Teesha Kay Price

Teesha Kay Price, 50, of Odessa, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Medical Center Hospital. She was born Sunday, March 13, 1968 in Odessa to Brenda (Newton) Jones and the late Joe Price.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her husband: Jimmy Wayne Hardin of Odessa; one son: Billy Allen Dunn and wife Mariah (McDonald) of Abilene; two brothers: Will T. Mitchell of Brownwood and J.J. Price of Odessa; one sister: Betty K. Nix of Cisco; three grandchildren: Illianna “Lilly” Recce Dunn, Michael Gordon Dunn and Lewis Wayne Dunn all of Abilene.

She was preceded in death by her infant daughter: Casey Annette Price and her father: Joe Price.

Memorial service will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Brandon Baiza 2018
Brandon Severaino Baiza, Jr.

Brandon Severaino Baiza, Jr. age 30, passed away at his home in Big Spring, TX on Wednesday, June 6, 2018.  He was born in Odessa, TX on Sunday, February 7, 1988 to Severiano Baiza and Judy Kay Emery. 

Survivors are his father:  Severiano Baiza of Odessa; mother:  Judy K. Emery of California; three children, all of Big Spring; brother:  Anthony Baiza of Amarillo; sisters:  Stacey Nicole Baiza of Amarillo and Lacey Stephenson of California; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Memorial Services will be Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at 10:00 am.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel and condolences may be sent to the family at acreswestfuneral.com.

In lieu of flowers, donations to defray funeral costs would be appreciated. 

Yancey Laymon 2018
Yancey Donavon Laymon

Yancey Donavon Laymon, 39, of Odessa, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Medical Center Hospital. He was born Saturday, December 30, 1978 in Crown Point, IL to Judy Diane (Wootan) Laymon and the late Ricky Ron Del Laymon.  He worked in the oilfield.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his mother:  Judy Laymon of Odessa; son:  Gage Donavan Laymon of Odessa; sisters:  Tammy Kelly and Pamela Kelly, both of Illinois and Chelsie Laymon of Odessa; his best friend and brother:  Colby Graham; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins; and a host of friends.

He is preceded in death by his father:  Ricky Laymon; his paternal grandparents:  Betty and Warren Laymon; and his maternal grandparents:  Wanda and Charlie Forbes.

Memorial services will be at 6:30 pm on Monday, June 11, 2018 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Pastors Carrie Stanton and Josh Blevins.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Angel Soltero
Angel Soltero

Angel Soltero, age 13, passed away at his home in Odessa on Friday, June 8, 2018 after a long illness.  He was born in Odessa on March 30, 2005 to Edmer Alberto Soltero Mendoza and the late Rosa Maria (Paz) Soltero.  He was a seventh grader at Wilson and Young Junior High.  Angel was a happy child who delighted in simple things and brought joy to his family.

Those left to treasure his memory are his father:  Edmer Soltero and wife Sylvia Reyes of Odessa; grandparents:  Ernestina Mendoza Lara and Anselmo Soltero, both of Chihuahua, Mexico; two brothers:  Edmer Soltero Jr and Angel Reyes, both of Odessa; four sisters:  Daisy Soltero, Novaleigh Paz, Merlina Reyes and Breanna Medina Reyes, all of Odessa; and a host aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family.

Funeral services will be 2:00 pm, Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Acres West Funeral Chapel, officiated by Deacon Manuel Luevano.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Ricky Robinson
Ricky Robinson

Ricky Robinson, age 64, of Odessa, passed from this life at his home on Saturday, June 9, 2018.  He was born April 23, 1954 in Denison, TX to the late H.C. and Gracie Mae (Blanton) Robinson.  He worked as a welder and really loved to fish. Ricky owned and operated Ricky's Guide Service at Lake Spence.  A carpenter, he also owned Ricky's Cabinet Shop.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons:  Andrew Robinson and Philip Robinson; brothers:  Troy Robinson and wife Patty, Larry Robinson and wife Cheryl, and Harry Robinson and wife Joan; and three sisters:  Mary Lou Davis, Maudie Campbell and husband Johnny and Debbie Duncan and husband Les.

His parents and brother:  Earl Robinson and wife Lucille, all predecease him.

Funeral services will be at Acres West Funeral Chapel in Odessa at 10:00 am on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, officiated by Rev. Jimmy Braswell.  Burial will be at Paint Creek Cemetery in Robert Lee, TX at 2:00 pm that same day.  Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Alfredo Barrera
Alfredo "Freddie" Barrera

Alfredo "Freddie" Barrera of Odessa, TX, passed away from his life June 10, 2018 at the age of 54.  Alfredo was born in Pecos, TX, to mother Roperta Natividad and father Alberto Barrera on August 12, 1963.

Freddie was a hard working landscaper who loved music. He walked his dogs around the park every night, smoking his Marlboro Red's, and had a special bond with his baby "Gordo". He was a friendly person, who got along with everyone he came across. He loved to argue and debate with his brother Magoo, and his daughter Amanda was his partner in crime.  Freddie loved to hide his wrappers in the sofa cushions.

