister: Antonia Serrano; twelve grandchildren: Joe Angel, Alejandro, Izmariah, Destiny, Anahi, Isaiah, Maribel, Marily, Jesus, Diego, Raul Jr. plus two great-grandchildren: Reign and Katalina.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Nancy Jane Perryman

Nancy Jane Perryman, 59, of Odessa, passed away, Monday, June 4, 2018 at Medical Center Hospital. She was born Sunday, May 17, 1959 in Pecos, TX to the late George Truit and Grace Reba (Vessels) Perryman. 

Those left to cherish her love and memories are son:  Christopher Cobb and wife Renee; daughters:  Carrie Duncan and husband Coby and Elizabeth Graham; sister:  Jeane Wharton and husband Charlie; and five grandchildren:  Robert, Morgan, Connor, Jessica, and Ryland.

Visitation at Acres West Funeral Chapel will be Friday, June 8, 2018 from 5:00 to 9:00 pm.  Memorial services will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Randall Skinner 2018
Randall Allen Skinner

Randall Allen Skinner, 65, of Odessa, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2018, in Odessa, TX. He was born Wednesday, November 19, 1952 in Salina, KS to the late Dorothy Fay (Haase) and Gerald Ray Skinner.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his brother: Mark Skinner, two sisters: Cindy Carlson and Sammie Marvin plus numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Hazel Burbridge 2018
Hazel L. Burbridge

Hazel L. Burbridge, 96, died on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 in Odessa, TX. She was born on February 28, 1922 in Mound City, MN to the late Floyd and Lillian Godfrey Clark. Due to the early death of her mother and the difficulties of the Great Depression years, Hazel and sister Eva went to live with relatives in Pender, Ne. Hazel was a graduate of the Pender High School class of 1942. She continued her education at Wayne State Teacher’s College and began her teaching career at a rural Thurston school.

In 1949 she married Vern E. Burbridge. They made their home in South Bend, Indiana. Hazel continued her teaching career and college coursework at Bethel College and Notre Dame. She loved teaching young children. She thought each class was her best and looked forward to meeting a new class each fall.

When Vern retired in 1970 they started a new adventure at Big B Ranch in Fox, Arkansas. Hazel and Vern extended a fun loving welcome to family and friends, and many happy memories were made during visits to the Big B Ranch.

Hazel had the heart of a teacher and continued her career at Rural Special School in Mountain View, AR. In 1972 she and her class hosted a wild game Turkey Dinner for her students and their families. The popular dinner evolved into an annual community-wide event.

When Hazel retired from teaching she and Vern enjoyed the Big B together until Vern’s death in 1992. In 1997 Hazel left the Big B and moved into Mountain View enjoying family, wonderful friends and attending White Water Baptist Church. Due to health problems, Hazel moved to Odessa, TX in 2003 to be near her sister, Eva and husband Elmer Macklin. She enjoyed various craft activities, time with family, and attending The Potter’s House Church with the Macklins and their daughter Mary Means’ family. Her heart was still in Arkansas though, and she returned to Mountain View briefly. However, her health continued to be a concern and in 2005 she returned to Odessa where she resided until her death.

Left to cherish her memory are sister Ruth Hammel of Middleton, Idaho; brother Kenny Clark of Boise, Idaho; daughter-in-law Caroline Burbridge of Fairfield Bay, Arkansas; eight loving grandchildren; twelve nieces and nephews who will miss her greatly, as well as three more generations of “ greats,” “great-greats, ” and even “great-great-greats” who will learn of their wonderful Grandma Hazel or Aunt Hazel through the memories their parents share.

Hazel is preceded in death by: husband Vern Burbidge; sons John and Jack Burbridge; parents Floyd and Lillian Clark; brothers Virgil, Darrell, and Merle Clark; and sisters Eva Macklin and Beth Clark; and nephew Terry Clark.

Funeral arrangements are being made with Roller Coffman Funeral Home in Mountain View, Arkansas. Visitation at the funeral home will be Saturday, June 16, 2018 at noon, followed by Funeral Services in the Chapel at 1:00 pm.  graveside services at Pordue Cemetery in Onia, AR immediately follow.

Robert Lenford Jr 2018
Rev. Robert Lenford, Jr.

Rev. Robert Lenford, Jr. age 70, of Odessa, passed from this life at his home on June 5, 2018.  He was born in Ralls, TX on June 2, 1948 to the late Robert Lenford, Sr. and Dorothy (Graham) Lenford.  The family moved to Odessa, TX in the early 50's.  Robert attended Odessa schools and graduated from Blackshear High School in 1967.  He enlisted in the military and served his country in the US Navy.

 Robert accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age at Rose of Sharon Baptist Church.  He was called to the ministry and faithfully served.  He lived and worked in Amarillo, TX, New York, NY, and Raleigh, NC, returning to live out his final days in Odessa, TX.

Robert was a loving father and grandfather.  He leaves to cherish his memories his son: Coury Joseph of Crane, TX; three grandchildren:  Torian, Lexus, and Jordan of Crane; great-grandson:  Brason; uncle:  Jimmie D. Graham of Dalhart, TX; aunt:  Hereline Rosemond of San Antonio, TX; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins; and his brothers and sisters in Christ.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother:  Johnny Lenford.

No services will be held at this time.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel and Crematory.