Those left to cherish his memories are his wife: Marla V. Barrera; one daughter: Amanda Denise Barrera; son: Luis Alfredo Barrera; parents: Alberto and Roperta (Natividad) Barrera; brothers: Ishmael and Alfonso Barrera (his twin) and his wife Olga; sister: Yolanda Hinojos and her husband Ernesto.

He was preceded in death by his two brothers: Albert Barrera and Rudy Olivas.

Freddie loved his wife and children so much. He was a family man who was also close with his nieces and nephews and was even raising one as his own. He took care of everyone.

Rosary Services will be held at 7:00 pm Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, June 14, 2018 at 1:00 pm at St Anthony Catholic Church in Odessa. Interment follows at Odessa II Gardens section of Ector County Cemetery.

Elfida O Marquez
Elfida Olivas Marquez

Elfida Olivas Marquez, 77, of Odessa, passed away Monday, June 11, 2018 in Odessa, TX. She was born Wednesday, January 29, 1941 in San Carlos, Chihuahua, Mexico to the late Maria (Alvarado) and Domingo Olivas.  Elfida married her husband Alfredo on December 7, 1965. She loved working in her beautiful garden and she worked on it every day. Elfida was a very giving and loving person who loved to travel. Elfida was not one who liked her picture taken; she would even hide from the camera. She adored her children and her grandchildren many of whom lived right next door to her.

Those left to cherish her love and memories are her husband of 52 years: Alfredo Marquez; her two daughters: America Lujan and husband Noe, Edelmira Carrasco and husband Efrain; three sons: Homero Marquez and wife Eva, Mario Marquez and wife Maricela, Yuren Marquez and wife Karina; three brothers: Francisco Olivas, Cruz Olivas and Alvaro Olivas; as well as thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother: Abelardo Olivas; and one sister: Alicia Olivas.

Funeral Service will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Acres West Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Odessa Gardens II section of Ector County Cemetery. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.

Ben Buck Waldrep

Ben Buck Waldrep, 66, of Odessa, passed away Monday, June 11, 2018 in Odessa. He was born Saturday, January 19, 1952 in Graham, TX to the late Verna Belle (Scroggins) and Claude Leland Waldrep.

Those left to cherish his love and memories are his wife: Linda (Brice) Waldrep; three sons: Christopher Waldrep and wife Jennifer, Moody Johnson and wife Mary Jo, Shawn Waldrep; five daughters: Tanya Black, Odessa Waldrep, Shauna Poling and husband Bill, LaDonna Sapp and husband Bennie, Jennifer Keene and husband Trent; one brother: Ray Waldrep; one sister: Alberta Arledge and husband Charles; twenty five grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son: Bobby Jo Waldrep; two daughters: Shannon Waldrep and Jessica Woodard; and one sister: Wanda Jolene Patterson.

Mark Wilburn Scott

Mark Wilburn Scott of Odessa, TX, passed from this life Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at the age of 63. Mark was born in Plainview, TX, to the late Tommie and James Wilburn Scott on Monday, January 03, 1955. Mark was a hard working oilfield man who was always putting his hands to work. He was also a mentor at Circle J Cowboy Church. Mark was an all around great guy who was friendly with everyone. He was a real jokester but was also the type of person who would hand you the shirt right off his back if you ever needed it. He loved playing pool and horses.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife: Sharla Scott; his four sons: Brady Phillips, Brian Phillips, Cody Cravens, Lance Cravens and wife Jessica; one daughter: Amy Kidd; and three brothers: Tim, Paul, and David Scott.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Marshall Brooks
Marshall Lynn Brooks

Marshall Lynn Brooks, 61, of Odessa, passed away Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Medical Center Hospital. He was born Friday, January 4, 1957 in Monahans, TX to the late Willie Lee (Southerland) and Travis Reed Brooks. Marshall married his wife, George Ann on Friday, December 14, 1984 in Andrews, TX. Marshall worked for Ameripride for twelve years and Sierra Springs for twelve years up until he was no longer able. He was a hardworking man, who enjoyed woodworking and working with his hands. He enjoyed watching wrestling, playing casino slots on facebook and especially loved baseball. Marshall had a great sense of humor and always had a joke to tell. He played pool in several local leagues for over 20 years.

Those left to cherish his love and memories his wife George Ann (Seaton) Brooks; three sons: Michael J. Brooks, Corey Molinar and Cody Brooks (Kaylea); two daughters: Lindsey Harlow (Uriah Richardson) and Tricia (Brooks) Rolls (Shawn Rolls); one sister: Frances “Tootsie” Washburn (John); eight grandchildren: Cameron Cross, Alicia Molinar, Rylee Landa, Mia Molinar, Gavin Rolls, Brayden Brooks, Ilias Molinar and Jorden Brooks; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and sister: Maudie Hodges.

Memorial Services will be held 11:00 AM, Friday, June 15, 2018 at Acres West Funeral Chapel. Arrangements are entrusted to Acres West Funeral Chapel.
